Mailvox: the woodworker's philosophy
This expert woodworker's philosophy is vital for every Christian and right-of-center individual today:
When woodworking with power tools, I routinely ask myself, "If I fell into this tool right now, what would happen?" If the risk is too great, I reorient myself and attempt to do the job safer. There's risk in all of it, or I could go back to hand saws and chisels. It's all about managing risk.
I think that every Christian and conservative (or whatever political strip which is not woke) needs to ask, "What if everything I ever said, did, or where I even went was instantly exposed to my spouse, church, employer, and eventually greater world?".
You are standing over that dangerous tool every moment you use an iPhone, Android device, or PC. One must never stop asking that question so you understand the risks you are taking and what it means for your future.
He's absolutely right. And it's also important to be open about your past and present failings, in order to prevent those who dig up dirt on everyone from having any hold over you.
And so, when you close your doors and create darkness within, remember never to say that you’re on your own, for in fact, you’re not alone, because God is within you, and your guardian spirit too. And what need do they have of light to see what you’re doing?

Such great advice. Assume absolute transparency. I still think that being able to publish your political thoughts anonymously has value, but one must assume that that veil of anonymity will be pulled back at any time.
Excellent analogy
It's not pessimism to ask yourself in every moment of activity or interaction or decision "What's the worst that could possibly happen?"-- physically, morally, spiritually, in relationships, in the future.
Classically, this was the Virtue of "Prudence".
https://infogalactic.com/info/Prudence
By now, almost everyone alive has said things in earshot of their phone that would get them fired in this environment. I think the only option at this point is to simply not care. Not revealing that you are an objectively depraved promethean is a lot easier.
Every man should have discipline.
Great to keep in mind.
The same principle is useful in life.
"If I say this and it gets back to a person, would I own it?"
Christians must live like that.
I have a similar policy for what I teach and say in class. Avoiding lies and slander made the online transition much more smooth.
Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
Out daily devotional actually had this exact message last night.
Try to imagine how much stronger a nation we would be if those claiming to be our leaders/representatives we're this transparent. If no one had dirt on them because there was no dirt to be had. Imagine no one in the pocket of a foreign government or corporation or evil entity. Imagine honest, truely honest, thoughts and ideas were discussed in the intellectual halls of education instead of diversity and equality.
What a different place this would be.
Nice quote, I read Epictetus 2 years ago on your recommendation. Stoicism was a direct line back to Christianity for me.
Been thinking about this very topic more and more lately. That I should live every moment as though there is a spotlight on me, and if anything i did was seen by everyone, that I wouldn’t be embarrassed or ashamed by any of it.
I'd posit that that is good advice for non-Christians and those on the left-of-center politically.
I was an early adopter of Dragon Naturally Speaking. Too early as the product initially sucked. I was surprised that smart phones could recognize speech as it takes a lot of computing power. I learned that the smart phones just transmit voice to the cloud where the computing takes place and maybe can even send text back to the user. I heard that some people even use it for dictation.
So, this text lives on in the cloud for as long as the servers want to keep it and I think the govt does not even need a warrant to snoop around. Keep that in mind.
Pelosi didn't show up to that hearing.
Arrested perhaps?
Shouldn’t you have a disclaimer that your site contains purely fictional content and gossip? Nothing you share comes to pass. It’s dangerous for less intelligent people because they take it as truth. Just a recommendation.
I do this for "muh free speech".
That is, not to be fooled by the left that has free speech handed to them on a platter. Seen too many to the right of Lenin think they could get away with the same notion.
Such as it is, thinking that which is free is worth nothing, I always operate on the notion that I need be ready to fight for what I would say or not say it at all.
Or to put it another way, decide if it worth saying.
It's a better way to live. Like back in the days when people used to get punched in the face.
Luke 8:17 "For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light."
This is why our Lord Jesus was a carpenter. :)
Words to live by.
I remember Bill Cooper speaking of a technology in the 1990's capable of recording every keystroke off of any computer hooked to the web. Not having any real background to speak of in web tech or computers I always treated that as if it were at bare minimum possible and have tried to treat any computer, device etc. as it were so. To err in caution if nothing else I guess.
I've been trying to have that mindset and it's definitely been helpful. It doesn't just take away the tools they try to use against you, it makes you more thoughtful and consistent over time.
Executive Order 13959 invoked according to Simon Parkes. Shit is on!

Speech to text doesn't work well for me - the cloud computers have a hard time with my voice. Maybe that's a blessing.

Was Epictetus Christian? He certainly sounds like more then a stoic philosopher with that quote.
I have cousins who are firmly entrenched in the levers of power. Facebook, Google, Wells Fargo, DC MSM-adjacent journalism. I am included in their group chats whenever they discuss journo-cousin's accomplishments in furthering the Luciferian agenda.
Every group chat is a battle against the temptation to lash out at them, call them VirusNazis, or give them an invitation to cancel-culture me so that I don't have to participate in their Clown World shitshow. Honestly, I'm all but checked-out of society ever since our whole world has converted itself into a pharmaceutical-diagnostic banana republic. Losing everything at this point would be a mercy.
Slightly off topic...

