They made him inevitable
Finally, a conservative who gets it. Does Donald Trump scare you? Good, he should. And if the GOPe manages to stop him, you're going to like who comes next even less.
This election is the Republican Altamont, where conservatives got knifed by the Hell’s Angels. It’s our own fault too – the GOP teased its base, looked down upon it, lied to it, and when it turned out it wasn’t playing games and pulled a blade the establishment wasn’t ready.Admitting the problem is the first step towards solving it. Of course, cuckservatives and neocons and conservatives being what they are, they'll probably just call him a racist Nazi Trumpkin and refuse to listen to anything he has to say.
I spent the last few days at CPAC, surrounded by conservatives, and there was a clear preference for focusing on the symptom – Donald Trump and his myriad failings – rather than the disease. Our problem is not this digitally-challenged, bizarrely phallocentric clown; it’s our failure to represent the people left behind as we got ahead.
Donald Trump is the fault of the GOP elite, including movement conservatives, who failed to listen, who failed to follow through, who thought we were meant to lead the benighted past their narrow self-interests and unseemly prejudices to a wonderful new world reflecting our benevolent self-interests and elite prejudices. Funny how the conservative, globalized utopia we sought to impose always worked out really well for us. Except those left behind aren’t laughing.
Trumpism isn’t merely about unfocused anger – it would be super-convenient to write this off as a temper tantrum that will soon blow over and allow us to get back to the business as usual of ignoring the pleas (which are now demands) to stop the immigration disaster, to address the fallout of free trade, and to stop the useless sacrifice of our sons and daughters in wars we’re too damn gutless to win. But it isn’t. Again and again Republicans promised to solve these problems and yet every single time they’ve lied. Rubio got elected in Florida promising to oppose amnesty then not only fails to do so but stands up with the Democrats and did the exact opposite. And we’re surprised a candidate comes along and points that out?
These folks have been asking us for help, and what was our response? Shut up, stupid racists. Well, they finally found someone who is taking their side. His name is Donald Trump, and we made him possible. Hell, we made him inevitable.

These tears are so delicious. Nectar of the Gods.
Wow. Kurt wrote that? Good for him.
A very honest and well written article....
If the Texas establishment got around to arresting illegals and throwing them back into Mexico, Cruz could probably stop Trump in his tracks. But the more Cruz insists on taking Bush money, the more he's going to be revealed as just another pawn.
https://www.tedcruz.org/news/ted-cruz-announces-addition-of-former-jeb-bush-finance-team-members/
Tick tock!
I'm shocked Kurt wrote that.
They aren’t going away; we need to reintegrate them.
I wonder if he really "got it."
For the fissure to close, the GOP needs to move to the Trump voter. The idea of "re-integrating" the voter seems suspiciously like, "We just need to convince them" rather than, "We need to actually adopt their ideas."
It is heartening to see this and the (re-print) NY Post article from the former conservative.
I think the message is getting through. It's whether the GOP tries to Lucy the voter one more time. The history of playing up movements like the TEA Party, only to let the media re-write the narrative and how they have (thus far) responded and characterized the Trump supporter doesn't bode well.
@4
Don't worry, the Cruzmissiles will be by shortly to tell us all about how Cruz is only playing ball for us bitter clingers. Sure, he's married to Goldman Sachs. Sure, he's a Club For Growth shill. Sure, his wife was a CFR member. Sure, he gave teddy bears out at the southern border along with Glenn Cuck.
But he's the real deal!
The GOPe had their first chance with the Tea Party. A bunch of white 50-somethings who had played by the rules all their lives and their main demand was that everyone else, especially government, should do the same.
GOPe was happy to co-opt them, but refused to cooperate with them or even defend them - where was all the GOPe indignation when the Left referred to Tea Partiers as "Teabaggers"? They aren't stupid, when GOPe politicans promise action on budgets and then just keep on spending, the Tea Partiers do notice. Oh, yes they do.
I know some local Tea Party people, the majority are solidly behind Trump except for a few who are still for Cruz. None of them had anything good to say about ¡Jeb! a full year ago. None of them like Rubio.
I'm willing to bet it's that way across the US. So Trump is the second chance, and unlike the 50-somethings who had to take time off from work to protest their local Congressional rep's sellout, he's on the job full time.
The Tea Party wanted to work with GOPe. Trump is working against GOPe. The next iteration won't even talk to GOPe.
After that? The dam bursts. Le deluge'.
The donor class of both parties really is like the French aristocracy of the 18th century, it's that far out of touch with reality.
You'll like Cruz even less. Right?
Heck, it's even simpler than that. Democrats have been voting for demagogues who tell then what they want to hear for years... now Republicans have one and they like it.
It's gotten to the point where even the die-hard libertarians have thrown their hands up and said "at last he's not a socialist".
now Republicans have one and they like it.
I think it's more like, "There's no reason to disqualify a candidate because he demagogues, since the alternatives are worse."
Paging Matt Edwards.

