The Indiana KO

The Indiana primary should be enough to put an end to Cruz's campaign, but we'll have to wait and see if he comes to his senses yet. The shrieking, crying, and dire predictions from the conservative media bodes well for Trump.

UPDATE: "TRUMP WINS INDIANA IN LANDSLIDE..."

54% Trump
34% Cruz
09% Kasich

That will do it. Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee.

UPDATE 2: Note the name of the post. Cruz is out. The GOP establishment has been officially, and conclusively, Trumped.
Ted Cruz is quitting the presidential race, according to campaign manager Jeff Roe, ending one of the best-organized campaigns of 2016 after a series of stinging defeats left Donald Trump as the only candidate capable of clinching the nomination outright.

Cruz had appeared likely to go all the way to the Republican convention, but a string of massive losses in the Northeast, and his subsequent defeat in Indiana, appear to have convinced him there’s no way forward.

There's been some of all of them, but we're getting to the depression part in the major players.

Would be nice to see an end to the shrieking, crying, etc., from the Cruz camp.

But whatever you all might think of Cruz, we do need a plan B, and there is no better one at the moment. There's no chance of drafting Ann Coulter in such an emergency. It would have to be Cruz.

Nice try, GOPe.

As long as you're registered to vote in IN, you can ask for either the R or D ballot, so this probably increased voter turn out.

Amazing accomplishment by Trump. He faced a huge field, was massively outspent by Rubio, Jeb and Cruz, was opposed by the entire leftist establishment, including stronger opposition from GOPe than they ever mustered against a Democrat, and was pursued at his rallies by violent hordes of foreigners. And still he is going to get an absolute majority of the delegates and the most votes in Republican primary history.

Trump addresses Cruz about Oswald for two reasons:

#1) It really got under Sen. Cruz's skin. He should have said, "That's nuts!" and moved on. Instead, he had to get wound up and do that Shakespearean monologue.
#2) You address a crazy person about crazy subjects to demonstrate they are crazy. It was belittling. We didn't hear Mr. Trump spend the day talking about it - we heard Sen. Cruz spend the day talking about Oswald. That's the gibbering of a crazy person. The way for Sen. Cruz to have won that point was to dismiss it out of hand and then avoid it completely.

Plan B? Why not Bernie? Hasn't he carried more states than Cruz? If we are going to go with a globalist, Bernie is almost as globalist as the Canadian can'tdidate, and probably more electable.

Why would we need a plan B? Haven't we already damaged the GOPe branch of the globalists? Haven't we already established that you can run a successful campaign as a nationalist? Haven't we made immigration a national issue? How much more damage can we do this election? 2016 is pretty much won, whatever happens to Trump, and now we need to be thinking about 2018 and 2020.

We need to be looking for brash nationalists who aren't cucks, never apologize, and we need to be running them for local, state and national office. We need to be doing that under the banner of a party that isn't dominated by the globalists and their pet cuckservatives. If Trump wins, that could be the (R) party. If Trump loses, it will probably be the party which coalesces around him. Either way, plan B sounds like a bad plan - especially if it means backing yet another globalist traitor.

Cruz now has more in common with the Black Knight From Monty Python and the Holy Grail than anything else I can think of.

*Trump wins Super Tuesday*

Trump: Now stand aside, worthy adversary.

Trump: You lost Super Tuesday...

Cruz: I've had worse.

Trump: You liar!

Cruz: Come on, you pansy!

Trump: Victory is mine! I've now won Super Tuesday 2! *Trump Kneels* We thank thee, Lord, that in Thy Mercy... *Cruz kicks him in the head*

Cruz: Ha!! Come on then!!

Trump: What?

Cruz: Have at you!

Trump: You are indeed brave, Cruz, but the fight is mine.

Cruz: Oh... Had enough, eh?

Trump: Look you stupid bastard, you've got no arms left!

Cruz: Yes I have!

Trump: Look!!!

Cruz: Just a flesh wound!

*Cruz continues to kick Trump without arms*

Trump: Look, stop that!

Cruz: Chicken!

Trump: I'll have your leg! Right! You've now lost the North-East!

Cruz: Right! I'll do you for that!!

Trump: You'll what?!?

Cruz: Come here!

Trump: What are you gonna do? Bleed on me?

Cruz: I'M INVINCIBLE!!!

Trump: You're a looney.

Cruz: The Black Knight ALWAYS Triumphs! Have at you!!

*Trump takes Indiana in Curb-Stomp*

Cruz: Alright, we'll call it a draw.

Trump: Come, Patsy.

Cruz: Oh, I see! Running away, eh? You yellow bastard! Come back here and take what's coming to you! I'll bite your legs off!

Where Shrillary is getting her votes is anyone's guess. Boiling cauldron? If there's a sudden drop in the eye-of-newt supply, then we'll know.

