They done did it

Minneapolis abolishes the Minneapolis Police Department:
Minneapolis City Council votes unanimously for proposal that could replace Police Department

Less than three weeks after they promised to begin work on “ending” the Minneapolis Police Department, some City Council members pushed forward a new vision for law enforcement Friday that could still include officers on the streets.

The council voted unanimously to advance a proposal that would create a new Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention. Within that, the city could create a division that includes “licensed peace officers,” though it would not be required to do so.

It’s unclear how many, if any, officers would continue to be employed by the city if the proposal passes.

Council Member Cam Gordon said it’s consistent with the pledge from council members to fundamentally alter local policing in the wake of George Floyd’s killing by Minneapolis officers.

“Those things that we called the police department are gone,” Gordon said. “Certainly, there is a provision in here that would allow this council or future councils to maintain a Division of Law Enforcement Services, but I think what we need to do is have that possibility there and talk to people about what the future should look like.”
It's amusing to see that they're already trying to go back on their proposal, and the Star Tribune is attempting to give them cover to do so. This is the inevitable problem when parasites try to rule. They have absolutely no ability to actually do anything except subvert and undermine.

That's why their periods of "rule" tend to be more akin to interregnums.

What Minneapolis will end up with, of course, is the same MPD by another name. Because word play is the only play in the lunatic playbook.

The cops are quitting

A 27-year veteran police commander explains why he is abandoning the profession:
Doctors kill 250,000 people a year. They call them “medical mistakes” because society understands that they do a very difficult job under high stress and they must make the best possible decision in the moment.

Law enforcement is tasked with the same and we are highly successful. Despite the most violent society we have ever seen, less than 1,000 suspects are killed a year. 96% are attacking us with weapons and all but a few others are attacking us with their cars or their fists and more and more with simulated guns so Benjamin Crump (an American civil rights attorney) can help their family win the lottery.

I’ve seen cops risk their own lives when they shouldn’t have… just to keep from taking one.

They never get the credit that other professions get.

Cowards are all around us. From chiefs to sheriffs to politicians, no one has our back.

Now, the little we have, we are told they are going to defund us or even abolish us. Citizens with a political agenda will reign over us and all you have to do is wake up and put on a uniform to be a racist.

This weekend I received death threats for just doing my job. It would have been outrageous a decade ago and made national news.

Now, it’s just a Monday.

There will be more threats, more accusations of racism and more lies told about us.

I used to talk cops out of leaving the job. Now I’m encouraging them.

It’s over America. You finally did it.

You aren’t going to have to abolish the police, we won’t be around for it.
On the one hand, it's impossible to blame the man. Everything that he says is true. On the other hand, he leaves out a lot of the changes that have taken place over the course of the last 40 years. It must be admitted that many U.S. police forces helped bring the present situation about, as since the 1980s they were methodically corrupted. The combination of police unions, qualified immunity, militarization, asset seizures, affirmative action, and an unwillingness to convict genuinely bad cops resulted in a transformation from public servants keeping the peace to Law Enforcement Officers.

The police chose the wrong side and served the elite against the people. Now they stand in the way of the elite's plans for what passes for society, so they are being cast aside and cannot reasonably expect any substantive support from the white Americans whose interests they have systematically betrayed for at least the last four decades.

All in all, it strikes me as an excellent time to launch a private security corporation.

NASCAR completes its convergence

Between the banning of the Confederate flag and the announcement of a Black Lives Matter car, NASCAR should be all but out of business after another decade of decline:
NASCAR has officially banned the Confederate flag from its races and properties just a day after its only black driver, Bubba Wallace, demanded it be removed.

On Wednesday, NASCAR officials said in a statement that the Confederate flag 'runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors and our industry'.

'Bringing people together around a love for racing and the community that it creates is what makes our fans and sport special. The display of the confederate flag will be prohibited from all NASCAR events and properties.'
Once you permit the SJW infestation, it's only a matter of time before they converge the institution. And once they metastasize, there is no coming back from it. The only thing left to do is build something new and do a better job of keeping them out next time.

A police-free Minneapolis

This should prove to be more than a little amusing:
Minneapolis City Council members have announced their intention to make radical changes in the city's police department in the wake of violent protests that were sparked by the death of George Floyd, an African-American man who died in police custody.