TEA Party people tried to make the government play by the rules. GOPe was happy to co-opt them and give them nothing.
I know TEA Party people locally, most are solidly for Trump, some are for Cruz, none of them supported ¡Jeb! even a year ago.
The donor class of both parties reminds me of 18th century French aristocrats, both in terms of sheer arrogant entitlement and in terms of gross ignorance.
In a sense, this whole concept of Donald Trump being an inevitable response reminds me of the concept, "For there to be a hero, there must be a villain."
If GOPe didn't lie, if they weren't corrupt and crooked, then we wouldn't need an anti-establishment hero whether he's Cruz or Trump.
It's very nice to have a hero, but it would have been nicest most of all to have never needed him.
@1 Yes, I couldn't stop laughing. They admit they are at wits end.
The vast majority of Trump’s supporters are good people who we have let down
No, you stabbed us in the back every two years for decades.
We just brought our gun to your knife fight.
They aren’t going away; we need to reintegrate them.
No, we don't need to be reintegrated, you need to be disintegrated.
Trump will make deals but he won't abandon the base. He wants two terms and will get them. The second half of his first term should see a lot of House and Senate turnover.
Anchorman wrote:For the fissure to close, the GOP needs to move to the Trump voter. The idea of "re-integrating" the voter seems suspiciously like, "We just need to convince them" rather than, "We need to actually adopt their ideas."
They've paid lip service to that for years. Not falling for it again. Not this time!
I've been following Kurt on twitter for the last few months. He is slowly coming around. I have actually enjoyed watching the process. He is currently in stage 6 of grief.
The Rockefeller Republicans will take out all and any populists. They did this to Barry Goldwater at the 1964 Republican Convention and they character assassinated Patrick Buchanan who was another populist. Mitt Romney's take down of the Trump is the same as Nelson Rockefeller's take down of Barry Goldwater.

Trump saw a massive hole in the GOP being undeserved, which is blue collar workers who are mild social conservatives. While I don't remember him framing his argument in this manner, he's reshaping the political discourse in to how globalism affects the common man in the US. Since both parties are globalists he arguably found a "business opportunity" and a market to exploit. This is why his appeal reaches outside of the traditional GOP base.

Everything in the vote fraud which Cruz committed in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Alaska and Maine points to Robert Mercer who has a profound talent for writing computer code in simplified terms to overthrow the existing programs in his form of hybrid codex.

Again and again Republicans promised to solve these problems and yet every single time they’ve lied.
There's a big difference between promising to solve a problem and failing (or mostly failing) and lying about what you're trying to do. The fact is the Republicans are enunciating a set of principles that aren't their governing principles once in office.
The Rubio thing is only the most blatant example. Mitch McConnell's failure theater is the more long lasting and pernicious - have a vote that changes the rules so when the official vote on a bill comes up you can vote the way your constituents want you to vote and still lose (like your donors wanted).

"Idiots" is probably an unfair characterization. Not everyone is interested in politics. But after awhile even the people who aren't paying attention start to wonder at the fact the Republicans have majorities in both houses of Congress and yet can't seem to pass anything they promised to pass. While at the same time other things they didn't mention during the campaign, like TPP, just sail through.
I wasn't always plugged in to congressional inside baseball, but even I figured this out during the Bush years they weren't trying to deliver.
I have this theory the filibuster will never go away in the Senate, because it allows this sort of flimflam where you can appear to be doing what your constituents want (and failing, but gosh darn it, we just didn't have the votes!) while actually delivering for your donors.
I've even become cynical enough to believe both parties are happy with the status quo on social issues. The Republicans raise boatloads of money from anti-abortion groups, for example. They'll never endanger that stream of money by winning the issue.
@38. If Trump shot Romney on the street, I'd volunteer for Trump's campaign and send Trump some money.
Some of Rubio's advisers are apparently telling him to drop out prior to the Fla vote.

