The President at Mount Rushmore

I can forgive the risible equalitarianism and the excessive civnattery - after all, what else can we expect, President Trump is a Boomer civic nationalist - given this strong defense at Mount Rushmore of Western civilization:
1776 represented the culmination of thousands of years of Western civilization and the triumph of not only spirit, but of wisdom, philosophy, and reason. And yet, as we meet here tonight, there is a growing danger that threatens every blessing our ancestors fought so hard for, struggled, they bled to secure. Our nation is witnessing a merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children. Angry mobs are trying to tear down statues of our founders, deface our most sacred memorials, and unleash a wave of violent crime in our cities. Many of these people have no idea why they’re doing this, but some know what they are doing. They think the American people are weak and soft and submissive, but no, the American people are strong and proud and they will not allow our country and all of its values, history, and culture to be taken from them.

One of their political weapons is cancel culture, driving people from their jobs, shaming dissenters, and demanding total submission from anyone who disagrees. This is the very definition of totalitarianism, and it is completely alien to our culture and to our values and it has absolutely no place in the United States of America.

This attack on our liberty, our magnificent liberty must be stopped and it will be stopped very quickly. We will expose this dangerous movement, protect our nation’s children from this radical assault, and preserve our beloved American way of life. In our schools, our newsrooms, even our corporate boardrooms, there is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance. If you do not speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras, and follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted, and punished. It’s not going to happen to us.

Make no mistake. This left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution. In so doing they would destroy the very civilization that rescued billions from poverty, disease, violence, and hunger, and that lifted humanity to new heights of achievement, discovery, and progress. To make this possible, they are determined to tear down every statue, symbol, and memory of our national heritage.
President Trump isn't perfect and he isn't everything for which we'd hoped. But he is almost certainly better than the citizens of the USA actually merit.

Agree

Some of it was cringy USA-centric, but it was a blistering denunciation of the BLM/Antifa Maoists, and quite effective for rallying the civnat masses and boosting morale.

And I can understand why he waited until now to keep his powder dry, now that news of BLM/Antifa excesses have gotten out and the CHAZ has been shut down. In most cases, with President Trump, it's wait 48 hours, but here he had to wait over a month. But I think he's doing what's necessary.

Blogger Ransom Smith July 05, 2020 2:11 PM

Sometimes his speeches sound like DonJr has been bending his ear.
This one has that sort of tone to it with the verbiage used.

Blogger Jeroth July 05, 2020 2:13 PM

The speech was excellent. Also no mention of Fentanyl Floyd. That is very important, in my opinion.

Stuff like this is making it easier to separate the genuinely concerned nationalist right from possible left wing plants. Anyone who was immediately black pilling about "election year fool-me-twice" Trump after the speech is obviously suspect. They are also the same people who started attacking Tucker (Spencer for example) a couple of weeks ago. I suspected Trump and Tucker were working on a pre-suasion/persuasion one-two punch, and their opposition followed by this speech only confirmed it.

Also, a little tangential, but General Flynn pretty much confirmed Q last night. Claiming "it's a LARP" or "it's Mossad" is just ridiculous after this.

It was a great speech, he hit on a lot of good points. He did mention 'judeo-Christian' at one point, but I think he's generally referencing God a lot more this election cycle - which is great to see.

The chans last week had a lot of digging tying the people of the 60/70s weather underground movement to the current left wing attack on the US. Now that those people are elevated into key positions of power. Will be interesting to see how it all shakes out of President Trump says they are going to expose the dangerous movement.

Blogger doctrev July 05, 2020 2:32 PM

There's no "almost" about how civnats should feel about the man. He's the only thing keeping that ideology as a going concern.

You can say he's almost too hopeful about being able to shut this thing down at all, never mind quickly. But he's done some amazing things. So cautious optimism is warranted.

Blogger kurt9 July 05, 2020 2:49 PM

Well, Trump is certainly better than the alternative.

