Mr. Putin is apparently unimpressed

With the threats of British Prime Minister Theresa May

Shot: May threatens MILITARY RESPONSE against Putin after Russian spy 'poisoning'. Theresa May is reportedly drawing up a battle plan against Vladimir Putin after a Russian spy was believed to be targeted on British soil.

Chaser: Russian exile who was close friends with the late oligarch Boris Berezovsky has been found dead in his London home, according to friends. Nikolai Glushkov, 68, was discovered by his family and friends late on Monday night. The cause of death is not yet clear.

It sounds like someone is sending Mrs. May a message. And given the way that May observably can't even manage to stand up to the bureaucrats of the European Union, how on Earth can she imagine that her empty words will impress the popular Russian president?

I have to say that considering how the British government detained and deported three American, Canadian, and Austrian citizens this week, I'd be pretty well pleased to see the God-Emperor publicly tell the British Home Office that they're on their own with regards to any hostilities with Russia.

What is Sharia May going to do, exactly?

Send our one aircraft carrier - that doesn't carry any planes - and its crew of gays, trannies and women to get beaten up/impregnated by some Slav squatters?

Manfred - we have nukes. Which are, of course, singularly useless against Russia in this situation unless we also want them to wipe us out.

The conventional armed forces are an embarrassing shell of what they used to be during the Cold War. But even if we had circa 1958 military manpower and seapower, it still wouldn't do any good here, because nukes.

The Russians killed defectors and double agents in the West from time to time during the Cold War. Nobody freaked out about it and made a fool of themselves with impotent sabre-rattling. This sort of thing, while annoying to the authorities, just isn't that important. Who cares if some dodgy Russian gets whacked by his comrades?

May is crying about Russia because:

* She's a weak, unpopular PM who is failing badly on Brexit

* She wants to talk about anything - anything! - except the systematic rape of little white girls in England by Moslems with the collaboration of the British state.

* Russia is the new bogeyman for every soyfeatured, limp-wristed shitlib in the West and May hopes that the BBC and Guardian might put down their AIDS medication for a moment to applaud her.

I don't think poisoning a couple of people counts as a "WMD attack". Nobody has even died yet.

Bad luck for the policeman, but I assume this means he'll take a break from turning a blind eye to Muslim crimes while arresting people for saying things on Twitter.

Blogger Wynn Lloyd March 13, 2018 2:50 PM

Ah ok. That's an informative breakdown.

So she's trying to look strong, like President Obama did by giving a weak ultimatum to Syria.

Bluffing will not work on Putin, anymore than Obama's pathetic threat did with Syria. Putin no
doubt has come to the same conclusion as most people, and understands that she is not a strong leader, and any military response on her end will be bungled to hell.

It reminds me of that piercing meme from a couple of years ago, which contained a picture of the defense ministers of Sweden, Germany, and Denmark, who were all essentially soccer moms in terms of appearance. Beside that image was the Russian defense minister. He was a grizzled general in an army uniform that looked like it could have been in Command and Conquer: Red Alert.
The contrast was so massive. It was clear that without the USA to defend them, those countries would be massively exposed due to their emphasis on pc instead of military effectiveness.

espionage can be considered, and has previously been used as, casus belli.

therefore, anyone ( who has ) engaged in espionage is a valid military target engaged in acts of war and killing them is no crime.

in Common Law terms, this is where the word "outlaw" arises. an outlaw is literally outside the bounds and protections of the Law and may be killed by anyone for any reason at any time with no consequence.

May is of an old, feeble order. Represents the Queen's land perfectly.

Speaking of Canada, Ontario's PC Party just elected Doug Ford (brother of late Rob Ford) as leader of the party, set to take on imposter Kathleen Wynne in an election later this year.

Bit of history on Wynne: participated in a major scandal to buy seats (canceled a proposed nat gas plant under heavy contract penalties in order to get that community to swing left). She was the Education Minister while then-Premier Dalton McGuinty was going through this scandal. McGuinty resigned and Wynne flew in to scoop up the leadership role and bought off the teachers and nurses unions to win in 2015.

