Two new books

First, fans of Kai Wai Cheah will be very pleased to learn that Castalia House has finally published the third volume in The Covenant Chronicles, The Prince of Shadows. It's every bit as good as the first two.

When a black op goes awry, the Nemesis Project pulls deniable operator Luke Landon off the line. But while mortal authorities want him to stand down, the gods aren't done with him yet.

Pressed into a secret war between infernal and divine powers, Landon is thrust into a new campaign. The elder gods are returning to do battle with the Unmaker—and they are choosing agents to carry out their will.

In Japan, a goddess has chosen a shrine maiden as her soldier. The shadowy Organization, the secret rulers of the world, have her in their sights. Without official sanction or backup, Landon and his allies must go rogue to save her.

Landon has always been prepared to lay down his life. But this time, he may just have to give up his immortal soul.

Second, a new author has joined forces with us, as the relentless Razörfist is publishing his first novel, an illustrated fantasy noir entitled The Long Moonlight. Preorders are now being taken for both the signed hardcover edition and the paperback at Arkhaven.

A sparkling gem made rough stone, the seat of political power in the Kingdom of Vale. Revolt foments among the patrician class and open gang war looms on the horizon. As the Argentine Tower plots revolution, a lone thief with a past as dark as Menuvia itself picks the wrong lock and opens the wrong door. Shadows still cast in the dark of night, underneath THE LONG MOONLIGHT.

Featuring a series of original illustrations. Published by Dark Legion Books.

The signed hardcover edition also includes the ebook, which will be sent out when it is released.

Razörfist has even produced a video packed full of lore introducing the book.

Very excited our Humble Consumer Advocate is now a Light Novel Publisher.

Will it be possible to buy the ebook edition separately when it becomes available?

Blogger Jack Ward September 18, 2020 6:45 PM

Just ordered Prince of Shadows. That author is hard to past up. Just saying....

Heard Razorfist talk about his book on Friday Night Tights and the cancellation he suffered because TPTB blackmailed his first indie publisher. He said that he had another publisher lined up and I was hoping CH. Great news!

Hi Vox, the link for the hardcover is incorrect.

Literally reading hexenhammer right now. Also found out the third Son of the Black Sword book came out recently. Life is good

Gotta say, that is one good cover art Razorfist found for his book.

Blogger Storm Rhode September 18, 2020 7:30 PM

You are razorfist's publisher. This just keeps getting better.

Razorfist is one of the only youtubers I still watch with any regularity. That his book ended up making its way to Arkhaven is one of the best things I've heard all year.

The biggest Shadow nerd doing noir fantasy?

Yep. I'm In.

The two commentators whose videos I never skip are Vox and Razorfist. This is fantastic. I heard Razor mention this in his game stream the other day, and am ecstatic he went with Castalia. Just put in my pre-order for the hardcover too.

"Cancelled huh? Well I'll just roll with The Uncancellables."

Blogger lazlo azavaar September 18, 2020 8:41 PM

Razorfist and Vox Day? It's like a real life crossover event!

Blogger MagisterGreen September 18, 2020 8:49 PM

Been waiting for more in the Covenant Chronicles for a long time, and thrilled that Castalia picked it up. Great books. And definitely going to buy Razor's as well. Such a time to be alive.

Thanks for the update about the ebooks. I forgot to ask if it'll be available in both epub and Kindle.

Thanks again

I am happy to see Razorfist is putting out a book. Time to preorder.

The Razorfist announcement makes me happy. Lots of good books this year.

I want it, but I have to finish the first book and then get the second one first. :(

You're publishing Razorfist??? Awesome. I'll want this too, though I'll wait for the ebook. We're having some unexpected expenses next month, so it may be a while before I have any free money.

Does Eve appear in Prince of Shadows? The synopsis gives no hint.

Blogger Alana September 19, 2020 12:47 AM

Vox, any updates on Midnight War?

Blogger wreckage September 19, 2020 1:35 AM

One book I knew I wanted, one I didn't know I wanted!

Blogger ScottC September 19, 2020 3:34 AM

Castalia is the place for new science fiction. The stuff that gets nominated at the Hugos is gay trash.

Blogger Gregory the Tall September 19, 2020 8:28 AM

Will there be audiobooks of these (read by Jon Mollison preferably...)?

Blogger Leoric September 19, 2020 9:46 AM

Well I am sold after that video intro.

Blogger B-Rex September 19, 2020 1:29 PM
