Milo permanently banned from Twitter

After writing the review of Ghostbusters to which I linked the other day, Milo ended up getting into it on Twitter with actress Leslie Jones, who he eventually referred to as "a black dude". It was funny, of course, because Miss Jones is a large, unattractive black woman who looks more manly than Michelle Obama.

After Leslie Jones - @lesdogg on Twitter - tried to hit back at him and other critics of the movie, she got piled on by the Alt Right and others; her cries of "racism, racism" were met, in the Alt Right's usual wont, by pictures of bananas, gorillas, and other rhetorical memes, which caused Miss Jones to double down on crying victim.

So, Twitter perma-banned Milo on the grounds of "incitement to harassment", even though Leslie Jones is the only individual who actually engaged in any incitement, as can be seen in this pair of tweets.

Exposing I hope y'all go after them like they going after me

bitch I want to tell you about your self but I'm gonna let everybody else do it I'm gonna retweet your hate!! Get her!!
Even the New York Times is on it, in its inimitably dishonest way. Twitter Bars Milo Yiannopoulos Over Torrent of Abusive Comments.

It appears the next task after Big Fork launches is an obvious one. No worries, it's been part of the plan from the beginning.

Can't wait for more news on Big Fork and the like! If there's any web dev work, I'd be down to pitch in!

Also, Milo's post ban speech at RNC is definitely worth checking out!

Yesterday on the bottom of my Bing (dumped Google search engine) bar the list of news stories read "Ghostbusters star faces racism". Full out lies.

The tag should have read, in a sane world, "Hollywood leftist receives criticism and cries to big daddy Censor."

Blogger Shimshon July 20, 2016 5:51 AM

Speaking of Ghostbusters, Steve Sailer is somewhat more charitable in his scathing review. He says the new movie has more laughs.

Also looking forward to the Big Fork launch.

It was just a matter of time before Milo got banned. I am sure Cernovich and Vox are on a to-be-banned list as well. Hopefully an alternative will present itself by then.

If I were on twitter I think I would photoshop a pic of Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) on the left and Patty (Leslie Jones) on the right both in full ghostbusters outfits. On top Left: "This is a Ghostbuster" on top right: "This is a n* word" Any questions? I might just make a twitter account to see if I can get perma-band from it. Sounds like a worthy goal.

Blogger SteelPalm July 20, 2016 6:16 AM

@7 Do it and link here, so we can laugh at it.

The New York Slime article was impressively brazen in its lies, even by their rotten standards.

Also, it's funny that such a big, ugly, "strong, independent woman" reacts like such a delicate flower to Internet mockery. Funnier than all her lines in the movie and stand-up career put together.

Anonymous JAG July 20, 2016 6:24 AM

"lesdogg" is quite a fitting self labeling by an ugly leftist dyke.

Blogger residentMoron July 20, 2016 6:26 AM

Do we have a plan in the interim?

Is it better to plow on until we're all banned, or quit en masse?

I quit FB over its censorious nannying bullshit, leaving the petting zoo for the wild west of twitter, only to find the petting zoo following me.

Meh.

Blogger Al From Bay Shore July 20, 2016 6:27 AM

I am anxiously awaiting this! Additionally, it must be hard for an unattractive Black woman to be assailed by a gay man. The sense of betrayal must sting like one of those giant wasps from Japan.

The value of Twitter is that it's the best place to hit libs and cucks with rhetoric. Blogs and most other platforms are ideologically segregated.

"So when she gets heckled, does she just cry and complain to the management?"

I imagine she jumps up and down, arms flaying in unison, while making guttural animal noises and chanting "Bitches be racist! Bitches be racist!"

She then drowns her tears by partaking in a giant bowl of banana pudding with a generous helping of watermelon tarts.