Well I disagree, this guy still doesn't get it. Still stuck in status-signaling among his ISO 9001 conservative peers. Bitch-slapped hard enough by evidence to go one step further but still thinking tactically instead of strategically, foolishly looking forward to herd the scattered cattle back to the stable. Maybe just maybe, we should have listened and started addressing the real issues. Oh thank you Captain Obvious but it's about damn time once 80%+ of the house is on fire and foreign diplomats start expressing concerns about possibly having to cope with something else than the usual back-scratching. I don't remember Gov. Christie or Sen. Sessions opening their endorsement with a "well he's a phallocentric clown but..."
But hey, why would we bother with taking the time to fully apprehending the situation. We can still reasonably hope to co-opt Cruz or co-exist with Hillary after all.

According to Mike Flynn your instincts are correct. Flynn is a former Breitbart consigliere, who recently ran for Congress in IL (GOPe/Boehner backed Obama's Transportation Sec's son over him). Flynn stated that back in 2009 or so when the ACORN videos were being released, he and Andrew Breitbart received calls from GOP higher ups who begged them not to kill ACORN. The reason? ACORN was great for fundraising.

You're kidding, Libertarians have been more cucky than cuckservatives about Trump's immigration and trade policies. They've been the first ones to call Trump a fascist and Nazi. To the point, I hope Vox amendments Cuckservative to have a chapter addressing the libertarian super cucks.

*shoves a cigar through the USB*
Congratulations Josh. :-)
"We can’t simply will them and their concerns into silence."
This speaks to what I've been wondering about the Cuckservative mentality specific to this. What do they think they will accomplish if they prevent Trump from getting the nom? That its all just a spasm that will subside?
The big problem with calling Trump a "racist Nazi" is that it smears the entire group of people who have voted for him, or are planning to vote for him. As linked in the previous article concerning a guy admitting the real problem, calling out middle Americans as racist bigots, and Fascists won't work.
Even if you think, as I do, that Trump is really a Democrat Trojan Horse who will devastatingly betray those supporting him, that still doesn't make him a "racist Nazi." It just makes him a liar.
I'm actually part of the group that the GOPe are calling racist Nazi's, because I want an outside candidate to blow up the leadership also. The difference is that I would like to salvage something from the wreckage instead of just obliterating everything. Maybe that makes me naive. Or maybe you guys supporting Trump are naive for believing in him. Time will tell. I would just like to harness the anger to accomplish real change, and not have to start over from scratch. But I can't help but be somewhat sympathetic to those who have grown so frustrated that they want to blow it all up and start over.
For me, the Blow It Up moment comes with the secession of Texas (along with Oklahoma and Kansas joining). If Cruz can actually KEEP some of the promises others have been breaking, I'm willing to take a chance on him BEFORE I get to my "Blow It Up" deadline. But it's hard for me to blame others who are already there...
The cucks including the non-orange clown who wrote the piece never, ever disqualified the Left, to them it is unthinkable, the Left while often wrong is still to them the source of AUTHORITY and that is what really matters.
Do you know what would cause the NR cucks the greatest distress? The NYTs burnt to the ground including its hacks. As Rusher told Whitaker back in the 70s NRs flunkies did not believe anything till it was printed in the NYTs. And you think they are any less gimpy these days?
Denying Trump the GOP nomination will destroy all the excitement he was generated in the GOP, lost every bit of his crossover appeal, and cause 20%+ of Republican voters to stay hole on election day.
Hillary get's elected and the GOP fades into eternal irrelevance.
Bitter, yet necessary medicine.
By the way, that "Ted Cruz, please help us stop Trump" article linked in the first comment was roll on the floor funny - even to a Cruz supporter like me.
@89
Yes, this is exactly what they think: all that circus is only your regular election year populist surge, just slightly inflated this time, cuz more racists. For now the plan is as simple as it gets: a) cheat Trump out of the nomination, b) tame Cruz as he will be easier to control than Trump c) back to business as usual, post-Ron Paul 2012 style.
At best it is a warning that conservatives will have to pretend to deliver more on sensible topics, this is what Kurt Schlichter is telling us in a nutshell.
Trump poll numbers are not enough a reason to underestimate what the real state of affairs probably is.

