Damage control desperation

Even the UK media is going to almost unprecedented lengths to convince you not to believe the evidence of your lying eyes:
A person who was filmed in a video that has been seized upon by right-wing groups to suggest Hillary Clinton 'had a seizure' on camera has hit back at the outlandish claims. Lisa Lerer, a reporter covering Clinton's campaign for the Associated Press, was on hand for the latest moment conspiracy theorists have latched onto in an attempt to discredit the Democratic nominee.

In the video, which was shot on June 10 at a muffin shop in Washington DC, Lerer was one of the reporters who 'shouted' questions at Clinton about a meeting she had recently had with Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren. In Lerer's words, Clinton: 'perhaps eager to avoid answering or maybe just taken aback by our volume [she] responded with an exaggerated motion, shaking her head vigorously for a few seconds.'
Right. Look at Lerer's face. That is the face of someone reacting to seeing something go very wrong. Moreover, the suggested excuse doesn't explain why Hillary imitated the involuntary motion, then made an otherwise inexplicable comment about the chai. There are three obvious indicators besides the involuntary movement itself:
  1. The horrified reaction of Lerer.
  2. The immediate conscious imitation of the movement
  3. The comment about the chai, intended to excuse the involuntary movement.

Watch the video. There is no way that is a response with an exaggerated motion. But the media's attempt to cover up Hillary's observable health issues is even more feeble than this.
Hannity also referenced an old picture that was wrongly circulated by right-wing websites recently that showed the Democratic nominee slipping while walking up a flight of stairs. A host of anti-Clinton blogs and websites falsely presented the image as proof the 68-year-old candidate is in poor health.

However, the picture that they claimed to be new, was taken at the top of a staircase in South Carolina on February 24.

Right-wing blog American Mirror started its conspiracy-theorizing post by stating Clinton's health should be 'a major issue of the 2016 campaign'.

It then went on to wrongly say the photograph in question is, 'the latest evidence', to support its conspiracy - despite the picture being almost seven months old. The blog post was then shared by the Drudge Report, a more well-known right-wing website, along with the headline: 'Hillary conquers the stairs'.
What does "wrongly circulated" even mean? It doesn't matter whether the picture was taken in February or taken today, the woman is 68 years old, observably has something wrong with her, is known to have suffered a serious head injury, and can't even walk up the stairs without help.

The more the media attempts to play Narrative Police with regards to Hillary Clinton's health, the more it is obvious that they know there is something serious to hide. Ask yourself this question: why is the global media attempting to run interference for Hillary's health issues when a simple release of her medical records could easily and conclusively address them?

Icicle, I did not know that psychopathy was another term for antisocial personality disorder, nor that it was a synonym for sociopathy. It does not make sense to have lots of different terms that mean exactly the same thing without distinction, and psychopathy is also a personality trait in the dark triad, so I will do my best to forget what I have just learned (since it's anti-meaningful).

Can left-wing journalists, between their laughable lies, not do basic arithmetic anymore?

If the photograph is from February 24, that would make it almost six months old, NOT "almost seven months old".

As if we needed further reason to dismiss their follies.

Nara: ''Sadly, I think this will happen to. With the MSM complicit in defending her "right" to give them a miss.''

But what exactly does this mean for the polls and general election then?

The debates would be a great opportunity for Trump to even out any advantage Clinton has in the polls, even though two of the debates are allegedly supposed to take place during NFL matches as well, thus taking away from them potential additional attention by viewers in order to ensure some decent damage control is possible if (as most likely will happen) Clinton fails spectacularly in the debates.

Sort of (also I should have typed ASPD). You can be ASPD without it. Psy and soc are at the extreme end of ASPD.

What I find to be just as disturbing as Hillary’s spasms, is the adoring looks of the so-called impartial reporters. The one on the left does react negatively at first to the spasm but she then goes and joins the one on the right in giving the “I live you“ look to Hillary

I am old enough to remember the looks on the faces of girls reacting to the Beatles, it’s the same look.

A couple of things:
1) The media has covered for Presidential candidates health issues when they felt it fit their purposes. FDR & JFK come to mind as examples. So the media covering for Hillary would be no surprise.

2) The lack of medical records release now explain why Hillary is trying to play, "Look, squirrel" with the tax record release. If she can divert attention that way, she won't get asked about things she can't admit.

I'm not sure how it's going to be handled, but I don't expect there to be debates as we've known them in the past. Hillary simply isn't up to them, and everyone around her knows it.

