Evil doesn't care about hypocrisy

If you don't understand that yet, perhaps Twitter's brave and stunning stance against election-related censorship will suffice to make it clear to you.

Twitter is openly condemning internet service providers blocking social media apps in the run-up to an election in Uganda as it takes criticism for alleged censorship on its own platform.

“Ahead of the Ugandan election, we're hearing reports that Internet service providers are being ordered to block social media and messaging apps,” the social media giant posted in a statement on Tuesday.

“We strongly condemn internet shutdowns – they are hugely harmful, violate basic human rights and the principles of the #OpenInternet,” the statement continued.

The company argued that “access to information and freedom of expression, including the public conversation on Twitter, is never more important than during democratic processes, particularly elections.”

Every country should simply ban Twitter. And if you're on Twitter, get off it now. The Big Tech companies are exactly like Freddie Krueger. They have no power over you if you refuse to acknowledge their existence.

I was talking yesterday to someone about the idiocy of the Cult of Free. It's astonishing that so many people are still reluctant to give up Twitter, Facebook, and other free social media, when they now know, beyond any shadow of the doubt, that the cost of using their "free" applications can very easily be your job and even your career.

Been off Facebook since 2016, I only had a twitter to follow Trump, but I've now deleted it. This blog is now the only place I get news updates from and The Beartaria Times app and SG is a way better way to socially network with good people.

Last year I started methodically going through every site I had registered at but stopped using and making sure my accounts were removed (thanks EU!). I am in the process of removing big tech emails and as the article states, you should absolutely not be using Facebook or Chrome/Google any more than you have to.

This is what I always expect from left wingers. They are unashamed of their hypocrisy.

They will accuse Mr. Trump of instigation to violence while they will instigate violence, they will lecture us on censorship while they censor us, they will call us racists while they cheer a designation of someone because of their very "minority" race instead of their merits.

The game is rigged because they are allowed to play with dirty tactics, but we fearful of God need to play clean all the time. I hope we'll see a miracle in the coming days.

Countries should charge Big Tech for up/down data at one cent per gig on the barrel head. Use the funds to directly fund state owned server farms dedicated to National businesses only. Server real estate is a power base as Amazon demonstrates. Non compliance means they are banned.

China bans Big Tech for political reasons and still maintains it's ability to influence other countries who refuse to see the nature of the game.

It’s a culture war, people. They know it. Wake up! Stop funding your enemies. Stop lending aid and comfort. Cut off the supply lines. Who cares if they think it’s strange you don’t jump into the pool if dissipation with them? Otherwise, you’re selling them the very rope they’ll hang you with.

I remember when I was still a minor and my mother watched Oprah. There was this one show she did where part of it was the strange quirks of human psychology.

Before the show started, there were people lined up outside the studio hoping to get in and be part of the audience. One of the people working on the show went out and placed a large fish bowl on a stool near the head of the line. In the bowl were many small river stones, about the size of your thumb, and on the outside of the bowl a sign was taped that said "Free, take one."

The vast majority of people in the line took at least one of the worthless rocks, and a black guy walking by smiled and stuffed his coat pockets with the effing things. I don't think he even knew the line was to get in to see a taping, he just saw free and helped himself. I remember being dumbfounded at how stupid they were.

The entertainment, or at least dopamine hit, of social media could be said to be worth more than some rock picked up off the ground, but you would have to be just as stupid as those people once you realize it's designed to be addictive, they're selling your information, and they actively censor anyone they dislike ... which means you.

Blogger Harambe January 13, 2021 6:28 AM

There's no reason for most people to be on one of the big social networks. For most people's needs, an old school Bulletin Board forum or facebook clone is all they'd ever need. I mean, you probably interact with the same 30 to 50 people on facebook the entire time you're on there. You could very easily move those 50 friends of yours onto a hosted site that looks a lot like the real deal and after a week or so you wouldn't even notice the difference. Except that you're not arguing about politics or religion with people who have rainbows in their profile pictures. And you certainly won't get spammed with sponsored vegan propaganda like I was on Facebook (I deleted all my ad preferences and apparently my wife and I talk about Keto too much, so facebook thinks I want to hear about veganism and "plant based meat" bullshit).

So yeah, quitting facebook doesn't mean you'll lose your friends. And the experience doesn't have to suck either. And it doesn't have to cost a lot of money either. I'm a software developer specialising in web and cloud development and I can assure you it could cost you as little as $10/month for hosting and probably nothing for the "social media" software that gets hosted. Even less if you can find cheaper hosting. It's trivial on modern hosting to cater for 50 users who are probably not even online at the same time.

Hell, if you dig deep enough, you can even host such a thing for free on MS Azure if you know which regions has free tiers of their hosting services.

My ask is how to delete the soc tech giants off computers, phones for good so they get nothing frontdoor, backdoor whatever door they use to make you a product. My wife has a twitter and does not use it and wanted to delete it off her phone and ipad, twitter does not make it easy for Boomers to do this. Secondly and chance of a class action against these companies for their refusal to let us walk away and subject us to their criminal actions?

