Cuckservative Churchianity

As Red Eagle and I mentioned in Cuckservative, there is nothing that drives the modern Churchian evangelical like the desire to demonstrate that he is not racist:
When Michelle Higgins addressed a gathering of 16,000 evangelical students meeting in St. Louis this week for a missions conference, she brought the same intensity and fervor she’s often displayed as a leader of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Ms. Higgins, a St. Louis native and director of Faith for Justice, a protest group devoted to “Biblical activism,” minced no words when she told the crowd what happened after Michael Brown was killed last year in Ferguson, Mo.

“When I first heard that our brother had been killed, we began looking for churches to host discussion groups,” said Higgins, also the director of worship and outreach at a local congregation. “All of our evangelical partners said, 'We’re not ready to talk about race and justice; we’re not ready to talk about police brutality and mass incarceration; we’re not ready to talk about the fact that black bodies are grotesque to us – we don’t want to admit that.' ”

Her provocative words at the 2015 Urbana conference, a student gathering co-hosted by the conservative campus ministry InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, not only laid bare some of the deep racial divisions in the United States after the killings of Mr. Brown and other black men over the past year and half, but they also went directly to the fact that, as a whole, evangelical Christians remain among the least likely to have sympathy for the Black Lives Matter movement.

But at the Urbana conference this week, many evangelical student leaders and others have expressed full solidarity with the emergence of the protest movement. Worship leaders onstage, a diverse group leading worship with the kind of praise music that many evangelical churches are known for, wore Black Lives Matter T-shirts and sang songs in Spanish, French, Korean, and Swahili, as well as English.
Those "evangelical student leaders" are pure SJW entryists. Any church that accepts them into leadership will be led astray. Whatever it is they worship, it isn't the God of the Holy Bible. And whomever it is they follow, it assuredly isn't Jesus Christ.

Here is a reliable heuristic for the Christian: if a fallen world lauds you for what you are doing, the chances are very good that what you are doing isn't in line with the Will of God as expressed in the Scriptures.

If you haven't lost any friends, been called "hateful", lost your job, lost familial relationships, or been overtly persecuted or verbally berated for the sake of Christ and His Law-Word... then you ain't doin' it. Literally, you're NOT walking The Walk. You're lukewarm. And Jesus said something about how He feels about the lukewarm and cowardly.

Micheal Brown was shot and killed after robbing a store and assaulting a police officer (fracturing bones in the officer's face), so it had nothing to do with being black and everything to do with being a dangerous man committing a violent crime.

The "narrative" needs to be thrown back at them, and they should be asked "Why do criminal lives matter?"

Push back against their narratives at every turn, since they are based on lies.

Black Lives Matter is a movement desperately fighting, more than anything, their utter irrelevance. Over 50 years have passed since Brown vs. Board of Education, 40 years since the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and we've have a black president approaching the end of his 2nd term in office. Plenty of time to get their shit straightened out, but they're still playing the victim card despite their own inherent racism. Hell, even gay rights is becoming passé now, despite the ink on that SCOTUS ruling isn't even a year-old yet. The future victim status belongs to Hispanics, Muslims, and transgenders, and the envy is killing the BLM folks, though maybe not as much as some Hispanics and Muslims would like to kill them...

Let the SJWs have the conservative evangelicals, they've been cultural kryptonite for at least a century.

"At a dinner with Churchill, Ribbentrop had said that, in a future war with Britain, Germany would have the Italians on its side. Churchill, referring to Italy’s poor record in the First World War, responded with one of his devastating verbal flashes: 'That’s only fair – we had them last time.'"

"we’re not ready to talk about the fact that black bodies are grotesque to us"

That was a wierd, off-script thing to say. The word choice "grotesque" was eapecially strange in its lurid connotations. She could have said "unpleasant" or "ugly," which mildly but accurately describe the normal and healthy mutual aversion across races.

But the fact that she even broached the idea itself -- a departure from the litany of racist "sins" that are putatively correctable such as discrimination, in favor of upstream visceral and immutable feelings of disgust -- was an unintended slip of the mask. She revealed that anti-racism is unnatural.

I have no aversion to letting BLM show up at my church. We would happily preach the actual word of God to them and point out the errors of their ways. We would encourage them to go back to their communities and work on fixing the people there. If they decided to get disruptive then we would happily show them the door.

