Could be legit

Or it could be the Hellmouth's attempt to control the narrative, either way, it is a good sign that more and more people are beginning to recognize the youth-devouring evil emanating from Hollywood:
While fame and fortune are an ever-enticing dream, few things seem less appealing than being a child star, and HBO’s Showbiz Kids certainly reinforces that feeling. Awash in anecdotes about the ways in which the industry—and the attendant hunger for the spotlight that consumes both children and parents—warps, alienates and exploits kids, it’s a documentary which illustrates that, sometimes, being nobody is far healthier, and more fulfilling, than being well-known.

Sexual misconduct is the dark cloud hovering over Showbiz Kids, and it comes to the fore when former Diff’rent Strokes star Todd Bridges recalls being molested as a child—a disclosure that, according to Evan Rachel Wood, isn’t unique, as she claims, “In my experience, I know a lot of kids that grew up in the industry. And what surprised me when I got older was finding out that pretty much all of the young men were abused in some way, sexually.” She then relays that, at a recent Golden Globes gala, she watched a pedophile (whom she doesn’t name) win an award, and had to walk out because she was so disgusted by the praise being lavished upon this monster. As she departed, she thought to herself, “I don’t know if I can do this anymore. I can’t keep watching this happen. I don’t know how to handle this. This has to stop.”

Those moments are definitely the ugliest, and most eye-opening, in Showbiz Kids. Written and directed by Alex Winter, whose big breaks came in Joel Schumacher’s 1987 Brat Pack vampire thriller The Lost Boys and 1988’s Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, the film knows whereof it speaks.
I tend to expect it does, given that the late Schumacher, along with Spielberg, has been repeatedly been rumored to be among the most predatory of the Hellmouth's more influential denizens.

"Shut up Bill!"

Ted never gets to say that. Now we know why - Bill has something to say.

the Banksters are eyeballs deep in this stuff too.

Deutche Bank sought out Epstein as a client after his pedo conviction, refused to abide by federal reporting requirements for withdrawals over $10k and were fully aware that he was making payments directly too underage girls.

the death penalty needs to be reinstated for the real pedophiles ( those preying on prepubescents ) and those who willfully aid and abet, like these Banksters, need to suffer the same consequences as the perverts committing the crimes.

The idea that Hollywood can be literally taunting us with their pedophiliac degeneracy, waving it in our faces with documentaries like this, acknowledging its existence through the words of Corey Feldman, Todd Bridges, Evan Rachel Wood and many more, yet just roll on with business as usual, safe from consequences makes me realize just how firmly in Satan's pocket the entire industry is.

The thing that is so frustrating is that no one will ever name names. I understand why, naming their molester would definitely destroy their careers, and depending on just who exactly the pedophile is, could wind up getting them killed.

Well, if Alex Winter was trying to say something similar in Freaked (plot: former child star takes big pay-off from sleazy suit and gets turned into a freak), it went over most people's heads. At least he's saying it out in the open now.

This more than explains why my grandmother refused to see any movie that wasn't a Christian production shown in church. While I don't think she had the slightest inkling about this kind of stuff, most independent Baptist churches held members to not associating with theater, and especially Hollywood movie-theater in any way. May have to do with a lot of the gratuitous nudity in the pre-Hayes Code era.

Blogger RandyB July 10, 2020 2:07 PM

Agreed.

I've seen outright condemnation of those who don't name names - "coward" is the mildest of the epithets applied. It's too easy to demand courage of others for your own satisfaction.

Praise that courage when it is found. Weep for all who face those choices.

He said it out in the open a couple of years ago. He was molested more or less continually until he hit puberty.

I always wonder how many stage moms knowingly pimp their kids out to the pedos for a slice of that money, Munchhausen's fodder, and vicarious fame.

@Snidely Whiplash

Check out "Starsuckers." Those parents probably have already by now crossed that line. They drive 4 hours a day for auditions and appearances. Kid really listens well to photographers...

