We got us a runner

Matt Walsh bravely strode forth to conquer the Lion Guard:
Matt Walsh ‏@MattWalshBlog
I will debate any conservative media Trump shill who made my blacklist. I'm "just a blogger" so it should be easy to beat me, right?
Someone brought it to my attention, and as will probably surprise no one, I answered the call:
Ronald James ‏@ron3name
If you're serious hit up @voxday. He's pretty good at demolishing churchian cucks, when he has time and can be bothered.

Supreme Dark Lord ‏@voxday
.@ron3names @MattWalshBlog I will debate you any time, Matt. And yes, it will be very easy to beat you up.
Thereby prompting Matt to imitate a contortion artist in coming up with excuses for why he is only going to debate people with their own show, which is to say, people who don't know who Matt Walsh is and could not care less. One observer on Twitter characterized it thusly:

>be a cuck
>offer to debate
>vox: ahem
>ohshit.exe
>to cuck/not to cuck
>"I don't debate trolls!"
>secret king wins…

See, Matt is TOO IMPORTANT a blogger to debate another blogger. Especially one whose readership he DWARFS!
Matt Walsh ‏@MattWalshBlog
My readership is several million a month. Dwarfs yours and it's not close.
And yet, he keeps running, running, running. Diagnosis: Gamma.

He would have been better off saying he won't debate you because you're not a "conservative media Trump shill". Or because you're not on his blacklist.

"We got us a runner"

Reminds me of when I worked at a summer camp for disabled children. There was a week where we had children with Down Syndrome, and some of them were actually runners. You had to watch them to make sure they didn't run away from the group.

Really apt here, I have to say. Yes, Matt Walsh, if you're reading this, you remind me of children with Down Syndrome.

Blogger White Knight Leo #0368 March 21, 2016 2:39 PM

I don't recall him putting up any conditions that his opponent's readership had to be comparable.

Blogger tweell March 21, 2016 2:40 PM

Brave Sir Matt ran away
(No!)
Bravely ran away away
(I didn't!)
When danger reared its ugly head
He bravely turned his tail and fled
(No!)
Yes, brave Sir Matt turned about
(I didn't!)
And gallantly he chickened out

Bravely taking to his feet
(I never did!)
He beat a very brave retreat
(All lies!)
Bravest of the brave, Sir Matt!
(I never!)

Blogger VD March 21, 2016 2:44 PM

Are all Gammas overt pussies like this Walsh guy, or is that a subset?

Pretty much. What's specific to Gammas is that they will run away while denying that they are doing so and rationalizing it as a victory in their heads. A Delta might run, even an Alpha might chicken out if faced with a sufficiently intimidating Alpha, but he'll own it.

Sigmas have no problem running. Or admitting as much.

Anonymous Broken Arrow March 21, 2016 2:46 PM

"Are all Gammas overt pussies like this Walsh guy, or is that a subset?"

All. A Gamma routinely makes claims and pronouncements he can't back up and hopes that nobody calls him out on it. When someone does, he immediately looks to disqualify the reason and find to support from his tribe. His tribe help supports the delusion bubble.

After Matt finds a reason not to debate Vox watch his followers on twitter offer moral support to his cowardly decision and talk about how awful Vox is.

This is all going to happen in typical pattern.

Why do Gammas fear defeat so much? Every great man has been defeated at one time or another, and it's not the end of the world. Are Gammas unaware of this fact, or is it a deep psychological problem rooted in childhood, i.e. a parent who punished them for failing?

Bingo. They are taught that failure at a task is failure as a person and life so they taught to lie to themselves and others.

Why do Gammas fear defeat so much? Every great man has been defeated at one time or another

They have never overcome defeat. Thomas Edison failed at making light bulbs over 200 times till he got it right. For the conservative, when life presents great struggles, he knows he has the power to surmount them. Happiness stems from internal strength and perseverance. For the liberal, when life presents great struggles, the system failed, therefore they were at the mercy of a faulty system, and they believe that only when the system is fixed can their life improve. Happiness is built on systemic contingencies, which they will then seek to control or expect someone else to.