Nine of the council's 12 members appeared at a rally in a city park Sunday afternoon and vowed to end policing as the city currently knows it.

The council members ended up standing before hundreds of people on a grassy hill and pledged to begin the process of taking apart the Police Department in its current form.
Council Member Jeremiah Ellison promised that the council would 'dismantle' the department.
At another protest on Saturday, Rep. Ilhan Omar declared 'it's time to disband the Minneapolis Police Department. I will never cosign on funding a police department that continues to brutalize us and I will never stop saying, not only do we need dis-invest police but we need to completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department,' she said.
Of course, they may not have any police willing to work there much longer anyhow. One friend was speaking to a longtime officer today and it appears that a significant percentage of the MPD is now eligible for retirement and is increasingly inclined to take it.

He mentioned he had been on the force for nearly 30 years and had concerns about others that are “retirement-eligible” resigning - some have already in light of the recent events and almost 20% of the force is currently eligible.

At some point, it is going to occur to the general population that the ever-present problem is not the police.

Patreon ups the ante

Because it is being methodically and systematically trounced in arbitration, Patreon has resorted to the unusual - if not to say entirely insane - tactic of threatening to file lawsuits against its users who have done nothing more than follow the rules imposed upon them unilaterally by Patreon.

This appears to be a desperation move that was inspired by the complete failure of their lawyers to consolidate, coordinate, or otherwise group the parties in order to avoid the inevitable expenses of scores of simultaneous arbitrations by the users they had wronged.

Of course, as I've previously pointed out, every attack creates an opening, and the opening they've created here can only be described as comprehensive. For you see, in addition to the deceptive practices they've already committed, and in addition to their attempts to remove the consumer protection laws from their creators, Patreon is now attempting to strip consumer protections from all of their users, creators and patrons alike. At this point, every move they make only serves to create new vulnerabilities.

In this case, if they actually follow through on their current posturing and start serving their users, what this will do is allow the Legal Legion to move any lawsuit filed in a state court to Federal court, then file counterclaims that include one or more class actions on behalf of a) all of Patreon's creators as well as b) all of Patreon's users.

If necessary, we will also be setting up a legal defense fund, not to pay for the Legion's services, but to demonstrate that the Patreon users being attacked by Patreon will be protected in the extremely unlikely event that a lunatic Federal judge decides that Patreon has somehow been damaged by its users legitimately exercising the rights imposed upon them by Patreon.

Of course, literally all of the relevant law and case law, both state and Federal, points to this being either a) Patreon attempting to commit suicide by law, or b) Patreon's lawyers desperately trying to convince Patreon to keep writing them the checks that it shouldn't have written in the first place. This legal "strategy", to the extent that one can call it that, is so obviously futile that if you're financially dependent upon Patreon in any way, I would not count on it being around in 12 months.

Ahead of the curve

As seen on Socialgalactic:
"Cities are done."
- Scott Adams, 1 June 2020

Scott Adams sure is ahead of the curve. And that curve is donkeys that suffer from severe mental retardation. What clued you in Scott? The nationwide race riots only in cities? Or the fact cold and flu season can shut down all commerce for months? Scott Adams thinks he’s crushing it because he gets his info from Fox AND CNN.
- The Big Bear
I liked Scott Adams a lot better when he simply commented on the corpocracy with cartoons. This ridiculous social Nostradamus routine of his is both tedious and unconvincing. I mean, how impressed is anyone supposed to be that he predicted Trump was going to win before he predicted Trump was going to lose before he predicted Trump was going to win again?

The Boogaloos

Forget the Alt-Right! The retarded Left has a brand new bogeyman: The Boogaloos!

I was talking to a friend in Minneapolis when a guy pulled up on a motorcycle and explained to him that the violence wasn't committed by the locals, it was by armed, white supremacists from outside the Twin Cities called Boogaloos who have travelled to Minneapolis in order to provoke a civil war. He's got friends in the FBI who told him all about them, Governor Walz has even warned people about the dangerous Boogaloo movement, so he was going to visit all the nearby hotels and motels in order to write down the license plates of all the out-of-state cars, then turn them over to the police.

