Castalia Book Club

Join the Castalia Book Club

Every month, we send out one or two emails announcing our new hardcovers, paperbacks, ebooks, comics, graphic novels, and audiobooks.

And with almost every email, we include an offer to download a free ebook published by us or by one of the friends of the Revolution in Literature. Sometimes it is offered as a reward for buying the new release, sometimes it's just our way of thanking you for your continued support of Castalia House.

Supporting Castalia House is the most rewarding and fun way to support the "good guys." Thanks for all you create!

I gather that those on the mailing list already should sign up starting this weekend?

Already subscribed so it won't let me resubscribe, but I must say that that second free giveaway book is a mighty fine choice.

No. You're already on the list.

I must say that that second free giveaway book is a mighty fine choice.

The first one isn't bad either.

Blogger Jack Vibe June 23, 2017 3:04 PM

Just signed up. Working my way through Sea of Skulls and it's awesome, loving the world and characters. Rocky Mountain Retribution is next on my list. Keep the good works coming!

Blogger SirHamster June 23, 2017 3:08 PM

Pretty awesome, Missionaries is a great read.

Blogger John Meyers June 23, 2017 3:13 PM

Giveaways are always nice. Even if I already purchased the books!
On a related note, when will the whole ebook catalog be available from the website? There are still many titles only available from Amazon. While Amazon is very convenient, it's still a little bit of a cage. A finely gilded cage, but still a cage. (Yes there are keys available if you know where to look.)
Having that extra bit of freedom and mobility is nice.

Is another volume of There Will Be War planned?

Anonymous andon June 23, 2017 3:21 PM

Later this summer, we will launch Castalia Book Club as a regular show on Gab TV.

that sounds interesting

Blogger Montrose June 23, 2017 3:28 PM

I already have most of Castalia's books, but the download offer is still nice for the one or two I'm missing.

Blogger lowercaseb June 23, 2017 3:31 PM

You should have Stephan Molyneux do a dramatic reading of selected one-star reviews on at least one of the GabTV segments. Castalia House books can bring out some choice whining from the SJWs of Amazon. It's almost like free DLC.

Blogger Dave June 23, 2017 3:46 PM

Woo-hoo I'm already in the club. If you're not, then get yourself signed up and grab your free ebooks. If you haven't read The Missionaries, it's a real hoot.

Anonymous roo_ster June 23, 2017 3:50 PM

Nifty. I do not regret buying the missionaries a few days back. Worth every penny.

Also patiently waiting for the complete sea of skulls.

Question...
What vendor provides the most revenue to castalia house when i make a purchase?

Anonymous Austrian Economist June 23, 2017 3:56 PM

I can see Cernovich and his carny direct response snake-oil spam is rubbing off on you. As Von Mises has proven, marketing is an unnecessary cost, it adds cost to both the consumer and producer. Here's a thought: A good book is something that should sell itself. No thanks to your spam.

Anonymous Russell Newquist June 23, 2017 3:58 PM

The first one isn't bad either.

I haven't read that one yet, but since I'm on the new release list and will get it free, I will add it to my "to read" list.

Blogger VD June 23, 2017 4:01 PM

Is another volume of There Will Be War planned?

Yes, when I can get to it.

Blogger Snidely Whiplash June 23, 2017 4:01 PM

And thats why the Mises institute doesn't have a nwsletter and doesn't sell books. Those books just sell themselves.

Seriously, is it any wonder no one takes Austrian Economics seriously?

Blogger VD June 23, 2017 4:02 PM

Castalia House. Then Amazon.

Blame Nick Cole for this one. Mike Cernovich did nothing wrong!

Blogger Ingot9455 June 23, 2017 4:03 PM

To get what you want, you must advertise.

Or, to quote Dr. Scholl, "Early to bed, early to rise, work like hell, and advertise!"

Blogger BassmanCO June 23, 2017 4:06 PM

@17 Austrian Economist - And you have clearly demonstrated you are a master of marketing. /sarc

Blogger Hauen Holzwanderer June 23, 2017 4:39 PM

I love to read, but until I found this place I hadn't read much except non-fiction for at least ten years. I just didn't have time to sort the wheat from the chaff. It was actually an article about rabid puppies that sent me here, I figured anyone despised by the mainstream as much as Vox can't be all bad and must be doing something right. The mailing list has been a godsend, I appreciate it, and I'm sure a lot of the affiliated authors do too.

