Voxiversities are up again

One step at a time. The techs are still making infrastructure changes, so if something isn't working properly, please don't email me, just wait a few hours and try again. Also, please note that the fact that the screen still says "Login" does not mean you are not logged in. It is an inability to play a paywalled video that indicates you are not logged in.

As noted in the title, all 12 Voxiversities are now playable and downloadable again. I hope to record one or two new ones this weekend, time permitting.

Chuck Dixon on Comics #16 is now up as well, featuring his fascinating recounting of the history of the GI JOE franchise.

Voxiversity 012: The Socio-Sexual Hierarchy: Gamma

The producer did a great job on this one in covering for my failure to provide him with usable video. I filmed it on the same day as the Alpha video, but didn't bother to check the recording, so I didn't realize that the camera's autofocus completely ignored me and thereby rendered the entire video useless. But we had a solid audio track and the content was good, so we decided to go ahead and run with it anyhow. I will say, however, that despite the higher degree of difficulty involved, the ending is phenomenal.
This guy gets it, right down to the formatting. A comment on YouTube:
Listen, Vox. Let me make this as simple as possible for you and your audience. I’ll try to make it easy for you, but you have to understand where I’m coming from. Everywhere I go people tell me I’m smart. They look up to me. They respect me. I’m an authority on these things and I want you to know that. No one really believes that you’re leading this organization in the right direct. Ackchshually, I’m not going to tell you and your audience what needs to be done. I’m going to spare you colloquial diction and vernacular too. Do you realize what you just passed up? I told you in your comment section to listen to me. But you banned me. I was debate team champ in 10th grade. My teachers thought of me as the next great orator and thinker in Western civilization, “A Son of Cicero if there ever was one,” said my AP history teacher. It really doesn’t compute does it? Your obsequiousness to tedious childlike infantilisms really knows no bounds. You know what, Vox? I’m glad I ran into your operation on Vox Populi. It reminded me that I’ve outgrown you. Have a great day, chump.
Flawless execution. Truly well done.

Mailvox: getting past gamma

After yesterday's new Voxiversity release, I'm getting a number of emails like these:
I was recently introduced to you by Owen, and after learning more from your past post. I learnt that I am a recovering Gamma. Although you made it clear that you don't like gammas, I am writing this email in the hopes that it is different for recovering ones.

While investigating it further, I have came upon this point of Gamma behavior:

Now that you think about it, in this last year or two you can recall several women cracking jokes at your expense, mocking you, degrading you to their friends, and otherwise holding you in low regard without any fear of consequences.

It was during a group discussion and she mocked me at not being good with woman, coming to tears just thinking of it. (God, why am i so weak...) This one hits me the hardest as it has happened at a church group and I wasn't able to defend myself, I didn't know how to interact with women all my life.

They are good guys, and I tend to make it a habit of mine to make myself the butt of the joke to lighten the mood, but this humiliation cuts close to bone if I am being honest. I take humiliation from the guys regularly and are okay with it for the most part. Please talk more about how to move past that gamma stage if you would like.
First, let me make it clear that what I dislike so intensely about gammas is their common pattern of behavior. It's nothing personal. I just dislike dishonesty, posturing, false poses of superiority, unasked-for criticism, passive-aggression, and cowardice, all of which happen to be behavioral attributes of the average gamma male. And I certainly approve of when a gamma finally gets sick of himself and decides he's going to stop handicapping his potential by continuing to behave that way.

So, I very much recommend that every gamma who wants to improve himself read the following four posts at Alpha Game, the series titled Graduating Gamma:
  1. Step One: Physical
  2. Step Two: Spiritual
  3. Step Three: Emotional
  4. Step Four: Mental

Voxiversity 011: The Socio-Sexual Hierarchy: Alpha

Voxiversity is back and on track with the 11th video, the second in the Socio-Sexual Hierarchy series, which addresses the topic of the Alpha rank and behavioral pattern. We have a new producer, hand-picked by the previous producer who I am pleased to observe is rapidly becoming too successful and important to make YouTube videos for me, and I think you will see that he made the right choice.

Our goal is to not only get back to the original goal of making two Voxiversity videos per month, but to make more than that, assuming that we can maintain the level of quality that has been established. Voxiversity 012 will address the Gamma and will be released a lot sooner than you probably expect.

