Donald Trump on #Brexit

Statement Regarding British Referendum on E.U. Membership

The people of the United Kingdom have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples. They have declared their independence from the European Union, and have voted to reassert control over their own politics, borders and economy. A Trump Administration pledges to strengthen our ties with a free and independent Britain, deepening our bonds in commerce, culture and mutual defense. The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.

Come November, the American people will have the chance to re-declare their independence. Americans will have a chance to vote for trade, immigration and foreign policies that put our citizens first. They will have the chance to reject today’s rule by the global elite, and to embrace real change that delivers a government of, by and for the people. I hope America is watching, it will soon be time to believe in America again.

Let #Brexit be the beginning. Let the winds of nationalism rise around the world and sweep the New Babel of our globalist would-be rulers into the dust bin of history where it belongs.

Let no-one forget Angela Merkel and Islam just destroyed the Union. It's that simple.

You cannot have a European Union of Non Europeans. Sharia, Muhammad, and Islamic submission cannot be shoved downs people throats. Cultures are not all equal. Ignorance is not bliss.

Also I should point out...
1. Another blow to the wrongful prosecution of the cops in Baltimore.
2. Gun control sit-in fails embarrassingly in DC.
3. SCOTUS is deadlocked meaning that Obama amnesty is denied.
4. Brexit just put a bullet in the brain of the shambling corpse that was the EU.

This has been a GREAT fucking day indeed.

Blogger Anchorman June 24, 2016 8:23 AM

At a historic moment, where are the two candidates?

Hillary was against it and sits at home.

Trump celebrates it and is on location (albeit Scotland).

And this:

The whole world is more peaceful and stable when our two countries – and our two peoples – are united together, as they will be under a Trump Administration.

The images on TV will be Trump surrounded by Brits, celebrating a vote against the status quo. Vibrant. Exhilarating. Change. Respect the will of the people.

And Hillary/Obama reaction shots will be in seats of power and paneled rooms. Sterile. Artificial. Insulated from the people.

Blogger Nate June 24, 2016 8:24 AM

If Trump wins, his inauguration speech should include: "The previous administration spent years alienating our friends and natural allies around the world. I plan on mending fences, starting with our closest cousins in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. For years, a bust of Winston Churchill stood in a place of honor in the White House until it was abruptly and rudely returned. I hope I speak for all Americans when I say we regret that appalling lapse in manners and, if it please Your Majesty, we'd very much like to have Sir Winston back."

@5 The people of the American South have exercised the sacred right of all free peoples.

Certainly would be interesting to have a Brexit-style referendum in the southern states. The results would be disappointing though - Atlanta would sink Georgia; South Carolina elected Cucksenator supreme Lindsay Graham and anti-Stars and Bars dot-not-feather Nikki Haley. Louisiana? North Carolina? Florida? Good luck with that.

We will find that the UK is able to negotiate free trade agreements with Europe and things economically will be the same and perhaps even better... without the social burden of being in the EU.

In the end.. this will (could) lead Europe to the place where they need to be .. a common free trade market (EEC) but without all the social issues (immigration, open borders etc) --- I think even the Germans are beginning to see the down side of what they have created.. they may have wanted the open trade but when they have to start spending their gold to bail out Greece etc, and absorbing millions of refugees ... its not so glossy.

As for Trump -- if he could learn to tame his ego, surround himself with some really smart people, and act just a little bit more presidential and less like PT Barnum, he could win this... it his to lose...

No, they cannot hire people in the UK because they're not willing to pay market wages. Your comment just demonstrates that much of the support for the EU comes from those who want cheap labour that will undercut the British.

And that supply of cheap labour taking jobs from the British is one of the main reasons that most of the country voted to leave.

He seems to have an uncanny ability to read the political landscape well before, and far better than, his political opponents. Opponents who he consistently leaves looking inept, flat footed and out of touch.

Associating his Presidential campaign with our struggle to free ourselves from dictatorial elitism, was a political master stroke from a political grand master giving a political master class.

Yeah, they tried to make the same argument here in the states. If you end illegal immigration and if fruit and vegetable growers had to hire Americans, it'd be so expensive, etc. etc.

Heritage did a study where they ran some actual numbers and found that if vegetable growers had to hire Americans at American wages instead of illegal aliens at a fraction of the wage, it would only increase the price of a head of lettuce by something like $0.03. Well worth the social benefit of not having millions of illegals.

I suspect that the fearmongering in Britain from fruit growers it probably in the same vein.

I can tell you what that somehow was. Not to sound like a broken-record libertarian, but it was all allegedly well-intentioned government meddling in business which raised the cost of legally hiring a worker. Everything from minimum wages to state support for union thugs to safety regs to you name it raises the price.

But an illegal alien cannot complain to the cops or the Better Business Bureau, so the black market wages fall to their natural, uninflated rates.

Exactly.

So they remain where all the hard work has already been done and they can enjoy the results of what better men accomplished while criticizing them for doing what was necessary to make it happen.

betfair had remain at 86%. how could they have gotten it so wrong?