Gammas are basically Caitlyn Jenner, fearing manhood, but absolutely unsure how to pass as a woman.

He gets some traffic at The Blaze, but a readership of several million (page views or uniques?) a month seems steep when he's only published 12 articles in the last 50 days and done 4 podcasts (`5k views each). Maybe he's relying on facebook and twitter, but that's not quite the same.

He's done some good work in the past, but like many recently, he's gone full "attack the rightists." I suspect that, like Glenn Beck, he thrives economically when people are upset and angry. When actual solutions to at least some of the problems that face our country look imminent, or even possibly, potentially so, they have to fight against them tooth and nail, because then, who would read their angry rants and drive traffic to their corners of the internet?

Plus, he has a tendency towards logorrhea. Finding the point in one of his posts is worse than trying to find Waldo.

If Trump can't lock up a clear win, it doesn't matter. Gameplan:
1. Get Michelle to back down. Explain to her she can take the $100 million, or her daughters get a one way ticket to Yemen. Hillary will have to pony up some of the funds, so that will placate her. TPTB will kick in the rest.

2. FBI recommends indictment. Obama refuses. Probably May 15, or the normal 2 week attention span.

3. Hillary goes to the primary and is nominated. Emailgate more or less blown over.

4. Brokered convention. Repubs nominate Jeb or Kasich or Romney. They deliberately want to lose. They get their pay off.

5. Trump goes 3rd party.

6. Hillary 51%, Trump 43%, Jeb 8%.

7. Hillary wins.

Even if Trump wins the delegates outright, TPTB will launch a third party run to make sure Hillary wins. This would be the only shot for Trump to win. He has to get a majority of the delegates.

Yeah, but VD compared Walsh's old site to VP and noted that VP was higher. Then Walsh said "you have to compare your site to my new site where the millions are." From a cursory glance, that seems like some puffery. Not Scalzi-like puffery, as Walsh gets traffic, but I just don't see how a current readership in the millions can be accurate when he has published 12 articles since the beginning of February. Maybe it is. I know he used to get at some points over million page views a month back in 2013 or whatever.

The real point is that he made a debate challenge and then ran away. Never understood why people make challenges like that on the internet. I know that VD and others won't let him forget this if he doesn't agree to one.

Don't know. I changed my perspective. I thought the "violence" narrative was a big loser. Then it hit me they only need to siphon off about 5%. Hillary starts with 43% of the vote, the government check parasites. She just needs the feminists and metrosexuals. The Republicans (elite) don't want to win, they want to elect Hillary. Siphon off 5% of the Repubs and they are close. Trump picks up the blue collar union vote, so it will be close. But count on a third party run against Trump, assuming he gets past the convention.

Anonymous WaterBoy March 21, 2016 4:46 PM

By the numbers: Donald Trump will (almost certainly) never be elected president. Here’s why.

"With Donald Trump steamrolling towards the GOP nomination, the political chatter is increasingly focused on whether Trump could win a general election by making surprise inroads into states in the industrial Midwest. Many Democrats and nonpartisan observers see this as probably the only plausible (if that’s even the right word for it) path for Trump, who might do this mainly by running up huge numbers among white voters — particularly blue collar whites.

But a new examination of the demographics and projected voting patterns in some of the key Rust Belt states underscores just how unlikely this really is. To succeed, this analysis finds, Trump would likely have to improve on Mitt Romney’s advantage over Barack Obama among blue collar whites by double digit margins, which is an astronomically high bar — in almost all of these states.
"

More fallout from declining white numbers in these population segments.

However if someone of higher status does debate him and tears him to shreds (Maybe Ann Coulter will have a few minutes), he will spin it into victory or at least a draw like the black knight from Monty Python.