Burning the deadwood

There is certainly nothing like the mention of the state of Israel and one's opinion concerning it to bring out the lurking spergs, alt-retards, and other undesirables on a YouTube channel. I'm no enthusiast of the "look how virtuously moderate poor little me is because I am attacked by Left and Right" approach, but I will confess that it can be a little bit bewildering to find oneself being accused of a) antisemitism and b) being a Mossad agent within the space of two comments.

MPAI but SPASC. Which is to say Most People Are Idiots but Some People are Seriously Crazy.

Anyhow, the good thing about YouTube is that unlike Blogger, it makes it very easily to permanently disappear a commenter and his comments for good with just a single click. This is absolutely necessary there, as otherwise every single channel would have the comments turned off for good.

But the good news is that the video offensive continues making solid progress. The Darkstream now has nearly 20k subscribers, and if you haven't subscribed to it yet I would encourage you to do so even if you're not a big video watcher, for the extended audiobook samples if nothing else. Voxiversity has been on inadvertent hiatus due to the high demand for its producer, and that demand is only going to grow from here for reasons that will be clear in due course, so I've hired another producer who is very good at his recommendation and we anticipate releasing at least two Voxiversities in March.

There is also a third video front that is going to launch very soon for which I am seeking an tech-savvy volunteer from the VFM who has a) plenty of free time and a good Internet connection, b) doesn't mind dealing with tedious uploads, and c) has some ability to create simple image collages of the sort that I create for the Darkstream every night. I'm only looking for VFM at the moment, so if you're not VFM, please don't volunteer. If you qualify and you're interested, please email me.

In other news, multiple arbitration processes have formally commenced. I can't say more than that at the moment, and I may not be able to say much more once they have concluded, but I will share what I permitted to share. And to those who have expressed a desire to bring independent actions, I would recommend continuing to hold fire for the time being.

History is not hate speech

The Voxiversity video SINK THE SHIPS has been removed from YouTube. You can still view it on BitChute. YouTube has also assigned a warning strike to the Voxiversity channel.
Hi Voxiversity,

As you may know, our Community Guidelines describe which content we allow – and don’t allow – on YouTube. Your video "Sink The Ships" was flagged for review. Upon review, we’ve determined that it violates our guidelines. We’ve removed it from YouTube and assigned a Community Guidelines strike, or temporary penalty, to your account.

Video content restrictions
We encourage free speech and defend everyone's right to express their points of view, even if unpopular. However, YouTube doesn't allow hate speech. Sometimes there's a fine line between what is and isn't considered hate speech. If you're not sure whether or not your content crosses the line, we ask that you don't post it. Learn more here.

The impact of strikes
This is the first strike applied to your account. We understand that users seldom intend to violate our policies. That’s why strikes don’t last forever – this strike will expire in three months. However, it’s important to remember that additional strikes could prevent you from posting content to YouTube or even lead to your account being terminated.

How you can respond
If you believe this was a mistake, we’d like to hear from you. Please follow both of these steps as simply deleting the video won’t resolve the strike on your account.

    - The next time you sign in you will be asked to acknowledge this strike on your account.
    - If you would like to appeal this strike, please submit this form. Our team will thoroughly review your appeal and will contact you again very soon.

Sincerely,
- The YouTube Team
I appealed the strike and pointed out that history is not "hate speech", that advocating the defense of national borders is not "hate speech", and that endorsing military action is not "hate speech". But this is yet another reminder of how it is vital to build our own platforms and utilize non-converged platforms like BitChute.

If YouTube does not remove the strike, I will investigate switching my Darkstream channel chat over to Stream.Me in the place of the YouTube chat until the strike expires. This action is further evidence, as if any was needed, that SJWs will attempt to eliminate history that contradicts the current narrative.

UPDATE: Upon further review, YouTube has decided that history is hate speech.
Dear Voxiversity:

Thank you for submitting your video appeal to YouTube.

After further review of the content, we've determined that your video does violate our Community Guidelines and have upheld our original decision. We appreciate your understanding.

Sincerely,

— The YouTube Team
I'm sure you're just as shocked as I am.

