Fat Bastard lied

In news that will surprise exactly no one, it appears that Fat Bastard knew about the politically motivated lane closures despite his previous claims of ignorance:
A lawyer for the former official, David Wildstein, wrote a letter describing the move to shut the lanes as “the Christie administration’s order” and said “evidence exists as well tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference” three weeks ago.

During his news conference, Mr. Christie specifically said he had no knowledge that traffic lanes leading to the bridge had been closed until after they were reopened. “I had no knowledge of this — of the planning, the execution or anything about it — and that I first found out about it after it was over,” he said. “And even then, what I was told was that it was a traffic study.”
Good riddance. The man was less electable than the corpse of George Wallace. And he probably would have made for an even more vindictive president than Barack Obama or Bill Clinton. Forget IRS audits, Fat Bastard is petty enough to send a team of Navy SEALs to neutralize a political enemy's pet hamster.

isn't this just shocking?

If what is suggested proves out, and it is what I have believed the whole time, I only hope it pushes frat-boy out of the line-up. With a philandering president, and one who doesn't obey any laws, eventually it will become a Republican thing too. Well, more publicly. Politicians simply aren't being held to any real standards, by seemingly anyone, personally, politically, professionally, legally.

They were just trying to clean this up before running him, one way or the other. And, perhaps for them, just having it be far enough in the rear-view mirror is enough. Honestly, I think a large chunk of the electorate will go with that. The real winners these days seem to be the real losers. The more they prove to be useless and boobish, the higher their chances at getting into office.

I used to like Christie when he busted onto the scene and went after the government unions (which I despise) and other fiscally prudent things. But then after looking into how he actually governed, I realized he was a kick the can moderate and as is often the case the screaming done by the left opposing him was mostly for show.

An old friend used to tell me you should never trust a man with two first names. I'll add that it is especially true if one of the names is a woman's.

Anonymous Catan February 01, 2014 11:31 AM

Not that I give a fig of a damn for Christie, but didn't the NYT stealth edit their article to remove the statement saying that the accuser had proof, without labeling the correction?

Blogger Nate February 01, 2014 11:34 AM

They're backing away from this at flank speed. If there's evidence he knew they don't have it.

I couldn't care less about this whole fiasco. I don't like Christie and never have, but on a careful reading, while passing time, I don't see a determinate lie even if it is conclusively proved that he knew about the lanes being closed during their closing.

c'mon, Nate. look at the surname of the accuser.

it's a JOOOOOOOOOOOOOS liberal conspiracy intended to gin up support for Christie amongst the Nazi sympathizing Tea Party voters by antagonizing their crypto-racist beliefs.

how else you gonna convince black, gun toting Arizonans to vote for Christie?

Blogger Doom February 01, 2014 12:21 PM

IM2L844,

Don't you remember third grade? It doesn't matter what is, or isn't, the truth. It only matters what people think from what they see and hear. If he got caught eating a baby, which... I won't grant one way or the other if I would suggest perhaps a whole ward of babies if so, and had the typical media there for the event, they would doctor the event to make it look like he was defending the child(ren), with the knife and fork, if otherwise caught by someone from a fly-over state. Right up until they didn't.

Oh, the media isn't any more on his side than it was on McCain's side. They'll spoon feed him right up until it's time to cull him for their politician. And, yeah, I think he knows he is a liberal spoiler and doesn't care. So long as his side wins, which... it would.

I seem to remember her very up on Christie at one time. Put not your faith in politicians, lawyers, most doctors, many police types, almost all building inspectors, and, you can add to the list. Put your trust in God and your faithful dog.

Yeah. With ice cream.

That's because we are in a decline phase right now. You nattering naboob of negativism.

Not that I give a fig of a damn for Christie

Of course not. He hates figs. Except of the newtonian variety.

Forget IRS audits, Fat Bastard is petty enough to send a team of Navy SEALs to neutralize a political enemy's pet hamster.

I'd actually like if that was on television. But it has to be the Navy SEALs using a flamethrower, so Christie could consume his portion of hatred on live TV. Brought to you by Jersey Cthulhu and Carl's Jr.

I think he and his wife's dodgy handling of donation funds after the big storm is going to cause him a great deal more grief than this bridgegate problem ever will.

I just want him to be booted off the national stage. Granted, it will probably take a couple of elephants or rhinos to do so.

What happens with Christie doesn't concern me, but Holy Lane Closures, Batman, couldn't the media take one reporter ... just one ... off the 24/7 Christie Watch and have them do some investigative reporting on the IRS abuse scandal , which continues to this day.