If is fractional voting in November, Donald Trump could win a landslide by 10 to 1, and these e vote fraud programs could count his votes as .1% and Mrs. Clinton's at 2 votes for her every 1 and in the end she would win by that 5 million Obama margin, which is exactly what these CONDITIONING POLLS are programming your wee minds to accept, that Hillary Clinton will "win" this by a squeaker of 1%.

Getting back at least to the topic of the media, I found this Peggy Noonan quote (h/t Instapundit) utterly fascinating (emphasis added):

Affluence detaches, power adds distance to experience. I don’t have it fully right in my mind but something big is happening here with this division between the leaders and the led. It is very much a feature of our age. But it is odd that our elites have abandoned or are abandoning the idea that they belong to a country, that they have ties that bring responsibilities, that they should feel loyalty to their people or, at the very least, a grounded respect.

That frank admission! In writing, in public! If that isn't a CogDis tell, I don't know what is. Which just goes to show what a huge paradigm shift this is, if such a savvy operator is struggling to wrap her head around the fundamental societal toxicity of the transnational cosmopolitans.

Initially I thought that first part of the clip (which is what you see everywhere) was unfortunate because the person who put it together obviously looped it to make it seem much worse that it was. And that brings in a question of credibility.

But then when you see the actual full video (beginning at 10 secs.), you see that reality is actually much worse. She clearly tries to play it off with a second round of head jerks. So there is an involuntary portion followed by a voluntary portion. Clear as day.

Japan's ability to invade the West Coast was about the same a Germany's ability to invade England which was none. Even if Japan was not bogged down in Manchuria, and stretched thin over Korea, Indochina, Indonesia, and the Philippines, an invasion and occupation of the mainland United States would be suicide. The D-Day invasion, which was the largest amphibious invasion in history, landed 150,000 troops. When the Japanese invaded the Philippines on December 22, they only landed a force of 40,000 men. (It should be noted that the landings, which had no air cover, only succeeded because the (((FDR Regime))) ordered American planes and subs to leave the area and had MacArthur misplace his troops which outnumber the Japanese invaders.) Any invasion force the Japanese could field would have been wiped out by California deer hunters alone. But all this is academic. The Japanese had no reason to invade the USA and would have nothing to gain from it. The only reason the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and Manila was to prevent the US Navy from interfering with its invasion of the Dutch East Indies. Why did Japan invade the Ductch East Indies? Because the (((FDR Regime))) cut off Japan's oil. Without oil industrial Japan would collapse and its people would literally starve to death. Why did the (((FDR Regime))) cut off Japan's oil? To sucker Japan in firing the first shot and therefore sucker the American people into (((WWII))).

There was a case where a major presidential candidate did not show up to debate.
Jimmy Carter refused to be part of a debate which had independent Jon Anderson.
Reagan was all for Anderson participating.
A debate with Reagan and Anderson went ahead, without Jimmy Carter.
I watched that debate on youtube not that long ago. I think Reagan did well. The loser was Carter. Jon Anderson took a dig at Carter: "The problems of the past four years were not caused by Governor Reagan...but by the person who chose not to show today's debate."
Hilary Clinton not showing up to a debate would hurt her chances.
My guess is that the Clinton campaign will try to minimize the number of debates. I don't expect more than two.

The number of troops in the Pacific Northwest doesn't matter for the following reason -- coming DIRECTLY from Admiral Yamoto:

"If we were to try to invade the United States, there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

The admiral wasn't talking about the armed forces, he was talking about a very heavily armed public -- which had bought a lot of automatic firearms before the $300 stamp/tax(*), and still bought all manner of firearms by mail order.

(*) ... and then, sadly, sent them to England, where they were eventually melted down, in complete contradiction to the Lend-Lease agreement -- although Yamoto had no idea that so many privately owned automatic weapons had been sent to the U.K.)

Yes, that's right. And there are one thousand other pictures they could have used besides this picture. Notice This Is A No is right next to her head which contains her brain. The article is also oddly-wrongly worded, as if the propaganda mill wasn't rightly oiled proper that day. Example:

... Clinton's health should be 'a major issue of the 2016 campaign'.

It then went on to wrongly say the photograph in question is, 'the latest evidence', to support its conspiracy - despite the picture being almost seven months old.

"old" connotative. She's even older and less healthy now. She'll be even older later on, too.