Blogger Doseux January 02, 2016 10:48 AM

Do none of the Black Americans realize that bringing attention to racial tensions and polarizing them will only work against their cause? From everything I've seen, Whites in America will do nearly anything to accommodate them so that they won't be called "racist". But the more protests that you rally, the more trouble you cause, the more we will wonder whether it is worth putting up with it all just to avoid a word.

When you make a narrative of "White" against "Black" and other minorities, and declare a war against the evil "White" side, what can I do? I am White, so that makes me your enemy too. If you keep pushing, I will push back, harder. And I won't stop when we reach last year's line in the sand.

I would readily have been an ally of BLM if they had focused on police brutality, militarization, and misconduct instead of trying to start a race war. But it is nothing more than another group of race panderers, using the tragedy of others to give themselves a soapbox. Some people just love to hear themselves shout.

And I don't give a damn about the facts of the Michael Brown case. The number of instances of serious police misconduct in this country are legion. BLM could have been a unifying agent for positive changes, but instead almost immediately descended into yet another left wing hate group.

Still, seeing Sanders get shouted off his own stage was pretty funny...

Shiela4g, does your lack of reading comprehension ability grant you supernatural psycho-analytical powers? such that you are comfortable to label me by association "an overgrown, whiny, emotional child who views reality through a veil of his own emotions"? Or should I follow your example of maturity and hurl insults at you after extrapolating a proposition from your writing that you never espoused?

Since reading in context is hard, I will spell it out. I previously wrote "I don't give a damn about the facts of the Micahel Brown case." From that you infer that "FACTS are irrelevant" to me; a rather presumptuous statement. Clearly in the context of my post my statement meant that I didn't care about the Michael Brown case and had no desire to debate what did or did not actually happen there. In fact I did not follow the case well enough to make an opinion as to what did or did not happen. But my next sentence made it clear that my position regarding police militarization and misconduct is based on the myriad other cases that exist, and that whatever happened re Michael Brown would not affect that position.

Is that clearer for you? If not, please tell me what I must do to atone for my transgression against you so that you will stop bullying me. I have very sensitive feelings.

@18 Rantor,

Only reason Holder didn't prosecute was because that cagey and sly fox of a police chief knew exactly where Holder was heading when he ordered the suppression of the video showing what an animal that Brown truly was.

Once that came out, the whole manipulation fell apart, and the thug's parents saw their multimillion dollar brass ring fly out the window. The Chief did his job, protecting his guys, and protecting the wallets of the taxpayers of Ferguson.

He insured that the only playbook they could use was the truth. That did the other false story in.

I think I know what you're getting at, but I think the emphasis is a little misplaced.

The Bible says that Christians are known by their fruit, and as far as I can tell, persecution is never listed as one of those fruits. Absolutely, Jesus said that persecution will come to those who follow him, but is that an indication of our success? If I am never persecuted, does that mean I am not saved?

I believe that there are seasons of persecution but there are also seasons of blessing and favor that we can experience even within our fallen society. It is the opposite end of the spectrum of "salt" and "light" in which the community embraces a church that adopts all of its orphans, feeds its poor and cares for its sick. Over Christmas, my church reached out in compassion to the poor and fed hundreds of people. Everyone who received was thankful and local news stories positively retold what our church did. No one came out with pitchforks to hang us for sharing the Gospel with strangers.

Remember it was the religious people who turned Jesus over to be crucified. The irreligious who know nothing about God are more likely to react favorably toward the church truly loving them because so many of them have never experienced love. I would argue, however, that atheists are the "religious" of our time, including Muslims and other Pharisee types. I would expect persecution from them, but testimonies abound where heaping coals of kindness on their heads yields unexpected results.

Unless your testimony is like Paul's, you probably weren't persecuting Christians when you were saved but it was probably something refreshing and redeeming about the Truth and its followers that invited you in. I'm not going to go look for persecution, but if it comes, I will know that it is consistent with what Jesus said and I will be challenged to have compassion on my enemies even as they hold stones in their hands.

What it comes down to with all these so-called minorities with chips on the shoulders is two things: jealously and humiliation. They are jealous of our looks, of our smarts, and our accomplishments. Our mere existence and the existence of Western, i.e. White, Civilization totally humiliates them. Its that simple.

Its interesting that the BLM/SJW crowd are now trying to make our natural aversion to grotesque minority bodies a political issue. They are probably going to try to force ugly minorities into TV shows and commercials and charge Whites that refuse to date ugly minorities with hate crimes. Don't laugh. They just made Gay Marriage "legal" and forced pervert transvestite men into girl's bathrooms and locker rooms. People would have laughed at that twenty years ago as impossible.