Before you folks start whining about how "conservatives are being censored!!1!!11!", you should know that:
1. Milo's ban is more than well earned, his behavior was unforgivable no matter how you looks at it
2. Twitter's policing goes all ways, no matter the politics or gender or whatever. For example, some time ago they permanently suspended a large number of ISIS-related accounts http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/125000-isis-linked-accounts-suspended-by-twitter-a6857371.html

Lesson here is a simple one folks: just don't act like malicious, dumb trolls.

2. Twitter's policing goes all ways,

1. You're lying. He didn't do anything except call her "a black dude". He was banned for the actions of others that he did not incite.

2. No, it does not. There are two examples of Leslie Jones inciting others to harassment and she was not banned.

I know Matthew would love to see you switch to something else. I know of two guys who moved long standing blogs from Blogger to WP, and they are better off for it.

First, I always back up my site. Second, I'm not even remotely concerned about being banned by Google. If they were interested in doing so, they would have done it long ago. Third, no one has ever been able to recreate this template properly in WordPress or in New Blogger. Fourth, in case it has escaped your attention, Castalia House is WordPress, so obviously I know exactly what the primary alternative has to offer.

But most importantly, why on Earth would I change anything when this is one of the most successful personal blogs on the Internet and is growing steadily every month.

All of this, just to try and prop up an incompetent Narrative Movie.

I was bitching about that yesterday.

What I really find most offensive about the Ghostbusters is not the feminism, (don't get me wrong, I do loath the feminist rot that has infested it). But the incompetence of the business model.

There was money to be made here and an all girl cast could have played into that. True you would have needed at least ONE sexually attractive Ghostbuster instead of this cavalcade of beautiful in a different way women, plus one lesbian who was clearly a lesbian. However, there was no attempt whatsoever to entice the preexisting core audience.

And forgive me for stating the fucking obvious but the preexisting audience is the only reason there is to revive the Ghostbusters plate in the first damn place.

It was never going to be easy, there was always going to be a lot of potential nerd rage that was going to have to be carefully negotiated. But the reward is a big hit and new franchise for a company that is desperate for one.

The sad thing is that according to the Red Letter Media guys, Leslie Jones is only decent thing in the whole movie.

To show that Twitter is even-handed in dealing with leftist trolls/inciters the way they are with MIlo you bring up...Twitter banning ISIS accounts?

Any right-winger who has spent a day on the platform, and watched as leftists make death threats against Trump and other notable figures, cheer the mass murder of cops, etc. knows what a pathetic liar you are.

Who do you think you are fooling?

Anonymous Stiggins July 20, 2016 7:18 AM

Thing is, Milo and his trollish followers did a major service to Sony's PR here. While attention was finally moving away from that narrative about misogynist movement against Ghostbusters reboot, and while people on all sides were ready to accept that movie is subpar and simply forget about the whole affair, Milo's twitter escapades brought the whole thing back so that media is again full on focused on the movie, that is on the whole "misogynist trolls campaigning" angle.
Man is a liability to his own side, and his actions are childish and unforgivable no matter from what angle one choses to approach them.

If what you are saying was anywhere near true, BLM and all of it's supporters would have been perma-banned long ago. They are blatantly advocating violence, anti-cop and anti-white messages.

To put it in perspective, the most traffic the erstwhile 'most popular blog in science fiction' has had in the last four years was 100,374 pageviews, on a day when a considerable amount of traffic was driven to it by an article in the Guardian. This was more than four times its normal daily traffic as its biggest ever average daily pageviews over the course of a month was 32,679 in May 2012.

Yesterday, VP+AG had 89,405 pageviews because it was Tuesday. There was no external boost of any kind, no big news or anything of the sort. The blogs are currently running at an average daily page rate of 76,670.

Leslie Jones and those like her represent the imposition of affirmative action onto "comedy." She's dykish, unattractive and female so the entertainment industry has been compelled to boost Jones far beyond her talent level due to their Social Justice Warrioring. That is the crux of the issue. She has 1 funny joke and that is the ongoing theme that she is a large, mannish, unattractive woman. It was funny the first time I saw it. Now her act is already tired and she doesn't know how to do anything else.