Blogger yoyoyoBigD July 05, 2020 2:57 PM

Blogger sykes.1 July 05, 2020 3:32 PM

On a hopeful note, last night in rural Ohio, NYC, LA and many other places, individual families put on their own fireworks displays. The ones I could see were nearly professional in duration, variety, and noise.

There were no public displays. They were cancelled nearly everywhere. And there were no parades and no speeches. It was just individual Americans celebrating one of the highlights of human freedom, on their own, uncoerced, uncoordinated.

There are millions of leftists trying to actually destroy the US, and they may yet succeed, especially if Biden and the maoists win.

But there are also millions of Americans who actually believe the stuff Trump recited, and there will be Americans living in this country long after it is gone.

You might even be able come back home.

Blogger Dont Worry About Me July 05, 2020 3:48 PM

What is great about President Trump is that he is doing everything an American president needs to, and is still hated by the heathens.

Trump proves that even the best men of the world are still of the world. God is supreme, no man will ever be

Blogger Bezzle July 05, 2020 3:49 PM

A short list of possibilities:

1. Trump is controlled, and will sell the country out through continuing weak-sauce inaction as the communist putsch of America accelerates its mop-up phase. (Such political kayfabe accounts for the incongruity of the media providing Trump with round-the-clock publicity from the 2015 hat-toss when they didn't have to.)

2. Trump really is a good guy without a "control file", but one whose options are limited and accounted for, and for whom "something special" is being saved. (E.g., it's been almost forty years since Reagan was reminded who was in charge on March 30, 1981.)

3. Trump may have a control-file, but he has the far less innocuous control-files on everyone else, and is now using them to the shock and horror of an establishment that, in 2015, thought it had recruited a "safe" professional-wrestling heel opponent for Hillary in the 2016 steel-cage main-event. (This is more or less the essence of Q-anon, but accounts for the free media publicity; i.e., in the modern Votescam era, Trump would never have become president unless the Deep State had thought he was one of them. His betrayal of them would therefore have to have begun after securing victory.)

4. Trump really is just a narcissistic, blow-hard tough guy without a clue in the world what he's doing, but skating along on overbearing charismatic bluster. (Certainly every CNN granny believes this.) He was permitted to win because, ultimately, he's incapable to delivering any lasting damage to the establishment, and his embarrassing proletarian Twitter-struggling will be mined for Marxist narrative purposes.

5. He's unvarnished New York Mafia. (This is essentially #3, but with fewer good guy tendencies and a lot more predatory cunning. A Gambino/Pinochet amalgamation in which no one yet knows which fraction is dominant.)

Blogger stevo July 05, 2020 3:56 PM

I do appreciate that he's doubling down in areas that fire up his base. I also suspect that he is well aware of our concerns. Wishful thinking?

Blogger Jack Amok July 05, 2020 4:05 PM

Civnats have one very important - good - purpose in The Run-Up (to the Crack-Up). They praise the history and culture of America. They misunderstand what's necessary to revive and preserve it, misunderstand who is and isn't an American, but they do love it and praise it. In doing so, they can't help but remind Americans we have that legacy. Also, in praising it, they automatically trigger unhinged attacks from the anti-American globalists.

Civnattery, despite it's inherent attempts to dilute the definition of American, clarifies that definition by making it clear who built America and who wants to destroy it. They also serve, who only know partially what they are doing.

I repeat: If he clubs a baby seal on live television and eats its still beating heart-still voting for him. No man is perfect and I won't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. He's trying hold back the headwaters of a flood from dam that was compromised a long, long time ago.

That first paragraph tells me he's framed the conflict properly, but I suspect he still hopes that it can be resolved peaceably because of some untapped reservoir of good will.

Last week, I had occasion to speak with a bank manager in her mid 30's. She's not happy with his serial monogamy, but doesn't care. She told me that she and her husband used their "stimulus money" to buy guns. I suspect many people are quietly preparing for mass civil "unrest".