Voxiversity 010: Rhetoric and Dialectic

Voxiversity 010: Rhetoric and Dialectic is a bit different than previous Voxiversities, as it was filmed live in Barcelona in front of the Foundation members, who chose the topic and were throwing me questions while we were filming in order to help me remember to hit some of the important aspects of the subject.

The live element definitely led to some minor issues, such as the wind interfering with the audio and me declaring incorrectly that Aristotle lived around 2400 BC. Just to be clear, the latter is NOT true, he lived about 2400 years ago. But these mistakes notwithstanding, viewers are already declaring this to be one of the best and most substantive Voxiversities of the ten to date.
As you can see from the video, we had a really good time at the Foundation meeting and there was considerable strategerizing. We expect to announce one of the chief outcomes of that meeting early in the new year.

Why would you do that?

The question really answers itself. From the comments on the recent Voxiversity video on the Socio-Sexual hierarchy:
Captain Memo: Why reverse gamma and delta though? gamma comes before delta in the alphabet.

Scott Birch: Delta signifies change. Deltas are mostly like to shift socio-sexual profiles in their journey through life. This is mentioned in the video.

Captain Memo: Still why not describe gammas first since that makes alphabetical sense? And how does Delta signify change? It's a letter.

Scott Birch: Google is your friend, "Captain".

Captain Memo: I did that. It signifies difference between quantities in a mathematical sense. I guess you could steelman voxday and say that it's about change. But why reverse the two letters in the presentation? It seems to me that he doesn't know the correct order. Or maybe he did this because he wanted to shit on Peterson last for more effect.

VD: Because a) the labels are irrelevant and b) it serves as useful Gamma bait. You can always count on the Gammas to sperg out on the irrelevant details just to show what Smart Boys they are. The hierarchy is what it is. The behaviors exist. It's not a freaking test of your knowledge of the alphabet, FFS.
You can always, Always, ALWAYS count on a Gamma to completely miss the point in search of a way to publicly demonstrate that he is a Smart Boy. If the Gamma is not arguing that the Alpha-Beta hierarchy has been disproven due to new research on wolf packs, he is obsessing over whether an alphabet that not one percent of the English-speaking population knows is being correctly cited in order.

I couldn't help but laugh at the additional Gamma tell, as if it was needed. "It seems...."

Every single time.

This is why you just ignore them

I don't bother arguing with women and gammas anymore, mostly because I have noticed that the participation of a second party is really not required for them to engage in a lengthy debate. All that is necessary is for them to notice something that triggers their emotions. This is the hilarious, but very informative response of one woman to the recent Voxiversity video.
FSP: I'm at the 12:54 mark and I have to kind of laugh (I mean I don't mean to be mean & all) but YOU (I think you're a man) but you're talking about what a woman wants?  (oh, this is rich... I'm going to keep watching).  "Write her poems"?  Did you just say that?   It's not that a man hasn't written me a poem, but that's what... this would take too long to explain to you. LOL

Now... would an "Omga" also produce a podcast (like this one)?  I'M JUST ASKING...  Now, you also said "do not put an attractive woman with an Alpha man" as of course, she can't control herself she's just gonna have to jump his bones!?   HA HA HA HA... shhhh okay I'll be quiet & listen some more.

You have put men in only 5 social standings.  They don't grow or change, life situations don't kind of play a part in changes in his life?  So, to you, a man that has 2 or more of these qualities is... either non-existent or what... an oddball?

Do you want my take on this?  You really don't know people very deeply do you?  And, you don't like people very much do you?  Just guessing.

VD:  "Do you want my take on this?" Not even a little bit.

DAVE: Ha-ha-ha, Vox so cruel. But I think this is a woman, right? Only another woman knows what a woman wants, right? Shouldn't we ask for pics to verify her familiarity with Alpha men? I'm not really seeing any other evidence that leads me to believe she has any experience here.

FSP: Dear Dave, you think Voxster is "cruel"?  "Are you serious?  His response comes nowhere NEAR "cruel".   It was a matter of fact for him (and totally predictable).  As for my experience with your so-called "Alpha" men.  You want a resume?  I think it would blow you away.  Pretty gets me in the door, but (as my sister calls me) tenaciousness can bring you to your knees.

