An alternative to suicide

AfD passes the Social Democrats in the German polls:
Germany’s main center-left party, the Social Democrats, saw its rating fall below that of the right-wing Alternative for Germany for the first time in an opinion poll published Monday, piling fresh ignominy on the country’s disintegrating center-left.

The news came on the day German Chancellor Angela Merkel appointed a new secretary general at her Christian Democratic Union, the country’s other big mainstream party, in a move widely interpreted as a first step toward engineering her succession and silencing ever louder critics within her own camp.

While unrelated, the two developments cast light on the crisis that engulfed Germany’s political center when the two parties that had dominated government here since the end of World War II both scored their worst election results in more than half-a-century late last year, leaving the country without a clear ruling majority.

The center-left SPD, the country’s oldest party, has suffered the most. It saw its rating drop to 15.5% in an INSA Consulere poll for the popular Bild daily published on Monday, the first time it had dropped behind the anti-establishment AfD, which rose one point to 16% in a week.

The phenomenon isn’t confined to Germany—the moderate left has suffered deep setbacks in France, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands in recent years—but it has left pollsters scratching their heads.

“The SPD is currently falling apart,” said INSA’s Hermann Binkert. “The AfD is currently the only party that’s decisively against everything that people upset about the political establishment.”
The pollsters are either playing disingenuous or they are stupid. The reason the moderate left is being abandoned in Europe is the same reason that Republicans are on the rise in the USA despite the demographics being increasingly against them. Most people of European descent on the Left want to live in a progressive white country and despite their past enthusiasm for foreigners, minorities, and refugees, they have belatedly discovered that they don't actually want their children to be a minority dominated by a variety of foreign interest groups with different cultures, traditions, and civilizational standards.

Not only that, but they are seeing their parties align with their decades-old political opponents as both globalized parties unite in a futile attempt to stop the rising nationalists.

Of course, in the SPD's case, it doesn't do much for their appeal that until one week ago, the party was being led by an EU apparatchik who has openly stated,  “For me, the new Germany exists only in order to ensure the existence of the State of Israel and the Jewish people.”

Interestingly, the headline says "right-wing" instead of "hard-" "far-," or any alternative modifier you can think of indicating extremism. (Extremism being bad because...status quo good?)

That's Overton progress. Maybe soon formerly putative mainstream groups shall be identified as "hard-left." (A guy can dream.)

So, another election cycle or two before there is real change?

The problem with the left is reality. The few doctors or engineers that were fleeing tyranny of decades ago, were grateful for being allowed to stay and assimilated as much as possible into Germany (or America) are not what they are getting now.

Instead, they are getting rape mobs, arsonists, and rioters. There is no magic in the dirt. And they are beyond ungrateful.

What the Jews also can't seem to understand is that when people wake up and don't want a group of unassimilated people with their own separate culture, religion, and practices, being shoved down their throat, they also start noticing the local socioecosystem. Poles see that having muslim rapefugees from the mid-east to Afghanistan is a bad thing, but then what about the enclaves of separate Jews - are they Polish? Are they demanding to keep the Muslims out more vehemently than Poland's far right? Or do they too want more "multiculturalism".

Antibiotics kill all bacteria, including the helpful, good gut bacteria. But when there is a bad infection, foreign invader organisms, that is what is used.

“I’m all for diversity as long as I’m not the minority.” - every SWPL lib I know, bemoaning either a) the lack of diversity in their 75% white neighborhoods or b) how ‘unfairly’ their kids are treated in schools where diversity reigns.

it has left pollsters scratching their heads.

Somebody get Scooby Doo on the horn, we've got ourselves a mystery, ya'll.

And they would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for these meddling kids.

I always have to take a moment to process the information when I am reminded that Merkel's party has the word "Christian" in it.

The increasing popularity of political parties that call for the end of importing people who form rape gangs, throw acid in women's faces, riot and burn cars, increase the incidence of crime, refuse to assimilate, and expect to live off taxes paid for by the law abiding current citizens is, indeed, a puzzlement.

It would be difficult to explain to a paying client, "That girl on the news who was raped and murdered? That's your fault and people have figured it out." and expect to receive more polling work from them. So, "I don't know. We need to do more polling!" is the answer. Milk that cow 'til it's dry.