When my friend pointed out that all the nearby hotels and motels are closed due to the coronavirus restrictions, that didn't even slow him down. He theorized that then these cunning invaders must be staying with local allies and sympathizers, so he was going to ride through the residential neighborhoods and find all the tell-tale license plates.

The inevitable end

Apparently 2VS has finally gotten around to turning on Comicsgate:
Vox Day opened up an imprint to allow small creators to use his printer discount on behalf of #ComicsGate, something that would have helped take the burden of production off of the smallest indie creators and help flourish a stronger and more united independent community. Knowing that Ethan Van Sciver had done everything he could to jump on the #ComicsGate brand, Vox ran the idea by Ethan in email to make sure Ethan was on board, and Ethan said yes.

It looked like a dawn of a new day for indie comics.

Until Ethan manipulated the situation into a power play to control the few fans under his umbrella.

In a move completely the opposite as he’d been telling Vox, Ethan took to his show and put Vox Day on blast, and his rabid, angry, outrage-prone fans went and brigaded Vox Day as a result.

Instead of getting great printer discounts, Vox was character assassinated. Anyone who called him friend got the same treatment. Ethan and his fans started becoming just like the SJWs they claimed to despise — screeching “alt right racist” at me and others in an attempt to character assassinate and destroy anyone who didn’t go along with their narrative.

All because Vox wanted to help out some small indie creators.
Just to be clear, I don't care in the slightest about 2VS or Comicsgate. I have very little against them and even less for them. Contra the narrative they both tried to push, I was never interested in owning, controlling, or even having anything whatsoever to do with Comicsgate. I only got involved, for about a week, as it happens, in support of an erstwhile Dark Legion creator, which turned out to be both a stupid mistake and a significant learning opportunity.

The moral of the story: stay away, stay very far away, from the drama that inevitably accompanies narcissistic attention-seekers. In fact, the reason I no longer speak in public to anyone except Castalia authors and UATV creators owes as much to the Comicsgate kerfuffle as it does to the Wired and NPR hit pieces and the Fuentes fiasco.

I neither need nor desire drama, and I'm simply not at all interested in creating it for those who do. I do, of course, find it mildly amusing to observe 2VS showing his second face to his erstwhile supporters.

You ain't a woman

Creepy Joe Biden doubles down:
In a recent interview with a female representative of the segment of the human species identifying as female, Biden made a strong case for why all women everywhere should vote for him without question, or at least let him sniff their hair.

"Look, the thing, you know what it is," Biden said. "The womenfolk know what's at stake in this election. It's hairy simple. Just let me vote on you, or you vote for me, the vote, b-b-b-blond applesauce baloney. Simple choice. If you don't let me smell your hair, you ain't a woman!" Biden then sat back in his chair with a smile, having "totally nailed" another interview....

Witnesses then walked in on Biden conversing with a Cabbage Patch doll who he mistook for a female interviewer. After hearing the news, feminists around the country responded by lining up outside Biden's house to get a complimentary hair sniff, thereby affirming their statuses as real women.
It's just getting harder and harder for satire to keep up with reality these days.

Tolstoy's Children's Tales

It appears there is a very good reason children's authors are seldom known for their literary greatness on the basis of this collection of Leo Tolstoy's children's tales.
“Daddy,” my stunned four-year-old son asked, “why did the lion die?” I took the book away and hid it from the children. Later I read it through. If you do this, be sure to read something lighter afterward, like perhaps Anna Karenina’s suicide scene, or a biography of Sylvia Plath. The rest of the stories are just as dark as the first one. So we have:

“Escape of a Dancing Bear.” The bear runs away after the master gets drunk. He’s too strong to capture directly, so they play his dancing music and he dances again. This allows the keepers to grab onto his chain. “The bear saw the ruse too late, roared helplessly, and tried to escape. But the master clung on tightly.” The end.

“Death of a Bird-Cherry Tree.” A property owner orders a tree cut down, then reconsiders. “It seemed a shame to kill such a beautiful thing.” But the woodcutter has already started, so he takes up an axe and lends a hand. “And then an unnerving sound came from inside the very soul of that tree. It was as if someone was screaming in unbearable pain, a tearing, wrenching, long, drawn-out scream.” The woodcutter says, “Whew, she don’t die easy, Sir!” Then the tree falls. The end.