She has 1 funny joke and that is the ongoing theme that she is a large, mannish, unattractive woman.

When the joke merely is the vessel that delivers it, the shelf life is short.

It was funny the first time I saw it. Now her act is already tired and she doesn't know how to do anything else.

Again, the fart itself wears thin quickly.

Let's not forget how she got to where she is at now. SNL practically had a nervous break down on air 2 years ago when they realized they didn't have a single female black woman in their cast.

To be frank I didn't know the history and based my previous observation on some untalented dullard being shoved down my throat. This makes perfect sense.

In response they went out and hired 2-3 of them for the next season.

"Wanted: dykish, hideous black woman who can read jokes off a teleprompter." There probably was trepidation over the "read" part.

I seriously doubt the vetting involved more than 10 minutes of looking for any female black woman that had a comedy show and hiring them on the spot.

There probably was a diversity executive who had to sign off, but this would seem how it likely went down.

The SJWs can't, at least yet, make us buy and watch shit. Sony wishes that weren't the case.

Anonymous Electryon July 20, 2016 9:34 AM

Not sure what about the idea of "free speech" Milo supporters don't seem to get. The GOVERNMENT can't restrict or punish you for your speech. A private business (after all, isn't private business what conservatives love more than just about anything??) can do whatever the fuck they want. And yeah, that includes banning someone leading a racist, vindictive trolling campaign against an actress in a movie that some people, for whatever reason, view as either an attack on their childhood, or men's rights movement. The whole argument about "PC culture" simply comes down to the fact that assholes want to be able to be assholes without anyone else being able to call them out on it, and without any consequence.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan July 20, 2016 9:36 AM

Screaming "nigger" has worked so well, helped Milo didn't it. I'll bet I know the banana jokesters and gorilla picture posters fairly well and as Nate said Omegas, they are now back in their internet caves feeling all brave and good.

If internet "Muds and Kikes" rhetoric from the 1488ers was really effective we would be in utopia by now, every family intact with 2.5 fair haired children who spend their time studying physics so they could take part in the manned mission to Mars.

You actually came up with a better rhetorical response to these over grown children we are saddled with and that is "I don't care" or "We don't care", but I digress "muds and kikes" it is.

@29-Yes, they said hers was the best performance, but not because she was funny, which is odd for a comedian. It was because she's the only one that was believable as a person. She had some genuine, or relatively genuine, reactions instead of mugging for the camera or improvising to make the crew laugh at every opportunity. Still, her being part of the crew didn't make much sense.

@75

One of the Ilk made a great point about what your kind really think about Free Speech back a year or two ago, that I kept the quote just for this sort of occasion.

"I support Freedom of Speech, insofar as I'm against obviously using the government as a censor in a direct, instrumental way. However, absolutely everything else is fair game. If I dislike what you say or disagree with you, for whatever reason, I have no problem getting your ass fired, hounding you out of society, utterly shunning you and using every blessed bit of media and social power to destroy you in every way possible. Because supporting free speech has nothing to do with actually valuing dissent whatsoever. It's an arbitrary rule, some technicality and obstacle that I just have to find ways to circumvent, and by God, I've found those ways."

But let's not for a moment suggest they're opposed to free speech. They merely want to completely and utterly stamp out any and all dissent whatsoever - but so long as they don't directly use the government to do that, they're the pristine

In addition, it is absurd and dishonest to demand we 'respect a company's decision' when the left has quite literally made freedom of disassociation illegal. I am not interested in appeals to a dead horse. I'm even less interested when the appeals come from the murderer himself.

Blogger Phillip George July 20, 2016 9:46 AM

Here lies a contrived post about a legalistic technicality pertaining to free speech instead of acknowledgement of the principle that expression is protected from those who seek to destroy it for personal reasons. To deny freedom of thought capriciously is to court nature's wrath. He focuses on people wearing a GOVERNMENT badge instead of quasi-government authorities acting against a multitude of private interests like Twitter's Trust and Safety Council or any proxy by which an official GOVERNMENT could covertly effect a censorship it's too timid to enforce publicly.