"This is so LIBERAL, it's ridiculous. The GOP didn't lie to the so called base. They didn't promise a Conservative solution in a country that has Liberals, Independents and everything but. The promises and anger was made and fueled by pundits and the talk show mafia that really knew better. "
That's a quote from the article. This fool is in denial.
"Ted Cruz has a new theory: the American political media is in possession of “bombshell” stories about Donald Trump that could ruin him, but are choosing to not publish them for some reason. Ted, I’m here to tell you: we’ve got nothing, and we’re all really fucking freaked out about it."
@1 This reminds me of training I received years ago. You sit on something like this and actually say what it is and ask for the other side to refute it. You repeat without them refuting it until right before the election you drop it. However, Cruz and the GOPe like the military are prepared to fight the last war. They do not understand this is the equivalent of pre-WWI tactics in front of new WWI machinery like the machine gun (and later) and the tank. It's going to be a slaughter.
@6 Right, they need to move closer to the average Trump voter, not the other way around.
@12 Solid article by Scott Adams. I've found myself pleasantly surprised that he has been speaking out in the past year.
@22 CONGRATS JOSH! SO HAPPY FOR YOU!
@55 Honey, what's for breakfast this morning?
@65 You're more right than you know that both parties are happy with the status quo. The afterward to Michael Chriton's A State of Fear comes to mind. I remember when I interned for my Congressman (now retired) years ago how I was stunned near the end of my internship some of the LAs (legislative assistants) at his direction were compiling a list of states that did not have "no text and/or no phone" laws while driving. I got the impression that he (a Republican) was planning on introducing a federal bill in the House to streamline the situation. I'd be curious to know how many Congressmen and Senators know that we have interstate compacts, not some federal law, giving reciprocity for driver's licenses.
@77 That does not surprise me.
@85 Since they by and large serve no useful purpose (Hunter and Sessions excepted), I'd love to see them implode. #winning!
@92 They are that insular that they believe it'll subside. Morons.
I had a discussion with a friend yesterday about manufacturing. He retorted with he didn't want his iPhone (I have one too) made Stateside due to labor unions striking for higher wages. He said we just needed to end federal welfare and EBT. I asked him where are these people freed off of welfare and EBT going to get jobs because they have to compete with foreign workers (even the low skilled ones)? His response was Ted Cruz should be support, not Trump. *sigh* They don't get. If we do not get immigration taken care of there will not be a country to protect. If they think abortion is bad now, wait until the 3rd world hordes overwhelm us. Good luck on that.
@119 He was a few cards short of a deck near the end there.
@121 >Get some rest while you still can, and the same goes for the wife.
Amen to that. I don't know you Josh, but the one piece of advice I can get is...sleep while you can right now, because it will soon be a beloved memory for both you and you wife for a while.
Congratulations Josh.

Eh, all this "get some sleep" advice is for the birds. I slept like a king with my kids.
Keep the kid on the booby and sleeping next to momma. Everybody is happier. Kiddo gets hungry, gives the right snort, momma puts a boob in his mouth, and everyone goes back to sleep.
Trumps still angering foreigners -

Mine wans't too bad at night but when my momma and daddy (as well as the in-laws) said give some cereal with that formula
They'll sleep pretty much all night." They were right.
(Much apologies to people not interested in 1912 Ladies Home Journal stuff.)
Josh , you got a smile on your face that 100 people could not slap off, u damn betcha .
This one has a funny as hell photo, some mexican holding up a sign saying "McCain is a hero, Trump is a Chump!"

Congrats on the newest member of the Trumpenstaffel, Josh.
"Glad to hear it. Congratulations. Is it true you're naming him Donald?"
AWCA...inDEED.
" Congrats Josh. What are you doing here? We don't have cigars or scotch.
He owes ya.
If you name the kid Der Baron Von Trump as his rightful title, this could be settled quickly. What sayeth you ?
If Trump was smart he would skip the debate this Thursday.
Hmm DJT - Donald Josh Trump ?
Just kidding!
Awesomeness and joy from the Lord to Josh, mom and baby!! Congrats!
Lord in Heaven, I went to Charlotte's 2003 CPAC or cucksrepub whatever, sensed/saw quickly I was or my views were not inline with the stupidityboomerhumorneoconagenda.
Nein, Ei, not afraid of Trump or any politician, so far I've lost everything so 'things' don't really apply to me, ideas and policies are what I am following.

