Russia expels US diplomats

This is a warning to the Trump administration: do not permit NATO to extend an invitation to Georgia:
Speaking late on Sunday, the Russian president said that the time for retaliation has come: "we've been waiting for quite a long time that maybe something would change for the better, we had hopes that the situation would change. But it looks like, it's not going to change in the near future... I decided that it is time for us to show that we will not leave anything unanswered."

Putin added that "the personnel of the US diplomatic missions in Russia will be cut by 755 people and will now equal the number of the Russian diplomatic personnel in the United States, 455 people on each side" Putin said, adding that "because over a thousand employees, diplomats and technical personnel have been working and are still working in Russia, and 755 of them will have to cease their work in the Russian Federation. It’s considerable."

Putin also told the Russian audience that "the American side has made a move which, it is important to note, hasn't been provoked by anything, to worsen Russian-US relations. [It includes] unlawful restrictions, attempts to influence other states of the world, including our allies, who are interested in developing and keeping relations with Russia."

The US Congress is playing checkers, and isn't very good, as they refuse to make any Kings, certainly not the God Emperor.

It's amazing how (((they))) have managed to sour relations between two white Christian nations with no provocations from the other side, and no benefit to either party, while there is a president in the White House that promised to do the exact opposite during the election. It is as if POTUS is not relevant and the 2016 election didn't happen. The whole thing is so bizarre and surreal that it looks like magic (or is satanism a better word for this?).

Putin plays chess, not checkers. So does TGE. The others, if they're playing at all, are playing checkers.

The one piece of advice I've always given American tourists and new Expats, is that if they run into trouble with the locals, do not under any circumstances to to the US embassy or consulate. Instead, go to the Canadians, Australians or Irish. The Irish and Aussies are best. The US will have some men from the Marine Security Guard detachment hold you until the local police arrive.

The US State Department represents the interests of the US Government abroad, not the interests of US citizens. In fact, they consider services for citizens to be a tremendous pain in the ass and make it clear they do not like it. I state that on the basis of observation and experience from working with them.

Blogger Cail Corishev July 31, 2017 2:10 PM

Why does the U.S. embassy over 1'000 employees?

A few dozen people doing actual diplomacy, handling visas, etc. A couple hundred outright spies. The rest are permanent tourists, spending US taxpayer dollars on Russian hookers -- some of them even over 18.

I guess we have to hope that Trump and Putin have the close relationship the Democrats have been insisting they have. (((Congress))) seems determined to push us into a war with Russia, especially now that the true facts of collusion are threatening to come out with the Awan arrest, so here's hoping the two men can communicate and deny them.

Blogger Snidely Whiplash July 31, 2017 2:14 PM

It was the French that built the Iranian reactor. And Pakistan provided bomb plans for that matter.
If Russia wanted to give ICBMs to N Korea, they'd have had them 30 years ago.

We should be making common cause with Russia against the Muslim invasion. Instead Jews have taken control of the US government and are using it against our will and against our interests. Nothing our Jewish rulers like more than white nations bleeding each other dry on the battlefield. This has to end.

Blogger justaguy July 31, 2017 2:23 PM

Why would the United States make a link to defend to the death and put our country at risk for some former part of the Soviet Union that has a substantial Russian native population? I certainly do not want to go to war to protect a corrupt, backward pile that has no bearing or interest to us.

Then again, the same goes for all of NATO now. In 1950, we may have been needed. The unknown issue of the Europeans thinking the nukes would go over them and the US thinking it would be in Europe gave the nations a pause in time to rebuild their economies. Luckily Russia isn't interested in invading Western Europe, although it was foolish to accept Latvia et el into NATO.

Blogger Cail Corishev July 31, 2017 2:25 PM

It's amazing how (((they))) have managed to sour relations between two white Christian nations with no provocations from the other side, and no benefit to either party,

It really is. Silly me, I thought we were happy when the Berlin Wall came down, travel to and from Russia became possible, and the USSR's stockpile of ICBMs started shrinking instead of growing. Remember how much the media and the left loved Gorbachev (and gave him all the credit, none for Reagan) because we could get along with him? Remember how great it was that we could sell blue jeans and Big Macs to the Russkies and not have to worry about Armageddon?

Of course, that was when Russia was still atheist, at least on the surface. Give people a shot at an oil pipeline that will make them filthy rich and a couple decades to rack up crimes pursuing it, present them with an increasingly Christian Russia that might have her own interests, and I guess another Cold War (or a hot one) looks better than giving all that up.

Blogger Orthodox July 31, 2017 2:26 PM

Blogger DemonicProfessorEl July 31, 2017 2:31 PM

From a different perspective, if NATO would trade Georgia and Armenia for Turkey, booting out the latter (as they are allies to no one), then I might raise my eyebrow.

Otherwise, NATO entry precedes EU incorporation typically. The EU must be in deeper trouble than we think...

And Putin is much smarter that anyone in or on the Swamp. And speaking of the latter, what's to say that this wasn't Trump's intention - to reduce more federal employees anyway?

I wouldn't be surprised at all at that. Trump and Putin have been shown to constantly hoodwink most politicos with even the simplest of feints.

@2 David-2
The US Congress/Swamp is terrible at checkers, like you said. It's almost like they use Monopoly money and pieces from other games and wonder why the board is diagonal.

Where Putin will just laugh and go, "chess is too simple a game, my friend."

