VFM hunt

Here we go again. This isn't the SJW's first attack review either. You know the drill. Let's see if anyone can track down this "Nome D. Gerr". If we do, we will contact his employer, as we have done before when we've caught an attack reviewer in action. How many scalps will this guy make, is it four or five now?

sad puppies find g-d

this is deja vu all over again, an offense to enjoyable fiction. reading this will contract your mind. should history repeat, the sad dawgs, with contempt for fans and bitter worship of hard core ballot rigging, will manipulate this opus died onto the slates of multiple nebula awards. as before, the mad puppies will finish 6 out of 5 on all ballots, losing to all other nominees and finishing behind write in votes for "not again". this injection of organized religion and tea bagger nuttery into SF&F is a perversion and a waste of bytes.

SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down the Thought Police
KINDLE: CLEAN YOUR SEARCH ALGORITHMS

this is a scree of vindictiveness and self promotion. Somehow, probably in a manner akin to the almost success in awarding himself a people's s/f trophy, this time waster appears in too many (and too many completely unrelated) categories of kindle recommendations. for example, just today, this book was pimped to me three times: in Moro history, in adaptionics and in economics. Motivated by apparent personal animosity, this book is gaming kindle.
Having gamed the 2014 Hugo Awards, now I'm gaming Kindle. Seriously?

Anyhow, just to make it perfectly clear, if you leave an attack review on any Castalia House book, I will unleash the Vile Faceless Minions and send them after you. If you have been insufficiently careful, if you have slipped up even once somewhere, we will doxx you, we will contact your employer, and we may even send a log of your activities to your family members. In extreme cases where your local law has observably been violated, I will personally contact the police; you will not be the first, the second, or even the third individual to be subjected to a police interrogation as a result of attacking us.

VFM, check your emails this weekend. It's operation time. This will only require 20 of you, so if you don't get one, don't be surprised.

Don't think that the SJWs are not organizing against us as well. They are doing their level best to identify all of those against whom they intend to run their usual game of discredit, disemploy, and destroy. From Mediated Feminisms: Activism and Resistance to Gender and Sexual Violence in the Digital Age at UCL Institute of Education.

Notice who they have right in the center sweet spot. Twice. Translaton: I'm not a PUA, an MGTOW, an MRA, or a TradCon, so she has no idea where to put me. And their total inability to make any sense of us, judging by their interpretive babble, suggests that the more open this culture warfare becomes, the more people are forced to choose sides, the more it will be to our advantage. And this is good, because Western civilization cannot survive social justice convergence.

I read the first page of that waste of bytes, typical nonsense from the vagina privileged making "rape" into politics, the Red Army for the SJW set. Its no wonder that feminazis like this always allude to raping conservative women, all the fault of feminists like them.

Women and high estrogen neckbeards sometimes excell at guerilla warfare. Consider the historical case of Queen Boudicca of the icenni tribe in Britain 2000 years ago.. She killed a lot of Romans, burned a city or 2 to the ground, and ambushed and
slaughtered a Roman legion. Then Seutonius and Legio IVX, though outnumbered 20 to one, kicked her ass in a set piece battle. Make them fight you in the open and use the rules of warfare to kick their asses. And take no prisoners.

I didn't know all of these; nice to find more resources without any effort.

Why is Thunderf00t up there? He's anti-stupid and doesn't belong in any of those three categories. MRA, maybe, if you stretched it a lot, but he's just against stupid feminazis.

Blogger dh May 06, 2016 9:51 AM

The photo he uses is an obscure Northwestern hunter/trapper from the mid-19th century named Seth Kinman.

In 2002, he left a review, which I think is legit, of a kids toy. I would suspect that was left as his true persona, and in 2002 he was a 10-13 year old boy. Then fast forward 11 years, and he's reviewing gold pieces and obscure books. 2012-2013 puts him smack dab into college age years. In 2012 and in 2014 he reviews things (gold, Constitutional type topics) that indicates he may have been exposed to conservative talk radio or conspiracy theories, maybe for the first time (with a negative reaction).

His first review of a Vox work was Oct. 29, 2015, right around the time he reviewed another book by author Michael Duncan.

I would not be surprised if the review was under a different account name/nickname (the one from 2002, for the toy), which be later changed when he reactivated or started using his Amazon account again. If there is an archived copy of the 2002 review page around anywhere, it may have more information that is useful.

Blogger Ahazuerus May 06, 2016 10:08 AM

Mussorgsky:

You've seen how many today use the word "fascist" to mean nothing more than "anything I don't like" ?

Well, this is the same thing. It doesn't matter at all what Thunderf00t really IS. Since these feminists don't like MRA or PUA or MGTOW, if he's anti-feminazis then he must be at least one of those things.

Lazy sloppy thinking by our enemies is one of their primary characteristics (or they wouldn't be what they are), and hence one of our major advantages over them.

Mr. Gerr follows William Kittredge, a fairly obscure US-Western author who writes in that style and within those themes. Mr. Kittredge is a professor emeritus and potentially an English teacher at University of Montana. The evidence suggests that Mr. Gerr attended college there or was exposed to US-Western literature, perhaps in the 2010-2014 timeframe, based on his age estimate from my above post.