The problem with using something traceable is that you don't get credit. If you're in Moscow and untouchable, and you want to intimidate people in the West, the last thing you want is to kill a defector and get away with it.

Ok, this is Pravda, but check the logic:

It is worthy of note that the leaders of the intelligence services stick to the unwritten code of immunity in relation to disclosed agents's family members.

Nikolai Kovalev, former chief of the Federal Security Bureau, said that there are such verbal agreements and unwritten laws that virtually all intelligence services of the world follow indeed.

"Intelligence officer's family is inviolable, because if one starts acting through one's wife or children, this process will become irreversible and it can turn into blood feud," Kovalev said. The same principles apply to the agents who have been exchanged, Kovalev added.

"Sergei Skripal was convicted 12 years ago, and it just so happens that Russia had to wait for 12 years to do it on the eve of the presidential election. Turn the logic on, guys. In this case, the logic is simply missing," said Kovalev.

This. There isn't a chance in hell Russia could survive a conflict with a serious and competent west (heck, not even a serious and bumbling west) conventionally, and the only real reason NATO hasn't done what Hitler failed to do and kick down the door hard enough that the whole rotten structure collapses is their nuclear stockpile. Russia, of course, realizes this, hence why, among other things, they had to cause quite a ruckus in the Ukraine just like the West was doing out of fear they would lose Sevastopol, which is one of their only warm water ports, if not their only warm water port. I mean, for fuck's sake, within the first few hours of a serious war with NATO, Russia if nothing else, is gonna lose hard in a conventional war of attrition because the Baltic sea is gonna be closed down, the Black Sea is gonna be closed down, the Russian far east still remains an under developed mess not worth much compared to everything before the Urals and even then the US has a considerably naval presence in the pacific that would quickly overwhelm the area, and the ports on the arctic ocean are frozen half the year, though NATO troops in Norway would shut that shit down too.

True. And that is the entire point of this exercise. It tells any potential defectors-in-place that the UK is a free-fire zone, that Her Majesty's Government cannot protect them. Trust me, MI6 ain't getting any sources any time soon in the Russian Federation.

However, the downside is that these antics are crowding dangerously on Article V of the North Atlantic Treaty.

Who would have a motive to violate those rules, if they thought they could deflect the blame onto Putin?

Irrelevant. Putin's eating the entire blame, because this agent is only manufactured by the government of the Russian Federation, Would you really excuse the United States if some goat-fornicators managed to come up with a US nuclear weapon and set the thing off in Moscow? I sure as hell wouldn't. Lethal hardware needs to be properly secured.

Y'know, given the extremely poor stockpile security that has been shown to date in the armed forces of the Russian Federation, wouldn't it be a pure tragedy if some Russian-flavored Instant Sunshine (aka Star-in-a-Can) just happened to fall into the hands of a suicidal band of Chechens, who proceed to set it off next to SVR HQ in Yasenevo?

That would school Putin as to why things work on a starship...

Ken Prescott, Putin is not going to get spanked. Who is going to spank him? He has consistently run circles around Western governments when it comes to taking a fairly bad hand and playing it pretty well.

You're right about the "rules" not exactly being followed here. But turn about is fair play and the correct response is identify a British subject who is working with the Russians and terminate them with very clear MI6 fingerprints on the job.

That signals to everyone that you know that the stakes of the game have changed and you can match the tempo.

But you don't do what May did which is threaten military action because you have no where to escalate to and also no way to back down without losing credibility. She was stupid to have done that.

@74 Putin's eating the entire blame, because this agent is only manufactured by the government of the Russian Federation...

That's an absurd claim. These agents can be manufactured by practically anyone, and this is even more true of tiny quantities. Assuming it was indeed a Novichok agent (which is by no means established beyond dispute), by its very nature a binary chemical weapon is designed such that the individual components are safe to manufacture and store.

what? in? the? fuck? are you on about?

you don't have the amphibious capability necessary to cross the Channel and invade the Surrender Monkeys, how the hell are you going to invade any Russian territory?

and it's Russia. in the winter. that's world renowned as one of the Great Strategic Blunders.