No, I don't use it much unless I have to.  Which is very seldom.  An "alpha" man as you like to believe in needs a good spanking from time to time.  AND those are the ones I do not like.  You see this guy Vox?  He'd LOVE a good spanking.  That's how much of an "alpha" he is LOL, but you'd have to know men, as well as I do to understand that at all.  They talk a good game but honey... well, let's just say their bark is worse than their bite.

My husband and my son are true "Alphas" however, they know when to use it and when it is very unwise to use it, especially in business and dealing with others.  Oh, and my daughter, well let's just say she's as sweet as pie until she's not.  Yes, dear, we taught them early.

FSP: Of COURSE, you don't want anyone's "take" on anything. You're terrified of any actual input that would correct your obvious errors.  I could be so cruel here, I feel like being cruel actually because I detest bullies and philistines such as yourself.

Your smug arrogance gave you away long ago.  Only lowbrow people of suspect character act the way you do.  Your "holier than thou" attitude smacks of lack of true character or empathy for your fellow man.  Your distaste for women is palpable, only overdone by your thinly veiled euphemisms towards men.

I bet children and puppies recoil at any wayward glance you would dully turn their way.  You want so desperately to be respected as some kind of know it all.  Instead, you are an aging bald man sitting in an old chair recovered in the cheapest of red velvet, surrounded by books you either haven't read or God forbid speak of the darker side of mankind.

So, you would ask me (I'm so sure of your limited thought process)... why then do you bother to write or listen?  Reason 1: I like to listen to people I disagree with because we can learn from them.  Reason 2: Because sometimes people just have to tell an ass hat, when they ARE an ass hat.  You, sir, are an ass hat.

and no, I won't be listening anymore you're what is commonly called a total waste of time.
What I found chiefly noteworthy was the way the woman's response is eerily similar to the way that an angry gamma responds when triggered, right down to the false avowal of disengagement. Whoever described the gamma as a female mindset in a male body definitely had it right.

I do wonder, however, what it was that happened to trigger her so.

Voxiversity Episode 009

The production team and I are pleased to announce Voxiversity Episode 009: THE SOCIO-SEXUAL HIERARCHY

The bestselling author of THE IRRATIONAL ATHEIST and ON THE EXISTENCE OF GODS explains the socio-sexual hierarchy and the five primary ranks into which it is divided.
Thanks very much to all the Voxiversity and Darkstream backers who are making these videos possible. A pertinent comment from YouTube on that note: To all those responsible for the continued existence of Voxiversity: Thank you for the knowledge-rich content.

Winestream: Foundation edition

We had an amazing time at the Voxiversity Foundation DinnerWeekend. There was considerable discussion, strategery, and analysis of both the IGG situation and the upcoming movie project intermingled with excellent food provided by a Spanish chef who skillfully reinvented everything from paella to the burger. The wines were phenomenal, ranging from the local Priorats to my favorite Ribiero del Duero, and at the request of one attendee, we even did a live Winestream sampling an Israeli cabernet. We also did a live Voxiversity on rhetoric and dialectic that will be out in November.

If you'd like to attend next year's dinner, which we collectively decided will again be in Spain, consider becoming a Foundation backer. (Please note that the various subscriptions are MONTHLY.) I can't speak for anyone else who was there, but the event was not only extremely enjoyable, it was incredibly productive.

Mailvox: "a very cringeworthy video"

This reaction to the recent Voxiversity video is a beautiful example of its kind. It really has to be read in full to be appreciated. Thanks to the more than 500 comments on the video, it has become abundantly clear that Jordan Peterson is little more than a short-term philosophical drug for life's losers that makes them feel a little better about themselves for a while; they respond to criticism of him rather like a crackhead being denied a desperately-needed hit.