When they realize that the revolution isn't here, nations still exist, and culture still matters, will they attempt to suspend democracy?

Of course. They're already trying to elect a new people. Murdering the old one is obviously the backup plan.

You don't realise you grew up in a super-sympathetic culture towards Jews because you also see the link to Christianity & it's all relational & regardless, keeping it all relevant. But then you also realise things got ugly last century with the always capable Jews in the mix of cross-currents, & that these folks are the heir apparents to the ones that told them to take the criminal down from the cross rather than 'the way the truth and the light'. So yeah, steroid-induced levels of scumbaggery. Then you can start reading history again like you have those glasses from They Live! (RIP Rowdy Roddy) I may owe the French a bit of an apology if I investigate further into the Revolution, although, still, probably not.

AFD is also set to displace CDU as the strongest party all across the Eastern länder.
(East Germans are in general more critical of ther establishment due to their historic experience with Communism)

"spinster, feminist, lesbians(?)"

- well to be honest in her favor, she's at least married with three children, and once caused a minor uproar by opposing 'gay marriage equality' on the grounds that polygamy or incestual unions would follow.

Otherwise ...

Her time as premier in Saarland has shown that she's functional as a managerial type of the establishment status quo but that's about it.

In an interview on Deutschlandfunk this morning she was subjected to some rather straightforward questioning regarding the mass importation of 'migrants' and the question of whether the CDU needs to 'redefine a conservative profile' (it's way too late). She very clearly positioned CDU as a party that needs to validate existing trends in society rather than proscribe ideals for society - that is, basically to provide post-facto justification for degeneracy. (though not in those words of course). That is the role she and her kind see for a 'party that has Christian in its name'. For them 'Christian' means enabling chain migration for polygamous Muslim clans because 'family values'.

AFD has been eating up a lot of voters from both CDU and SPD, in fact labor unions are having trouble positioning themselves as 'Left' anymore in some regions as significant parts of unionized labor have joined or aligned with AFD.

"So, another election cycle or two before there is real change?"

First SPD party members need to confirm the coalition and it is by no means 100% certain that will happen. Quite a few of their party members are ordinary labor types and not globalists/postmodernists. Ironically, the "Young Socialists" whom one would expect to be most heavily converged are agitating against the coalition.

Even if it happens there's a very good chance it doesn't last long. Desertion of MPs from CDU, or a split of the 'union' between CDU and CSU are not all that unlikely. Even if Merkel manages to get another chancellorship the parameters of German politics have shifted fundamentally.

It's along the same lines as "every country name with 'democratic' in the title is a totalitarian dictatorship".

German youth are tired of hearing about "The Holocaust!" They don't feel any guilt and could not care less what Jews think of them. The same phenomenon is currently in its incipient stage here in the good ol' USA. (((Uh oh))).

Not just youth, here in fUSA. It's been more than 30 years since I was ``youth,'' and I didn't care about Jews back then, either. I did admire the way Israel was kicking sand in the faces of our Arab enemies back then.

I'm sure that's part of it. But I saw an interesting video on youtube today. A guy was speculating that the leftists, or blue religion as he called it, are incapable of taking in new facts and using them to come to a more accurate model of reality. Its as if they have a menu of choices that they can choose from and regardless of the facts, that's where they go for their reactions to any situation. He pointed to the Jordon Peterson/Cathy Newman as an example. He would say something, and then she would say, "what you are saying is" and then state pretty much the opposite of what he said. Because in her mind, he is a right-wing bigot and that is how they think.

For real, where is the Exodus denial tho. European laws don't address that. Slaves my arse. In fact, only few were slaves the rest were spurned elites forced out by pharaoh & it was all to garner sympathy while they were taking over the Canaanites land, lined their Tsar up against a wall and everything. We doing the Denial Convention in Turkmenistan this year. Stan party.

@7: When someone uses the term "Christian", I generally ask what they mean by that. I've encountered many people who consider themselves to be "Christians" for minimal (I'm at a loss for a polite term to use) reasons: "I was born in a Christian country", "I've never killed anyone", etc; people who have seen neither a Bible nor the inside of a church; people who don't believe in God, much less that Jesus is His Son.

Unfortunately, the term "Christian" has largely lost its meaning.