Odds are based on the money on each side. Bookies are like market makers in the stock market. A small number of people made very large bets on Remain last week. It is they who were wrong, assuming they planned on making money on the bets. They may have also been trying to swing sentiment, since the betting was seen as an indication of how the vote would turn out. Before the vote, the head of Ladbrokes, one of the betting sites, admitted he would bet on Leave to win based on the data, which showed the vast majority of bets for Leave, but in small amounts. He knew something was off.

An interesting aside is how long this insurgency has been brewing in the West. I recently reread "From Household to Nation", Pat Buchanan was making Trumpian arguments as far back as 1995, if not a bit before.

So perhaps we need to buckle down to the real work, which is doing the "long march through the institutions" and ejecting SJW's, Progressives, Liberals and all other manner of authoritarian leftists. The first target and lowest hanging fruit is actually civic governance at the town hall level, and getting elected to the boards of directors of the multitude of institutions and organizations that shape the political, social and economic spaces. From there we can start throttling the money supply to the vast and out of control bureaucracies that are the arms of power for the various "elites" who presume to run our lives.

It has been 20+ years since From Household to Nation first articulated many of the themes of todays Nationalist "Alt Right", and I suspect that it will take another 20 years to clean house and repair all the damage these squatters have done to our social, economic and political institutions. Make them count!

The SNP manifesto for May's Holyrood elections said the Scottish Parliament should have the right to hold another referendum if there was a "significant and material change" in the circumstances that prevailed at the time of the 2014 referendum, such as Scotland being taken out of the EU against its will.

At a news conference in Edinburgh, Ms Sturgeon said: "It is, therefore, a statement of the obvious that a second referendum must be on the table, and it is on the table."

Sure it's an excuse but it's an excuse the SNP has been looking for.

Interesting strategic problem. If Scotland stays in the EU but leaves the UK that means for first time in a very long time, the UK...fuck it... England will be sharing a land border with a foreign power.

The whole "Jobs Americans/Britons/Your Choice Here Won't Do" argument is nonsense. Employers are looking for cheap labor, and will try to import it if it'll save money.

The sad part being that it's arguably MORE expensive. Every imported cheap laborer is a citizen who has no job...and in a modern welfare state, is collecting welfares. The taxpayers would almost certainly be financially better off to ship the imported "cheap" labor home and put their welfare class to work at wages equal to the what the import labor was making PLUS the welfare. If nothing else, it'll save on Government overhead, which is considerable.

@ 36 and 57 - For what it's worth the BBC have a quote from someone in the fruit growing industry saying it could be game over for a lot of producers now. They simply cannot hire people from the UK for the manual jobs required because the attitude of people here is they don't want that sort of work.

If you MUST be an idiot, try to at least keep up.
Nigel Farage made literally billions in the financial markets, and decided to dedicate that money to freeing Britain from the EU monster, founded and has run the UKIP since the beginning, and has faced considerable heat, and no little personal physical danger, pursuing that goal. Then they passed laws to "protect" them. There was a limit on the hours per day and no more than 60 hours a week. They stopped hiring teenagers. Same sort of thing with the kids that picked strawberries.

Make failure comfortable enough, with a well-padded "safety net," and people will choose to not work, they'll choose to be failure by any historical standard. Make failure to work your hardest uncomfortable, and a lot more people will get with the program, and importing cheap unskilled labor will not be necessary.

It will be hard, but I expect the debt to be repudiated, and otherwise the monetary and economic systems to be restored to proper order. I wonder if Trump realizes the full state of the malarial swamp he wishes to develop.

Obama's hope was in the system, the progressives, the government.

Trump's hope is in the American People themselves. (Though his Nationalism is not based on race, though not on proposition either, but a "you are with us or against us"). "I'm with You". Exactly.

The EU was our defense welfare case. With the UK out, it makes it far easier to break ties, dump NATO, and insure our culture and interests are respected. The UK and USA are far more culturally compatible, especially a post EU UK and a post-globalist USA.

I wouldn't put it past Yahoo or Google to engage in political shenanigans, but that's kinda how spam filtering works. One of the common indicators of spam is that the same message, or almost identical messages, are being sent to a large number of people at the same time. So when the same message comes in to thousands of Yahoo email addresses, it's very likely to go to their spam folders.

Which doesn't mean they couldn't have added an extra rule to raise the spam scores on anything coming from Trump's domains.

True. What strikes me as particularly odd is the fact that until June 22, I was receiving all of Trump's emails just fine. Coincidentally, June 22 happens to be the day he started asking for donations. Maybe the wording of the email triggered it, or maybe it's something more sinister.

Muslims voted overwhelmingly to stay (Table 15). Private sector workers voted overwhelmingly to leave (Table 18). By race only among whites did a majority vote to leave (Table 14). One surprising result is that women were just as likely to vote leave as men -- 52 percent of both men and women voted for leave (Table 7).