To continue, this post is titled "Damage control desperation" and begins "Even the UK media is going to almost unprecedented lengths to convince you not to believe the evidence of your lying eyes:", implying a major propaganda push. That's one interpretation.

Another, rightly-right-wing tinfoil conspiracy type interpretation, is that the 'unprecedented' propaganda is being botched on purpose. The SJW-freindly portal words draw them in for a read, and a list of unflattering pictures and health issues, finishing up with a clownish image of Bill that makes him look like he's senile (he is). Am looking at that image but not seeing it, can you explain?

Notice big SS man right behind her, concentrating. He has his hand lightly on her right waist, ready to grab her if she falls. Bill looks like a goof, though pleasant. Would-not-do looks would not doable, as usual, and is lending real support to her 'mother'. Hillary's downcast face with the grimace makes her look ready for a hospice. The entire composition is rather unflattering, so why even use it in a piece supposedly supporting Hillary?

Now draw a box around her head to include the perfectly-placed wording This Is A No. It's like a meme gif without needing any text editor, just the luck of the POV.

The topic is seizures, which involve this particular brain inside This Is A No head.

@44 "There is no way that Hillbot can avoid the debates."

Sure there is. There are several ways, actually.

She can avoid any particular debate if there is some major news event that day, such as another Orlando-style shooting or worse. It would be a trivial matter in such circumstances to cancel the debate so that we as a nation can mourn those killed and indulge in the usual leftist orgy of self-criticism, self-loathing, and gun-blaming.

She can avoid any or all of the debates by, as someone suggested above, seizing (no pun intended) on some alleged incidence of violence at a Trump rally on on behalf of Trump supporters - making excuses that she doesn't feel safe being on stage with him or with his "violent supporters" in the audience, or that she refuses to legitimize his violent and ugly campaign by debating him, or that she won't debate him until he apologizes for something he or one of his surrogates said about the incident.

She can also avoid any or all debates if Bill drops dead at some convenient moment. I see this as likely regardless of its utility in avoiding debates given that it would gain a possibly-decisive number of sympathy votes from the emotionally-led. But if it happened just before a debate she'd quite obviously cancel that one, and she could at least cancel one debate because of the distractions of the days-long presidential funeral process and/or personal mourning. She could also cancel any remaining debates by seizing on some Trump or Trump-surrogate comment about Bill/his death as unacceptable, refusing to debate someone who is so disrespectful to the late President and insensitive to her as a grieving widow.

Even better for Hillary's interests if Bill's purely hypothetical demise in this thought exercise hypothetically involved a firearm rather than natural causes, as not only would she escape having to debate Trump but she and the Dems at all levels could focus on gun control for the rest of the campaign cycle to the exclusion of all other issues or scandals.

And better yet would be Bill simply becoming critically ill rather than kicking the bucket. Hillary could then cancel the debates because she needs to be at the side of her beloved-and-desperately-clinging-to-life husband for an unknown time. That's as good if not better an out than him actually dropping dead, as it keeps all media attention on the Clinton family tragedy while maintaining the option for him to actually expire at the optimum moment for maximum sympathy-vote effect.

Cynical, yes. But one can never be too cynical when it comes to Clintons.

@17 "the debates are allegedly supposed to take place during NFL matches as well, thus taking away from them potential additional attention by viewers in"

Do these journalists not even realize there is an amazing new device -- the first version of which was called a VCR! The latest version(s) have many names, but allow a magic called time-shifting to occur; so football fans can watch the games mostly sober, and then play drinking games while they watch the time-shifted debates!!

It's far from impossible that Lizard Queen's health issues will bring on a massive sympathy vote.

After all, we have examples of dead candidates or their write-in widows receiving a plurality of the vote.

There's another video on Youtube that shows the entire event in real time. The "cold chai" comment is the give away. On that video it appeared as if she was trying to act like her head bobbing was due to a brain freeze. She didn't even take a real drink so there's no way it's a brain freeze.

Blogger dc.sunsets August 14, 2016 1:57 PM

Who'd have guessed that Crooked Hillary would end up being the first serious Special Ed or Americans with Disabilities Act candidate?

Affirmative Action winner in two, possibly three of the remaining AA categories to be checked.

She should openly declare as a rug biter and she'd be a shoe-in.

Got it. Thanks. So incompetent propaganda or something else? Subversion from within by Berners? The cognitive dissonance within progtards has to be increasing by the day, perhaps this sort of fail-prop is a result?