“The King and the Shirt.” A king falls sick and is told that the only thing that can cure him is the shirt of a happy man. They can’t find anyone in the kingdom who is happy. Then by chance, the king’s counselor is passing through the woods and hears a man in a hut talking about how happy he is. The counselor steps into the hut and asks the man for his shirt, but the man is so poor he does not own a single shirt. The end. Presumably, the king dies.

“The Old Poplar.” Remember “Death of a Bird-Cherry Tree”? Well, this time it’s an old poplar. The owner wants to clear out the young poplar sprouts beneath a beautiful tree so that the old tree has less competition. The shoots had, in fact, been supporting the old tree; without them it withers and dies. “In wanting to make life easier for it I had killed all its children.” The end.

“The Little Bird.” A boy catches a bird in a cage. His mother says he shouldn’t do that. He leaves the door of the cage open. The bird flies out, straight into a glass window, knocking itself out. It suffers for a few days, then dies. The end.
I have to admit, I did laugh out loud reading this. It just sounds relentlessly horrible and almost flawlessly inappropriate. After giving the matter considerably more contemplation than I'd like to admit, I came up with a list of authors whose work should never, ever appear in the children's section. In reverse order:
  • Leo Tolstoy. A man whose literary greatness apparently knew no bounds, although it should have.
  • Guy de Maupassant. Forget all the drugs and ritual abuse, if MK Ultra wants to traumatize children, his story about the horse would suffice. It's the only story that has ever left me in a state of existential despair after reading it.
  • Jim Nelson. Wildly unpopular.
  • H.P. Lovecraft. Although the idea of combining Hogwarts and Lovecraft at Arkham Academy has occurred to me and other game designers over the years. The feeder school, presumably, for Miskatonic University.
  • Samuel R. Delaney. For obvious reasons.

Sic semper proditoris

Not all murders are tragic:
Jean Dussine, president of the association for the assistance of itinerant migrants, died on Tuesday, May 12 at his home in Bretteville-en-Saire. A young Afghan is in police custody. He allegedly hit Jean Dussine during his sleep with iron bars.
Migration is rape. Migration is murder. Migration is collective suicide.

And it's pretty obvious why Mr. Dussine was so enthusiastic about the mass importation of unemployed young foreign men.

That aged well

Just months after almost everyone on Wall Street worried that a recession was just around the corner, Goldman Sachs said a downturn is unlikely over the next several years. In fact, the firm’s economists stopped just short of saying that the U.S. economy is recession-proof.
- December 31, 2019

The hilarious thing is that the downturn had already begun. This sort of thing is why I meant it very literally when I wrote the chapter entitled "No one knows anything" in RGD.

It is also why destroying your nation simply because the economists tell you that doing so will make everyone rich is a horrifically bad, horrifically stupid idea.

Forget defunding them

The World Health Organization ought to be abolished. It's actively trying to subvert global health.

"WHO says no evidence of Covid-19 immunity from antibodies."

Also the WHO: "no evidence of Covid-19 human-to-human transmission".

Whatever happened to "America First"

Well, don't worry. I'm sure the IDF will defend America if the US military is too ravaged by Corona-chan to do so.
The US Department of Defense has reportedly supplied 1 million surgical masks to the Israeli regime in order to be distributed among soldiers, despite the fact that the Pentagon has lately introduced a measure requiring personnel to make their own masks to combat the spread of the new coronavirus.

The Israeli English-language Jerusalem Post reported that the masks were procured from China, and a plane carrying the medical stuff intended for Israeli soldiers landed in Ben Gurion Airport on Tuesday night.

“In the past two weeks, we have purchased and flown to Israel tens of thousands of swabs, masks, protective suits for medical staff and more,” Limor Kolishevsky, head of the New York Purchasing and Logistics Division, said. “A million masks, procured in China, were quickly flown to Israel with the intention that the Israeli military will be using them within the next few days,” he added.

The Jerusalem Post had initially published the article headlined “US Department of Defense give 1 million masks to IDF for coronavirus use,” and this is still visible in the article’s hyperlink on Twitter posts.