Largesse1000
This is a very cringeworthy video. The editing is quite shocking, and totally distracts from any points you choose to make. Yes, some of his many fans are deluded and seeking leadership, and he is frequently obscure, however, he has more than proved himself worthy of his current position. It is simply not true to say his elevation has been born through adulation. He has been made in opposition to great criticism. A lesser person, you for instance, would have crumpled after a few months. He has balls. That's the first thing. Next, for his simple referencing of Solzenhitsyn, Frankl and Dostoevsky to a new generation he is to be greatly commended. No, Aristotle and other greats are not mentioned, so fucking what? He was not writing a treatise on Western thought, just a string of ideas. Finally, his central message is very simple, namely life is hard if you live it and suffering is always present. This is a core idea of Christianity and Buddhism and exists because it is true. This is liberating to many who have been told that perfection is a goal, happiness is achievable and self worth is defined by how many bucket list items you tick off. He has simply reinstated a core experience of life and articulated in a way that people can understand. It has transformed people's lives, whether you find him phoney or not. No one has managed to do this for about 70 years, no one. Therapists, gurus, and even traditions religion has failed in this, and it took an obscure professor from Canada to do this. You have been accused of jealously, and that accusation stands. The hatchet job here is quite pathetic, since you just pick away at trivia. I have stated clear arguments above, which demonstrate very simply that he has done a good thing, by introducing just a few core ideas (complexity of life, suffering, personal responsibility and the importance of the individual to the West). To criticise this is pure madness, and articulate as you are, your words are completely hollow. I suggest, without respect, you shut the fuck up, or actually comment on the positive contributions of this man over the last three years. I will now watch your channel and comment increasingly if I deem it fit. Some may read my thoughts. Some of us are sick of opinionated little clever shits, who do fuck all in the real world while assuming some sort of superiority in the digital. Ultimately it has no meaning. Peterson has let it all hang out, he has demonstrated integrity and seeks the good. He is not perfect, will be ephemeral, and will be followed by some sheep. However, give the man his due. You are jealous, and it is a very unpleasant character trait. I gained nothing from this video, accept the urge to come around your house and smash your fucking PC up. Now be a good chap, go and have a wank and take your hot chocolate.

The Crazy Christ's cultists are unhappy

In less than 24 hours, there have already been over ten thousand views of the latest Voxiversity video. One early commenter correctly anticipated the calm and measured response of Jordan Peterson's fans to it.

David. D
Great video Vox, now let's wait for all the Peterson fanboys to tell us how jealous and bitter you are, without providing any good arguments to refute what you defend in the video.

He was not disappointed. Nor was he incorrect about their near-complete inability to even begin dealing with the substantive issues raised about Peterson's lack of courage, character, and intellectual integrity. A representative collection of their comments follows the break:

Voxiversity 2.0

Voxiversity is back with a vengeance. The production team and I are pleased to announce Voxiversity Episode 007, THE MADNESS OF JORDAN PETERSON.

The bestselling author of THE IRRATIONAL ATHEIST and ON THE EXISTENCE OF GODS exposes Dr. Jordan Peterson as an intellectual charlatan, an anti-Christian globalist, and a mentally unstable defender of the neo-liberal world order by extensively quoting Peterson's own incoherencies and inconsistencies in context.
We're also sending out an email today to all the Voxiversity backers to let them know it is possible to support Voxiversity again through direct monthly subscriptions. If you wish to join them, you can do so now via the Castalia House Store. Based on my improved understanding of how the video audience-building process works, we've integrated the Darkstream with the Voxiversity. By supporting one or the other, you will be supporting both. This is also more cost-efficient than going through a Patreon-style service. Please note these are all MONTHLY subscriptions.
Note that site registration is required for recurring subscriptions. We'll put a site up on Oneway to keep track of the number of backers and so forth, but there is no need to sign up through that. The revised idea is to use the regular Darkstreams to address the various issues brought up by the backers faster and on a more regular basis, while utilizing the Voxiversity episodes to address the deeper issues more substantively.

Thanks to all the backers for your patience as we dealt with the various obstacles presented, and special thanks in particular to the Foundation members, who stepped in and maintained their support for the program even through the two-month hiatus.

Mailvox: moving Voxiversity

A backer wants to know how he can support Voxiversity:
Is it possible to support Voxiversity other than Freestartr?  It appears to be down.
Freestartr is down, apparently thanks to Stripe's shenigans, and they have not been able to get anything up and running in the time period I discussed with them. Nor have any of the backers been able to contribute anything since May. So, after consulting with several backers, I've arranged to get the campaign up on a new site which I will announce as soon as it is ready later this week. I hope most of the backers will be able to make the transition to the new site.