There are a few comments so far about hypocrisy. Keep in mind that if you’re still in the Cult of Free and you are complaining, you are the hypocrite.

To VD’s Cult of Free, I would add the Cult of Easy. You buy cheap Chinese junk and garbage food at Walmart? Don’t complain when Chinama pushes you around.

The allure and glamour of a post-scarcity future the internet promised us a generation ago was a powerful spell (free news, free services, free entertainment, free software, free communications, etc). Its threat and danger seem readily obvious in hindsight, but didn't betray itself to either rank & file gen x or the boomers. Perhaps this was engineered at its inception. Perhaps the astute among the monstrous saw the opportunity early on and cashed in at the appropriate junctures.

Its hideous strength lay in the fact we'd never had any practical experience of anything except hard copy and "meatspace". How could it possibly threaten bedrock institutions, practices, and fundamental realities? Why would newspapers, magazines, mom and pop shops, and even Main Street/Town Square with and fade with barely a shrug? It was often marveled as the successor to the Gutenberg Press. But nobody ever seemed to realize cyber space was devoid the Newtonian trapping that leveled the playing field.

And suddenly here we are. "Information" has become as vital a pillar to the economy as labor and capital. No one, save for the brightest among us, so much as perceived the sea change, let alone prepared amply.

Thankfully, the one persistent failure of the Prometheans has been their failure to fundamentally reshape human nature. They've certainly used and abused it deftly. But somehow they've never managed to close the circuit on their machinations.

Boomers, Xers, Millennials, and Zoomers collective sense a inharmonic note with it all. This could and should be capitalized on. But not necessarily in a head-on way. Populist and Progressive alike could be united in a push to force Big Tech to compensate the masses through profit sharing. After all, banks pay interest on deposits, corporations pay dividends on shares and investment, employers pay wages on labor, manufacturers pay license for intellectual property of invention.

Why shouldn't the new bonanza of information be the same two way street?

I have been telling people in my family and church that they were evil for ages. They listen, agree and go back to them within the hour. It's the same with the masks. Only a handful of people can free themselves from this addiction because, until the MSM and SM tell them it's evil, they can't help viewing it as a harmless habit that hurts no one. They don't want to hear you. As someone said earlier, if educating people in right and wrong was all it took, Jesus would never have been crucified and God would be having to create new real estate in His Kingdom at a phenomenal rate. We can only reason with and reach a few, but that's all God requires of us and that we keep trying. It's frustrating but remember to store up your treasures in The Kingdom, the dead can't be saved.

You could very easily move those 50 friends of yours onto a hosted site that looks a lot like the real deal and after a week or so you wouldn't even notice the difference.

That's possible, but impractical, because your 50 friends don't all have the same 50 friends that you do. So you create HarambeBook and convince your 50 friends to join it. Great. But your friend Bob has friends that aren't in your group of 50, so he has to create BobBook and convince his friends to join it. Carl does CarlBook, Dave does DaveBook, etc. You have to join them all, because why would they join yours if you don't join theirs? Now you belong to as many social media services as you have friends.

The way to make it work would be to do "social media" as a protocol, not a service. That's how email works. You don't have to use Gmail to exchange emails with a Gmail user. Email is a set of protocols, so anyone can create an email server or client, as long as it speaks the protocols. Usenet, IRC, FTP, all the communications methods before everything moved to the web worked on that principle: if your node spoke the protocols, you could exchange data with others doing the same. A similarly distributed social media protocol would let you run any social media app and communicate with all your friends using other apps as long as they speak the same open protocol that anyone can implement.

There have been attempts to do that for social media, creating open protocols for the kind of functionality it requires. That's honestly very difficult, though, because social media tries to offer all communications methods instead of concentrating on one thing. It's also far harder to monetize than the centralized version, so there's less incentive to work on it or adopt it.

In the 80s and into the 90s, we had corporate-owned, incompatible services like AOL, Compuserve, and GEnie. If your friends were on AOL, you had to be on AOL to hang with them. If you had friends on Compuserve, you had to be on it too. Then the Internet took over, and we lived in a sweet spot for a while where you could hook up to this one thing pretty cheaply and communicate with everyone everywhere. But that wasn't profitable for most of the people involved, so there was always a corporate incentive to get back to the AOL/Compuserve model. Only with Facebook and Twitter they run on top of the Internet, saving them a lot of money so their masters can get much richer than those old systems did.

I'm not saying don't quit them, of course. I don't use them. But I accept that there isn't an easy replacement online, so I do my socializing in person.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan January 13, 2021 7:57 AM

#26 Warlock that "educating" is fine and and admirable on your part but "educating" has been a time and energy sink for the Right for decades. Our evil enemies discredit themselves daily but we as a whole never take advantage of that and finish it off by disqualifying, delegitimizing and destroying them, and they do a lot of the heavy lifting in their own destruction.

It works on a personal level I cured my wife of FOX news, the Chicago local FOX surfed on the rep of being the little brother to the conservative national FOX but it was all POZ as the other 3 stations. Did I "educate" my wife every time local FOX spewed POZ? No I disqualified them with effective truthful rhetoric. People generally are authoritarians, hence destroy the authority of the evil ones.