The newspaper, however, changed the headline shortly afterwards to read, “Israel brings 1 million masks from China for IDF soldiers,” in a possible attempt at downplaying the role of Washington in spite of shortages in protective equipment, including face masks, in the United States.
Perhaps if the Pentagon paid more attention to its soldiers than engaging in bitching about what Jenny said to Debby about Becky having a cold sore, the USA might stand a chance of surviving... no, it's too late anyhow. Pay attention, though. This is what a corrupted Empire looks like in its last decade.
An Israeli military reporter even published on his Twitter page images of the shipment of masks as they arrived in the occupied lands.

On April 5, American weekly news magazine Newsweek reported that the US military had told its personnel to make their own masks to fight coronavirus. The protocols, titled "Department of Defense Guidance on the Use of Cloth Face Coverings," were included in a document released Sunday by the Pentagon and then seen by the magazine.
Protocols? Can you believe that? I think the obvious takeaway from all of this is the reprehensible antisemitism of the Pentagon. The only meaningful atonement for its deplorable choice of words is for the Joint Chiefs of Staff to promptly apologize and promise to send more money to Israel.

Never trust the banks

As in 2008, the banks are taking the money the government has given them to help small businesses and are refusing to loan it out:
Nearly a fifth of small British businesses could be forced to close in the next four weeks after running out of cash amid complaints banks are refusing to give them government-backed coronavirus loans.

Many bosses said banks had declined them emergency payments over claims they had not met the required criteria while others could not get through on the phone or were told the money would take weeks to arrive.

Mark Fuller, who owns popular celebrity haunt Karma Sanctum in Soho, said he was unable to apply for funds because he could not guarantee his businesses would be able to start paying it back after six months in the event of a lengthy shutdown.

'The loan is under normal business conditions, which is fine but then don't suggest otherwise,' he told MailOnline. 'I have already been told by the government and Barclays that the only way to receive a loan is by cutting my staff.'

Other bosses were declined payments for having significant cash reserves, despite fears these would not be enough to last out a lengthy lockdown, or because they owned properties that could be used as collateral for a regular commercial loan.

Scott Littlefield, from SPL Management, a property company based in Poole, told MailOnline: "This scheme is not really fit for purpose. Our bank, Nat West, is virtually non-contactable at the best of times and the staff in branch can only deal with personal banking issues, not business. They always say to approach your relationship manager although all relationship managers were done away with in 2010."
If you think the US banks are bad, you should try dealing with a UK bank. They make it almost impossible for a UK-based company to even get a bank account. And, as in the US, they refuse to play what is supposed to be their part in crisis-amelioration efforts.

The governments need to stop looking to the banks to help solve the problem. They ARE the root of the problem, and therefore cannot be part of the solution.

Stilt-Man vs the SJWarriors

Science fiction grandmaster and classic comics aficionado John C. Wright contemplates the results of a minor Marvel villain, Stilt-Man, facing off against Marvel's new superhero team, the new New Warriors (2020 SJW edition). Read the whole thing there.

Let us say Stilt-Man has decided to rob a helicopter. Let us moreover say that Screentime uses his power of the netsurfing to come across a police bulletin, twitter post, or cellphone selfie showing the crime in progress.

Perhaps the crime takes place very nearby to the Old Folk’s Home where Fat Chance, the diversity hire orphan girl, is pulling cakes and pastries out of her god-given backpack (not the god you are thinking of, however) to share with the elderly and unloved senior citizens. They watch in awe as she consumes whole peach pies in one gulp.

Now, according to the official Marvel continuity, vigilante activity is illegal in the United States, and the government has passed ‘Kamala’s Law’ making teenagers doing vigilante activity even more illegal. So the teen heroes don their supersuits, and the bold yet chubby leader dons her double plus extra large sized supersuit. Not a single one of them wears masks or otherwise hides his identity. Except for Safespace, who does not wear a mask mask to hid ‘their’ identity.

So Fat Chance, the leader, waddles to the scene, puffing!

Meanwhile, Snowflake and Safespace are embracing each other with undue intimacy for a brother and sister (but it is perfectly fine, since the sister is neither male nor female, so technically she is his sibling, but not his sister). They see the Fat Signal, which Fat Chance pulls from her god-given backpack (not the god you are thinking of, however).