Biden's candidacy is bait and switch brought to politics. Nobody who has ever seen dementia at work isn't alarmed by his aphasia and disorientation. Whether he has it, or is merely engaging in an elaborate ruse to justify handing over the Presidency to a person who couldn't win the general election, he is thoroughly unqualified.

God bless Donald John Trump, if for nothing else preventing a malignant narcissist from acquiring the power of the Presidency and wielding like a cudgel with the full approval of the chattering and ruling classes; as well as the Karen Army.

Blogger Akulkis July 05, 2020 4:42 PM

>> The chans last week had a lot of digging tying the people of the 60/70s weather underground movement to the current left wing attack on the US.

To those of us who lived through those times, it is obvious that they are behind all of it. Since before I was in kindergarten, they were openly expressing their fervent desire to overthrow the government with a Communist revolution. It started dying out once Jimmy Carter (puppet? willing tool? useful fool? or knowing traitor?) took office. Mark Levin has said many times that when he came into the White House as part of Reagan's staff, they found a closet jam packed with copies of "Rules for Radicals." I cannot believe that Carter would fail to notice copies of the book laying around the White House.

Blogger Joe Smith July 05, 2020 4:50 PM

General Flynn pretty much confirmed Q last night.

(Click Jeroth's link to Flynn's Twitter video of what I gather is his familial brood swearing an oath to the Constitution.)

The first ten words of Article 1, section 8 is the very core of the Constitution, without which it has little purpose. Title VII (among a host of other incrustations layered thick enough to drag down a battleship under their weight) is attached to the Constitution.

When the average red-blood MAGA-hat pronounces his love for the Constitution, he's almost solely laser-focused on the second amendment, oblivious to the *tooling* of the state codified by the *rest* of it.

Few are aware these days that the Bill of Rights was attached to the thing as precautionary layer of Saran-wrap hopefully containing a Pandora's Box already bursting at the seams before the ink was dry -- as inattentive Kentucky farmers found out quick enough when Washington mounted up to lead the troops in the collect Hamilton's Whiskey Tax.

- - -

"...That investigation (into the nature and construction of the new constitution), which the conspirators have so long and zealously struggled against has,...so far taken place as to ascertain the enormity of their criminality. That system which was pompously displayed as the perfection of government, proves upon examination to be the most odious system of tyranny that was ever projected, a many-headed hydra of despotism, whose complicated and various evils would be infinitely more oppressive and afflictive than the scourge of any tyrant...

No wonder then that such a discovery (by the Anti-Federalists) should excite uneasy apprehensions in the minds of the (Philadelphia convention) conspirators, for such an attempt against the public liberties is unprecedented in history, it is a crime of the blackest dye, as it strikes at the happiness of millions and the dignity of human nature, as it was intended to deprive [Americans] of the choicest blessing of life...."

(Samuel Bryan, commenting on the 1787 coup d'état in "Centinel", January 1788)

So much for that Linus van Pelt blanket-coddling worship.

(Flynn has) been signing his book with "WWG1WGA" for a while now.

Does this "confirm" all that is implied by Q? <...shove in a small bet>

Does it confirm that we are being told what we want to hear because it nurtures our hopes and keeps us strung out a little while longer as our culture burns down around us? <...shove in a larger bet>

I was alive and paying attention throughout the entirety of the Reagan Administration, and meaningless twaddle such as this went on *constantly*. It was eight straight years of one-step-forward, two-steps-back. He signed every omnibus appropriations bill. He signed the horseshit mandating SSNs for employment (the youngsters may not realize that it was possible to work without one up until 1987).

They have a million schemes to keep you seated and wasting your time, hoping that someone *else* will come along and do the heavy lifting. It's very close now, they whisper, just around the corner, over the hill, another day now. In the meantime, endeavor to persevere, shoulder the wheel, chin up stoicism me hearties.

