No, it's YOUR fault, Mr. FBI Man

I would be willing to bet a considerable amount of money that this political jackass was going to be leaving the FBI anyhow. That, or he's trying to jump ship before he is implicated in the FBI's crimes himself.
After more than a decade of service, which included investigating terrorism, working to rescue kidnapping victims overseas and being special assistant to the director, I am reluctantly turning in my badge and leaving an organization I love. Why? So I can join the growing chorus of people who believe that the relentless attacks on the bureau undermine not just America’s premier law enforcement agency but also the nation’s security. My resignation is painful, but the alternative of remaining quiet while the bureau is tarnished for political gain is impossible.

A small number of my current and retired colleagues have said that we should simply keep our heads down until the storm passes. I say this with the greatest respect: They are wrong. If those who know the agency best remain silent, it will be defined by those with partisan agendas.

F.B.I. agents are dogged people who do not care about the direction of political winds. But to succeed in their work, they need public backing. Scorched-earth attacks from politicians with partisan goals now threaten that support, raising corrosive doubts about the integrity of the F.B.I. that could last for generations.

When the F.B.I. knocks on someone’s door or appeals to the public for assistance in solving crime, the willingness of people to help is directly correlated to their opinion of the agency. When an agent working to stop a terrorist plot attempts to recruit an informant, the agent’s success in gathering critical intelligence depends on the informant’s belief that the agent is credible and trustworthy. And, as the former director, James Comey, would frequently say in underscoring the importance of high standards, whether a jury believes an agent’s testimony depends on whether it has faith in the bureau’s honesty and independence. To be effective, the F.B.I. must be believed and must maintain the support of the public it serves.
What a total fucking joke. I'm a fiction editor. I have read thousands of submissions, both at Castalia House and as a slush reader for a bigger publishing house back in the day. And I recognize poorly written fiction when I see it.

This resignation is a silly, stupid, and incompetent attempt at swaying public opinion that is rightly appalled by the political corruption that has been exposed by the Nunes memo.

We don't believe the FBI. We don't think it is effective, and given its apparently seditious objectives, we're glad it isn't. We don't support it. We don't back it. To the contrary, we think that it is a collection of liars, criminals, and traitors who should be imprisoned. We spit on the Bureau and we spit on its badge.

Note this: Josh Campbell (@joshscampbell) is a former supervisory special agent with the F.B.I. who served as a counterterrorism investigator and special assistant to the bureau’s director.

Special assistant to the bureau's director = corrupt political hack.

UPDATE: See, the sort of blatant lying on exhibit in this fake news sob story is exactly why Americans don't trust FBI agents.
My FBI sources tell me the real reason the writer of this piece, Josh Campbell, one of @comey and #McCabe's allies, is leaving the Bureau is because he was offered and accepted a VERY lucrative gig with @CNN to throw shade on the scandal.

Why doesn't he act like a normal Derp Stater, spout off about how he hates the president, and try to get him thrown out of office from *inside* the FBI?

Or has it become apparent that people are actually paying attention? Is that particular jig up, or just a bit too risky for some timid seditionists?

Trump told these people almost a year ago that he knew they'd illegally wiretapped him. Anyone who continued in an illegal conspiracy against him is certifiably insane and belongs in a mental institution. No need for anything exotic like drones or trials.

What initially surprised me about the scandal was the cultural changes that had to have taken place at the Bureau for this to have happened.

FBI used to be famous for heavily recruiting Marines. Hell, they sniffed around ME in the late 1990s. Apparently they still recruit out of the Corps but there appears to be a very sharp cut off for how high a Jarhead can go now in today's Bureau.

So far the guys involved in this scandal are all JDs who got invited to the cocktail party circuit (and yes that is a thing). Honestly, they strike me more as the Bill Krystal #nevertrump types then hard bitten G-Men.

Anonymous Anonymous February 03, 2018 5:04 PM

The FBI has always been an enemy of the people. An enemy of real law and justice. An enemy of morality and civilization.

I hope that the memo and things that will surely follow will wake up the normal American people. These Federal agencies have to go.

But will anyone come forward and lobby for getting rid of even one of these agencies? I doubt it.

As for the big noses, that's unfortunately at least semi-true. The more someone opposes the GE the uglier they are likely to be, and there are quite a few honkers in that group. Same with "stein." That statement is true enough to be feasible, imho.

Then there was Malheur and the Bundy Ranch. Or Lon Horiuchi that murdered Vicki Weaver. And setting up the "Kill Zone" to murder LeVoy Fillicum.

The only good FBI agent retired long ago or is dead.

What ARE they doing on the LasVegas investigation beside covering it up?

What did they do about Hillary, Huma, Weiner, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and her Pakistani spy IT guy?

They are all stupid and/or evil. If they wish to prove otherwise, arrest Hillary, expose the DNC and the Pakistanis, and eject and prosecute those who murdered Filicum and lied or obstructed the Bundys. Then they might be talked to about respect.

I had an interesting opportunity to talk today to several Utah liberals and cuckservative nevertrumpers today without getting into arguments, and I realized some very important facts about them.

1) They are completely and utterly uninformed. Most of them have no Idea who Comey or McCabe are. In fact, the usual response is "I try to stay as far away from politics as possible" except, of course, they are exposed to MSN on a daily basis to 'get their facts'.
2) They are utterly unashamed of being ignorant, in fact they revel in it. "He promised to repeal Obamacare but hasn't even tried yet." and "he hasn't even started the wall yet!" are common responses.
3) "They are laughing at us". These people are utterly convinced that a) Everyone in the world is laughing at us because of Trump, and B) we should care what everyone else in the world thinks. Bearing in mind that these are people who loudly proclaim that they are NOT globalists, but for some reason they are concerned that the French scorn us because we reject the kind of socialism that has failed them so utterly.
4) "He needs to stay off Twitter". Apparently cucks are still convinced that a man that sends tens of thousands of our best and brightest overseas to get their body parts blown off in third world shitholes is vastly more 'dignified' than someone that gets Kim Jong to stop shooting nukes.

