Convergence at Boeing

Just in case you weren't entirely convinced yet that the USA is going to lose its next major war, badly, as well as its ability to manufacture vehicles that fly:
Boeing's communications chief Niel Golightly has resigned over an article he wrote more than three decades ago arguing women should not serve in combat.

The former U.S. military pilot's exit leaves Boeing trying to fill the crucial role for the fourth time in less than three years, just as it is battling to shore up its brand after the prolonged safety grounding of its Boeing 737 MAX jetliner.

The Senior Vice President of Communications job has become the industry's biggest hot seat as Boeing fends off criticism for its handling of the 737 MAX crisis.

'My article was a 29-year-old Cold War navy pilot's misguided contribution to a debate that was live at the time,' Golightly said in a statement included in Boeing's announcement. 'My argument was embarrassingly wrong and offensive. The article is not a reflection of who I am; but nonetheless I have decided that in the interest of the company I will step down.'
Good riddance to the cowardly cuck, cowering in fear before the crocodile and begging it to eat him last. But you know he'll be replaced by some moronic diversity who will be less concerned about failed designs causing planes to crash than advocating even more diversity and vibrancy.

I just assume Boeing is one step away from being a branding operation ran from China stamped with Boeing and sold to the last Americans as patriotic globalism for equality or some other stupid crap. Because I assume thruout all our former industries with the possible exception for now of jet engines all the data packages have been shipped overseas and the bank accounts of our corrupt have been filled. Once a good globalist assumes the executive office than they can rubber stamp all the necessary paperwork to complete the deal.

To think Bill Lind is supposedly writing a book about a low budget defense department, he better hurry if he wants to address how to maintain the global military supremacy. I suggested he skip ahead of the current collapse and propose a defense budget that can maintain the Heartland's access to the Gulf of Mexico.

Not surprising. The pilots in the 737MAX crashes were Bhavye Suneja of Lion Air and Yared Getachew of Ethiopian airlines. Forensic evidence of the crash showed gross pilot error . But pointing out the pilots' incompetence would be racist. Therefore it has to be the plane.

And women still shouldn't be in combat.

It has become increasingly obvious that its not so much that the left denies the truth, is that the truth means absolutely nothing to them at all.

While I have no doubt women, when called upon, could defend their homes and families, that is not what campaigning/soldiering is. And while it may be possible to take a body of women and stomp out any trace of femininity and so build a passable battalion of Amazons for a season, at some point the physiology tells and even the Boudica's are ground down to powder. This is the truth. And the left could not care less.

I had a family member talking about Boeing and it was described that some pilots were against the plane having too much automation - the family member talked about a situation where the pilot was unable to manually control the plane and it lost altitude before being able to bring it under control.

My thinking was it wasn't due to this so called automation but rather bugs in the software caused by incompetent developers.

Way back when I was in the army single parents (always women) were required to file a "deployment plan." If the unit was deployed they were supposed to have designated someone to take care of their kid(s). There was all kinds of paperwork involved because the designee would need to be able to make decisions regarding the kid(s) medical care, schooling, arrangements to get the kid(s) to the designee since they might be located clear across the country, etc. Basically, the designee (usually a relative) would have full custody of the kid(s) for the duration of the deployment. Periodically the army would test the deployment plan by telling the women that they were being deployed, so put the plan into operation. It wasn't unusual to find out that the deployment plan was bullshit.

You are likely right.
Trump's biggest weakness is his greatest strength: being a businessman. As such, he's more inclined to think of the US as the businesses and, being a Boomer, it's highly likely that he doesn't understand that a multi-national corporation has no loyalty to the US even if it is "headquartered" here. — If we had someone who did at least consider the possibility, it's highly likely they would consider looking into if the excessive H1B-fraud in corporations could be given the legal status of Treason, especially in something like a defense contractor.