PS I emailed about about the SG sub from my UATV, it has been a few days and nothing, so I'll just wait till the next membership push and up the level.

Look for a video called "eat da poopoo" (don't worry, there's no shocking visuals, it's just a very amusing reaction to homosexual media).

The Twitter doublespeak reminded me of this Dalrymple quote:

"the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control"

I remain amazed by the number of people who think that some words on a piece of paper are an aegis against evil, it is sort of like thinking that a crosswalk offers invincible protection from being run over by a car. The words on the paper are only worth as much as the men charged with enforcing them decide they're worth.

It doesn't matter if something is illegal, immoral, hypocritical, or illogical, evil does what it wills, bribes or blackmails those who have the power to do something about it, and then boasts and gloats that it is untouchable.

If everyone treated everybody else without standards society would be an immoral, unworkable mess. Standards are needed.

The problem is some people treat others with standards while expecting the same to be returned. It's a form of projection.

Those with standards can cooperate with each other based on those standards since that's how civilization is maintained. Christianity is after all a set of divine standards.

Those without standards, once identified, should be treated without standards and cast down.

And increasingly a financial war. We've seen a bit of it already, of course, but they'll be ramping it up. Causing people to lose their jobs, cutting them off from the financial system (banks and more), pressuring companies into not doing business with you, etc. And very soon, if Biden/Harris is in office, I think we'll see them start to cut us off from govt money in various ways. One result of so many people being on the govt teat in big and small ways is that this will become a big weapon for them to wield against us.

Of course they'll also push more and more people into the "nothing left to lose" category, and that may backfire.

That's a misleading headline. Read further into it and they're just blocking them for households that request it. The good news is that there were a lot of people requesting it.

I joined Twitter to read Trump’s tweets. I deactivated this morning. The hypocrisy is amazing. Twitter will be banned in more places and no one will be around to defend them.

The normie right's love affair with Jews makes the nazi/fascist epithet their favorite, regardless of the facts, of course. It's nauseating, for sure.

Parler is a gatekeeping institution owned by cuckservative elites. If it still exists in 5 to 10 years it will be censoring you just as hard if not harder than Twitter.

First, after reading here for years, I want to give thanks for this place. VD and others here showed me a grasp of hypocrisy that had bounced off my thick head through many readings of the Gospels. Learning the type of lesson about hypocrisy that VD offers here was a turning point for me as a Christian-- a Christian living and working in enemy territory.
Engaging with the enemy on his terms is a waste. At best, it's a mental and spiritual trap to exhaust us. Christians have a habit of letting heathens critique our practice. Then we get shocked, shocked I say, when the enemy is immune from our criticism of their evil actions. Honest debates and mutual accountability do not exist in a non-truth-seeking, power-grabbing context.
And doing all of this in your enemy's-- say, parlor -- is just a disaster. You should probably never walk alone, uniformed but unarmed, into the enemy officer's club, pull down your pants, and announce yourself. Translation: do not use Facebook, Twitter, and other enemy hangouts.

"Any suggestions on what to do with our phones?"

If you need the mobility you could use an old school flip phone. Otherwise, you could go back to a good old fashioned land line.

Quoting from a post over at Quod Verum:

"Uganda's a private country. Twitter, Facebook, et al can go start their own Uganda."

To those with a scriptural leaning the gospel says to expect hypocrisy as a matter of course. The leaven of the phasasees is hypocrisy. That means that the evil that fallen men do is enlarged to the size it is through hypocrisy which spreads into every drop of dough and without which the bread is flat which means you probably won't notice them to begin with. Never be surprised to see hypocrisy in the wicked, it was a required ingredient. Simply be divided from those people and their parallel bread society because they are like a different species.

To contrast faith and the kingdom of heaven is the leaven of Christ's followers. A little bit of faith enlarges the entire thing and eventually permeates it completely.

Death by blows from hammers.

Starting at the toes.

With 8 ounce (230g for those of you living in metric-land).

The level though of the HI-PO-CRAZY is just so mind-splitting. I mean I have seen these rat faced demons operate and I know all about their history, but seeing them do it in realtime is astonishing. It's one thing to believe they are a certain way, and it's another thing to know it by experiencing it. It's just breathtaking, even for them. Even they have to be sitting around looking at each other going, "are we really getting away with this?"

Someone asked about Linux smartphones. I came across this guy discussing them. They exist, are expensive $800, and lack some apps he says.

Most modern phones are that expensive. They're just either subsidized or people pay in installments as part of their bill and they don't realize what they're actually paying for their phone.

But you can't Troll them from the safety of your own barracks. I know it may be childish, but I do get a perverse pleasure out of driving them nuts on their own home turf.

Can't deny you this point, and
I will neither confirm nor deny any schadenboners achieved by having betriggered some loons on the Faceberg over the years. Just taking a more operational mindset of late.
Still, there was a time...

Pointing out hypocrisy, double standards, contradictions is not about getting the person you are engaging with to change their mind or admit you're right. It's about discrediting them and their worldview in the eyes of the audience watching the exchange.