@12 Geir Balderson

Not a surprise that Putin does more to help the US than 90% of American politicians...

The epic stupidity is biblical. NATO just means us – it doesn’t mean allies, all of our “allies” together have a whopping 12 battalions (less than a full division), comprised of countries that don’t speak the same language, have slightly compatible equipment with some countries, but not others (COMSEC), different politics and different ROE (which was a nightmare the first 10 years of Afghanistan, and in Iraq). And it’s not only wanting to tangle with Russia, it’s China, North Korea, and Iran. Somebody recently floated another “hey we ought to consider the draft again” article by some general. We don’t have troops to chew the bites we’re trying to take. I think Putin is likely to embarrass the crap out of some people if we push him (probably in Syria), and I don’t envy Trump. For example, taking Russia's side and noting that we have been blaming them for everything and pushing them --- well, that is just not done. Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, Russia, ... and on and on.

NATO pushes up to their very borders as we enact more economic sanctions. Our "news" casts are full of anti-Russian agitprop and indoctrination. And we wonder why they seem concerned about our actions.

Blogger Johnny July 31, 2017 5:36 PM

I get so tired of this Russia is playing chess crap. The situation that Russia is in is simple enough that there is no need for them to be all over the top cleaver. They are a country in a dangerous part of the world that can not back down much more than they did when the USSR fell apart without risking the eventual termination of their country.

Maybe they will let Syria go if we push them hard enough, and maybe not. Calling it a poker game, their ace in the hole when dealing with Europe is the ability to shut down the energy exports that go into Europe. If they let Syria go two pipelines will give Europe a new energy supplier, weakening Russia's ability to keep NATO off their back. Same thing even more so with the Ukraine and Georgia. NATO remains an anti Russian alliance, and Russia is unlikely to allow itself to be surrounded by NATO forces. So, these are areas where Russia is not likely to back down, and they have an announced policy of going nuclear if they have to. What makes this threat credible is the weakness of the Russian situation. Lots of long dangerous borders and not that powerful an economy.

So, anybody want to find out if, say, a nuclear tipped torpedo can crush the hulls of an entire carrier task force? And discover this in a conflict where we have nothing of importance at stake.

Russia isn't playing chess, they are playing checkers while we are playing the fool abroad and domestic politics at home.

Some are CIA undercover, some are consular officers, etc. For example, China (when I was at our embassy in Nicaragua) had one of the biggest consular loads. What had to be done daily at the consular section in Nicaragua, about 100, had to be done by each consular officer in China. I'd not be surprised if Russia were similar to China. Given Russian state monopolies, I wouldn't be surprised if we had quite a few econ officers too. As others on Zerohedge correctly pointed out, many of the 1000 employees are LES: locally employed staff (Russians that work at the embassy).

Airpower assists. It's been the wet dream of air forces the world over since their inception that air power will win a war. To win, you need ground forces to take and hold territory. In return for German re-unification as a single state, the withdrawal of Russian occupation of East Germany, and Russian agreement that the re-unified Germany could be a NATO member state.....the US (and NATO) agreed not to advance NATO further east, toward the Russian border. It was a major breakthrough and a diplomatic coup to get Russian agreement.

Since that time, the US (and NATO) have not kept their end of the bargain. New NATO member states were added almost as fast as the Russians could withdraw back to Russia.

"Jack Matlock, US ambassador to the Soviet Union during its final years, said that the West gave a "clear commitment" not to expand, and declassified documents indicate that Soviet negotiators were given the oral impression by diplomats like Hans-Dietrich Genscher and James Baker that NATO membership was off the table for countries such as Czechoslovakia, Hungary, or Poland." Copied from Wikipedia article..."Enlargement of NATO".

Since German re-unification in October 1990, NATO has added the following member states:
Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland....1999
Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia........2004
Albania, Croatia...................2009
Montenegro.........................2017

Blogger DonReynolds August 01, 2017 12:04 AM

From the same "Enlargement of NATO" article....
"In 2017, NATO officially recognized three aspiring members: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and Macedonia. Macedonia has been prevented from joining the alliance by Greece, one effect of the Macedonian naming dispute. Future expansion is currently a topic of debate in several countries outside the alliance, and countries like Sweden, Finland, and Serbia have open political debate on the topic of membership, while in countries like Ukraine, support and opposition to membership is tied to ethnic and nationalist ideologies. The incorporation of countries formerly in the Eastern Bloc has been a cause of increased tension between NATO countries and Russia."

Blogger DonReynolds August 01, 2017 12:15 AM

The threat to Russia, Francis.....comes from NATO (meaning the US and the Western Powers)....which can, and has, moved military units into these countries. They are by no means neutral countries and the positioning of NATO military assets on their soil, does make them a military threat. All of these countries are moving the NATO tripwire to the East, toward Russia.

Look, Trump also nominated that useless cuck Sessions. The GE is only 6 months into his administration. It will take time to drain the swamp and deport the invaders and build the wall. All this social media talk is justifying the NeverTrumper's claim that the GE's election would generate chaos.

The God-Emperor has an internal cabinet that includes his own daughter's husband that will help guide him through any lamestream media scandal. Trump is known for firing people, so it's not surprising that his administration is filled with firings. The administrative branch is particularly known for firings. For example, look at the FBI.

I think it's long past the time for the God Emperor to purge his cabinet of cucks. Putting a goddamned Marine in as Chief of Staff is a great move by the GE to drain the swamp of all the leaches.
