Freestartr-Stripe update

I've spoken to several of the individuals involved and I have been told that Freestartr expects to have the situation resolved within a week or so. My understanding - and it is only that - is that they started working on a replacement since they were originally informed there was going to be a problem, but Stripe suddenly moved up the timing on them without warning. Freestartr was also informed that the action was at the insistence of a certain financial partner, but the claim was subsequently determined to be false.

So, there appears to be no reason to alter anything in order to ensure the continued support for Voxiversity and the Darkstream. But if my information is incorrect and we need to do something different, I already have a backup plan lined up. Regardless, if you're a backer and you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.

Small favors, I suppose.

What does your almighty gut say, O Dark One?

>"FreeStartr will be filing a lawsuit against the founders of Stripe, Patrick and John Collison in regard to this loss of business."

Seems like they're going the safe route of demanding compensation for pre-mature contract recision.

Though this is not specific enough a statement to know if they're going after something more such as Unrah violations or banking regs.

Those decisions can be made after discovery. If they have a clear violation of contract, getting discovery for the other violations will be easy.

This is good news. I'm sure freestartr will be back up and running soon. Any updates on the Will Caligan's comics?

I have to admit, "lolbergtardian" is an amusing coinage. This guy should write SubGenius tracts.

Good to know - thanks for the update, Vox.

Any updates on the Will Caligan's comics?

Will is out of the hospital and I'm hoping that he can get back to drawing soon.

Aack! I didn't know he was sick in the hospital! I'm happy to hear he's home and on the mend. Definitely glad to have supported the freestartr. Excellent investment in talent.

SPLC appears to be involved in this too, and PJMedia is reporting 60 organizations are considering lawsuits against SPLC after their recent settlement with Maajid Nawaz.

I was saying they'd make a nice scalp. I would love to get my wish.