Zastavnik Džemo wrote:Nowadays coding in C is considered hard work.
I wouldn't consider it hard; just extraordinarily tedious. It forces you to manually insert checks that could be automated and allows a lot of machine-detectable errors through. A good counterexample would be Ada where you could say something like Type Handle is not null access Window'Class; and now you have the type itself excluding the NULL and so don't have to manually check in every subprogram.

This over-arching phenomenon is being driven at a global level by the banksters. They noticed that historically females have coopted every single organization women enter. Every. Single. Time.

If you are to assert complete control over the entire globe you must position the women within the hierarchy of a society. The males can never sort it out once done and themselves will be corrupted and denatured.

As for the banksters, their males control the familial organizations completely. I have a long-time (((acquaintance))) who is CEO of an affiliation of financial, largely debt, (((companies))) – think Cerebrus --- and aside from one CFO at a subsidiary, out of many employees, there are zero females in positions of responsibility. (((None))).

Yet all I hear about in the context of the man’s daughters, he has no sons, is how females are going to run (((the world))) thus automatically making it a better place to live.

Look around and see the world they intend to create for us to destroy us from within.

The US Army does not have divisions anymore, except the 82nd airborne and 101st partly air assault.

The army copied the Marine Corps Marine Expeditionary Brigade concept. They take roughly a regiment sized body of troops as the main block, with several battalions of combat troops mixed with arty, support, and other units as needed.

Confusingly, the brigade commander is a colonel rather than a brigadier general, and to replace the support and higher level functions of a division and corps, they also now have 'sustainment brigades'

As such, he's more inclined to think of the US as the businesses and, being a Boomer, it's highly likely that he doesn't understand that a multi-national corporation has no loyalty to the US even if it is "headquartered" here.

--Loyal to *what* in the US? Its government? Its legal system? That is the point-of-contact. This is a country where no convicted communist vandal has served a full sentence in near half a century, but fifteen FBI agents are immediately dispatched to investigate Noosecar.

If you're over fifty employees, and headquartered here, you're subject to Title VII, and the core counsel of this forum and its creator (fire the SJWs) is de facto denied to you, by law. The Hodgetwins quotient of based high-yellow plantation-runners is nowhere sufficient.

Smaller corporations can run themselves as a constellation of "independent" entities each over no more than fifty employees, but this obviously has practicality limits beyond a certain point. This legally-codified anti-productive parasitism has been going on for longer than any of us have been alive (e.g., Social Security, etc).

While it's easy to snicker at the potential problems a company like Apple might face should an overt cold-war with China break out, likely resulting in confiscation of factories over there, we must be mindful of the fact that Apple is the current market-cap champ on the NASDAQ for a reason: it's because they saw in advance that is it impossible to profitably make anything in the US under the current regulatory load.

Various morons yammer about east-Asian "slave slaver", overlooking the obvious: Apple went to China so that it specifically would not have to hire a large fractional percentage of useless African and Hispanic females for technical work. (Whether it can keep them out of senior management for much longer remains to be seen.)

Ford, the only non-bankrupted large US automaker, survived by dint of relocating much of production to Mexico and Brazil rather than put up with American communist-run unions any longer.

If either company were forced to move all production back (say, as the result of a trade-war), they'd instantly implode under the onslaught of a Title VII applied with retroactive vengeance.

Everyone suffering from recent deplatforming programs will cheer themselves hoarse as the middleman dragons plummet to earth, but Title VII would remain the law of the land, enshrined as an amendment to the precious Constitution that their hearts burst with patriotic pride swearing an oath to.

It took the disaster of Macnamara's morons for the military to give up on the idea of taking on and deploying the "differently abled." If the program had been done during peace time, they could have papered the failure over. It was only because they had so many die, become terribly injured, and injure/kill their own that the top brass had the idea beat out of them.

