Mailvox: cutting out the cancer

A CEO's son writes of an encouraging response to Corporate Cancer:
My father is CEO of a [REDACTED] firm. I gave him my copy of Corporate Cancer after I read it. He read it, immediately sent it to his head of HR and made it mandatory reading for all employees. I'm told his HR manager is close friends with the EVP of HR at [a big bank], who has also now read and is sharing your book. The truth moves silent, but nevertheless moves.

I have a copy to my boss, which was less warmly received... que cera.
I've been told by several businessmen that CC is the most important book they've ever read, which is encouraging in one sense, and extraordinarily depressing in another. Then again, it probably is more useful in a practical sense than anything Tom Peters, Peter Drucker, or Lee Iacocca ever wrote.

I have never once encountered a good HR or PR department.

Blogger Zastavnik Džemo July 10, 2020 5:09 AM

This monday I also sent my copy of Corporate Cancer to my CEO by mail (I work remote). It is important to educate/win over people in key places. Long march through the institutions I guess.

I just wanted to play video games, Linus just wanted to hack kernel, CEOs just want to make money...

We all used to think it is enough to just do our jobs.
No one had any idea general education was part of warfare.
Except the Rockfeller and his ilk ofc.

Good to know.

This is an excellent example of the 'Platform', that each of us already possess. The ability to share face to face with other people.

Making a few key contacts can completely change the character of your local community.

Because the message is an expression of the truth it will take root and grow naturally. It is the suppression of truth that requires the deliberate expenditure of significant resources.

Face to face truth telling is decentralized and low tech. Thus, invulnerable to Google, Youtube or Twitter.

It is 4th Generation Warfare at the sociopolitical, arguably the most important, level.

"Practical" is the key word. Consultants (Dogbert: con + insult) make their money by constantly re-selling nonsense to the same companies. Solving the problems means no easy repeat streams.

Driving to an excellent future means fixing the potholes, one at a time, as they appear. It's messy, time-consuming, and thankless, but keeps the substructure from crumbling. Also means changing road construction so the invasive water rolls off and finds no entry. We just want to drive, but ...

Tom Peters LOL

Never apologise, that was the most important lesson for me.

These are but the small subtle things that change the world. Everybody thinks they have to be on a hilltop with a horse. That's just for sculpture.
Figuring out how to distribute this book that's the real challenge. At a certain point it will be deemed Mein Kampf level bad, so good practice on how to slip it in early will help.
Soon we'll hear that books spread Corona and have to be burned. XD

May the good message be spread on "Mighty Wings"

And a long time in comming.

Now write "Corporeal Cancer".

The CEO of GOYA could probably need a copy at this point in time if it is not too late.

The greatest conspiracy theorist of all time, Bill Cooper, said that no matter how high the the highest technology weapons they use against us, there is always a low technology answer. As taking a hammer to your iDevice solves the 'covid health tracker' that was installed automatically last month, face to face interaction and boring old email can stave off the poz.

"Solving the problems means no easy repeat streams"

Sounds like the leaders of "disadvantaged" communities and identity groups.

Not sure where I heard it, might have been PressSec Kaylie, but "Democrats are not interested in solving problems, they are only interested in *campaigning* on solving problems."

>> I have never once encountered a good HR or PR department.

That's because worthless people gravitate towards them. Power over others without earning it, nor even significant responsibility.

Blogger Unknown July 10, 2020 9:27 AM

Very cool.

Blogger Kraemer July 10, 2020 9:32 AM

I've seen some great PR work done. Almost always, the PR people were veteran journalists, which enabled them to deal with journalists rather effectively. People who major in PR, otoh, do not know anything

Blogger Jeroth July 10, 2020 9:40 AM

@1 Amazingly my HR department is run by a white male, no nonsense military veteran. I don't remember a single instance of drama in all the years I've been here. Like VD has said in the past, white privilege is civilization.

Too bad you can't disclose the name of the company so we could buy stock!

It is also unfortunate that Patreon isn't public so we could short it.

Blogger Blue and Gold Bear July 10, 2020 10:04 AM

My CEO father hasn’t read corporate cancer and is ideologically neutral on the BLM stuff, but he absolutely refuses to let his company stray from its purpose. Even those left of center can avoid the cancer through strength.

Blogger SamuraiJeff July 10, 2020 10:09 AM

Of all the vox audio books I've heard on unauthorized I think corporate cancer is the most important book vox has written. I'm calling it, the book will be a staple in the business world

Blogger Ken Prescott July 10, 2020 10:18 AM

If you're not part of the solution, you can make a decent living prolonging the problem.

Blogger Kirk Parker July 10, 2020 10:40 AM

"Tom Peters, Peter Drucker, or Lee Iacocca"

You really dared to criticize the genius authors of that world-changing business book In Search Of The One Minute Megatrend???

Blogger d July 10, 2020 11:08 AM

Excellent!

Give it a few months, you could probably own the whole company for the cost of a decent used car.

About that...went to the local library to drop off an overdue book...there was a sign over the return box: "Books will be quarantined for 3 days before being checked in"

Satire is nigh well impossible these days.

Celebrate the victory and press on to the next.

May all of the ticket-taking executives and managers in Corporate America be purged en masse, to follow in the footsteps of King David:

1. repentance to eternal salvation
2. temporal consequences in kind and in proportion to their temporal offenses

And may the unrepentant suffer the second in full, and the consequences of their unrepentance in eternity. Amen.

Blogger Ray - SoCal July 10, 2020 3:54 PM

Tom Peters is all about the latest trend, very fadish.

Lee Iacocca had some gems in his first book.

Drucker's teachings have aged well, and teaches business wisdom. He was a very humble person.

Corporate Cancer is a red pill for corporate governance, and a good guide for surviving the current cancel culture purge / madness.

Blogger Zeroh Tollrants July 10, 2020 5:04 PM

I just wanted to be a grandma who made pot roast and cookies for the grandkids, and ran my import business in peace.
No one would let that happen, so here we are.

I think SJWAL, SJWADD, and CC should be required reading for everyone over 16-17.

Blogger Yossarian July 10, 2020 7:36 PM

For people working at big companies virtue signaling on social media has become a requirement lest they forgo job security. Viable alternatives will have first pick of skilled and experienced employees.

Experience proves otherwise A left can hold the flame straight, but eventually fails at avoiding SJW successors.

Could be both on Death Row. Many saved whilst awaiting their Death sentence like this Man:

Many of the worst people could be saved there.
