Embracing America's unique heritage

You may not believe Donald Trump. But unlike all the other candidates, he is saying precisely the right things on immigration, on foreign policy, on war, on free trade, and on the existence of the American national interest.
I will seek a foreign policy that all Americans, whatever their party, can support, and which our friends and allies will respect and welcome.

The world must know that we do not go abroad in search of enemies, that we are always happy when old enemies become friends, and when old friends become allies.

To achieve these goals, Americans must have confidence in their country and its leadership again.

Many Americans must wonder why our politicians seem more interested in defending the borders of foreign countries than their own.

Americans must know that we are putting the American people first again. On trade, on immigration, on foreign policy – the jobs, incomes and security of the American worker will always be my first priority.

No country has ever prospered that failed to put its own interests first. Both our friends and enemies put their countries above ours and we, while being fair to them, must do the same.

We will no longer surrender this country, or its people, to the false song of globalism.

The nation-state remains the true foundation for happiness and harmony. I am skeptical of international unions that tie us up and bring America down, and will never enter America into any agreement that reduces our ability to control our own affairs.

NAFTA, as an example, has been a total disaster for the U.S. and has emptied our states of our manufacturing and our jobs. Never again. Only the reverse will happen. We will keep our jobs and bring in new ones. Their will be consequences for companies that leave the U.S. only to exploit it later.

Under a Trump Administration, no American citizen will ever again feel that their needs come second to the citizens of foreign countries.

I will view the world through the clear lens of American interests.

I will be America’s greatest defender and most loyal champion. We will not apologize for becoming successful again, but will instead embrace the unique heritage that makes us who we are.
I would like to get a copy of On the Question of Free Trade into his hands. I suspect he might find it very useful in the near term. In any event, read the whole thing. It's a great foreign policy speech.

"We will no longer surrender this country, or its people, to the false song of globalism."

How can you not support the man at this point?

Like I said before, neither myself nor my husband invited since 2006. We will vote in 2016 for Donald Trump. I honestly do think he stands a good chance of beating Hillary.

He has changed the tone of the conversation. America's nationalism lags behind your Europe's, but it is rising.

Anonymous Bobby Farr April 27, 2016 5:57 PM

It is like the man reads my mind and says what I want to hear (isn't that what politicians are supposed to do). He has advocated for every position that was part of the American right prior to WW2. Actually accomplishing his goals in demographically gutted USA is another matter but no one else has even pretended to be on the right side of issues since Buchanan. And no one with these views has been in the White House since Coolidge.

Not to mention that his statements on Christianity and Western Civilization are shots across the bow for SJWs and the degenerate liberals that support them.

Or the part:

"he bowed to our enemies"

Image to mind: Saudi princes.

Or the shot at the writers, pundits, and the Washington establishment who only had death and destruction to their names.

And all the little one word emotion shots encapsulating the emotion he wanted you to feel after each important statement. Masterly!

Anonymous Steve April 27, 2016 6:14 PM

I read the transcript.

It was an astonishing speech, not for any particular flowery language, but for how simply and clearly he demolished every single plank of the Republican-Democrat globalist consensus that's dominated US policy since 1991.

This is truly radical stuff. Far more so than anything I've heard Bernie Sanders say.

Peter Schiff is calling for anyone who pays attention to him to short the dollar. So it will be interesting to see what Trump does in a recession that is supposed to be bigger than 08. I'm hoping he despite the unpopularity of it let's the free market correct itself. But who knows? He has led a populist campaign so far.

Iran does act like pricks to us, so there's that. He's not neocon for the simple reason that he thinks neoconnery (knocking over Muslim countries and attempting to police them into democracy) is a terrible idea. Nor is he reflexively hostile to Russia, and unlike the neocons, he actually is against ISIS.

Bleh. Not reading. People who vote for people because of speeches deserve what they get. Look, I get the feel that Trump is an old time pro-American politician. Is he? A speech isn't going to tell me, or convince me, or get me to change my mind. If I was to listen to a speech, it would be to go and support, in hope. No more. Still, let them go. I hope it learns them not to go by speeches, or debates. What then? Their general stances, some specific ones, who they are picking for this and that, and understanding that they are all lying douches to some extent, and that they won't be able to do a quarter of what they promise and most of them would rather do less.

