Chicago Typewriter: Gold Logo edition

Chicago Typewriter is now in print and is already available from Castalia Books Direct! It is 60 pages and printed in Dark Legion's premium 10x7 format, and retails for $7.99. If you buy one of the first 2,500 copies, you will receive a Gold Logo edition, as shown on the image here.

In 1920s Chicago, the criminal underworld is more than vice, racketeering, and bootlegging.

During a brutal territory dispute with the Chicago Outfit, Emilio Enzo and his associates discovered just how deeply involved the criminal underworld is in the occult and supernatural. Using hidden pathways to our world, forces of pure evil have worked in secret to maintain their dark stronghold on the city. Now those forces are back to take their revenge on the one man willing to challenge their reign by stealing the soul of his girlfriend Kat.

While visiting an old shop full of oddities, Emilio comes across an antique ribbon for a typewriter with an unusual history. And after bringing the strange red ribbon home and spooling it into his machine, he is startled when it begins to communicate with him at night....

1920s Prohibition-era Chicago collides with the hidden world in this debut graphic novel from Brandon Fiadino.

You can see all four Arkhaven and Dark Legion Comics currently available in print here. The gold Logo edition of Chicago Typewriter should be available via Amazon soon.

@VD - "Aerio does not sell this book in your area, but please check for availability at your local bookstore."

I understand that France isn't a high priority market for English language comics, but... I'd still like to buy it...

Sadly, I already put an order in for some print things, and now I must wait for more print editions to accumulate in order to minimax shipping costs.

"Aerio does not sell this book in your area, but please check for availability at your local bookstore."

Is it likely that these can be ordered at the local bookstore if the above message appears? It seems from the aer.io that the above is simply due to aer.io not servicing beyond US/Canada rather than copyright issues coming into play.

Will check when next in town.

With the exception of Jeeves, almost certainly.

Go to your local bookstore and order it through them. If they have an account with Ingram, you're all set.

I'm in. Needed a copy of this and QM#1 to go with my Alt-Hero and Calligan books.

Will be cool to show to my grandkids and tell them all about how I was there when Arkhaven first began.

Like buying an original Spiderman #1 off the news stand when it was current, but 100% less emo.

If you are a beginning collector this one is a buy.

Yes, these things are speculative but the guaranteed limited run as well as the immediate first run identifier will help with the collector's market.

Don't get me wrong this is never going to be Action Comics #1 but it IS going to go up in value.

Buy it and bag it immediately. If you want to read it, then get the Kindle version.

@7 Cataline last time somebody urged me to buy a first edition comic it was a ridiculous black and white thing about some turtles. Totally stupid. "I got five I can put in Mylar for you, great condition. It's going to be the hottest thing ever."

I was too smart for him. I wonder whatever happened to those turtles....

*groan* It could be so...so...so much worse. I sold my copy in 1988 for the king's ransom of $80.00 plus store credit.

I read this in Kindle Edition, and it certainly reminded me of the better comics when I was from 8-12 years old. After I was 8, I read fewer comics (read books instead), but "Chicago Typewriter" would have still attracted me.

@9 Honestly, it's not that much of a heartbreaker.

The truth is that it was a pretty good deal on both sides.

It was the second run and the condition was leaning more towards F than VF.

I got AD&D Oriental Adventures, The Kara-Tur expansion box, quite a few modules, MM II and as a sweetner that store's entire (used) collection of Ace Books Destinies (which was all of them), the Baen; New Destinies (the ones I didn't have) and every issue of There Will Be War (at least as published at that time. I don't think that series was done yet. Guns of Darkness is last one I have in paperback)

The Comic Book Guy that ran the store (1.) REALLY wanted a TMNT #1 to hang on his halo wall. The fact that he put a $250.00 price tag on it proves he wasn't serious about selling it. And (2.) he was getting out the used SF books business anyway. The only thing anybody ever wanted for them $0.50 plus store credit and store credit was killing him. I'm pretty sure the SC accounted for his entire profit margin.

If I had sat on it and ebayed it out today, I would have enough money for a three year old Ford Fiesta. No thanks.

Back then I didn't have a pot to piss in, so it was great deal for me.
