Why Trump will win

It's really quite simple, as this commenter at Althouse explained it:
Hillary says "Vote for me because I'm a woman."
Bernie says "Vote for me and I'll give you some of his."
Ted Cruz says "Vote for me and I'll kick over all those rice bowls in Washington".
Donald Trump says "Vote for me and the emergency room at your local hospital won't look like a bus station in rural Mexico"

Might not be fair but I think I know who is going to win that argument.
To this we can add: Marco Rubio says "Vote for me because I am electable as determined by the Republican establishment."

People want relief from pain. And the pain from losing their country to 60 million invaders is much greater than the constant Washington shenanigans that few understand anyhow.

I am kind of tired of calling out a white person and then having a bunch of Mexicans show up to do the work. I have actually taken to just hiring the Mexican boss that speaks English since I figure he has a better lead on the more competent Mexicans.

I found it rather amusing that FB added 5 new flags today (love, haha, wow, sad, angry) and none of them adequately convey disagreement (dislike) for the posted comment which is what I really want whenever somebody posts anti-American claptrap.

They are looking at job security...all these nay-sayers realize if Trump wins and/or becomes a prominent figure, they have to get a new job.

Perhaps a more accurate portrayal of Mr Rubio would be....”"Vote for me because I am electable as determined by the Republican establishment." ….."I am electable because I am a Republican."...”Because I am a Republican I am electable”.....”Trust me I am not part of the establishment therefore I am electable”....”I am electable because I am a robot”

I don't know what can be done to fix the affirmative action doctor problem. Nurses fought to end new resident doctors having crazy hours which was the last merit based test to see how people would do without handholding & rope lifting , because all the nurses with seniority would take off and new nurses wouldn't catch their mistakes. Of course die verse city suffered under that system.

The "OMG *everyone* is going to vote for Hillary if Trump wins" story is starting to spin up. Good grief. We've been told by the GOPe *repeatedly* that the candidate who wins in the primaries is the one who *must* be backed in the general election. Do you mean they lied about that, too?

Blogger Sentient Spud February 24, 2016 11:00 PM

If you have an election with one guy explaining to voters why they should care about the stuff he promises to do, and the other guy explains to voters that he promises to do the stuff they already care about...

...the first guy needs an awful lot of vote fraud to pull out a win.

Anonymous Fred February 24, 2016 11:38 PM

I talked to my mother this weekend over lunch - she's a dyed in the wool left winger and I wanted to see if she was going Bernie or Hillary. She said Bernie for sure and that if he didn't make that she would probably be voting for one of the third party candidates - I think she was thinking of the Green Party candidate Jill Stein.

The interesting thing was she said most of her friends were planning on following the exact same course - but some of them were a bit conflicted because they really didn't want Trump so ...

So I don't think old Hill is getting Mom's vote no matter what.

Just another reason why Trump is most likely going to win.

You could also factor in the probability of Hill dropping dead from her traumatic brain injury on top of the pending indictments.

For the cherry on top - Trump and Hill go toe to toe - how does each come off ?

All Hill does is triple reinforce her already bad rep as a harridan shrew.

Trump, bonus points for standing up to said shrew.

Popcorn all around.

Putin would most likely prefer Trump because Trump is far less likely to start World War 3 against Russia.

Xi Jinping most likely won't because America first policies are not in China's best interests economically.

Remember the very first question at the very first Republican debate last August? Something to the effect of, "Let's see a show of hands. Are there any of you who will not pledge to support the Republican nominee, whoever he may be, and pledge not to run an independent campaign against that person?" Only Trump had the honesty to raise his hand and say he couldn't make that pledge. The others, through their silence, pledged to support the eventual nominee no matter what. I suspect they now regret that, and we may soon see how solid their pledges really were.

This simple display of courage and honesty, along with his unilateral decision to skip a debate and his open willingness to acknowledge prior, supposedly embarrassing statements without apology, are indicative of why Trump is the only true leader among the sad bunch running in either party.

"... the emergency room at your local hospital won't look like a bus station in rural Mexico"

This is not hyperbole. I've been to the emergency room in my city three times during the last several years for family and this is EXACTLY what it looks like, and that is with the county government subsidizing primary care for Mexicans so they use the hospital less for non-emergency care.

My nephew started school this year. According to one teacher, 50% of the intake cohort did not speak English. My nephew's class had one other American. The rest were not. If my family had not gotten him moved, he would have been assimilating into their culture, not the other way around (not the reason they had him moved, but I approve of the outcome for that reason). Immigration without assimilation is invasion, and there can be no assimilation except when immigrants are far outnumbered by natives.

It's the usual story. Local industry hires them for a pittance, replacing American workers, and the welfare they consume dwarfs the taxes they pay. They win, their employers' stockholders win, and everyone else loses.

the alterna-cuck candidates dropping out of the race are the reason for the Rubio / Kasich surges. so they are near their new ceiling until Kasich drops after he loses Ohio, then Rubio will rise to his final ceiling around 20-25%. which happens to be more than Cruz is getting ...

the rebel candidates are splitting their vote three ways. will be interesting to see which way Carson's support goes when he finally wakes up to reality ( that the pyramids were never used as granaries ) and drops out. that will almost certainly push Trump over 40% in a three way race with Rubot and Cruz. shortly after which, Cruz will drop because 3rd place and most of his support will go to Trump, pushing Donald well into in overt majority.

i don't think Donald needs my help or my vote.