If it looks like it will be tight, I might even part the crowd trundling in to vote. But I won't go hear a speech or debate.

Anonymous Philalethes April 27, 2016 6:52 PM

I guess this was the first full Trump speech I've seen/heard (watched it live). Supposedly he was using some teleprompting, but I saw no tells. Very impressed. Of course, there was much in it I could have done without – kissing Zionist ass, running down Iran, building up the US military (for what, if we're not going to run the world?) – but which I know was unavoidable. A real movement toward America First will eventually take care of these anomalies.

(Not that I'm a fan of Iran, but funny how nobody ever mentions that Iran had a democratic government until 1953, when a CIA-orchestrated coup took it down, eventually putting the Shah in place for the benefit of British-American oil interests. Which is why Israel can be touted as "the only democracy in the Middle East" – another buzz-phrase Trump included. Iran has every good reason to be our enemy, thanks to our own government's actions.)

But all in all, it was a masterful speech. The train is definitely fine, and picking up speed; if you're on the tracks, better get off.

Meanwhile, over at Breitbart one (((Joel Pollak))) opines that "Trump Risks Charles Lindbergh Label with ‘America First’ Foreign Policy Speech". (I hadn't looked into Lindbergh before, but from the quote here it turns out that – just like Joseph McCarthy a decade later – he was exactly, precisely correct.) They're really stretching, but the commenters aren't buying it.

I am flabbergasted when I hear people say Hillary will beat Trump. Actually, what they say is, Trump cannot win against Hillary.

Nonsense. Hillary just lost!

Today I heard on the radio someone say that Hillary's winning strategy against Trump's relentless personal attacks will be to play the Victim Card!

I shouted at the radio:

"No one votes for a Victim for President!"

I would correct that now to say, "No one but a Victim votes for a Victim for President!"

Umm...no. If anything, we've skimped on R&D. People forget that most of the hardware we're using are 1970's and 1980's designs. Which our rivals can match. A Su-27 Flanker will go eyeball to eyeball with an F-15. Part and parcel of the Strategy of Technology is maintaining a technical advantage.

People not involved in the business (and many who are) underestimate just how hard it is to get a software-intensive system ready to fight. It's not like a PC - if that dies, you restart it. If the guidance computer on an airplane dies, you've got a hundred-million-dollar smoking hole.

I'd argue that mil research isn't the problem...at all. Going off of 2015 FYI for 2016 we should spend 69 billion on military R&D compared to 209 billion for operations and maintenance in our base budget or 12% versus 35%. This also doesn't factor in the increase of overseas pay that boost up the 139 billion dollars needed for military personnel.

Or to put it another way, back in 2009 it was reported that the cost to maintain all our troops, equipment, fleets and bases overseas amounted to 250 billion. Find a way to cut that down by half, either by walking away from "allies" or getting others to foot the bill would free up 125 billion dollars. Boom you just found money to support veterans and still maintain R&D and acquisitions.

Trump / Kratman 2016 for the LOLZ!

Now as for that decision by Cruz.

Fiorina? Fiorina?

Cruz “reached out” to Carly I Nearly Killed Hewlitt-Packard Singlehanded Fiorina?
Carly Failed Cali Politico Fiorina?

Well, garsh, was it her track record that Cruz’s campaign finds appealing, or her “can’t play with others” personality, I wonder?

Either way it is a remarkably poor personnel decision, and since personnel is policy it reveals much about Cruz.

As for Fiorina,..

You gotta wake up next to women like that to see what they really look like--her front 4 teeth are soaking in a water filled ash tray next to the bed--she's still too sleepy to look straight ahead so one eye is laid up next to her nose--her perm has been wallered up into a point stickin' up on top of her head like a rooster comb, both of her ears are stickin' straight out--and there's a rubber titty on the bedpost.

Hillary has been having a hard time against an old Jewish man who's been tipping his fedora against her instead of tearing into her. A significant amount of Bernie Bros. could end up voting 3rd Party or not vote, let alone voting for Trump. She's filthy in dirt (Benghazi, Bill's sex scandals where she silenced an accuser, the disaster in Kebabland, getting a pedo off the hook and laughing about it). She's not actually popular with women by large as opposed to feminists. She doesn't have Obama's magical negro savior image to sail on.