It will take something even more traumatic and wide spread to happen before this stupidity is beaten out of the West. Of course, beatings of that level usually equate to the toppling of governments and a dark age. I only hope that whoever writes the definitive edition of The Rise and Fall of the United States two centuries from now will properly assign the cause and highlight the symptoms of the country's failure: uncontrolled immigration, universal suffrage, the central bank, the mantras of "diversity is our strength" and "everyone is the same", stupid wars, and allowing women to have a say in government and education.

whether those specific pilots were incompetent or not is irrelevant to the question of whether or not it is an acceptable software design to allow a runaway trim setting.

In Desert Shield and Storm they were one of the units over there the longest, from almost very beginning to handle logistics moving it in country, and staying after almost everyone else left to pack it up and ship it home, in King Khalid Military City. Open scandal was the female soldiers getting knocked up left and right in Saudi before the shooting started to get their tickets home... W zero consequences. That was some of the feminist rot in DoD even before Clinton.
Worked w a few years later w a former Force Recon Marine, Arabic specialist who was a co-op going back to engineering school. Forensic evidence of the crash showed gross pilot error . But pointing out the pilots' incompetence would be racist. Therefore it has to be the plane.

It was pilot error, but the major criticism of the plane is that it's fundamentally unstable and thus more prone to crash when pilots make an error.

Newer, more efficient engines are too big to fit under the wings of the 737, so they had to move the engine up and forward, but that changed the fundamental aerodynamics of the plane. To compound matters, because of regulations, that change would ordinarily have meant every pilot and mechanic would need to re-certify on the "new" plane. But it's customer's didn't want that, so Boeing used software to try and mimic the flight behavior of the old plane so everyone's certs would still be valid.

So, it was pilot error, but in reality, they weren't flying a plane they were trained for. They had a certificate, but it was kinda bogus.

Boeing no longer manufacture new commercial airplanes. I think they just outsource most of the components to China and other countries.

Put down the bong, dude. That is the most uninformed comment I've seen in weeks, and you've got some stiff competition in that department.

Boeing makes one plane that has parts built overseas, the 787, and that's only because countries like Japan and Italy said their national airlines would stop buying Boeing unless they got some manufacturing handouts. Something TGE might sooner or later punch back on.

>> I honestly believe women should be given a chance in combat. Make a division just for them and send em out to Afghanistan, see how they perform. The mixing males and females is the real morale-killer.

Two things will result:

1. A tremendous number of war crimes.
2. Small battles will end up with complete slaughter of one side or the other. The Russians found out in WW2 that women do not have a proportional response mechanism. Once engaged in combat, they continue until either all of them are dead, or all of the enemy are dead. They will pursue relentlessly -- even to the point of creating a salient by which they can be easily cut off from their own lines.

Women make good snipers, as long as they are in an urban area and can withdraw to bathe on a frequent basis: They tend to be MUCH more patient than men if they are motivated to kill.

In WW2, they had an advantage in night flying (women have better color vision and better night vision) -- but modern sensors and displays eliminate that advantage and men have an advantage in the strength needed to pull high-G turns.

This is simply a false history and a typical RINO talking point.

Apple moved to China because it is a profit-maximizing firm and they wanted to take advantage of labor and regulatory arbitrage. Nothing more. There was never any threat that they would somehow go out of business by operating in the United States.

Yeah, aren't their knock-off Migs considerably under-powered compared to their Rooskie counterparts because the Chinese engines suck?

They didn't design the air frame to fit the engine?

For the original 737, yes, they did. But as the engines kept getting bigger and better (for fuel efficiency - larger fans mean more efficient) the size required changing how the engines were mounted, which changed the balance / thrust characteristics, so the MAX changes pitch in a different manner than earlier 737 models when changing thrust, meaning pilots can't fly the new model the same way they flew the old one.

Hence, the software to try and compensate.

What Boeing's customers wanted was "a new type that's not a new type." Joke's on them for making such an idiotic demand in the first place.

Well, in fairness, Boeing did manage to pull that off for decades by matching the newer engines performance to the airframe so the planes still flew mostly the same, just with more power and better fuel efficiency. They just tried pushing it one iteration too many with the new LEAP engines and literally couldn't keep the same flight characteristics.

