The new sheriff

In order to better focus my activities in the coming year, I have relinquished my responsibilities as the manager of the Castalia House blog. If you'd like to see who is going to do a much better job of running it than I did, visit the CH blog to see who has been named the new Blog Editor at Castalia House.

Mark my words. In two years, the Castalia House blog is going to be the best and most popular SF/F and gaming blog. There are few pleasures as satisfying as handing off responsibility to someone who is more capable than you are.

"author of the epic Chapter N series"

Very well done. You've gained a reader.

Wow... hitting home runs already. It's going to be a good year!

Vox, a word of advice from someone who did something similar six months ago. Walk well clear, don't joggle the new guy's elbow. Even if you don't agree with him. Sack him if you must, but trust him otherwise.

Walk well clear, don't joggle the new guy's elbow.

You clearly don't know me at all.

"Mark my words. In two years, the Castalia House blog is going to be the best and most popular SF/F and gaming blog" Donald Trump rubbing off on you? This sounds awesome.

>and gaming blog

Huh, I guess I must pay more attention, going to add that blog to my daily rounds, I'm sort of good sources of gaming stuff.

It was interesting reading that Chapter N stuff, if only for the reaction to the kind of fantasy and the vindication of my belief that tolkienesque is one of the most absurdly misapplied terms.

I really need to catch up my amount of read old fantasy with the amount of myth and folklore I've read.

Anyway, you can consider your actions a success with one person at least Vox. I'm progressively jumping on board with more and more of this aggressively growing little empire.

Well, maybe empire is the wrong term, dark domain of good content?

Donald Trump rubbing off on you? This sounds awesome.

Oddly I came across this echo chamber software today.
https://www.rt.com/usa/327436-google-trump-internet-filter/

"The Trump Filter was designed by Rob Spectre who lives and works in Brooklyn. He believes that the only way Trump’s political campaign can be deflated is through suffocation. Therefore he wants to deprive the billionaire of as much internet coverage as possible.

“In a political atmosphere where ascendance can be manufactured through attention, the only way to deflate Trump's political star is through suffocation. Trump can only lose if we turn off the TV,” he stated on his website."

Koranburningfaggot? Ha-ha! Shit's funny!

Excellent choice.

I've found young Jeffro's work both engaging and intriguing.

He's turning out to be quite the find.

Obvious, you are banned. Please to be doing the needful.

Blogger automatthew January 01, 2016 5:51 PM

I forgot to specify the exact nature of the needful. It's okay, though. Strike teams are closing in.

@7

That's crazy shit. As if anyone who would use it was going to vote Trump.

Hugo depends eat.

Excellent news, I've been reading Jeffro's Appendix N series with interest, and look forward to seeing what he does with the year.

Blogger Jon M January 01, 2016 7:23 PM

Wow. That is great news. Jeffro is one of those rare men who combines a penetrating intellect with a sharp wit and gift for the written word. Your prediction about 'best and most popular' sounded like typical salesman hyperbole, but with him involved your two year prediction sounds overly conservative. I give it 18 months, tops.

"Hugo depends eat"

Vox, you should have Marrku work on his sockpuppet algorithm.

Blogger Alfred Genesson January 01, 2016 9:17 PM

Congrats to Jeffro. The Appendix N series was great, and I enjoy his gaming articles, though I'm more of a boardgamer. Maybe I need to write some articles up for his perusal. There's plenty of good stuff, and it's definitely become a culture war front.

@15 Not a sock, just not smart enough to keep the autocorrect from mangling "hugo delenda est". :(

Blogger automatthew January 01, 2016 10:39 PM

"Hugo Depends eat" is awesome. I may make it my new username.

I heard that the guy who invented predictive text has died.  His funfair is next sundial.