It ain't like it's new. Look up the Mk 6 Exploder fiasco from WWII days. The Navy's BuOrd came up with a fancy magnetic torpedo detonator, fired two test shots (one exploded, one didn't) called it good and locked the design up so nobody would leak the "secret weapon." They developed another contact detonator that was the same size so they could be swapped out when war came, but didn't test the magnetic ones again.

Then the Japs threatened to invade the West Coast, so the Navy distributed the Mk 6's, which failed to work. Subs and destroyers fired around 1,000 of them, reporting premature detonations, failed detonations, and other problems, for basically two years.

BuOrd insisted the idiots commanding the subs and destroyers were doing it wrong, that their superweapon couldn't be at fault, even though Albert freakin Einstein himself told them it wouldn't work.

Finally, COMSUBPAC conducted some experiments of his own and proved the damn things were defective.

While modern Western civilization shares many of these traits, the civilization I’m talking about was the Islamic world from the year 800 to 1600, which included the Ottoman Empire and the courts of Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo, and enlightened rulers like Suleiman the Magnificent.

Although we are often unaware of our indebtedness to this other civilization, its gifts are very much a part of our heritage. The technology industry would not exist without the contributions of Arab mathematicians. Sufi poet-philosophers like Rumi challenged our notions of self and truth. Leaders like Suleiman contributed to our notions of tolerance and civic leadership.

Reason why the military does so bad on RnD? We've got the generals and colonels for a force sufficiant to run WW2 with many different war zones, and huge armies.

So we have 90% more high level officers than we need. They thus have to invent something to justify their existence.

Hence massive time taken to do not much research.

Of course Trump's children are natural born citizens. They were born on U.S. soil while being under the legal jurisdiction of the U.S. (because their father was a lawful U.S. citizen).

under the current definition of NBC, practically everyone is an NBC.

Marco Rubio is one of the few who can't meet even that low bar ( both parents foreign nationals at time of birth ).

the point is this: occupying the Presidency is a *Privilege*, NOT a 'Right'.

the Privilege of the head executive in the United States is RESTRICTED to only "Natural Born Citizens". the reason for this is as a basic bar to prevent people with competing allegiances from occupying the country.

ANY definition of Natural Born Citizen which would
a - categorize the same person as being NBC for two different nations simultaneously
b - allow the child of a presidential assassin ( June Oswald )

is completely fucking useless.

and that's the definition we've got right now.

ie -
1 - at least one parent a US citizen
2 - father having been a resident within the US PRIOR TO the birth

this is how Ted Cruz, Canadian citizen up until 2013 "qualifies" to run for the office.

Ted's mom was a US citizen who met Rafael at the Uni of TX / Austin ( that satisfies the 'father resident' req ).

according to this definition, all of Trump's children, regardless of geographic birth location, qualify.

that they do NOT accept this, speaks rather highly of their integrity.

My former place of employment doesn't have support for databases, so while winning a contract to modernize one of our military vehicles, database building and management was awarded to a different, rival company.

In response, my former place of employment dropped the database portion, claiming it wasn't needed, and created a flat file module that escalated the complexity, cost, and timeline for the project.

After millions of wasted money, the program crashed.

That was straight-up high-fucking-art.

I see the CIA has come out to play. They are so mature aren't they? Maybe they'll start mentioning buggery again. It seems to be mandatory at the top academies today.
The military budget should be employing Americans. The problem is we have corruption instead of innovation. That lowest bidder rule always amused me. You get what you pay for right? Except in this case the insider lets the crook low-ball and then overbill to pad his retirement account. Never trust armchair Generals, they never have to use a faulty gun that blows up in their face.

I am Jack's complete lack of fucking surprise...

While we're on the subject of conspiracies, which is more egregious? Jooooos, or (((Parentheses with gravitas)))?

Coupled with Cruz's shameful VP pick (weren't the hardcore Cruz "Never Trump" claiming that Donald's biggest weakness was that he wasn't a true conservative? Yet they cheer Fiorina, who is far more leftist than Trump ever was?!), I am all in for Trump at this point.

