Democracy is sex?

This criticism of proposed legislation in Indonesia reveals the insanity at the core of the globalist Left.
Gay sex, cohabitation, and sex outside marriage would become illegal and punishable with prison terms under proposals from Islamic parties that could soon become law in the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation. Critics say the moves, which are being negotiated among Indonesia’s political parties and government legislative drafters, would, if enacted, be a major blow to democracy in this Southeast Asian nation of 250 million.
How can legislation that is popular with the majority of the electorate be "a major blow to democracy"?

When was "democracy" redefined as "unrestricted sex"?

Think about what this implies for survival of democracy as a legitimate political philosophy in the future. It is increasingly apparent that to the Left, "democracy" means nothing more than "the policies we happen to favor at the moment".

Funny how Democrats, who are pro-Islam, can complain about this and yet they can’t see how the same would occur in an Islamicized West. It’s as if their brains can’t comprehend the consequences that flow from actions and situations.

It does make sense why so many on the left are so "pro-democracy" if they define "democracy" as "whatever I want at the moment". I had wondered why so many people were so vehemently pro democracy (I figured it was propaganda) that they would brook no criticism but I guess I was just being an idiot not realizing he's arguing with a fool.

Democracy is a child getting a vote on whether or not he can stick his hand into the cookie jar. And that child has a penchant for rigging the vote to permit him to do so.

Anonymous GunShowTrash February 01, 2018 11:17 AM

Indonesia is taking "self-determination of peoples" seriously.

And somebody doesn't like it. "If you don't like it, you can leave" stated my high school wrestling coach.

To cross that border, you'll have to try to cast-off your previous identity (if you can) and you'll have to accept a new culture (as you must). Swiss citizen Tina Turner could tell you about that.

Borders? Countries? Identity? Culture? Silly me.

"Democracy" = Homo-Corpo-Judeo-Globalism

It's been that way since the days when Woodrow Wilson fraudulently plunged the USA into World War I to "make the world safe for democracy".

Blogger Johnny February 01, 2018 11:25 AM

Another misused word is populist. Used to be they declared themselves and their favored candidates as populists. Now it is often closer to a purgative. When Trump or somebody is pushing something we reasonably know they don't like they refer to it as populist. They are honorary members of this elite minority that knows better than the average folk. Thus populist is suspect.

Also in science when some professors work is said to be controversial, what they really mean is suspect, therefore should be ignored. Essentially making consensus a kind of proof. We all agree so it must be true.

Blogger pyrrhus February 01, 2018 11:28 AM

Indonesia wants to become less of a sh*thole country, so of course the Left protests...Meanwhile, the US keeps voting to let immigrants poop in the streets (Denver the latest)....Interesting contrast...

Blogger LonestarWhacko February 01, 2018 11:29 AM

I've never understood this....Islam plainly says that perversion must be destroyed. All of those alphabet folks.....that means you. What happens if folks come to this country....and have zero interest in alphabet rights? That's what is happening in Indonesia.

You would think that will be intelligent folks would take need of practical death threats. But, I'm a deplorable sort, so never mind.

Sexual perversion is always the Hallmark of the death of a civilization. Folks voting in Indonesia certainly have the right to vote as they wish. Suicide bombers are an expression of Islamic hatred.

So, what happens when folks openly elect and support bomb makers? Is that democracy? Yes, it is. I reckon that alphabet people had best learn to leave certain folks alone.

I'm of two minds here....what can religious folks do to protect their young from sexual perversion and deviance? Think what you will, but Islam is an established religion. Am I an adherent? No. But I'm a layman historian. The only way perversion is stopped is by eradication.

I used to live in Key West nearly 30 years ago. When the gay cruise liners showed was literally out of control. Drunken anal sex openly on Duval Street.

Think about Democracy. What it actually is versus what we see today. You see, perversion destroys everything. It makes it impossible to raise children. Raising the next generation is, in truth, the only real duty of humanity. Involving God in that process is the only way to be successful. Perversion practices abortion. So, folks are watching from all over the world. Democracy doesn't have to practice perversion. That's the decision of perverts.

Let's take it further to the globalist lefties.

Their view is that of an extremely small minority.

The largest pluralities of the world population want gaysex gone; the second largest of those preferring it happens by throwing from rooftop.

If they supported true democracy by the people, they'd support outlawing gaysex.

Anonymous Dan February 01, 2018 11:45 AM

Such stupidity. The word they are looking for is "rights." They could trivially make their argument by appealing to universal rights of man, whatever those are. I suppose they don't believe in things they used to, like universal rights of man, anymore. Those are just some ramblings of dead white males, to be discarded, obv.

They look at the ideas that were formerly associated with civilization the way Xhosa regarded airplanes flying overhead. A total mystery.

Blogger Johnny February 01, 2018 11:45 AM

The concept of democracy is popular with the public so the idea will remain in place even if the reality fades. The USSR was democratic, sort of, they had elections and all that.

What is going on in Indonesia is creeping Islamic law. Islam favors rule by a priest class and thus is anti democratic. Whether that is what the critics have in mind here I don't know, but moves away from being more Western Cultured are often said to be against democracy. And that is even when the local population supports the move.

when were the founding principles of the United States redefined to be Democracy and unlimited immigration?

sexual perversity has been an overt goal of the Marxists since at least the early 1900s.

if you define sexual perversity as the confusion of men's and women's roles in society, it's always been a Marxist goal.