But ecchhkkk, I can't even look at Cruz. A couple weeks ago I had a dream where a latina friend Rosie got sick and asked me to clean a house for her. So I show up to clean, and lo and behold it's Ted Cruz's house. For some reason we knew each other. He was all, hey baby, let's get it on. I said, "I'm just here to clean the house." The next thing I knew we were in an attic bedroom getting it on--with a bunch of people downstairs. It was so disturbing! eck! I can't even look at him!

The best part is the clarity. Trump over 50%. Cruz relegated to under 1/3.

If Trump won marginally, Cruz and crew could keep going with some hints, but now it looks futile. And looks worse as Cruz is running out of desperate dirty tricks. He can co-opt delegates but it won't get past the first ballot. He can announce a cabinet that is not to be. He can go full Beck (He's halfway there) and try to call down fire from heaven but will be as effective as the priests of Baal v.s. Elijah

Now that Obama has bequethed us an Imperial Presidency, President Trump should use every rationale in the book to withhold funding for out-of-control agencies like the DOE and EPA, e.g...
- the huge government deficit will bankrupt the country, so for the greater good funds are being withheld
- these agencies are unConstitutional because the Congress has ceded responsibility for writing laws
- etc., etc.

A creative man can come up with creative solutions, and Trump is definitely one to think outside the box.

We need a plan B because this election is critical. 2020 will be too late.

If Hillary wins, the next election will have fewer nationalists among the electorate. That is, unless you include Mexican nationalists.

I'm not saying a Cruz administration would be great, but it might buy us more time.

Yeah, the more ardent pro-Cruz "Never Trump" folks are suicidal moderates indirectly benefiting Hillary, but the man himself is a valuable ally, even if you want him far away from the presidency.

They are all globalists. The only difference on any issue is the (R) fights a valiant but deliberately unsuccessful rearguard action, while the (D) leads the charge. Either way, the same outcome.

I don't think we're voting our way out of this. I do think that getting the right people in state and local offices can help some of us achieve softer landings. Trump has done a lot to make that possible.

But, holy cow, she nearly totally lost it, on the edge of tears that this isn't an establishment Republican Party candidate; that she doesn't know what happens to the party. And she's a democrat, right?

Blogger Jourdan May 03, 2016 9:09 PM

OF COURSE Maddow is upset.

Her side has been playing the Washington Generals (aka the Republican Party) for so long that someone actually standing up and saying, loudly, that, no, you're wrong and we are going to stop you and reverse your policies seems illegal, wrong and deeply offensive to the natural order of things.

It's not, it's just normal politics, but Democrats have been rolling over the hapless Republicans (Dick Armey? Speaker Boner? Grinin' Mitch McConnell? Rush Limbaugh? Fox News?) for so long they even became convinced that a few middle-class people dressed up in Boston Tea Party outfits and objecting mildly to insane government spending was the second coming of the German National Socialist Worker's Party.

Anonymous Andrew E. May 03, 2016 9:09 PM

Um, Cruz Sr. said that you had to vote for Cruz if you're one the side of God and if you don't (ie. if you vote Trump) then you are siding with the forces of evil. Trump was shown the video of this and asked to comment. So Trump brings up a story in a Florida paper (not just NE) that asks questions about what Cruz Sr. was doing, if anything, in Cuba back in the day. Suddenly this becomes Trump accusing Cruz Sr. of complicity in the JFK assassination. Whatever. GO Trump!

Blogger SciVo May 03, 2016 9:09 PM

Not that it matters now, but I called it twice over -- both Trump outperforming his polls, and him getting at least 45 delegates (out of 57).

To be fair, I did not actually expect a sweep, which is what it's shaping up to be (still no results from CD7). But I put myself out there with predictions because a mental model without predictive power is bullshit. You might as well attribute results to Odin's will or Loki's mischief if you can only explain the past.

Blogger Lovekraft May 03, 2016 9:52 PM

Here are the major challenges to Trump enacting his vision:

1. Muslim, hard-core leftists who will block anything he does no matter what

2. entrenched legalistic bureaucracies that prefer status quo

3. the ever-present media

4. his own side messing up

Trump has a lot of work to do if he is even going to make a dent in the colossal problems facing the United States.

He could just try and do the opposite of No-Borders Barack but this isn't his style. And true Americans are tired of the sly political class.

Watch for where Trump sets his sights. We should expect to see clarity in his direction instead of what the globalist elite permit the masses to consider.

@140 - Conservatives have not had anyone to vote for because, as has been stated many times on this site, has failed to conserve anything. The movement is basically dead and buried. Conservatism couldn't even beat the RINOs. A nationalist just beat the crap out of the RINO establishment which I never thought I would get to see in my lifetime.

You can help defeat the Commies (D), and the RINOs by voting Trump or you can choose not to vote. I don't think it matters this time around because I already hear the rumblings of a Reaganesque landslide coming. Trump is going to mop the floor with Hillary or Bernie if that somehow comes to pass.
