Don't expect us to keep up the pace

But since the whole point was to enter this into the contest ending June 30th, Episode 3 of Midnight's War, THE BLOOD MUST FLOW, is already live on Webtoons.

Still no word, however, on The Legend Chuck Dixon's entry....

The War for the Midnight World

Bounding Into Comics notes the release of MIDNIGHT'S WAR:
Vox Day’s Arkhaven Comics recently released a brand new vampire thriller series titled Midnight’s War. The series was released on the popular Web Toons platform and will consist of four episodes. The first episode titled “Not Even The Wicked Dead” was released on June 24th and Vox informs Bounding Into Comics the second episode will be released on June 26th.

The series is set in the distant future following an economic crisis that sees the vampire tribes come out of hiding in an attempt to take control of the Earth and humanity. They usurp Earth’s institutions including their media and governments and establish a new world order under the Great Concord of Gomorrah.

This new world order demanded humans provide a certain amount of blood to the vampire authorities every year.

However, while most of humanity might have fallen to the vampires and their new world, there are some humans who actively resist the vampires and in fact some human blood was not palatable to the vampires.
The first two episodes of MIDNIGHT'S WAR are live:
  1. Not Even The Wicked Dead
  2. They Also Serve
There will be two more episodes released prior to June 30th, which is when the short story contest ends. MIDNIGHT'S WAR is already one of the ten most popular entries in the Brain category, so it appears to have a decent shot at winning one of the prizes.

There is already serious studio interest in a series of movies based on MIDNIGHT'S WAR. The Legend and I have discussed working together on a regular monthly comic set in the Midnight World, but first we have to figure out how to support that as I don't wish to do any more crowdfunding campaigns until we deliver AH, AH:Q, and the Junior Classics.

Speaking of the first two series, the Avalon 1-6 omnibus is nearly ready, AH #7 and AH:Q #3 are also rapidly approaching release.

Some of the early reactions to MIDNIGHT'S WAR:
  • It's amazing to see how the art has improved in Arkhaven Comics as they develop the projects.
  • This needs to be made into a movie ASAP.... The setup here is what makes this extra-creepy.
  • That final panel needs to be a poster!
  • Incredible potential with this.
  • This is the best product around.
  • The level of art is far above mainline comics, you can actually tell what kind of pistol he carries.
  • Love the hero design, it makes me want to be a knight myself.

This may be the first sign

Sure, it looks like a simple bureaucratic slip-up, but can you be certain it isn't indicative of a more insidious situation?
The Internal Revenue Service issued about 1.1 million economic stimulus payments worth $1.4 billion to people who have recently died, which largely went to their next of kin.
I'm just saying the fact that people are dead doesn't mean they aren't economically active.

Not even the wicked dead

The first episode of Midnight’s War, NOT EVEN THE WICKED DEAD, is now available on Webtoons! It is my entry in the short story content. Rated adult for depictions of violence.

As it happens, we jumped the gun a little on the weekly Alt★Hero episode, so Episode 12 of Alt★Hero, LA SUPERMODEL, is also live now.

Intimidating intelligence

First, the new episode of Hypergamouse, INTIMIDATING INTELLIGENCE, is now live on Webtoons.

Second, the second book in the Castalia Library subscription, THE MEDITATIONS OF MARCUS AURELIUS ANTONINUS is now being bound. The first shipments should begin next week. This leads us to the following question:

We're now ready to start thinking about producing a non-subscription Castalia Library book every other month. What sort of books would you like to see us produce? These would be limited edition one-offs that would not require a subscription, just a 90-day preorder. These one-offs could include previously published books rebound in leather; for example, there are 200 copies of Umberto Eco's Numero Zero that we could acquire and rebind if there are enough Eco fans interested in having an Easton Press-style collector's edition.

The Library and Libraria subscriptions will continue as planned in any event. And our first priority, obviously, is finishing the Junior Classics and getting them out to the backers. But it's time for us to start discussing what we are going to do after that.

UPDATE: Let me be more specific. Exactly what titles would be of interest to those who would like to purchase one-offs? And are you only interested in books with interiors that we layout and print ourselves or are leather rebindings of the sort that Easton Press does of interest as well?

UPDATE: If you're not interested in buying leather-bound books, then I'm obviously not interested in your opinion. This discussion is not for you.