We will have two Voxiversity videos out in August. I've been focusing on building up the Darkstream subscriber base in the meantime. While they are two different channels, from my perspective, it's a single video front, so supporting one is supporting the other. There is a lot of room for improvement, of course, but we are making steady progress, these occasional setbacks and delays notwithstanding. I've also been working on something that will have a major impact on everything from Castalia to Voxiversity, and I hope to be able to announce something about that before the end of October.

In not-entirely-unrelated news, I will be appearing on the Alex Jones show today at 1 PM Central today to discuss comics and culture war, among other things.

And for those of you who have been repeatedly asking me for essential book recommendations, I've put together short book lists for what I consider to be the best in literaturehistory, science fiction, and fantasy at the Castalia Direct Store. I'll be adding to these in the future, this is just a bare-bones beginning.

Freestartr-Stripe update

I've spoken to several of the individuals involved and I have been told that Freestartr expects to have the situation resolved within a week or so. My understanding - and it is only that - is that they started working on a replacement since they were originally informed there was going to be a problem, but Stripe suddenly moved up the timing on them without warning. Freestartr was also informed that the action was at the insistence of a certain financial partner, but the claim was subsequently determined to be false.

So, there appears to be no reason to alter anything in order to ensure the continued support for Voxiversity and the Darkstream. But if my information is incorrect and we need to do something different, I already have a backup plan lined up. Regardless, if you're a backer and you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.

Stripe cuts off Freestartr and Bitchute

So much for Stripe as a Paypal alternative.
I thought I might share a few thoughts with you on what I regard as the biggest issue of our time: tech apartheid.

Silicon Valley wants you to believe that it is a force for good but the evidence of its bias and fraudulent dealings couldn’t be more obvious even to a fair, impartial observer.

Most recently this duplicity concerns payment processing, namely the fraudulent company Stripe which canceled FreeStartr’s account despite record low chargebacks. FreeStartr wasn’t alone. All of those companies who had their accounts suspended — Bitchute (a YouTube competitor), MakerSupport (a Patreon competitor), and FreeStartr.com (a Patreon, Kickstarter competitor)– were created by Trump supporters.

This canceling of our business was done for political reasons by Edwin Wee, a Democratic political operative turned Stripe employee, and it exposes the libertarian lie that one can simply just go and create a competitor if one dislikes Silicon Valley ventures. You can’t. We need to get over that canard.

I’ll delve into the parochial issues concerning FreeStartr’s banning from Stripe later, but I am thoroughly convinced that if action isn’t taken in the very near future, our politics will be permanently titled to the far left for the foreseeable future. Ask your congressmen, your friends, to speak out on this issue and take necessary corrections.

We’ve had other discussions about the censorship and Google, Facebook, and Twitter, and yes, those trends are extremely worrisome. But what I’m talking about here as concerns Stripe and PayPal is far more dangerous both for politics and for our society writ large.

Every regime has scapegoats, and ours is no different. Whether you’ve participated in a Twitter mob and/or been its target, you know its power. Ours is a herd based species, and it is quite disturbing the speed with which mores can shift. What was once commonplace — big game hunting, smoking, corporal punishment, etc., — become frowned upon, then the province of cranks, and ultimately unthinkable. There is increasingly good social science evidence for how this process unfolds — where a small minority changes the standards of behavior in a population. Sometimes these changes are so abrupt as to be jarring and yes, even violent. Twitter mobs force you off of their platforms and begin the practice of targeting your employment, your spouse’s employment, etc. until you are ruined. There is no due process here.
One has to wonder what the people at Stripe are thinking. If they're just going to be another arm of SJW enforcement, there is simply no need for their services. One might as well not use Paypal as not use Stripe, after all....

Voxiversity supporters, I think the smart move is to wait and see how Freestartr handles this before we come up with any alternative plans in order to keep the video offensive going.

The Last Closet and the reality of evil

If you haven't watched the latest Voxiversity video yet, you really should. While reading 12 Rules for Life, I noted that Jordan Peterson claims "evil is the desire to cause suffering, where suffering is not necessary." This demonstrates that he doesn't know a single goddamn thing about real, material, conscious evil, which has absolutely nothing to do with the desire to cause suffering, but rather, the desire to do as one pleases.

And Jesus Christ is not a myth or a metaphor. He the only way, and the only truth, to systematically combat that very real, material, and conscious evil.
