Twitter Purgatory

Twitter has taken the Twitter Jail concept one step further:
Are you the sort of person who annoys, frustrates, and offends lots of people on Twitter—but manages to avoid technically violating any of its policies on abuse or hate speech? Then Twitter’s newest feature is for you. Or, rather, it’s for everyone else but you.

Twitter is announcing on Tuesday that it will begin hiding tweets from certain accounts in conversations and search results. To see them, you’ll have to scroll to the bottom of the conversation and click “Show more replies,” or go into your search settings and choose “See everything.” Think of them as Twitter’s equivalent of the Yelp reviews that are “not currently recommended” or the Reddit comments that have a “comment score below threshold.”

But there’s one difference: When Twitter’s software decides that a certain user is “detract[ing] from the conversation,” all of that user’s tweets will be hidden from search results and public conversations until their reputation improves. And they won’t know that they’re being muted in this way; Twitter says it’s still working on ways to notify people and help them get back into its good graces. In the meantime, their tweets will still be visible to their followers as usual and will still be able to be retweeted by others. They just won’t show up in conversational threads or search results by default.
I'd pretend that I care, but they suspended me for good back in November. Of course, it's just a matter of time for most of the rest of you. In the meantime, give Idka a try; many of the Daily Meme Wars memes are posted there on a regular basis.

How do they expect people to get "back in their good graces" if nobody can see what they post? Seems self-perpetuating. Not that there's any good reason whatsoever to be on Twitter: the worst product of internet technology ever.

" And they won’t know that they’re being muted in this way; Twitter says it’s still working on ways to notify people and help them get back into its good graces."

Yeah, right.
We wrote the code to mute you, but we don't know how to insert a section to notify you in the "mute code" to inform you that you've been silenced.

Only a complete idiot would buy their excuse.

It is long past time that these companies, whose systems have been (probably) used in crimes, either be charged as accessories, or that they be declared common carriers, and lose ALL rights of censorship.

Common carrier law states that if you inspect ANY communication, then you are RESPONSIBLE for ALL communication that you carry. Therefore, to avoid being responsible for any such communication, the only defense is to not inspect any communication on your network.

I was suspended by one of the (((tribe))) no less. My crime: criticizing the ADL trolling for the alt-right as a Nazi masquerading as a Jew.

Awww well ...you know what they say ...Arbeit macht frei!

Eh. After they killed my 2nd twitter account I left them for good.
The Deplatforming will continue and all the courts and govt agencies will not save you

If the President and QAnon weren't using Twitter to sideline the MSM it could die tomorrow and wouldn't be missed.

Right now it, and a few blogs are the only news worth reading.

The irony is twitter is trying to be the new fake lamestream, while being used by the only team trying to be the Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing bu the Truth.

Seth Rich remembered.

Am I the only one that finds IDKA frustrating to use?

Blogger Dire Badger May 17, 2018 8:34 PM

Don't tell my mom I work for Twitter- She thinks I pimp out 6 year old boys to Muslim immigrants. If she found out the truth I'd die of shame.

"Twitmo", still laughing on that one, h/t SB.

Tw-Tar like wiki to FAGS are techo gulags and epic embarrassments as business models. Fail.

How is this even new? They have been doing this for months. I guess they are just expanding the program....

Blogger Mr. Deficient May 17, 2018 8:59 PM

OT: Your JBP UN post was featured in a sargon of akkad (classical liberal soyboy) video and was intentionally misrepresented. It was then defended by JF Garipey on his show the public space. I realise you are far to busy to watch videos on youtube but it is where alot of the alt right battles are happening and thought you should be informed.

Btw, alot of alt righters are making a decent ammount of money from donations that are called super chats and recently youtube defended these very non politically correct super chats. Many channels are becoming sustainable even with videos in the 10k viewer rangge.

No matter how many times people tell you your old man memes aren't effective, you keep going with them. It's unbelievable.

@6

"Am I the only one that finds IDKA frustrating to use?"

Nope. Interface is definitely confusing. After 2 hours, I couldn't figure out how to make contact with anyone else. Gave up.
Would be nice if there were some sort of FAQ or tipsheet.

@3 The fate of the MAGA Jews looks stickier every day. Between the swastika panty crew, the left wing pervs determined to chain all of Jewry to their politics, and your conservative "allies", things don't look good for you.

I know. Just a female with her sads. I have to get better, find a new gun range and start getting the yard ape up to speed.

When Twitters software decides a person is detracting from the conversation.

Newspeak for we censor badthink.