Would this law apply to western tourists? They apply drug-trafficking laws to westerners, but if they are going to enforce this in Bali, that region is going to lose a massive amount of revenue. Australians go there specifically to party, like Americans in Cancun or British in Barcelona.
Then again, the moral situation might be worth the loss of revenue, from the standpoint of the ordinary Indonesian.
They executed the two Australian citizens a couple of years ago, for drug-trafficking, despite Australia threatening to boycott Bali. Widodo didn't flinch at all, though.

Australians better tread carefully on their next vacation, no matter what lol.

Centralizing laws like this one are sure to cause civil strife. If they try to enforce this, expect Hindu-majority Bali to secede to protect its tourism industry. Why does diversity+proximity = war? Because one group inevitably tries to force its will on all others.

Anonymous tublecane February 01, 2018 3:35 PM

They're always talking about the results of democratic elections and the actions of democratically-elected officials and democratically-organized governments as anti-democratic son account of disagreeing with them. That's because all forms "democracy" are positive words. In our culture, they're magic words that are always associated with goodness, light, gumdrops, and lollipops.

If they wish to denigrate democratic politics, they use instead variations on the word "politics." For instance, if so-and-so is "playing politics," that's always bad. Even if it's just the practical result of democracy in action.

It's a very useful thing to have such words, assuming you're able to control how they're applied. That way, your enemies are always political, and your side is always democratic. One can't do without massive deception in posy-Enlightenment politics, and no need to make it hard on yourself.

WaPo picked up a new slogan after Trump's ascension: "democracy dies in darkness." That confused me at first, because as I recall we just had a democratic election, which Trump won. Though I don't believe everything was on the up-and-up, I wasn't aware democratic institutions were in danger.

Then I figured they meant Trump might wish to destroy democracy, because that's what they'd do if they had their druthers. Not on their watch, buster! (Until such time as one of their guys is in office.)

But in a simpler sense, Trump threatens democracy in their estimation because they disagree with Trump's platforms. The "democracy" label doesn't apply to him, because "democracy" is good and Trump is bad. It isn't anymore complex that that.

I lived in Indonesia for about a year. The amount of gay men there is absolutely staggering. Called "banci" pronounced "banshee" .Transvestites basically , they can be seen everywhere dressed up like women . Begging for money on busses , turning tricks in urban areas , playing banjos for change at intersections , surprisingly often as entertainment at islamic weddings and as the butt of jokes on tv shows.

Blogger Mint February 01, 2018 8:37 PM

The article is sloppy. Maybe because it's written for international audience, they are trying to appeal to what they think will move International's sympathy. If it's for Indonesians, they will play it from humans right angle. Then they would have still have a chance to convince some votes. If the lefties want to play identity politic in Indonesia, they are foolish beyond reason to think that Islam majority don't know how to play that game better than they can.

There's a Christian stand up comedy performer sued for stating the obvious recently (what VD said "the crime of noticing"): There is one thing you cannot win against in Indonesia: the majority. He was sued by one group of offended Islamic group.

They should have been very careful with facts as well.
"...Indonesia researcher for Human Rights Watch, referring to the longtime dictator whose ouster in 1998 launched a democratic era in Indonesia." 1998 is not the year that launched democratic era in Indonesia.
Since the Independence declaration in 1945, Indonesia constitution stated that Indonesia is a democratic country. President is responsible to the Representative Council, and the representative council is chosen by people.

Democracy is only as good as the people participating in that democracy, unfortunately MPAI.

In the USA, Britain, and Europe, "real democracy" (TM) means voting for what the haughty elites want, and nothing else.

If you fail to vote correctly, you will be required to vote again until you get it right. Because democracy! And then you will never vote on the issue again. Because democracy (The People Have Spoken)!

Anonymous Esmar Tuek February 01, 2018 11:49 PM

No one believes in democracy anymore, I spent years arguing with inteligensia types, explaining that it's mob rule. It took brexit to convince near half the UK that the mob is too stupid to vote on serious issues, the half that voted for brexit are realising that, even if you win, your vote means nothing.

Democracy in the west seems to work cos we're civilised anyway, I'm 90% confident that we could scrap all MPs in the UK, it wouldn't make a difference to anyone. The civil servants would carry on as they do. The brexit negotiations prove that the prime minister serves no purpose. If that wasn't taking up her time, she'd be making something else up to do.

Anonymous Ryan G February 02, 2018 7:08 AM

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is why, unless the West has a radical transformation, the Islamic world is going to eventually overwhelm us.

Homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, and the normalization of having children out of wedlock - these are signs of an moribund civilization. History has repeatedly shown that regardless of how militarily or economically advanced a civilization might be, if it's rotten from within it will eventually fall from without.

Strong cultures will always endure, regardless of circumstances. Say what you will about the Jews, but the fact that there even still are Jews is a testament to this. Since their diaspora, dozens of different ethnic groups in Europe have come into being and vanished - but the Jews endured.

Contrast that with the various cultures in the West. Tradition is irrelevant, the family is mocked, and religion is, at best, viewed with indifference. Without tradition, a culture has no past, without the family, it has no future, without religion, it's lost in the present.