Some of the VFM may not know that the cry of "Havoc!" was used to signal a general destructive mayhem; burn, kill, and pillage. Leave nothing standing, leave nothing growing, leave none alive.

Hence Shakespeare's famous usage:

Oddly enough that story is set in a small-town in Montana (they are all small), and so it seems the co-incidences here are stacking up that Mr. Gerr is somehow tied to Montana or the US-West.

In another review, he posts a link to a local Colorado news source about the author.

Vox these wimminz are insane. But notice she managed to con the UK government out of some $150,000 to "fund" her "studies."

Nice work if you can get it.

I'm reading SJWs Always Lie and am struck how it parallels my own experience fighting the feminist/LGBs in the early 1990s, pre-Internet, at a major public research university. We had an off-campus newspaper and made an international name for ourselves about the same time Desouza infiltrated The Dartmouth Review. I was surprised to learn, much later, they used academic accounts on USENET to coordinate their attacks, which featured physical vandalism, assault, false criminal charges, and of course professorial vindictiveness against staffers. They've had twenty five years to perfect their techniques!

We defeated them, using a strategy similar to your description of gamergate. The key to success was, what today is called ZFG. Drives them nuts and forces gross overreactions.

SJW Always Lie could be our master game plan, an After the Ball for us, if you will. Any chance of reworking it for a broader audience of activists? The sf/f/gamer jargon was hard to follow as an outsider.

Well, maybe not exactly. Way I understand it, so long as men (unfortunately) continue to exist, they must be made to submit to the Matriarchy, and whatever uses She may have for them. A declaration of independence, even if it causes no harm to the Sisterhood, is thus an affront to the Shegemony, and must be quashed.

@ Stilicho: Nate, dh, those aren't venn diagrams, they are projections of her feelz.

I think you're right. At first I just thought she was stupid, but while I can't rule that out, your hypothesis makes sense.

Anyone should be able to tell that if you think everyone is MGTOW except for anti-PUAs, then maybe you don't understand what MGTOW are.

But if it's a chart of her feelz, then as a rejection of feminism, the entire manosphere feels to her like a rejection of women, since feminism and women feel the same to her. So we're all MGTOW now!

Never mind that the PUA attitude toward MGTOW ranges from indifference through bafflement to pity and contempt. The fact of the matter is the facts don't matter.

This hypothesis is confirmed by the lack of female anti-feminists on the diagram. They feel to her like a contradiction in terms, so she couldn't handle the cognitive dissonance long enough to document them.

"Well, if I ever ran for office, I’d do better as a Democrat than as a Republican–and that’s not because I’d be more liberal, because I’m conservative. But the working guy would elect me. He likes me. When I walk down the street, those cabbies start yelling out their windows. "

Now of course the Democrats have totally alienated and pissed on the White working class, and become a coalition of various fringe freaks. So 26 years down the road, it makes more sense for Trump to run as a Republican.

Trump being very real on an issue that is actually vastly unimportant, I mean what other answer can you give. But honest answers in this case would prevent one from saving the Bible-thumping rube element of the Republican party from economic implosion

Anyway Carver passed and last I heard Kittredge and some others settled in Montana. Fat teaching gigs I always assumed, but dunno.

There's some great history in the brewing of Pale Ales. When the Brits had first colonized India, they found that their standard brews would go skunky while in transport to the colony. Their solution was to make the brew so unpalitable that opportunistic bacteria wouldn't want to consume it. The cheapest solution was an excess of hoppes.

Imperial, when applied to beers means "completely undrinkable".

Making an IPA at 9% is simply an admission by the brewer that he has no standards whatsoever. I've made a 9% Porter, but its only known uses are to anaesthetize you for family gatherings, and putting Vikings and Irish to sleep prior to an early morning raid. Hessians wouldn't touch it.

Captain Capitalism talks about MGTOWs as having two distinct subclasses:

1. The true MGTOW, who go their own way and don't give a damn. Usually the only way to know if these guys are MGTOW is to ask them why they don't have a girlfriend right now (and even then most of them will shrug it off). They're happy people and genuinely don't give a damn.

2. Virgin-TOWs, who are involuntarily celibate and very bitter about it. These are the loud, obnoxious types that folks like Nate strongly oppose. If you see a guy who claims to be MGTOW railing about women, you're almost certainly looking at a Virgin-TOW.

I have nothing but respect for the true MGTOWs (the Omegas by choice), but the others...

"Done right..." You know, if breweries actually held to that it'd be fine.
Theoretically a pale beer has a stronger profile because the malt has less toasting and very few oligosaccharides or other non-fermentables. That makes the malt blander and less sweet, so the hops are more obvious. Instead, Pale Ales have become what you make when you want to cover up the foul taste of your incompetently made beer, or you want to extract every last possible gram of alcohol out of too little malt. Particularly NWPAs are just nasty.