I could have done with a bit less civ-nattery, but I don't think the American electorate is yet in a place where it will elect an outright nationalist. Trump has greatly helped the cause however in a way that will emerge over time - the ruining of so many political careers of those now in power by insisting on a decentralized approach to Corona-chan/Antifa/BLM.

These governors, mayors, and representatives suddenly and unexpectedly got put in a position where they had to act rather than pass the buck off to big daddy federal government. I suspect pretty strongly that Trump himself knows this. Diplomacy after all is the art of saying nice doggy while you look for a bigger rock.
Consider, what would happen if in one of the many egregious cases of judges blocking him with a nationwide injunction if he'd gone full Andrew Jackson?
My gut is that enough republican senators would defect to allow him to be impeached. Similarly if he went full 1968, troops in the streets response to the riots, enough Senators would defect on him (or honestly, reveal their uniparty allegiance). He's in quite a bind such that it's kind of amazing that he achieves what he has achieved.

The political solutions to life's problems have to fail and visibly fail badly, before people will put their faith in religion again. Since those-who-would-rule-over-us know this as well as anyone does, and see it happening before us as well as any of us, their plan is that politics fails in a way that allows them to control the reversion to religion. That means they're preparing another fake religion which they control to replace their fake politics which they currently control. The ecumenical maneuvers of the pope, the former protestants, and various muslim and orthodox factions, are significant pieces of this puzzle.

Trump is part of disillusioning the Left of their messianic political fantasies. They're true believers and they're going to fall hard. There's a long way to go to even get back to the centre, let alone accommodate the unavoidable over-reaction to the Right. I'm not saying he is knowingly playing this role - I never met the guy and I largely don't think it matters. There is a tide in the affairs of men, after all, and while one man can make a difference not even all of us together can turn back the tide. I tentatively conclude he's a man who senses the tide more clearly than most and runs with it.

Some things are pre-ordained not as a matter of divine over-determination but simply because history is real and many things happening today are consequences of past decisions that cannot be undone.

Might even be some Scouring.

So true, so true. Wait, you think Sulla was one of the good guys?

I'll take:

His betrayal of them would therefore have to have begun after securing victory.)

and add TGE is cautiously moving the Overton Window.

Stone and Flynn are both heavily connected to Israel. QAnon is likely a joint Trump-Israel endeavor.

You're behind the news; no doubt because once "the news" discovered it was WORKING, quit covering it!

It's not my hammer, it's Vox's. Posts get nuked for spammage and for going too far off topic or into monomania. Posters get banned on Vox's banning them.
If it were my hammer, there would be a lot fewer commenters.

Even if we took this at face value and bought the whole civnattery thing, this is a refusal to see the problem. We don't need platitudes and and statements of faith about what we will and will not accept. What we need is for these people to be rounded up, arrested and imprisoned or deported.

Take Yvette Felarca. Here is a non-American who hates us, hates our country and our children being allowed to teach our children? This woman has a nationwide reputation for running a violent terrorist organization known for assaulting people. Yet, despite Americans knowing this, she is sill allowed to access our children in a school children are mandated by law to attend all while being paid by tax-payers.

Can anyone even imagine a white person in her country of origin teaching their children to hate themselves and assaulting people trying to attend speeches! The concept is just so foreign nobody thinks of it. Imagine the press in her home country writing puff-pieces about such a white person! There are thousands of Yvette Felarcas in schools and colleges and corporations across America.
Until people like her cannot exist, things are only going to get worse.

Trump's twitter account is all that's required to stir up that hornet's nest, it's not called the "bully pulpit" for nothing. If the awareness and grassroots effort got big enough, the bureacrazy or the democrats in congress can be goaded into an over-reach. They are truly out of touch with reality, this can be worked to advantage.

Or, even better, if they don't put up a fight, then the wall gets built. There are ways to get this done, the news media has been used to help Trump before. Luckily they still haven't figured it out!