Gee. With all this hub-bub over lane restrictions on the GWB, you'd think Christie had ignored the repeated pleas for help of 4 murdered Americans by Jihadists and then blamed their grisly murders on a non-existent protest supposedly centered on a youtube video that nobody had previously heard of.

She repudiated him in a tweet in June 2013:

It was only a tweet, but she turned against him for a serious reason, and she hasn't changed her mind.

Because of the audio of Christie's early denials.

Christie punished "his own people" to discredit a political opponent.

Think ...Saddam Hussein.

Um, so? Christie could be telling the truth, and the lawyer lying.

Shutup before the libtards realize they did the Republican voters a huge favor.

Christie is 100% being taken down by the GOP. This is all part of the GOP civil war. The left, myself included, would like to see Christie win the nomination. It would further erode the GOP base, peel off conservative and libertarian voters who would be even more demoralized, and simply sop up the centrist vote, which isn't very big to begin with.

Plus, can anyone really see the guy wouldn't make it through a term in office. Say whatever you want about Obama, or Bush, but they both can obviously channel their stress and angst into activities that don't make you balloon from high-school athlete to fat bastard.

Fatso getting his ass served by the same media parasites he once cozied up to is funny. Funny cause he's fat..heehee.
Being an occasional commuter on the GV Bridge, I figured a bigger story would be when there was NOT a traffic jam on that diseased artery. But it's fun to watch the media vultures pick fat boy's carcass apart.
For the past three weeks, every local news broadcast is Christie, then, Christie, then Superbowl for a sec, then how the SB "casts a shadow" over Christie, then Weather, then traffic..and Christie, then sports, then back to Christie.
While the media bias re this story is not suprising, it's good to have the ankl;e nippers bearing their teeth for all to see. Hopefully some of the more diluted fools wil take note.

JOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSboy doesn't actually have 'proof'.

Christie actually did personally order the lane closures, but it was all verbal and unrecorded so unless everybody in the meeting turns on him he's got plausible deniability.

there, now both the politician AND the lawyer are lying.

wasn't so hard if you got two spare brain cells you can afford to devote to imagination.

Anonymous Stilicho February 02, 2014 4:17 AM

Christie is 100% being taken down by the GOP. This is all part of the GOP civil war.

Who knew that the GOP controlled all those liberal media outlets? But I digress. You give far too much credit to the Amnesty Party if you think they would take out their anointed candidate for the sake of conservatives.

Blogger Jamie-R February 02, 2014 6:59 AM

Christie had to pay for making Obama look Bipartisan right before the 2012 election. He's about as Bipartisan as Fidel Castro. I'm very happy to see this prick go down, Republicans don't need a dude who has belt tracks indented into his gut permanently anyhow.

Blogger Unknown February 02, 2014 7:32 AM

I can't for the life of me understand why people still believe anything a politician says. Of course he's lying; he's a politician. "I didn't know anything about the lane closures." "If you like your doctor, you can keep him." "I did not have sex with that woman..." "Read my lips, no new taxes."

All lies. Why do they still have credibility? Why are people still stupid or delusional enough to believe anything they say?

Anonymous Idle Spectator February 02, 2014 8:40 AM

no relativistic or quantum figs for Christie.

Of course there is. Christie is like "I'm not really fat you know, relative to everyone else these days." Using Vox's 200-pound rule by Ebonic Sports Vassal, even the women are over 200 pounds now.

And quantumly you can't prove Christie ate that, unless you measured it. But really when you measure it, he didn't really eat all that cake, since some of it burned off.

Idle Spectator February 02, 2014 8:40 AM
And quantumly you can't prove Christie ate that

the Schroedinger fig: Christie is large enough to encompass all probability superpositions of whether the fig has been eaten or not.

do you want to know if the fig has been eaten? open the box and see if Christie is dead.

the relativistic fig: it's like an e=mc^2 explosion of taste in Christie's mouth.

the non-Newtonian fig: a taste reaction twice as powerful as Christie's eating action. which explains why he can't stop ... gentlemen, we have discovered perpetual motion.

Anonymous Anonymous February 02, 2014 1:47 PM

I would like a vindictive conservative President. One who would use the same weapons of the executive that Obama uses, but directed against the liberals/socialists. Don't like an Inspector General? Fire him even though you don't have the power to fire him. Relentlessly investigate your enemies, hire your trusted compadres, fire everyone who disagrees even though they can't be fired. Suspend payments to unions/ACORN-affiliates/etc based on the national debt. And so on.

The problem is that while we know Christie is vindictive, we can't trust him to attack our enemies. Because we saw him attack us.

He's dead to us.