Partly it's the fault of the regulation, which makes it really hard for airlines to fly multiple different airframes (not just paying for multiple certifications for their crews, but keeping track of who can fly what). Since no airline is going to replace its entire fleet all at once, there's a big incentive to keep cranking out "updates" as long as possible.

These are unlikely to be both true!

Secondly, this following article suggests that women do have some advantages WRT color vision, but males have advantages when it comes to combat:

It won't be a nuclear war that we lose. Not to say we would win a nuclear war, just too risky for anyone to play. No, It will a conventional war, but it won't be against the Russians or the Chinese, though it may involve their equipment. No it will be one of these neocon invasions.

Everything seems to point to Iran as the target, but in what form I am not sure of. Time frame? I hate to set dates, but not likely under Trump, because he doesn't seem to want to start another war. So we have at least that much time to enjoy being on the top of the world.

As a comment to a war we already in and losing by the way: Afghanistan: Looking back over this very very long war. I wonder if we wouldn't have been better off, not to mention it being cheaper, if we had engaged in a series of wars followed by withdrawals after setting up a new government each time. Obviously, the new government would have fallen to the Taliban every-time, but that would have been part of the plan. Such a strategy would have resulted in one, drawing the enemy out from his hiding places, and two, the Taliban would have lost people throwing out each successive government we left behind. I think their desire for resistance, not to mention their organization would have been shattered eventually. We could of course do this now, but I can't imagine converged America has any stomach for another war, and speaking of converged America, that to might be a reason we lose the next war, because possibly after even a minor set back, say losing one small battle for instance where some transgenders and women are killed, converged America might demand that the war be ended and that we pay reparations to the enemy.

Well, mainly because unions are run by Godless Communists who hate Christianity. Unions are also a haven for organised crime, and a refuge for layabouts who know there will be no consequences for their lack of performance. The Maritime Union of Australia, for example, managed to get one major employer to give paid leave to union members who failed drug tests, on the basis that being addicted to heroin isn't their fault "because they have a disease". Total fucking bullshit, of course. I think it'll be the reliance on drone aircraft that will lose a war. Satellites, and near space in general, are too vulnerable.

The ability window of this modern military machine to go back to basics in the middle of serious events like that, I judge to be closing. Yes, I know there are backups, there are ultra-low frequency navy communications, there's ham radios. But the thought processes have to exist, they need to plan for contingencies so that the training can take over when required.

Instead of preparing for the eventualities of continual conflict escalation combined with dwindling knowledge of previous methods, modern militaries have prioritized diversity sensitivity training.

Whatever "flea-bag" country they're attacking, won't have the handicap of communicating across vast distances. The theater control be isolated as well, and more vulnerable to a low-tech missile attack without that satellite surveillance. There's radar, but then you are broadcasting target locations to incoming trouble.

Anti-radiation missiles are relatively speaking, in the world of weapons, low-tech. Harms and Shrikes were used up to Kosovo, and one target they couldn't get (after 70 old stock items went on a clearance sale) was hit by an A-LARM which features a parachute delay until they turn the radars back on. The reason these weapons are low priority in development budgets, is because they are so effective, if for no other reason than it forces the enemy to turn off radars.

Lots of low-tech weapons can be deadly in a guessing game situation, and many of those world empire bases will become isolated in the aftermath of communications blackouts.

The real trouble will be at home, when AIPAC's constantly accelerating criminality and chutzpah finally hit their inevitable endgame.

As for the 737Max, Boeing's choice to add the oversized engines created a passenger aircraft with fundamentally unstable flight characteristics which they then attempted to correct with software written by $9/hr H-1Bs from India.

My contention is that Boeing never should have entertained, much less accepted the idea of a passenger aircraft with unstable flight characteristics. Passenger aircraft should always be the most docile handling airframes around.
