Remove Section 230 protection from Facebook

Because Facebook is actively editing content and isn't even bothering to pretend it is merely a platform rather than the publisher it obviously is:

Donald Trump Jr. has accused Facebook of election interference for limiting the spread of the New York Post story which claims Joe Biden met with a Ukrainian businessman while he was Vice President, saying it needs to be fact-checked first by its chosen third party before they will allow people to share it more online.

The announcement came on Wednesday without any explanation from the social media giant and before Biden had even denied it.

It thrusts into the spotlight again the exorbitant power Facebook has not only over the circulation of news but also over politics and the spread of information, and comes at a particularly tense moment given the Presidential election is in just three weeks.  It also raises the question of who Facebook's fact-checkers are and what qualifies them to arbitrate the truth.

Andy Stone, who is a policy communications director at Facebook announced the decision on Twitter.

'While I will intentionally not link to the New York Post, I want be clear that this story is eligible to be fact checked by Facebook's third-party fact checking partners. In the meantime, we are reducing its distribution on our platform,' he said.

Perhaps House Trump should stop crying all the time about social media and simply a) remove the artificial and unfair legal protections from the Social Media Cartel while b) supporting the non-Cartel alternatives.

The New York Post article in question, which proves that Joe Biden lied about his corrupt son's international business dealings.

Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad

Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company, according to emails obtained by The Post.

The never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.

“Dear Hunter, thank you for inviting me to DC and giving an opportunity to meet your father and spent [sic] some time together. It’s realty [sic] an honor and pleasure,” the email reads.

An earlier email from May 2014 also shows Pozharskyi, reportedly Burisma’s No. 3 exec, asking Hunter for “advice on how you could use your influence” on the company’s behalf.

The blockbuster correspondence — which flies in the face of Joe Biden’s claim that he’s “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings” — is contained in a massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer.

UPDATE: The God-Emperor is on it.

So terrible that Facebook and Twitter took down the story of “Smoking Gun” emails related to Sleepy Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in the @NYPost. It is only the beginning for them. There is nothing worse than a corrupt politician. REPEAL SECTION 230!!!

what i find fascinating about the whole ordeal is that Andy Stone the communications head of Facebook is a member of the Democratic party and an alumni of the House Majority Pac, DCCC which as superpacs designed to increase the number of demns in the house. This is information that he proudly displays on his twitter. Moreover also based on his twitter profile he also supports boxer and mcnerney from California.

The story about how the hard drive was obtained is interesting. Somebody dropped off a Mac Book for repair at a shop in DE. No one ever picked it up or paid for it. The shop owner took a look, made a copy, and called the FBI. The FBI picked it up. The shop owner sent the copy to a lawyer connected to Giuliani. If only the FBI had it we would never know about it.

The Duran reported on another Ukraine story. I missed this story months ago. The former US ambassador to Ukraine was brought in to testify at the Trump impeachment hearing.
The media made her out to be a girl scout who was fired by the mean orange man.
These guys have been reporting on Ukraine for a long time.
She testified that she did not know much about Burisma or Joe Biden as she had only been briefed on Burisma before the hearing(?).
John Solomon dug into it.
Now it turns out that she had sent 130(?) emails on the subject and reviewed documents. Also met with Burisma lobbyists.
If you want more accurate details listen to the video, which is long.

After catching some the Bidden for President commercials recently, Bidden needs all the help he can get because those commercials aren't helping. The latest one? A voice over with a bunch of... cats. Now, old cat lady may just be a demographic, but I really don't see it having that much impact. Another one of the others is an appeal to anyone but whitey. Doubling down, a Kamala Harris one makes it look like they are expecting little white support. Honestly, between these and the standard "Joe did such a great job in the wonderful Obama administration" commercials I think they are producing more laughs then the average Netflick special. I wonder how many Trump supporters are running his PR campaign.