The amazing powers of Snowflake do not allow her to create a giant slide made of ice, like Iceman, nor to fly, like Snowbird, so she and her brother just run there. Fortunately, despite his girl hips and lack of muscle tone, he is a stereotypical jock, and get there while the crime is still in progress!

Screentime uses his power of internet connection to hire an Uber. In this case, the driver is Willy Lumpkin, the mailman for the Baxter Building, doing odd jobs to pick up some extra cash in his off hours

So the combat is joined!

Fat Chance rummages into her god-given backpack (but it is not the god you are thinking of) and pulls out a tuba, or perhaps a tortoise shell, or a taco, or a tape recorder, or a tea set, or a tricycle. But let us say, against all odds, she pulls out something useful, like a Tommy gun, and opens fire. Her flab wiggles and flaps in an alarming yet unsightly fashion from the jarring recoil of the hammering gunfire!

At the same time, Snowflake creates a dozen whirling, razor sharp crystal shuriken, and throws then with the full strength of her non-binary arm!

Screentime gets out of the Uber car and pays the driver, Willy Lumpkin, using Paypal, a convenient service that allows one to pay for goods and services over the internet! And, uh, he looks up information on Wikipedia about Stilt-Man or something, diagramming the battle suit.

Then B-Negative finds a convenient updraft, and launches himself skyward, closing with Stilt-Man, his bad attitude of which he has proud ownership displayed in his nonchalant yet abrasive teen demeanor!

Stilt-Man can detect the attack with his rear and downward view mirrors (not show in the diagram above) and can duck under the initial swoop by quickly retracting his legs!

The Stilt-Man armor was seen to be bulletproof in its first appearance back in Daredevil comics. The non-binary arm of the shuriken throwing sexual deviant cannot possibly top a thirty-story building, nor strike harder than a bullet. So both the snowflake-shaped crystal shuriken and the Tommy gun (or whatever) pulled out of the god-given backpack (not the god you are thinking of) simply bounce off.

And they do not bounce off Stilt-Man’s chest, by the way. A Tommy gun’s effective range is about 300 feet when fired level, less so when fired straight up, so the man himself is out of range. Shuriken and bullets alike are bouncing from the lower or upper segments of his stilts.

Then Stilt-Man steps on Fat Chance.

But let us say her life is saved by Safespace, who has enfolded her instinctively in a pink force field, which can protect others but not himself. So Stilt-Man steps on Safespace instead, with a hydraulic ram able to smash through a brick wall. Now, the information says Safespace can protect others, so if he casts his pink bubble of protection around the beached-whale bulk of the team leader, he can hide in her voluminous and extensive shadow, safe from attacks issue from that quarter to that half of the horizon. But, alas, Stilt-Man is the one villain able to step over the massive flesh blob of the leader, and approach the unprotected Safespace from above.

Our stereotypical jock with his girlish hips and Bambi eyelashes is not noted for having the super senses and reflexes of Daredevil, nor the spidersense of Spider-Man, and so he gets pounded into the pavement like a tentpeg and will spend the next fifteen issues in a full body cast, while every bone in his body except his left ulna are mending.

With Safespace out of the way, the force-field goes away, and Stilt-Man punts the fat girl and the non-binary ninja wannabe across Times Square with one sweep of his stilt-legs that can overturn a truck.

Ah, but the kid who is not Morbius joins the fray!

His superhuman strength is … wait for it … exactly the same as Stilt-Man’s in his armor. And his speed when he glides is … wait for it … exactly the same as Stilt-Man’s with his legs extended. But Stilt-Man is armored and B Negative is not. So Stilt-Man simply clocks him from fifty yards away with his telescoping fist which is strong enough to shatter brick walls.

If that does not work, Stilt-Man shoots him with knock out gas, and the teen bloodsucker with bad attitude plummets to the ground thirty stories, also crushed into jelly and with all his bones broken. But he can regenerate from wounds, so he will eventually get better.

He will rise again, and give chase. But, as was before said, since Stilt-Man travels at the same speed on his Stilts as the glider wings of Morbius (and presumably, Morbius lite here), Stilt-Man carrying the loot from the robbed helicopter stilts away on his long legs.