Blogger Avalanche May 17, 2018 9:47 PM

@13 "a person is detracting from the conversation."

Uh, shouldn't that decision be up to the OTHER people in the "conversation" and can't they ALREADY block someone they don't want to have a conversation with? Like, if someone at a cocktail party is annoying, you STOP talking with them. You don't expect the Spanish Inquisition to come swooping in and remove them before you've even gotten tired of their conversation?

Blogger Dirk Manly May 17, 2018 9:51 PM

@14

"Uh, shouldn't that decision be up to the OTHER people in the "conversation" and can't they ALREADY block someone they don't want to have a conversation with?"

That's not feminist enough.

Feminism demands that a woman should be able to shut down ALL communication which she doesn't like, even if she doesn't even know it's happening.

Hence shadowbanning.

Whatever happened to the Gab lawsuit? Have the swastika panty crowd stopped crapping all over the place?

Blogger Brick Hardslab May 17, 2018 10:05 PM

@Dire Badger, Just tell your mom that you only work for twitter on 'Mohammad can't see us Thursdays" when the Muslims don't need to hide their depravities. It'll lessen the shock and disappointment.

Blogger Cecil Henry May 17, 2018 10:24 PM

@17: Yes that's exactly what it is and its the same mentality.

Every authoritarian state or organization always begins by silencing all criticism of its doctrine but it's never just to be mean.

It ALWAYS gives a 'Reason'.

Never was a regular tweeter. Didn't seethe point, considering it was always only a matter of time before I was suspended or was shouting into an empty void. Plus, I just don't like those places. I have never Facebooked.

When I am using it, hey ask me if I'm a robot basically every day. Suspended for 12 hours at time incessantly. If I get a week, I sink the account and make a new one.

I've rebuilt followings I think maybe four times. It's the cost of using Twitter for a person like me. Who frankly isn't that much of a crimethinker. Though I am combative.

Funny enough, one account they never suspend is my parody SJW account.

Blogger tublecane May 18, 2018 12:38 AM

This policy reminds me of McCain-Feingold It benefits the "incumbents," i.e. blue checkmark, at the expense of rogue elements.

It also helps leftists, who have less of a life and time to burn swarming people all day long.

Blogger Br'er Shaygetz May 18, 2018 12:42 AM

Silence...we ban you....

Blogger tublecane May 18, 2018 12:44 AM

@9- It's kinda like some people's response to the Snowden revelations: "I could swear we already knew this."

Yeah, but you didn't know it was called "Prism."

Or like when a political campaign officially announces itself after it's been campaigning for six months. This is official PR to explain what they're already doing.

"Please, powers that be, don't blame us for Trump like you are Facebook. (Indirectly.) See, we're isolating the viruses."

Twitter cannot hold a candle compared to Donkbook: Zuckerkike has seriously stepped up his efforts since the Congressional dog and pony show to turn "sit-on-my-Face"book into a gynocentric, SJWhiner$-only, circle-jerk club. Twitter has been isolating & marginalizing anyone not leftist for a while now...as in YES, "Your tweet has posted" but no one will ever see it but you.
At least they are finally fessing up about it.

Blogger Don't Call Me Len May 18, 2018 3:23 AM

@13 - If only they put even that much effort into this. As is, it's merely mob rule: whoever can mobilize enough "allies" into blocking a specific user has the ability to disappear you.

The Twittard "coding" team put together an algo that simply measures how often you're blocked, and hey presto, you're gone. It should come as no surprise that the barely literate apes that came up with such a 'solution' can't figure out a way to inform you that you're being shunned, even if they were so inclined.

Blogger English Tom May 18, 2018 6:58 AM

I'm on there a lot, and I don't see them very much now. But I have muted dozens of them. Mute is a nice feature.

I suppose if someone brand new joins Gab they might see all kinds of crazy before putting the mute button to work.

Blogger Were-Puppy May 18, 2018 12:24 PM

Did you guys see that Project Veritas infiltration of Twitter a while back?

Twitter is basically run by sh!tholers who sit in a bar jiggling with an umbrella drinks while gloating about how they silence American citizens.

There are a couple of resources. This video takes the user through the basic features and functionality of the platform. http://bit.ly/2IOqEdN

Additionally, if you go to the search bar and find the open group, “All About Idka,“ you will be able to post feedback and ask questions. Anyone can join, and response is usually quite quick.

Included in this Idka group, as in any group, you will find group files. There, you can view video and files designed to guide you through the various functionality of Idka.

Let me know if there are any specific questions and I will ask my contact there.
