Women in Football

Outkick exposes the ridiculous Women in STEM SEC Football stunt that Vanderbilt arranged last weekened:

When I saw this whole ‘Vanderbilt needs a kicker’ story start to emerge, I didn’t pay a lot of attention to it. And then, like a lot of people, I watched on Saturday, because I was like, ‘Well, I want to see. Is she actually gonna attempt field goals? Is she gonna attempt extra points?’ It’s an intriguing story for this Vanderbilt-Missouri game. And as I’m watching, they keep trotting out the punter, who actually was probably Vanderbilt’s best player on the field on Saturday, and he punted seven times in a row for an average of 43 yards. And so, as I’m watching, I’m thinking, ‘Wait a minute, it’s a lot tougher to punt than it is to kick off in a game.’

“So, this story that Vanderbilt didn’t have a kicker doesn’t make sense to me, because the punter could have clearly run up and popped the ball up in the air and kicked the ball a lot further than she did. This is not rocket science.”

Read the whole thing. Vanderbilt actually had two options known to be far superior to the future namesake of the Sarah Fuller Courage Award, both of whom were male, and in whom Vanderbilt was equally uninterested.

Then again, it wasn't as if the stunt was going to cost Vanderbilt. It's not as if actually trying to win the game would have made any difference whatsoever, so they might as well go ahead and start 11 women while they're at it.

"They might as well go ahead and start 11 women while they're at it."

If the NFL did that, I would actually tune back in just to satisfy my curiosity.

Then I would tune out after about 5 minutes.

The Vanderbilt coach got fired after the game too. They don't seem to mention that in any of the stories either.

Blogger Felix Bellator December 01, 2020 1:12 PM

I gather she is a goalkeeper. Please correct me if I am wrong, but from my limited soccer experience:

1. Keepers are insane (I was one in college)
2. Keepers aren't great kickers (true for me)

So why use a female soccer keeper? Obviously it's political, and as Vox pointed out, they're not even trying.

Blogger basementhomebrewer December 01, 2020 1:15 PM

I dont actually know what the rules say about having your whole eligible roster injured before the game clock runs out.

The Hodge twins made a Youtube video discussing the football farce. It did my heart good to watch these irrepressible jokers mercilessly mock the Sarah Fuller s*itshow. Watching two fit good-looking twins, with wives, kids, careers, and joyful demeanours, made their mockery all the more incisive, because it provided a visual contrast between the Good, True and Beautiful, and the Bad, False and Ugly at Vanderbilt.

Blogger Crunchy Cachalot December 01, 2020 1:21 PM

Joke's on you, chauvinist pig, Sarah was conference co-special teams player of the week! She's the bestest EVAH! A thirty yard kickoff is great but your outmoded hateful patriarchal statistics try to oppress her achievement!

Depends on the keeper. Oliver Kahn would murder his backline if they crossed him.
And again depends. Some keepers specialize in being able to hit accurate long balls to forwards. See Manuel Neuer.

She is traveling to play my Dawgs this coming weekend. I would put money they try a short field goal and she kicks it right up the long snappers rear end.

The problem is everyone has another laugh and pretends that the whole 'women are equal' in everything propaganda must be swallowed whole yet again.

So all's well plebs.

Meanwhile, a few quotes from a book I was reading recently:

'Taking Sex Differences Seriously' by Steven E. Rhoads.

'Title IX began with noble intentions: giving interested women access to athletic participation.

It became a pernicious form of social engineering only when it became part of a numbers game and an ideological agenda insisting that the way women are socialized (rather than the way they are) keeps them from loving sports as much as men do.

Only when we begin to take sex differences seriously enough to see that men are intrinsically more attracted to sports — and need sports competition more than women do —will we be able to design public policies that are just, functional and sensible.'

'Title IX regime remains unjust. In their behavior and their voiced opinions, males show that they care more about competitive sports than females do.

Moreover, interest aside, boys need sports more than girls do because boys have more difficulty than girls in making friends.

In the 60 Minutes show on Title IX, the University of Mary-land’s athletic director, Debbie Yow, was asked how walk-on wrestlers react when told they can’t come out for the team because of the Title IX numbers problem.

Yow said, “They cry. A number of them do because it’s so devastating to them to not be able to participate.”

But yeah... 'you go girl'. And all the cat ladies cheer and wonder where all the 'good' men went.

Hahahah, women in combat. Women in aviation. Women in football.

Most of these 'women' in sports are trannies, and we all saw how women in combat perform. We have to send a helicopter full of Recon Marines to save female 'soldiers' from getting raped to death.

And women in aviation usually go out in a blaze of ignominious retardation before sinking to several hundred fathoms.

Blogger Unknown December 01, 2020 1:53 PM

I will go against the grain a little here. I like college football. I didn't like pro football anyway, before the insults to my nation and my flag.

I was sort of involved in a secondary city orientated indoor arena football team on the business side, over a decade ago when they were almost popular. But the sideboards issue in the converted arenas they played in ended up limiting running plays too much.

I did enjoy the lingerie football league when it was popular. It didn't have the sideboard issues, and the setback on the line allowed running plays to develop without the injury issue that a setback with men would have caused.

Blogger Chip Hazard December 01, 2020 2:09 PM

@2

That's just what everyone needs, to have females bashing their heads together in a full-contact sport. It's not like we don't have enough crazy and schizophrenic bitches in our lives, we have to create more of them artificially.

Blogger VD December 01, 2020 2:10 PM

Keepers aren't great kickers.