I say let them do it. And let them do it alone.

The problem with using something traceable is that you don't get credit. If you're in Moscow and untouchable, and you want to intimidate people in the West, the last thing you want is to kill a defector and get away with it.

Untouchable in Moscow? You're basically call VP an idiot who can't think more than 1 move ahead.

This didn't intimate anyone and the Russians are astute enough to know that before hand. Wait 12 years to kill a guy because... You who isn't astute? People who by this horse shit.

@55: My guess would be that they want everyone to know that they did it while still maintaining a patina of deniability. The soviets did that back in the day, and Putin was trained in that era.

Why? I have yet to hear a plausible reason Putin would do this.

Try to put yourself in Putins shoes. You know elements of the west want to go to war with you. You the American shadow government is blaming you for Trumps election. You know that (((media))) all over the world is pushing anti Russian propaganda. You know that the NWO is sees your nation as an obstacle to their goals.

Why? Why would he do this now?

Putin is intelligent enough to know that there will be know zero deniability. The only reason why I can see him doing something so obvious and hamfisted is to make the world think he is a victim of a false flag.

query:
IF use of nuclear weapons ( and certainly a declaration of war ) would be on the table
THEN why would Russia not consider the same response to be valid?

Russia also revised its nuclear doctrine some years ago to allow nuclear first strike.

Russia ( AKA the Soviet Union ) spent the '70 assisting the IRA to smuggle guns and munitions into Northern Ireland ( probably via the Republic ).

Why is it necessary for them to concoct some exotic nerve agent, when a bullet to the head at close range on a dark night would do the trick?

I am reminded of the 2002 Wood Green ( London ) Ricin plot farce, one of the central charges was that -" police find 22 castor oil beans - the raw material for the poison ricin - in a flat at 352B High Road, Wood Green, London".

That ensuing trial collapsed, if I recall correctly.

"if your people make a botch of it and leave your fingerprints all over the event, take your lumps like a man.

Putin's going to get spanked. The only question is how hard, and which paddle."

I don't think you understand. You don't use exotic and special poisons that are easily recognized if you don't wish to be caught. You use those types of things when you want to send a message.

If you just want someone quietly dead on the other hand, those types of tools have been around for over forty years.

The wiki doesn't mention it, but the toxin in question also breaks down into common chemicals found in corpses, and does so in a handful of hours or less.

Blogger Azure Amaranthine March 14, 2018 6:15 AM

And no, I'm not saying that Putin was sending a message. It seems just about as likely that someone else was trying to provoke or frame something, or just do a "look at this hand over here!" while they do something truly dastardly with the other one.

@52 Stg58/Animal Mother

Ewwee! Mr. "Animal Mother" (what a "name", eh? lol), you need to "wash your mouth with all that crap you're spewing. People might actually take you seriously afterwards. Ha...

@54. BassmanCO

"Jed Mask, you come to someone else's site and insult their use of vernacular and naming conventions? If you don't like it, you can get out. Douchebag."

Yeeks man, chillax LOL. And if anyone's really "insulting" here it's *YOU*! You don't know "Mr. Vox" like I know "Mr. Vox": he calls himself a "Christian" buts worships "men" calling them such prestigious titles.

And I wasn't talking to you to begin with and you the one "butted" in Mr. Bassman.

Calling me a "douchebag" doesn't really help your case... Just sayin'. :/

@62. markstoval

"Vox Day may be many things, but you Jed Mask, are an asshat."

No need to call me "that name" Mr. Mark. If you disagree with what I've said you disagree; but you be the one who actually went the route of being that term you described me as.

@63. VD

"Go away, Jed Mask."

Well sure, yeah, I can do that if you insist.

I just like stopping by on your blogs occasionally to see your developments and happenings is all.

Don't really mean to "offend you personally": I thought you had "tougher skin" than that if you actually took offense lol.

You act all "bad" like you somebody every other time and now I'm the one "getting on your nerves"?

Can't "take the heat" eh?

Sure I'll leave. You too easy anyway brother "Vox" lol. Amen.