Filled out and authorized

Chuck Dixon's Avalon Episode 8, HAND IT OVER, is now live on Webtoons. I think we can safely expect a second brigading from the SJWs, so remember that the ride never ends.

Also, Brandon Fiadino has entered Chicago Typewriter into the short story competition. The second episode, THE MAGIC SHOP, is also live on Webtoons now.

And in UATV news, the server passed its most serious traffic test with flying colors. Despite more than doubling its previous peak traffic upon news of the release of the Big Bear's documentary of his You're Doing Great, Kid tour on Unauthorized, the server never even blinked momentarily. In fact, if the statistics can be trusted, it should be able to handle nearly 20 times more traffic with ease.

Which will be very important once we start using it to live-stream. Also, if you're just signing up now, please note that you'll need to wait until the weekend to receive your invites. We have to create new invitations for you due to the server being on an entirely different system.

No rest for the wicked

Episode 7 of Alt★Hero, No Rest for the Wicked, is now live on Webtoons. As you'll see, we're sticking with the European storyline that follows the characters introduced in the first issue rather than following the order in which the issues were released.

Tell, don't show!

Episode 2 of Quantum Mortis: A Man Disrupted is now live on Webtoons.

In not-entirely-unrelated news, Dark Legion Comics has submitted its first entry in the Webtoons story contest. Episode 1 of Chicago Typewriter is now live.

Then they came for Chuck Dixon

Reddit SJWs are attempting, with limited success, to brigade the latest episode of Chuck Dixon's Avalon by leaving negative comments and driving the rating down. They have managed to drive it down to about 7.6 from the 9.6 it was before. There are only about 20 of them, but that's been enough, apparently.  UPDATE: they've actually driven it below 7.0 now. As if that will accomplish anything. Gammas....

And in other Arkhaven news, Hypergamouse Episode 4, EVOLUTION IN ACTION, is now live.

For UATV subscribers, there is a new episode of Barcelona Life up on the new UATV site, featuring what I can testify is an excellent Kung Pao Chicken recipe.

Hero of Avalon

Episode 7 in Chuck Dixon's Avalon, HERO OF AVALON, is now live on Webtoons. If you haven't subscribed to it yet, please do so and help The Legend hit the 1,000-subscriber benchmark there.

Also, apologies to the Replatformers for the delay in getting this month's book links out to you. They should be going out to you today, and an additional week in June has been added to the download deadline.

F=MA

The cultural offensive in the comics world continues! Episode 6 of Alt★Hero is live on Webtoons with F=MA. The number three position on the Superhero chart is now within reach! It's very easy to support, just download the app on your device and subscribe to the comic.

And in Unauthorized news, Medieval History episodes I - VII are now live on the new UATV site, as are three extended audiobook samples from Corporate Cancer, Corrosion, and A Throne of Bones. We also expect to extend invites to all of the Feed the Bear subscribers, as well as to subscribers to David the Good, the Legend, and Wranglerstar later today.

We now have 163 videos/MP3s on the new site, with more being uploaded every day. Once all the subscribers have access to the new site, we will begin the process of transferring the domain name and the Google and Roku apps to it.

UPDATE: All the Bears and Legend subscribers have been invited.

For the benefit of those who don't understand that this is an entirely new web site that has nothing to do with mobile or device apps of any kind yet, please try to grasp that YOU CANNOT USE THE GOOGLE AND ROKU APPS. They are linked to an entirely different site that has nothing to do with this one yet.

UPDATE: Login bug alert. There was a hash error that is keeping some new accounts from logging in. FFS... I'll post here when it's fixed and you can try again.

UPDATE: All right, the login bug has been fixed. If you had the login failure where the two fields just clear after you hit enter and you're not logged in, try it again now. And if you're technical, there is no need to state the obvious. We know and will deal with it soon. One thing at a time.

Quantum Mortis on Thursdays

Quantum Mortis fans will be pleased to know that Arkhaven Comics will be publishing weekly episodes on Webtoons. They will also note that we have touched up the illustrations and recolored the entire first issue. Episode 1, Military Assistance, is already live. If you're an Arkhaven backer, please don't hesitate to subscribe.

And Arkhaven now has your weekdays covered, with webtoons running every Monday through Friday. We'll be adding more soon, as Chicago Typewriter, Go, Monster, Go!, and Knights in Shadow are all in production now. With the traditional comics industry reeling, this is what William S. Lind would describe as the obvious schwerpunkt.