Trump has not lost a debate he has been in , so far. fuck polls, real world stuff, bust it down for us o wise ones.

Some wankers on LinkedIn are claiming that this shows Europeans trying to get to North Africa during WWII.
However, I have never heard of such an event during WWII (except, perhaps for Jews trying to get to the Middle East, and Palestine in particular), and it looks very much like the ship in this video
That is exactly the opposite event. In other words, a lie. Vlora was a notorious case of refugees getting INTO Europe.
Basically, those are Albanians trying to get to Italy during the Balkans war.

And by Balkans War, I mean 1991. They converted the photo to B&W and told you it was WWII.
And by "trying" I mean 20,000 Albanians literally swarmed and hijacked a cargo ship.
"Mitt Romney's take down of the Trump is the same as Nelson Rockefeller's take down of Barry Goldwater. "
With one, all-important difference: The anger at the Goldwater takedown is what fueled the Reagan Revolution.
The young, active and energized conservatives do not need to be created again, nor is the momentum of the Tea Party done.
Rockefeller's hatchet job worked.
Romney's did not.
Welcome to the 21st Century.
The wiki page has the same damn photo. In color.
At best it is a warning that conservatives will have to pretend to deliver more on sensible topics, this is what Kurt Schlichter is telling us in a nutshell.
Damn cucks need to pretend harder. You're not pretending hard enough!
Congrats Josh. No, you'll never quite stop worrying if they're still breathing when they're asleep.

Albanians. So the same old Muslim invaders as always?
"Our problem is not this digitally-challenged, bizarrely phallocentric clown"
This guy does not get it at all. Rubio is the one who started in with the pee pee jokes. No irony there at all...
Also this has nothing to do with being reintegrated. This is about kicking losers to the curb.
Demagogues gonna demagogue.
What an annoying word.
Young, these folks express my thoughts much better than I can.

Josh, Congrats. Don't worry about getting sleep, you'll be so worn out you'll get plenty.
The photo of the Vlora from Wikipedia seems to be from a slightly different angle. This seems to be the one they used.
Another website admits that the photo is a fake, and says:
Despite this picture Germans and other europeans did flee during World War 2 to safer places in North Africa and top destination was North America according to BBC History At the peak period, in July 1946, 14,400 people a day were being dumped over the frontier and had to flee using boats across the Danube river and to black Sea.
Spot the numerous errors.

They saw Casablanca and know there is some history there to support it. They just gotta find some photos without cigarettes in them.
Donald Trump’s Amazing Hostile Takeover of the GOP
The most wonderful thing is all the self-inflicted wounds the GOPe who seems to be as the frenzied priests of Baal trying to get fire to come down from heaven. But our Elijah can call down fire that will consume even water soaking the sacrifice. Max Lucado omits the last verse - the punchline. Then Elijah slaughters every last one of those priests. (1 Kings 18:40)
The establishment doesn't know what it is like to be unemployed when politicians do things to destroy your jobs.
Trump is our sweet revenge. They will know. Especially the ones who are indicted and convicted. Trump says he doesn't settle lawsuits. Maybe we can get rid of plea-bargaining.
NR - Cuck-tholic edition (Oh for the Late Sobran or Buchanan) Is at it again
We urge our fellow Catholics and all our fellow citizens to reject his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination by supporting a genuinely reformist candidate.
Whom exactly? Bernie? Where were all of you at NR during 2012 when Ron Paul was running. Oh that's right, sabotaging him because he wasn't a blood-thirsty neo-con.
It's a little weird to see the WaPo openly referring to GOP "elites" and their "private conversations" with them.

There isn't anything left to destroy.

You're not the only one. A lot of people out there have lost almost everything during these Obama years.

They were doing their best to sabotage Paul, Cain, Newt, any of them. They were pushing Small Mittens. Combine that with the purges, and NR had gone full potato even back then. I remember them writing glowing articles about how Paul Ryno was sleeping in his office, because he's a man of the people. Really useless magazine.

Well, for one thing, "Jew" isn't spelled "european".