Meanwhile, Screentime is watching nonbinary incest porn on the internet. Stilt-Man does not bother to step on him, because how would he even know Screentime is on the superhero team?

These are NOT the end times

All End Times preaching is nothing more than narcisissm + false prophecy.  A reader writes:
A preacher that I know, who has preached the end of the world for 40 years, and has been wrong for 40 years, when asked about this current situation, said assuredly that this was not the end! He has always been wrong, so either it is the end, or, and this is my prediction, he will change his mind and start declaring it the end, or the beginning of the end. He, to a certain extent, and I dare say all end times preachers, are false prophets. That may be harsh, but if what they say does not come true are they not false? Would not my Dad, Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, and Cousins been better served by a different message before they died. Were they living in the end times?
Every single person who states a firm opinion about any time being the end times is a false prophet and a liar. Every single one. I've been hearing Boomers pontificate about this since the end of the 1970s. I still remember the idiotic pamphlet "88 Reasons for 1988". Even at the time, I knew it was complete idiocy, given specious illogic like "1988 is the 100th U.S. Congress. Water boils at 100 degrees. Therefore, the world will end in 1988!"

In fact, Boomer eschatologists who breathlessly followed Hal Lindsay were one reason I rejected Christianity as a teenager. It was patently obvious even at the time that there was absolutely no truth in them, as events have subsequently confirmed. That being said, the one thing I will say for Mr. Lindsay is that he correctly predicted the rise of global Islam at a time when absolutely no one else did, and he did so on the basis of logic derived from the Bible.

Jesus made it very clear that even he didn't know the hour. So you don't either, and don't start appealing to how you're certain that it is "the season" either. Evil men that people were identifying as potential Antichrist candidates in 999 AD have been completely forgotten by history, and there isn't even a moderately plausible candidate today. So get over yourselves, forget the idiotic and entirely non-Biblical rapture nonsense, and deal with the fact that you're almost certainly going to have to deal with the fallen world as it is for the rest of your life.

Live, love, and leave off waiting for a deus ex machina.

Panic is not the problem

Absolute idiocy is the real problem. And most people are idiots.
I just got off the phone with doctors in Bergen County, New Jersey who told me their hospitals are saying doctors & nurses will be *disciplined* for wearing protective gear, including masks. This is dangerous and may be illegal. And their stories are alarming...

Hospital physicians tell me this is happening across the state. Nurses worry they could be fired if they wear protective gear, but worry if they don’t they’re putting themselves & patients at risk. It comes as NJ has an explosion in COVID cases, particularly Bergen County. I've heard other hospitals nationwide are enforcing this policy, too. Who knows how rampant it is? Some internal documents we obtained suggest certain federal restrictions by the CDC may be guiding this decision.

If that's the case, @realdonaldtrump should immediately intervene & prohibit public hospitals from being able to threaten their staff for wearing protective equipment during this crisis, including gloves and masks. This is urgent and common sense. And it will save lives.

Folks have been asking for what the “explanation” is for this decision. We’ve been told the hospital administrators are concerned patients & visitors would be unduly alarmed & fearful if they saw health care workers wearing protective clothing & masks.
I am always very skeptical of decisions that are supposedly made on the basis of "preventing panic". In most cases, that translates as "the denial of information in order to prevent rational self-interested behavior on the part of the correctly informed".

And no, it's not just rumors out of New Jersey, as this case of an Oklahoma nurse fired for wearing a mask will demonstrate:
Kevin Readel worked at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital South for over five years. That was until Wednesday when he claims he was fired for wearing a droplet isolation mask.

"It was to protect myself, to protect the patient and to protect my family,” Readel said.

Readel worked in the Cardiac Care Unit, an ICU area for the heart hospital. Readel said he didn’t wear it all the time, but he was wearing it while putting an IV in a patient on Monday.

"I was trying to maintain some level of barrier,” he said when referencing himself and the patient.

According to Readel, his supervisor approached him and allegedly told him he needed to take it off, stating that it could cause fear and panic among the patients and staff.
Fear and panic are not the problems. Infectious disease and a failure to take basic precautions are. What are they going to do for an encore, ban surgeons from washing their hands prior to an operation for fear that impious ablutions could cause the surgery gods to frown upon the surgery?