Then there's the parents who kept taking their children to Michael Jackson's house, after the charges went public. Clearly looking for settlements. Not sure if chemically-neutered pop stars are capable of providing grounds for cash rewards, but not the best parenting either way.

There's always going to be control exerted on releases of info, by whatever authority hangs over production. But to those saying 'limited hangout,' just remember the historical pattern of (((over-reach to ruin))). This will all break eventually. It's the digital age and it's picking up steam. The amount of progress in the correct direction during just my lifetime has been noticably huge. IMDB comments had to be removed because this awareness took over and accusations were on the pages of the (allegedly) guilty.

Check out the story of comedian / club owner Barry Crimmins - "Call Me Lucky." 25 years ago AOL had moderated pedo forums! Why are those gone now? Christians with keyboards. Hard to believe that was so recent...

The practice of parents pimping out their children to influential Hollywood types was a key part of the plot in book version of The Godfather, but the pedophilic tendencies of the character (((Woltz))) were omitted from the movies.

A number of CDAN's blinds refer to exactly this. It's very common.

"Schumacher became sexually active at age 11, and had sex with three girlfriends during his youth. When he was 15 he started a relationship with a 17-year-old boy that lasted two years. Schumacher said that he had had sex with between 10,000 and 20,000 men. During the AIDS epidemic, he lost multiple friends, and had multiple tests on himself performed due to fears that his promiscuity would give him AIDS.[39]

In 1984, he purchased the horse stables that belonged to Rudolph Valentino from Doris Duke.[40]

He made political donations to the Democratic Party, the congressional campaigns of Robert J. Mrazek, Nick Clooney, and Donna Shalala, and John Kerry's presidential campaign.[41]"

It might be frustrating to most, because I suspect that taking the ticket indicates a tacet acceptance of the terms by the individual, or someone influential. Most of us, including me, don't get that.

The thing that is so frustrating is that no one will ever name names.

Yeah. I understand why too, but without names, we're all free to think it's a few bad apples and definitely not any of our favorites. It'll take big names, repeated by a lot of victims, to get through to people how bad it is. And that's tough, because they all know that the first one who speaks is likely to be way out on a limb by himself. Crispin Glover tried. It didn't get him killed, fortunately, but no one stepped up to say he wasn't crazy, either.

Blogger Yossarian July 10, 2020 3:57 PM

This thing evolved from "That crazy guy thinks Tom Hank's a pedo lol" to "I really hope this movie I just enjoyed didn't have any pedos in it like with that other movie". Most people are in their bargaining stage.

Blogger urthshu July 10, 2020 4:02 PM

Part of why so few come forward naming names is because the other half of it is helping abusers get to fresh meat. Introducing a 'friend' to a high powered abuser when you know what will happen for a paycheck, an award. If they are monsters then what are you? And if you say something what else will surface? I'm almost certain that's what the trouble with Corey Feldman really is.

There is a very compelling thread on 4Chan that got turned in to a machine-read YouTube video written by a supposed former driver/henchmen of Jeffrey Epstein. Definitely worth a listen.

Would naming the name get them killed? Blast it all over social media and killing them is locking the door after the horse is out. I think Epstein might still be alive if he laid everything out publicly so killing him would hide nothing.

Blogger My 1 millionth internet profile July 10, 2020 7:19 PM

Say what you will about the "consequences", but many of these people who refuse to name names are the same who are squealing loudest about the refusal of the police to police themselves.

There is a deleted scene from the movie showing the abused starlet.

@20 re: "if he laid everything out publicly so killing him would hide nothing."

Sadly, not how they operate at those levels.

Even if he had spilled his guts (figuratively), it would be made certain that his guts were spilled (literally), not to hide anything, but rather, to show openly, to anyone else thinking of sharing that kind of info, that this is what happens to snitches.

Rule of the street: snitches and talkers get stitches and walkers.

Its hideous and wrong, but many (most?) of the people at the top literally CANT get out, not without being seriously harmed, maimed, or even killed, and without Christ, can they really be expected to have the courage to do that?