By the way, if black lives matter so much, why do blacks kill one another in such great numbers? Where was the black community when Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin were getting into trouble, and where are they now when countless of other young Negroes are getting into trouble?

We have a JW on staff here, and if anything, he's militant about it. Despite the obvious social difficulties he must deal with, he's always ready to drive his point home. When we announced our Christmas party, he stood right up and told everyone he wouldn’t be attending because he didn’t believe in Christmas. Whatever you may think of his position, how many evangelicals can you imagine doing something like that?

Cuckservative logic:

1 Apposing immigration from the Middle East is racist.

2 Bombing the snot of Middle Easterners for twenty-five plus years resulting in the killing and maiming of MILLIONS OF THEM is necessary collateral damage.

%$#@ this hypocrites. When did they EVER oppose the never-ending wars?

She's not grotesque. She's luxuriantly gorilloid.

The simple meme is BLM == KKK.

Same logic. Same violent rhetoric. Different level of melanin.

All of our evangelical partners said...we’re not ready to talk about the fact that black bodies are grotesque to us – we don’t want to admit that.' ”

What? We talk about that all the time whenever black people aren't around. We also have disco balls that automatically drop from the ceiling and waitresses on skates serving cocktails as soon as the black man leaves. I thought everyone knew about white privilege?

Seriously, that woman is loony. No evangelical or churchian leader is going to say something like that unless they are already full-on snorting the prog kool aid powder.

...which means just the opposite... they will talk about it. This woman got a conservative evangelical sock puppet that tells her what she thinks conservative evangelicals should be saying.

Doseux @13:
When you make a narrative of "White" against "Black" and other minorities, and declare a war against the evil "White" side, what can I do? I am White, so that makes me your enemy too.

I didn't have a white identity until I saw how many people were so anti-white. I was German, Finnish, Cherokee, English and Irish. My ancestors lived on the Russian steppes and fought packs of wolves and pits of snakes to eke out a living as farmers until the three freedoms were revoked, and then left, so they survived where their neighbors ended up in gulags. And I have stories about most of the rest, except that my Cherokee ancestor was left as an infant on the doorstep of some German farmers in the midwest, so that history is lost to me.

Anyway. They call us all anglos so fine, I'm an Anglo-American. Thanks for assigning me that identity. I like it.

I was involved in my University's Intervarsity chapter through most of college. It was lead by two women, and they so forcefully pushed the idea of "social justice" that it started driving students away. They would have lectures on how our fellowship wasn't diverse enough, then when black students did show up, they would complain about how the blacks would sit with their black friends, whites with their white friends, etc. Several of my friends went to Urbana this year. Many of them espouse a passion for "social justice" and "racial reconciliation" and act as if God has made it their calling. I also know for a fact many members of IV here are actively and materially involved in resettling Syrian refugees to our area. They even have group events to welcome refugees. The attitude is that rather than going forth into all nations and preaching the gospel, they want to bring people of all nations HERE and then hope that if they are nice enough to them that they will decide to attend their Church with them. I hear there is even an LGBT Bible study now... And that's only the tip of the iceberg. Christian Cuckservatism is bigger than we think, particularly among the millennial generation. Vox should write an entire book about it.

"racial reconciliation" and act as if God has made it their calling.

Far be it from me to say what the Almighty can do, but, well...it's just danged curious how what the Holy Spirit is doing is so in synch with the spirit of the age.

What is racial reconciliation in a Christian context? To me, it means that race is irrelevant to receiving God's grace. It means that a Christian of any race may be greater in God's kingdom than I am. It means that Christians of all races are in the "family of faith". We are all brothers and sisters. We can have no hate in our hearts for family.

That's all it means. Anything else that "must" be done for "reconciliation" is politics and agenda mongering.

Well, I can't tell him what to do, but if he (or better yet Dalrock) wrote Churchianity: The Heresy That Is Destroying Christianity From Within, I would buy and read it.

GOD created the languages and races after Nimrods Tower of Babel because he didn't like just this sort of thing. I would suggest you respect HIS will and not be a globalist and be cool with your disgust for others. Although the Supreme Court guy Thomas may be an exception to the rule. A good Samaritan helps where he can and crosses the street when he cant.

"When will "Back lives Matter" protest against Planned Parenthood for all of the black babies that are routinely butchered?"

So more black babies are the answer? I never quite followed this line of thinking. How about get your $hit together so as not to bring more thuglets into this world?