Anonymous DC(#sqrt(-1)) June 23, 2017 7:01 PM

Done! Looking forward to more quality writing that's about entertainment, and not virtue-signaling. I'm with Larry...he (and others) should GET PAID for producing stories that folks will enjoy; and to heck with the haters -- laughing at how Cernovich is living rent-free in your head, No True Austrian!

Anonymous Mycroft Jones June 23, 2017 7:19 PM

Wow. The Missionaries started out good, but just kept getting better and better on every page. I haven't laughed this much in years. Finally, revenge on the yoiks that perpetrated "The Office" on us!

He was a good boy!

Anonymous Mycroft Jones June 23, 2017 7:23 PM

Vox and Castalia House, thank you for this. I haven't read any new fiction in over a year. The Missionaries is great, I'll have to hop over to Amazon and leave a good review. I wasn't planning to read anything today, but it sucked me right in. If Neal Stephenson and Douglas Adams dispensed with political correctness and attacked "The Office"... you'd get something like The Mssionaries.

Anonymous Deplorable me June 23, 2017 7:34 PM

Let me start out by admitting the logistics might be difficult ..,

Any possibility of doing Castalia House bundles a la the Been bundles?

Anonymous Deplorable me June 23, 2017 7:35 PM

Curse autocorrect! Baen bundles

Blogger Quilp June 23, 2017 8:20 PM

Thanks Vox. signed up, and will read the Missionaries because of an above thumbs up.

Out of the blue last night I decided, against my better judgement to try watching a new Summer TV series on FX, The Mist. The second scene was of a woman getting fired for daring to teach Sex ed the board didn't want taught (in 2017), Almost immediately the intolerant father of a makeup wearing gay kid was the next scene..then brash, brutish football, with the gay kid trotting out every liberal trope imaginable. Then the football party rape of the young female character..This was all in the first 23 minutes. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few instances of blatant SJW preaching as I was also busy with something else..but my goodness, that wasn't summertime horror entertainment, that was an assault on reality, and no one had even been killed yet. It made me long for the ending of the movie by the same name.

Sorry for the off topic post, but I really miss being entertained once in a while without Cultural marxist politics being inserted. Like Sex Ed is still a big topic in schools boards around America. They never want to stop fighting battles, even ones they've already won.

Anonymous CoolHand June 23, 2017 8:59 PM

You realize, of course, that every book you release and manage to sell to me results in a measurable reduction in my overall productivity and wealth.

Why do you hate fat white men so!?

But seriously, now that I've read that excerpt from City of Corpses, I'm gonna have to go read the whole damned series.

Curse you, Mr Day! You truly are a Dark Lord, killer of free time!

The anti-marketing hipster artistes have been coming out of the woodwork. And not just here; at the Castalia House blog, Kairos, and Twitter, too.

Here's the deal: marketing your work isn't selling out. It's an essential part of an artist's job. Real artists GET PAID. They do that by getting their work in front of as many interested parties as possible.

Nick and Cerno have proved that they're two of the best book marketers in the business right now. I largely owe the success I've had to their advice.

Sadly, the downloadable files that came with the Castalia House book club e-mail do not appear to be compatible with my Kindle Fire. I'll test it with the Yard ape's paper-white when I have more sitting-at-computer time.

Thanks for the gift, though: Vive Castalia!

It's not sad, it's inevitable. Kindle uses an Amazon-customized form of EPUB. Use Calibre to convert the EPUB files to MOBI, then load that onto your Kindle.

Big congrats to Moira! Wonderful person and her story is worth reading.

Use Calibre's ‘AZW3’ output format to convert EPUB files for use with the Fire tablets.

(It's possible that renaming the .mobi file to .azw would help; I haven't tried that. Converting to AZW3 definitely works.)

The Missionaries was great, and if There Will Be War is anything like Riding the Red Horse, it should be great too.

Nothing like success too bring out the trolls!

I deleted my announcement by mistake.  Can I get another one?

Anonymous Avalanche June 29, 2017 8:52 AM

Uh, sir? Not that I'm sitting staring hopefully at my inbox, but it's morning in America and no book club message yet? (Okay-yeah, I AM sitting here staring at my inbox!)

Started "Hitler in Hell" last night. (Can I submit a typo here or should it go direct to Castalia?)? Dunno page numbers in Kindle -- but the para in chptr 2 that begins "Much later, I once said that a man who does not know history..." The sentence beginning "It has neither a future not (sic) a past...." should be "nor."

'kay. Back to staring....

Anonymous Avalanche June 29, 2017 1:28 PM

Oh, turns out it's in chapter 1; just started reading chptr 2.