SJWs never respect their enemies. It's an aspect of their foolishness. They use feigned respect as a carrot to manipulate people, but it's as fake as their pearl clutching. But true respect for an enemy? No way, not even for one that so soundly thrashes them. They hold everybody that deviates from the day's narrative or sensitivities in such contempt that they are incapable of understanding their enemy, and unable to see the tidal wave heading straight at them.

Blogger Slamdunk May 07, 2016 1:00 AM

After digging on the individual Nome D. Gerr, I don't have a smoking gun, but circumstantial evidence has me suspecting a blogger using the name "Charles Akins." My case:

-Writes book reviews and discusses them on Twitter (thatakinsboy) & his blog. Maybe enjoys confrontation? Tweet from 5/22/15: "These Amazonians just can't get enough of me. I am filled with spears."

-Frequently mentions reading sci-fi, gaming, and consuming alcohol on his blog: (dyverscampaign.blogspot.com)

-Bernie Sanders supporter (tweets on 3/10/16 & 3/17)--consistent with Gerr's review of the New Founders.

-Retweets and talks with John Scalzi (ex. blogpost: 4/13/2015); tweets support for John regarding Sad Puppies and Hugo Awards (4/6/2015)

-Tweets with Brianna Wu about Brianna's pics (2/17/15)

-Blogs about being an ardent liberal on 4/14/2015

Finally and my strongest piece: the unique image of Seth Kinman used by Gerr only returns 33 or so unique hits via a search engine. Of those, 4 or so are linked to social media accounts--interestingly, two are science fiction authors. One author is a republican government worker in AZ (the other connections to Gerr do not seem as strong with him), but the second author is Akins. Akins uses this exact image (well, not cropped with shading) for a blog post on 10/12/15.

Though words hold clues, sometimes it is a user's tendency to use an identifier image more than once that provides the best evidence for a potential connection.

If I am way off on this guy or missed something else that strengthens this argument, I'll take my medicine.

Especially their Ale. Known in my high school years as "Green Death" because it was 8%, came in a green bottle and was guaran-damn-teed to make you sick. Puking your guts out in a ditch sick. Proof that Nords and Indians will drink anything.

You'll be glad to know that was acquired by Miller-Coors when they bought the old Olympia brewery brands from Pabst. It is now brewed in Irving Texas, it's natural home

On the other hand, Rainier had great commercials. I saw this one one of the few times it ran, on the Robert O. Smith late-nite creature feature on channel 13

#173, I don't think so. Read the blog. Very different style and interests. Defends reading outside the SJW canon.

Hop Valley makes nothing but crap. You, sir deserve that crap.

Imperial, when applied to beers means "completely undrinkable".

You might as well tell me you drink Murphy's Irish Whiskey.

If you find Imperials undrinkable, then you are a wimp, and you should consider turning in your drinker card. There is a qualitative difference between the Pyramid Outburst, which is really more for the ABV/$ after drinking something else so that flavor doesn't matter, and Alpha Centauri which actually tastes great in its own right.

There are two ways to tell that an Imperial IPA brewer is just going for alcohol, damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead. One is if they don't bother tweaking the hop balance for flavor, and the other is if it's overly sweet because they loaded it up with too much carbs for the yeast to convert. I actually find the latter more objectionable, because it is both lazier and tastes worse to me. I'd rather have an Outburst.

Not only that, but the climate. I liked Shiner Bock when I was in Texas, then oddly enough found it somewhere else and tried it, and it wasn't anything like I remembered. It needs to be cold and sweating with heat and humidity and crickets and a distinct tang of ozone.

Hmmm. Think there might be a spelling error there. Shouldn't that be "Medicated"?

Otherwise, wouldn't this be ...

Nice; looking at that picture, it seems I had missed a few potentially good resources.

Reminds me of the fundies complaining about tv shows they don't like... by far the best way to identify the ones that might be worth watching.

@ Tom #178: Point taken, but I believe that "defends reading outside of the SJW canon" is consistent with Gerr's posted reviews. Gerr does not wave the SJW flag with his Amazon posts--instead he characterizes himself as a liberal and attacks with variety on books ranging from "Killing Jesus" to "A People's History of the US" to "Article V."

Interestingly enough with the latter book, Article V is described as a mystery. In the post dated 11/23/2015 (dyverscampaign.blogspot.com), Akins posits how contemporary liberals have gone astray by lecturing people on what books to read. He describes the diversity of his reading and boasts his of penchant for staying up late, drinking whiskey and reading murder mysteries--perhaps like Article V. In addition, this could explain why some of Gerr's reviews are incoherent: the product of late night "drunk reviewing."

Further in his blog, Akins reiterates similar arguments regarding his distaste for the reading police on 1/11/2016 and writes of his affections for Samuel Delany.

In sum, I don't discount him as Gerr just because he is not of the "cookie cutter" SJW. Instead, I think the literate style of the blog, his established Twitter connections to those who oppose VD, along with the author's social, philosophical, and political leanings, add more circumstantial evidence to the mix.

Congratulations on that double center placement VD!