Blogger SemiSpook37 August 14, 2016 3:13 PM

I noticed in the video that the incident is looped sort of like the Tusken Raider knocking out Luke in Star Wars. That's not to say that she doesn't have an ailment of sorts. She does. I think the way the tape is edited, the looping makes it more damaging to her, and from what I can sense, was likely done intentionally by the editor for that specific purpose.

Granted, this is probably very low on my list of reasons that she should be rotting away in solitary at Leavenworth, as the collusion and pay-for-play attitude of the DoS, the open disdain for the 2nd Amendment (more the blatant ignorance of how it works vice the kowtowing to the party line), and the open support of infanticide all are more pressing reasons for not supporting the D candidate's campaign.

You're welcome. Maybe this and the Fox News material is a wake up call to the Dems/progs that they had better find someone else real quick? That Hillary is deteriorating at a pace that could see her in a hospice by inauguration day? And here she is falling down going up the stairs, and here she is with a busted arm, and now a not-seizure, but she's in fine shape. Huh? They never showed pictures of FDR in his wheel chair, so why show these?

This Is A No Head is one of those defining, almost Pulitzer level, photos. The setup is almost too perfect, like it was planned or staged somehow. The composition, the facial expressions, the body language, a Raphael level of expression. Notice her right arm is out like it's a high-wire act. For someone coming out of a hospital after a serious medical problem, it's a reasonable vignette, but not for someone running for US President.

There have been a number of these defining-moment photos. It reminds me of the Doting Gamma With Contemptuous Mattress Girl photo from a Vox Day post, which would have made DaVinci jealous. Couldn't find it again, too bad.

Blogger The Other Robot August 14, 2016 4:00 PM

If the media wants to help Hillary steal the election, their best bet is to paint it as a close thing leading up to Nov 9.

That is why all those online polls showing that Trump is really ahead are important and need to be pointed out.

Blogger Revelation Means Hope August 14, 2016 4:30 PM

Reveals something about their mindset that they consider February 2016 to be ancient history. Except of course when it was something Donald Trump said a couple decades ago, then it is definitely relevant.

Anonymous Daniel H August 14, 2016 4:59 PM

One thing that hasn't been mentioned, as far as I know, 68 year old people just don't do exaggerated responses like that. It is just so out of sync with the pattern and demeanor established by nearly every human by the time they are in their 60s. Only a trained actor in slapstick skit would even consider pulling such exaggerated movements off.

Neurological disorders are usually progressive, they don't get better. Often the sufferer deteriorates really fast. We shall see.

We can put her in a no-win situation by hyping her apparent illness, and also the lack of proof that she ever actually gave any speeches in exchange for all that money. (I believe the current hashtags are #HillarysHealth and #speechless.)

Having to balance involuntary unavailability/incapacity vs. voluntary laziness/corruption, any debate-skipping excuse that works for one hurts the other.

Wtf ... The Daily Mail sped up the "seizure " part of th video, so on that version, indeed it looked more like startled. It's manipulated by MSM video, versus the original YouTube versions.

Blogger Scott C August 14, 2016 6:04 PM

In Lerer's words, Clinton: 'perhaps eager to avoid answering or maybe just taken aback by our volume [she] responded with an exaggerated motion, shaking her head vigorously for a few seconds.'

How do we know that was her motive? Even if it was deliberate, it was still an odd thing to do. It's not like politicians aren't used to being grilled by the press.

Anonymous Takin' a Look August 14, 2016 6:09 PM

Jim stone said don't just focus on the health issues, that's what the (((media))) will try to spin sympathy for. Make sure all the scandals and suspicious deaths and vote rigging in both primary and general are hammered on as well.

Spin spin spin.

One of the MSM's problems today is that they've lost the "paper of record" kind of respect they once commanded. Whether or not they ever deserved it is another debate; they incontrovertibly had it for a lot of voters, and now they don't.

So they're used to selling bullshit and having the voters eat it up as if it's chocolate.

Now that's not happening they have no idea what to do. They still think that repeating it more and more loudly will eventually do the trick. They still think that slandering all dissenters as evil crazy ignorant idiots will do the trick.

But now a growing plurality, if not a majority, of voters distrust them as a matter of default policy, neither of these traditional methods will work, and in fact both of them make their situation worse.

Any sane person has to welcome this as long deserved irrelevance for these parasitic scum.

Anonymous Discard August 15, 2016 5:33 AM

Not showing up for a debate is like pleading the Fifth, a de facto admission of guilt.