Louis Rossmann and others have reported on the Yelp extortion racket so I dug into it. It seems that courts also protect Yelp under 230 as an ISP. Yelp has recently added some racist scarlet letter to slap on your business listing if they receive complaints.

Probably the greatest mistake Trump made is that he didn't push for revoking section 230 in 2016.

I'm still holding out a little bit of hope that Trump will just call in the army, cancel the elections, and clean house order 66 style.

And this is the truly absurd part. Who decides what’s true according to Faceberg is a Third Party. This is an organization of some kind totally not beholden to Faceberg. An organization Zuckerberg’s programming trusts to give him Truth or deniability or whatever’s desired.

I presume this Third Party consists of a three-man panel consisting of Mz. Zuckerberg, Zuckerberg’s sister, and an A.I. loving dubbed “Satan.”

I see two things from this, the gals in all those camps panicked as women are wont to do in such a situation and secondly it is another data point in my hypothesis that the Left is a completely top down human endeavor. Literally in a space of an hour the lemming posters on my usual list of targets for left wing hate had little to no left wing hate as the lemming cultists were awaiting the latest narrative to spew.

A while back I was at a seminar where the Yelp higher ups described their process for new features. I was interested because I miss the yelp googles feature, the one they got rid of.

Anyway, they described the delivery partnership and another process I can't recall now and my book is at the office I don't go to very much since covid. They had a better line of patter to describe this, but the higher ups brain storm and then send off the mid levels to see if they can find any marketing data to support their big ideas, then ask if tech can support it.

The upper end execs are the usual Ivy League mix of Wasps with some Jews, but from what I could tell the real idea guy is their Product O, a Patel with a real or fake English accent. He seemed like a mix of marketing and flimflam guy to me.

I could 100% see the Inyies telling him they needed to show their support for Antifa and him cooking this idea up and the upper guys steamrolling over their legal once the actual workers in IT said it would work

Anger makes sense, but I hope no one is surprised by this. When the video leaked out of Google after the 2016 election, in which they bemoaned the results and then made a commitment to prevent it from happening again, it was clear that Big Tech would ramp up the censorship as 2020 approached. If there's any surprise, it's that Trump supporters haven't been purged entirely, but I suppose they decided that siloing and shadowbanning them so that they could waste their energy preaching to their choir of friends was more effective and profitable.

A modest suggestion: throw the press out of the White House altogether. Any communication from the president to the public can be done via whitehouse.gov . The primary channel of communication from the public to the president should be the House of Representatives: that's what they are *for*. To facilitate this, the president and the ministers of state should face Question Time.

Repealing Section 230 isn't necessary. Section 230 protects social media from liability for what third parties say; that's why they're platforms, not publishers. Simply treat them like publishers, and open 'em up to huge lawsuits; that'll penalize their behavior, big time.

Also, the Big Tech CEOs COULD have been nailed for lying to Congress. Remember, when they testified to Congress in late 2018 that they weren't engaging in censorship, which was a big time lie; remember that Alex Jones and Laura Loomer had already been banned, which is proof positive that they lied. Had they been punished back then, they may not be engaging in their blatant censorship now.

Granted, charging Jack Dorsey, Mark Zuckerberg, et al with lying to Congress wouldn't have punished them for censorship, per se, but they would've been punished; they'd have suffered consequences for their deeds. Remember, Al Capone wasn't nailed for his real crimes of robbery, extortion, murder, etc.; the Feds got him on tax evasion. Similarly, charging the Big Tech CEOs with lying to Congress would've been similar; they WOULD have been punished. Because they weren't, they've only censored more and been blatant about it.

If Trump diverged, and had been originally put in place by the Prometheans, he would not have the support network he would need under him and around him to actually carry out actions, and bring a real change recognized as dangerous to the Prometheans. Which means everything he did, would have to be from those constraints. Considering 3 out of 4 of his Generals (the big 4 junta/countercoup) were with the Prometheans, as the starting place, it would mean he’s doing what he can.