Gammas also are trying to increase their status, but their path is warped - hamsters on a Mobius strip. They do realize if anyone who is of lesser status (I think they are the biggest on Credentialing) challenges them, and there is a chance of losing to them so their status goes down, they will bravely run away away. They can also use a higher status opponent as a source of excuses if they lose, but will crow if they even strike a blow.

Every time Matt changes his profile or cover pic, he looks worse. I mean like further down the spiral stair of mental illness. I don't know where in the Blazes he's headed but what's the over-under on full mental collapse and whether it's triggered by drug and alcohol abuse or his wife leaving him?

Hi Mr. Walsh, may I call you Matthew? You are super cool, so right on so many things. So I have a offer like a request...

Matthew, talk (little debate) with Vox or Expect LP to visit your tweets. I want to play a game.

All for fun, intellect and whatever piques your interest, anyways, I'm not a troll, dont run from me, time to talk with Vox or Expect LP to drop by and say hi.

@75

Conservatives stayed home instead of voting for Romney. Also, I've met Democrats who have never voted Republican, but switched parties and voted for Trump in the primary. These are union guys, blue collar workers. If Trump loses will all these people voting for him, then the demographic transition is complete and conservatives will never win another presidential year election, ever.

@74 WaterBoy

From that article: "In each of these, Teixeira assumes that the Democratic candidate (likely Hillary Clinton) will win the same share of the nonwhite and college educated white vote that Obama did, which, if anything, is generous to Trump."

Huh? How on earth is it generous to Trump to assume Shrillary will keep pace with Obama among nonwhites (basically, black people if we're talking about the Rust Belt)?

Blogger Steve Moss March 21, 2016 5:35 PM

6. Hillary 51%, Trump 43%, Jeb 8%.

Even Bill Clinton never received more than 50% of the popular vote (43%, then 49%). No way Hillary Clinton gets more votes than Bill.

Haha, I did think you were joking! Just thought I'd pile on.

Seriously, if you are at all familiar with Tom Green's comedy or his history, it's pretty clear the guy has no fear. So it's surprising he's such a pussy when it comes to Trump.

Electoral vote, not popular. Trump has a shot. Cruz doesn't have a prayer. However the Repub elite will run third party to get Hillary elected.

@80 when we finally replace twitter, we need a "Dorian Gray" avatar mode. Perhaps this would be a prototype?

I feel sorry for Matt. Even before the Trumpening, it seemed he was getting out of his depth. His "voice" was very constraining, leaving him little room to admit missteps, even though he made very broad rhetorical poses. It wasn't at the same intellectual level of VP, but not necessarily a bad thing.

After the Trumpening, it seems he's gone beyond the point of no return, and I can't even bear to look at the train wreck.

@26 Broken Arrow

They are taught that failure at a task is failure as a person and life so they taught to lie to themselves and others

Yeah. They are afraid of being disliked if they fail at anything.

I still hate how much of my life I've wasted outgrowing that kind of background.

And it is a refusal to lie to oneself that sets one free from that path.

Blogger Doc Rampage March 22, 2016 1:37 AM

He was punching up, trying to increase his own audience by getting on a show. That's why he said he'd debate a media figure. Why would he be interested in debating another blogger in an event that would take a lot of time and work but isn't likely to budge his numbers? That's not cowardice; it's good strategy.

Anonymous YoMan March 22, 2016 2:51 AM

Ironic that he's using Trump's logic to decline the debate when he has nothing to gain. I doubt he recognizes it, though. He certainly would never admit that Trump's call was the right one.

Anonymous Rick Hale March 22, 2016 11:48 AM

That's exactly right. Debating Vox would garner him little attention, and would also open him to more ridicule than he encounters on The Blaze.

Blogger borderwalker March 22, 2016 2:07 PM

For a guy who gets "...several million..." hits a month, there isn't a lot going on over there. The most recent posts (some of which are weeks old at this point) have 3 comments, 0 comments, 2 comments, etc.

I tend to assume that (all other things being equal) few comments means few actual readers. What am I missing?