We literally had an anesthesiologist WALK OUT because our Chief of nursing refused him having a mask.

He did the right thing. All medical workers should refuse to work under unnecessarily unsafe conditions. They are on the front lines and their health should be the absolute top priority of everyone involved.

UPDATE: It should not be surprising to learn that the CDC's policies are insanely counterproductive. It's being run by corrupt Deep State clowns:
As the coronavirus spread to all fifty states over the last two months, the Trump administration faced mounting criticism for the lack of reliable, widely accessible test kits. Now, a former senior federal health official nominated to his post by President Trump, alleges that the delays in testing occurred because leaders at the Centers for Disease Control “lied” to the president, and to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, about the center’s ability to produce the kits.

In making the allegation, Chris Meekins, a former assistant secretary of Health and Human Services for preparedness and response, cited private discussions he has held in recent weeks with top federal officials and physicians and scientists employed in private-sector industries that are active in the anti-coronavirus effort. Meekins described his contacts on the White House Coronavirus Task Force as “friends,” some of whom he has known for many years.

“From my conversations with members of the task force, both inside and outside the administration,” Meekins told Sinclair in an exclusive interview, “The U.S. government, from Secretary Azar to the president relied on the Centers for Disease Control to produce a test; they failed....CDC said they would handle it....What we have found out is that these leaders at the CDC lied to both the HHS secretary and, by extension, the president. And as a result the nation got weeks behind.”
This is yet another reason why the Swamp must be drained.

Creepy Joe rejects VP of color

Creepy Joe appears to have ruled out people of color as well as white men from his list of potential running mates:
Joe Biden picked what will probably be his last debate with Bernie Sanders to make a big announcement ... if he gets the nomination, he's picking a woman to run with him. Biden left no wiggle room. He said there are women in this country who, right now, are capable of being President of the United States, and he intends to pick one of them.

Biden also said the first chance he gets to nominate a U.S. Supreme Court Justice ... he'll pick a black woman, saying it's about time.
It's interesting to see how the ancient Democratic leadership doesn't understand the current mindset of their own party members. They are still living in the 80's and under the impression that picking a female vice-presidential candidate is bold, edgy, and progressive. They don't realize that anyone other than a black woman is racist and offensive, and preferably, said black woman would also be transgender, lesbian, and handicapped in some way.

Scientistry is fake science

Even without taking the reproducibility crisis into account, it is becoming readily apparent that "published, peer-reviewed science" is not the ultimate arbiter of the truth. Or even a moderately reliable proxy for it. From a 2019 paper published in Science and Engineering Ethics called "Assessing and Raising Concerns About Duplicate Publication, Authorship Transgressions and Data Errors in a Body of Preclinical Research":
Authorship transgressions, duplicate data reporting and reporting/data errors compromise the integrity of biomedical publications. Using a standardized template, we raised concerns with journals about each of these characteristics in 33 pairs of publications originating from 15 preclinical (animal) trials reported by a group of researchers. The outcomes of interest were journal responses, including time to acknowledgement of concerns, time to decision, content of decision letter, and disposition of publications at 1 year. Authorship transgressions afected 27/36 (75%) publications. The median proportion of duplicate data within pairs of publications was 45% (interquartile range 29–57). Data/reporting discrepancies [median 3 (1–5)] were present in 28/33 (85%) pairs. Journals acknowledged receipt of concerns for 53% and 94% of publications by 1 month and 9 months, respectively.

After 1 year, journals had communicated decisions for 16/36 (44%) publications. None of the decision letters specifically addressed each of the concerns raised. Decisions were no action, correction and retraction for 9, 3 and 4 publications, respectively: the amounts of duplicate data reporting and data/reporting discrepancies were similar irrespective of journal decision. Authorship transgressions affected 6/9 (67%) publications for which no action was decided. Journal responses to concerns about duplicate publication, authorship transgressions, and data/reporting discrepancies were slow, opaque and inconsistent.
Translation: you know that "science is self-correcting" idea? It's completely and utterly false. It's nothing more than propaganda for scientistry.