This philosophy kept a lot of people alive in East Germany.
There are, ultimately, no secrets.
There was a science fiction story I once read, about future observers using wormholes to view any point in the past. Asimov, I think.
It seemed a convoluted way to posit an Invisible Observer- i.e. God.
Remember- only desire that which it is just for you to desire, and only seek it after you've earned it.
No Country For Old Men turns out differently, if Moss never wants the suitcase in the first place.
There are no secrets.
I've been contemplating something like this from the angle of God's insistence on equal weights and measures. Jesus sums it up in Matthew 7:1-2. We are hoping and praying for the full exposure of darkness in the world, and this is exactly right. But we must recognize that the same measure will be used against us as well.
Better to let the light in than to have the door kicked down.
Epictetus is required reading.
Never heard of Simon Parkes until a couple people mentioned him.
Doesn't the New Age BS all over his site make him the least bit dubious?
Over the past several months, many people have asked what I would like to see from Trump, and my answer was always the same: a Grand Revelation. Total DECLAS. Everything on everybody. No more secrets. I’d gladly see my every sin revealed to the world if we get total transparency.
I like the idea of trying to live so that everyone at your funeral is talking about the same person.
EO 13959 is good. EO 13858 is BETTER. Time is running out, Mr President, and the Bailey Bridges are ready for your river crossing.
Momentary embarrassment and shame is vastly preferable to committing to a lie and damning yourself.
Reminds me of Heartiste's Jumbotron test
Slightly off-topic but, as someone was criticizing James Howard Kunstler on another post, it might be worth checking out his latest effort. For a NYC liberal, this guy counts as honest. He sees things as they really are. https://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/insurrection-versus-insurrection/
" Like back in the days when people used to get punched in the face."
Indeed. How many of the current gamma techlords have ever had their noses broken, or stuck their tongue through their own bloody lip, or said, "Great- six weeks til this heals".
Don't trust a man who hasn't, and don't fear them, either.
Zuckerberg, Dorsey, et al. What odds would you give yourself against any of them?
Very fair odds, I'd wager.
Simon Parkes is also saying DJT is about to address the nation. It will, if it takes place, happen on Fox. SP is not sure if other networks will cover it. Maybe they should - they might learn about what President Trump is going to do to them over the coming weeks and months.
I have decided, when I sin, to invite God in. Not to flaunt... it is when I need Him most! Amen.
Or just so drunk she couldn't find the door?
+1
At Least
Just heard a rumor that Trump will speak in 30 minutes, but have no idea how to access....
Guys in UK say Trump is speaking now. I can't find any other info.
@27. Light of other days, Clarke and Stephen Baxter. Good yarn. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Light_of_Other_Days
@ #22
LOL, yes that's certainly a possibility as well.
But I would like to think that they are aggressively interrogating her. Maybe shoving generic vanilla ice cream down her pie hold instead of her premium stuff.
Nice form of torture.

So, if a known whore-monger flags you down and tells you that the bridge 100 yards up ahead is out, are you going to drive on and "wait and believe it when you go over it."

I've seen whores show gratitude, act like decent humans. Whore-mongers? Never.
Never trust a pimp.
@dienw
That's retarded.
If I don't see a bunch if backed up traffic I might see for myself first before giving him enough credibility to knee jerk and take a 20 mile detour.
I've always treated the Internet as a living room...not my own. Common tact and courtesy is required in a public place.
So have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, say in the light, and what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. - Matthew 10:26-33
Jesus of Nazareth is risen from the dead and He is both Savior and Lord, offering forgiveness from sin and eternal life to all who put their trust in Him. He will return to both rescue His own and to execute judgment upon the unrepentant, ultimately receiving those who have called upon Him into His kingdom of eternal bliss while sending those who refused into the Lake of Fire. Choose wisely.
sage advice.
good advice, thank you... ‘Prudence’ also called ‘circumspection’, no?
My righteousness is as filthy rags. I am a sinner through and through.
But, I'm covered by the blood of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. His righteousness is perfect.
Isaiah 43:11
I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
He is my saviour.
Don't fear the "cloud"
Fear the one coming with them
"By now, almost everyone alive has said things in earshot of their phone that would get them fired in this environment. I think the only option at this point is to simply not care."
This. Big tech is so far-reaching and the far-Left so ravenous that it's pointless to fret at this point.
I had someone direct me to that latest video of his. A few things I've seen from other sources, some new. The opening section about the blackout in Pakistan to prevent GE from being sold to the Chinese seemed bunk. That sale would have to be approved by the State Department - remember Uranium One? - so no reason to hurry up and get the deal done when supposedly Beijing Joe is going to be in charge in a fortnight.
Then I looked up Simon Parkes and checked the "about" page on his site. Anyone who has a list of the different species of aliens he's interacted with immediately goes in the "nutter" file.
"So, if a known whore-monger flags you down and tells you that the bridge 100 yards up ahead is out"
The problem being, that 99 times out of 100 that whoremonger is going to finish that communication up by telling me I need to take a detour along some road where thieves are waiting for me, at which point I then wonder if the bridge is really out or there are just some whores blocking it.