These are people that consider themselves "Fiscally conservative" and "Republican core". Frankly, at this point, I am beginning to realize that nothing less than the complete detention of every news source that has committed fraud (all MSM) is going to be needed to smack some sense into this 'core demographic'.

@61-So you think Trump is the only other human besides Val Kilmer to have that dream where he's standing in Sun-God robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing pickles at him?

It might be what motivates the great ones.

Blogger tublecane February 04, 2018 12:29 AM

@71-You're probably not black.

On another blog, there was an extended argument over a statement supposedly uttered by St. Trayvon of the Skittles, as recounted by differently-abled witness Rachel Jeantel. She had it that Trayvon Martin called his soon-to-be killer, "White Hispanic" George Zimmerman, a "creepy-ass cracker." Which is to say that Martin perceived Zimmerman to be a homosexual on the make. (I wonder, how common are such predators in the black "community?")

Some posters interpreted it as "creepy ass-cracker," because homos crack assess, so to speak. We had to explain to them black people don't talk like that. "Ass" is an intensifier. In your case it means "really huge." In Zimmerman's, it meant "really creepy."

OT: Expect a major FF to force a narrative shift. Or maybe just fireworks if the good guys manage to nerf it.

@80

It's the damnedest thing I've ever seen. You literally cannot throw a cat in DC without hitting someone that knows/lives with/fucks/or is indebted to the Podestas or the Clintons.

It's like the damned Manson Family writ large.

Turn over a rock, find another crony.

Unbelievable.

"Yes, but you fucking idiots believed in pizzagate bullshit. You're going to be very frustrated by what actually happens. Watch.

You're displaying all the psychological effects that gaslighting/brainwashing produce via public schooling, things like the inability to reason or understand cause and effect, to grasp truth outside the media narrative and an obsequious obedience to pathological "authorities" that culminates in your worship of them. If you were an organization you're convergence would be complete and are therefore completely useless to humanities progress and are actually detrimental to human society just as government is.

@81 While researching something else, I happened to do Wikipedia search for "American Political Dynasties". Now you'd think that since we're a modern representative republic and not the Holy Roman Empire, the term "American Political Dynasty" would be an oxymoron. Turns out that's not the case.

Look it up for yourself when you get the chance, but the Kennedy's and Bushes are just the most successful out of all them.

Call me a kook, but it seems strange that, in a country with over 300 million people, members from the same dozen or so families would consistently obtain high office. One might even go so far as to say the process is influenced, in whole or in part, by elaborate dynastic and cultural ties (like attending Harvard), instead of purely by such quaint things as election results.

The FBI undermined their own credibility when they decided to become the muscle in Liberal politics....which seems to have started (in a big way) with the Federal RICO statute.

Very possibly, the Liberal politicians would not have give a hoot about the Mafia in this country until they were used to drive the Communists out of Labor Unions. The Leftists still resent losing the war for control of the Labor Unions.

A clear case of Obstruction of Justice.

Not if you agree to answer the question with a lawyer present. :)

@86-That sort of thing doesn't surprise me, personally. There's no strict reason why their should have been dynasties in the Roman Republic, for instance, after they got rid of their king. But of course there were. Athens is supposed to be the first democracy (though they weren't stupid enough to leave the most important things, like the military and religion, up to votes), and they had them.

Dynasties are just something humanity has.

Tublecane - I was replying to Coolhand's lament about all the Clinton cronies in D.C. I didn't know post numbers jump around. My point is that when our elections are influenced by dynastic ties it shouldn't come as a surprise that cronyism also abounds. Cronyism and nepotism go hand-in-hand since both are determined by interpersonal bonds rather than merit or ideology.

So I can join the growing chorus of people who believe that the relentless attacks on the bureau undermine not just America’s premier law enforcement agency but also the nation’s security.

Funny. If the FBI is the premier Law Enforcement, then we should get rid of all "law enforcement" altogether. After all, there's plenty of history that indicates that not only is the FBI unaccountable, but that it is lawless:
(1) They were involved with the gun running of Fast and Furious,
(2) They were involved in the Cliven Bundy's gross mistreatment, which the prosecutor tried to hide to such an extent that the case got thrown out,
(3) They were involved with LaVoy Finicum's death, which looked like flat-out murder to me,
(4) which they've done before to Vicky Weaver [Ruby Ridge],
(5) as well with nearly a hundred people [Waco].

Each of these events shows a willingness by the FBI to engage in unlawful behavior, a complete disregard for Justice or moral restraint and, corporately, shows that there are many "great agents" who are willing to help cover up wrongdoing.

Lazarus wrote:And the judiciary is corrupt as well as the populace.
I think the judiciary is more corrupt, and indeed more lawless, than the general population. (Vast swaths of the government apparatuses which are being exposed and shown corrupt are due to their decisions; and never forget that they see themselves as above and superior to the Constitution.)

That's another thing: they have an urge to treat both sides as having equal validity, including whatever SJW BS comes out.

"Fair and Balanced' somehow has come to mean "In a fact-free world"

Why would you give a coot that flaps his arms and says he is flying a 'balanced' platform to argue with an airline pilot about what being in the jetstream is like?