Yes.

The problem arises when we hit the point where a handful of increasingly hazy (re: Google practically having their own room in the White House) corporate entities control all the media platforms. They can silence voices at will, and dissenters are reduced to shouting in the street.

But, this here is the solution we can do. Start alternatives. However I still have concerns. How do we fought the media that will inevitably pound the alternatives as hate sites, as a first order example.

Who gets converged next? The upper level networking companies? Allow a web site of a certain type on your hosting servers and, well, maybe they don't want to sell you that tier 3 pipe after all.

There are two big issues with starting a Twitter clone:
1. Business Model. Twitter has been losing money ever since it started. We'd need a different business model than Twitter has.
2. Differentiating Features. Ours can't merely be Twitter, it has to be better enough to get people to switch. We'd need new features that significantly improve it.

If we could solve for both of these, than Alt-Twitter could have a chance.

Those people who claim "private company" have missed the last 125 years of history in the United States and how, a private company, operating as a utility or a quasi-utility, when holding monopoly-like powers, can come under certain special provisions - e.g., I don't think Ma Bell got to decide if your phone conversation was too racy.

Whether he pushes the issue and whether he'd win - that's a separate issue - but, America's laws are built on precedents, and we have 125 years of companies, once big enough, or controlling of enough, they don't get to play the "little old mom and pop private business" card.

Blogger Markku July 20, 2016 1:14 PM

Yep, but more importantly, we aren't even talking about suing Twitter at this point. That is THEIR strategy, and they employ it against us constantly and without qualms. We are only talking about using our own money in response to this. That is a perfectly legitimate strategy even against a mom and pop company that has been extremely offensive to us.

Blogger Shimshon July 20, 2016 1:18 PM

@112 Twitter has nearly 4000 employees. All these SJW-converged social network companies have extremely high overhead and are ripe for knocking off, assuming competitors can stay light and nimble (along with sane policies and standards) and perhaps even launch with a few flagship names. Milo, perhaps, as one one example. Cernovich. And so forth.

That's the problem with Venture Capital. Once you take it, you have no choice but to grow Very, Very Big (in head count), with all the problems that entails.

Will ask this, though: any public details on Big Fork, or is that strictly between direct supporters within the CH group? Understand if you're keeping it in house for now, just genuinely curious as to what the platform is/does and open to lending support where I can.

Threats of violence are NOT protected under free speech, never have been. While illegal, online threats were not normally prosecuted, under the usual means/opportunity test of the likelihood of committing said crime. Means, motive, and opportunity. However, this isn't the 90s anymore. Since those halcyon internet days, there have been a number of cases where someone has threatened murder, and then gone on to commit said murder. Including a number of schoolyard mass-murders. So, online threats are now, by law, treated just like any other threat - making them prosecutable. And hey, look, unlike face-to-face speech, with internet threats, there is even an online record of the crime being committed...

Intimidation is also prosecutable - since it is a crime frequently used by such illustrious entities as the mafia and street gangs, it was made illegal long, long ago. The difficulty there is always proving the intimidation and its cost to the target, since such entities are always finding ways to intimidate without actually technically doing so under the rules of the law. Internet intimidators are not so careful, usually, but they are also normally strictly small time. But if you do enough of it to where it can be shown you have made a concerted effort to intimidate an individual or individuals and in so doing deprive them of some means, and are dumb enough to leave an internet paper trail leading to your door, then you get a subpoena.

Backing up blogger

Now, obviously if Blogger actually goes out of its way to delete your blog, you can't just automatically read the information back in. But it's all there in a format for which a moderately knowledgeable geek can write conversion functionality to some other blog format. My guess is that there are already programs for converting a blogger backup into a wordpress backup, and reading it in to a new Wordpress blog.

1. Milo "knows" black dude behavior.