Those of us who's memory of the '70s is seared, seared in us, know that specific "Washington shenanigans" can result in great pain in Main Street. "Trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see" and the Fed's printing press can last only so long, I'm under the impression this party has gone on so long in this century because we're still the "least worst" place to put your money. According to the US' Domestic Homeland Security estimates the number of unauthorized immigrants in the United States at 11.5 million, while the Pew Research Center puts the number of illegal immigrants at 11.3 million (5.6 million being from Mexico). But the Clinton Trump debates will get huge ratings and if someone drops the ball badly, that could have a major impact. @73 You need to spend more time looking at the shape of the Democratic party. You think the fighting is bad amongst Republicans? Wait until the militant Bernie wing realizes how utterly shafted they are because of the voting procedures put in place by their party leaders.

Good chance for fisticuffs at their convention this summer. Finally, a political convention worth watching!

"Did Rience Priebus's parents do some kind of genetic test so they knew he was gay before they gave him that name, or did giving him that name make him gay?"

Because Rinsed Penis was just too gay.

At least ShadowWhoWalks is a WAY better troll than Jumpmen. He might even be sincere, albeit way behind the curve by asking these fairly tired old questions. But the red pill is a process, not an instantaneous revelation, so I'd be willing to cut him some slack.

Probably not enough slack to patiently answer those questions, but y'know.

@43 - "Never underestimate the power of gibsmedat."

True, but...

Mexican-Americans are being displaced by illegals, and want the wall; therefore, Trump.

Blacks are being displaced by illegals, and see the end of their political clout; therefore, Trump.

White working class see the continuing outflow of jobs to 3rd world; therefore Trump.

White professional class see themselves losing their jobs to H1B imports; therefore Trump.

Trump is the only answer to most of these groups, and even if they can't articulate why, they sense it.

Rinse is not his birth name. it's not even his legal name.

it's his adopted nickname.

he puts on this nickname like he puts on his gay face.

If you support Trump you support racism and hatred and are a pathetic coward.

what is this bullshit? you didn't even call me a full Nazi! heck, i'd settle for a lower case fascist once in a while.

what does a guy have to do around here, put on Hugo Boss and go to a leather bar?

That's actually the most compelling case for Ted Cruz I've seen.

Its not the best case on the list... but it is a very good case in these times.

Anonymous GraceL February 25, 2016 10:37 AM

Today I saw the creator of “Idiocracy” saying his movie has come true--because Trump. There was much harrumph-sniffing over Trump’s “I love the uneducated!” comment. Of course this from yesterday came to mind:
Vox: Even as the political elite sneer at them, Trump tells the poorly-educated that he loves them. And they will love him back.
Matt: So you need politicians to tell you they love you?

Vox: No, Matt, the difference is that they know you hate them and think you are better than them. That's why you're irrelevant.
But. Don’t we always hear that an education is a privilege? A person needs a certain amount of time and money and at least some ability (or lack of disability) to get one right? And you have to live someplace where it’s available right? Wouldn’t it then follow that an uneducated person is underprivileged? (cue drama music)
Wellll…I guess the “underprivileged” served their purpose, as do all useful idiots for a time, but when you’ve got koranimals and assorted 3rd world savages to wipe the smirks from the faces of happy, normal, productive civilized, Jesus-freakin’ people and to destroy all that is decent and good who the hell needs cripples, working folk, fags, former slaves and sluts? And if the knuckle-draggers don’t like it well…harrumph-sniff!

Blogger Nate February 25, 2016 11:02 AM

Nope.

Vox once said that if Trump were to claim he would nuke NYC and DC he would go up in the polls.

Upon this Vox and I agree. That's what it would take to get me to support Trump.

its also what it would take to get me to support Cruz.

Rience Priebus is a name straight out of the Star Wars universe. And yes that character would be just as much of a prancing nancy as the name sounds.

It appears there are an awful lot of racist haters out there. It's a good thing they're so cowardly, otherwise they might band together and wipe you out.

@GraceL

Great way to put it.

Off topic trump racist robocalls

Basically a white supremicist group robocalling for Trump. I read the comments, it turned me into a white supremicist who wanted to fire up the ovens, get the lynch rope and a sacrificial altar.

Jesus Christ already, every single one of these niggers, spics, kikes, etc. Need to GTFO. Absolutely NO concept of empathy, humility, outreach on THEIR parts. You know, hajnal-line characteristics. No attempt to understand the fears of these people. Nope, it's "STFU and die already cracka!"

Trump's never going to claim he's going to nuke NYC. he knows people in NYC, they are great people in NYC, wonderful, simply fantastic people.

you're really not very nice for saying the hurtful things you say.

now, DC? he might agree to nuke DC ... if Ted Cruz is there.

They'll dig something up on Trump. The establishment won't go down that easy.

Best we can hope for is that it will show their true face - very clearly for everyone.

They've been doing it for months now, and that's why Trumps numbers keep rising. People see the fix is in, and Trump is a way to break that fix.

@68 That Would Be Telling

Or Trump orders the boarder guards to be particularly thorough in inspecting incoming goods, like hand inspecting each tomato.

More realistically, seeing as how this is done to us all the time, wave the E. coli flag and so on.

There are a zillion things one can do short of imposing tariffs to make the other side rethink their position.
---

First thing to do is make sure they get nothing from any benefits.

Second is to put cops or whoever in every border hospital and send them back to Nogales, Tijuana or Juarez the instant they show up, including their anchor baby.

Third, put a military build up on the border, as a threat that Mexico better get it's act together or they might be annexed. Ok, I put this one in here for fun but it should be made very clear and serious to Mexico we aren't putting up with it ever again.