You must have played at a very low level in the USA. In Europe, a keeper is expected to be able to get the ball past midfield over the height of a jumping player's head by the time he is 15 or 16. They are also expected to be fairly accurate with their very long range kicks, at least, enough to never put the ball out of bounds even if kicking to a wing on one of the sidelines.

Blogger Kraemer December 01, 2020 2:15 PM

Cos they'd all be dead in four minutes?

Blogger Jack Amok December 01, 2020 2:27 PM

I'd love to see video of the players' eyes rolling during her halftime speech.

She was kicking off? If I was one of the other players, I might be inclined to have trouble shedding blocks on coverage and let Miss Special Teams Player of the Week make the tackle.

Would the refs call the return man for a personal foul if he trucked her instead of just running around her?

@ Unknown RE: Arena League team. I am going to guess you are referring to he original AFL 1.0 before the 2009 shutdown ?

As for the team, I am going to guess from the "secondary city" you MAY be referring to the Georgia Force, who were played I'm Gwinnett and we're started to get pretty popular before the league took a year off.

Blogger boron December 01, 2020 2:36 PM

When we used to a boys' team vs. girls' team (8 year-old kids) soccer match, the boys lost disastrously; not because the girls were much better players (far from it and I used to coach a girls' team), but because soccer is a contact sport - and the girls know it!

Blogger Dark Herald December 01, 2020 2:38 PM

In fairness, she was the only one out there that was on a winning team this week.

Blogger Dark Herald December 01, 2020 2:40 PM

The kick was hilarious.

Literally half of her team was off sides and the refs wouldn't call it.

Because everyone knew her kick was going to be garbage.

Blogger OMGDwayne December 01, 2020 2:47 PM

Just another symptom of the Leftist social pathology in which reality must be destroyed in order to achieve their evil agenda. Normal is abnormal. Ugly is beautiful. Black is White. The worst is the best. The most (((evil))) is the most venerated. Cowardice is courage. Deviance is moral superiority. Pitiful victims are promethean heroes. Etc.

Blogger Crunchy Cachalot December 01, 2020 3:01 PM

Keepers aren't great kickers.

They're usually some of the strongest legs on any team, if not always the most accurate, and even if the enormous punts they like so bad are fairly useless.

And of course it was Vandy. When a team that hasn't always sucked like an Dyson does something like this, maybe it might mean a little something. But probably not.

This "Women in X" thing is so tiresome. As if it were some social taboo that were keeping women out of anything. That is an utterly false front for what is really wanted - changing the rules of the game so that they can compete. And of course "women" and "women's rights" and "women's lib" are themselves just a stalking horse to the real goal, which is to destroy masculinity AND femininity and re-mold humanity into one giant amorphous androgynous >> CHILDLESS << herd.

I taught middle school for many years here in NC. One year they let a girl play safety in the “5th quarter” & she was a terror! She clocked a receiver and put him out of the game. I saw her in a two-on-one fight and she kicked ass on both the other girl and the guy. She eventually got a full scholarship to Howard. BUT... she was a singularity.

Blogger FLOlson December 01, 2020 4:29 PM

I firmly believe Sarah was told to squib the kick by the headcoach, and did a good job of it (no surprise, she is on the women's soccer team). I can tell by the fact that they show her running off the field right after the kick was downed, meaning she never ran towards the ball, because she already had the tee in her hand. This was a publicity stunt by a coach who was trying not to get fired due to his poor performance (his team lost 41-0!). He did NOT want her to have to tackle any runner that got through the defenders sent to tackle, or look bad attempting a tackle when the kick returner made her look silly trying to tackle him. The despicable coach is just one of many who used Sarah to further a stupid and false political agenda. Shame on all of them, including Sarah, who allowed herself to be belittled, and used.

The media tried so hard to gaslight this. Like it did with the massive, sophomoric voter fraud that assisted their puppet Slow Joe to a "win". Like then, this gaslighting isn't working, as many on the web saw this for what is was.

It's embarrassing. The pandering, the pretending, the perpetual ass-kissing. I had some idiot the other day say some stupid insipid comment about girl power and I just unloaded. really have no use for football anymore because of the RACIAL SJW politics, now they are going to add SEXUAL SJW politics? She's more a carnival attraction than Eddie Gaedel.
I note that she apparently indulged in a bit of oration at half time, or more precisely a rant.
"I was like, 'We need to be cheering each other on. This is how you win games. This is how you get better is by calling each other out for stuff, and I'm going to call you guys out. We need to be supporting one another.'"
So, you are a college student and your open your little speech with "I was like.."? And no, you dimwit, you don't win football games by cheering each other on for non-achievements like first downs. Of course, the irony of her resorting to stereotype and being a cheerleader is too much.
Sports wise, she is brain dead. They should be hanging their heads in shame. They SUCK. The team was 0-7 coming into the game and was losing 21-0 at the half. Of course, their imbecile quarterback saying her speech helped, the second half was more of the same, 20-0. I guess when you are a quarterback who is shut out, anything looks better than your performance.
Seriously, line the little princess up at linebacker for the Georgia game. I'm ordinarily not a fan of snuff films, but I’d pay to see that shrew tamed. If you want to run your mouth, line up where it matters. Georgia's tailback is about 215. Assuming she isn’t pancaked by some OL, she could get another first. First woman killed in a college football game.

Also, it was a pretty horrible kick.

The ball bounced along the ground in a manner that made every honest watcher think 'Hell I could do that, even a lineman could do that'