The dream (nightmare) of the socialist internationalists in the EU, NATO, etc. is one paved with the blood of millions of corpses.

Oh its not those jews, its reptilian aliens huh? I recognize the CIA, they suck at their job. Their disinfo is worse than samizdat. That fake consensus shit doesn't work on the Net dummy. We're not paid to agree with you, like those bow-tie wearing fags on Mole Newz.
Old Rupert is getting senile. He made all his dough with titties, but those are not the boobs we're looking for old man.

We need to go back to the NBC definition accepted by the founders, i.e.,

1. Both parents citizens.
2. Born on US soil.

Anti-Trumps are like:

When is he going to address America's low fertility rate?

Anonymous mature craig April 28, 2016 7:21 AM

Re 134. I don't see how there is any other day to look at Cruz then as undermining the constitution by running and then insulting the country's intelligence on top of that by talking about his love for the constitution. Now I am officially angry at him for non personal reasons as well

C'mon. He may well be a really big dog alpha, but nobody can address that by themselves.

More seriously; the way to address the fertility rate is to change conditions such that people don't believe that kids are so expensive (from experience, I can tell you that the perceived price is much more than the actual price) and the way to do that is to improve the economy, and remove all of the regulatory structure that has resulted in de facto price fixing for things like, say, college costs.

You've gotta admit that picking his VP at this point in the process was a ballsy, outside the box kind of move, though. Even if his pick was laughable.

Maybe next week he'll announce where he's going to place his presidential library (What're the odds on Havana and Calgary?)

Blogger Josh April 28, 2016 8:34 AM

Nope, it's pure desperation, at this point he knows he's got nothing to lose. Too bad his choice is on comical/surreal level, it really is so idiotic one must be wondering if Ted is right in the head and all that

Of course they expect to leech off the entire world.

how in the ever living fuck is Russia achieving "technological superiority" over us when we are spending more than 8x their budget?

No affirmative action deadweight. Actually dead weight would be preferable you have to entertain their ideas not just give them a paycheck and hope they play solitaire all day.

if our President had any balls.

He has an NBA teams worth of balls come over whenever Mooshell is out of the house.

When is he going to address America's low fertility rate?

Stop making productive people pay for Latrina's 21 crack babies, then they can afford to have kids of their own.

The way to stress the low fertility rate is to yell at child fathering aged men to stop looking at things u shouldn't look at on the internet

"Considering the incredible alliance of dark forces behind globalism, and I literally mean dark forces, I'm now wondering how long until Trump suffers from some sort of mysterious illness."

If we look at it at that level, he's obviously a threat...and should have been incapacitated months ago, which would mean, spiritually, he's got his house in order enough to be protected.

Blogger Gaiseric April 28, 2016 2:33 PM

A the "America First" Lindburgh story is starting to make at least a few rounds in the MSM, it strikes me that Trump (or his speech writer) was probably quite well aware of the connotations. While to most of the audience, it's just a common sense slogan, a variation on Make America Great Again, it could also have been a subtle (or maybe not so subtle) hint that the (((neocons))) of both parties day is over, and (((our friends))) can stop expecting to take advantage of our previous generosity.

If that section of the Constitution has not been amended, that is still the definition. And no, it hasn't been amended.

> A the "America First" Lindburgh story is starting to make at least a few rounds in the MSM

It wasn't original to Lindbergh. There was a book published in 1923 called America First. http://www.amazon.com/America-First-Patriotic-Readings-Anonymous/dp/114607140X

Blogger Akulkis April 30, 2016 4:48 PM

You can't imagine, in your head, Trump speaking the "unspeakable truths" like he's been doing for the past 9 months, but in a debate with Hillary, and delving into ALL of her ineffectiveness at her assigned duties, her malfeasance when in positions of authority, and her criminality that is non-stop, all the time, regardless of whatever else is going on her life.

One debate, and she's through. Once the millenials hear about her 6 dozen scandals, they'll either vote for Trump, or sit at home. Considering that Democrats DEPEND on the under-30 crowd giving the Dems overwhelming support out of ignorance... that right there will be the kill shot to her campaign. And unlike the 70-year old biddies who support her, the young DO have the capability of understanding what the hell is wrong with doing above-top-secret work on an unsecured email server in your bathroom closet.
