Better late than too late

The European nations are finally getting around to shielding their soft southern underbelly, fortunately before the coming African overpopulation crisis gets completely out of hand:
Europe will shut its southern doors to migrants under plans to be discussed by Germany, Austria and Italy next week, it has emerged. Germany's hardline Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said talks would take place between the three nations on how to close the Mediterranean route into the EU. His announcement comes after a meeting with Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and amid plans being considered by Germany's government for new immigration measures at their shared border.
It's a good first step. The second step will be to launch Salvini's quarter-by-quarter repatriations. Preferably on a continent-wide scale.

Smells like a delaying tactic till Seehoffer can be bought off w/some bribe for Bavaria or other. I don't know the man or his integrity, and I know Merkel who is a backroom deal charlatan.

Sort of ironic that "Seehoffer", whose name I believe translates to "lake steward" is the guy closing the water route to Europe.

Europe will survive, the European Union not so much. I suspect that unofficial European resistance to the invasion has been much more pronounced than the news media reports.

Sadly the United States of America is in much worse shape.

But how could it not be.

From its founding, the USA has had too much diversity. Now we are rapidly approaching the end game.

I wonder, if what rises from the USA's ashes will be something like a Europe of the Western Hemisphere.

They've finally grasped the obvious. Took them much longer than I thought it would. It appears to me that some of Europe's "leaders" are intent on promoting the destruction of Europe, or at least turning it into another collection of 3rd world hellholes. You can't run a civil society if you are elbow deep in uncivil retards.

Let's not forget a complete listing of every crime perpetrated, with all victims coming forward and addressing the leaders directly. Then compensation (billions of Euros) talks.

Where Seehofer is concerned, I would mostly expect smoke and mirrors. He has no balls, or if he has them, Merkel keeps them in a jar in her nightstand.

My hope is that the Italiens mean business. And by business I don't mean "moa monney!" but actually thinking long term. Because we really can't afford any European nation going Islamic, not even Sweden. Certainly not France, or Germany.

These boats are most certainly financed by outsiders (Soros), I checked some of their websites, they don't have much information on there, nothing that would convince anyone to donate.

That's what I've come to understand and accept, more and more. It would seem to have been doomed from the beginning.

The whole dynamics of this big new land, full of resources and opportunity, was just not going to settle into a very long term stable place. Other timelines, where the states remained sovereign, etc. would have been rife with their own problems. International meddling, power struggles, you name it.

The idea that the U.S. could have remained that noble republic as established is utopian. We all have to accept this basic truth. (Although I will humbly accept that I have probably not explicated this very well.)

Even if a “only” quarter of them flee, which is roughly equal to the percentage that left Syria, that’s still more than 125 million people (the combined population of France and Italy), many of whom will probably succeed in at least making it to Africa’s Mediterranean shoreline. The forward deployment of Western military forces in the region, whether publicly marketed to be on an anti-migration basis or otherwise, can only do so much to stem the tide, and a comprehensive policy involving Mediterranean naval units will have to be fully coordinated with the “frontline states” of Spain, France, Italy, Malta, and Greece if Europe is to stave off this civilizational onslaught

The US and EU have the same type of problem, invasion by oiutsiders, but with very different dynamics.

The US doesnt face a massive second wave such as Europe does. Yes the US has a greater # of invaders to deal with and more cross-breeding to complicated matters, but a large % of that diversity is urban which makes it easier to address when t hings get "sporty"

Neither the US or Europe will have it easy when the clean up starts, both will pay a heavy price

How do the European nations intend to accomplish this? I suggest they open up the playbook from the 15th and 16th centuries and lookup Ceuta, Melilla and others...

It would be good for Europeans to establish bridgeheads in North Africa. Most likely locale would be Libya, because it is hardly a functioning nation (thanks Hillary, thanks Obama). Any boats caught would be towed to the enclave, the boat destroyed, the migrants given provisions for a few days and pushed out the southern gate. The migration/invasion problem would solve itself quickly.

Its the soft heart thats the problem. They wont stop coming until the price for attempting is high enough such that its safer for them to stay home in the first place.... sink the ships, collect the occupants of 1 life raft, have them stand on the deck as you strafe all the remaining life boats, then kindly drop the observers off at the Libyan coast.

If they don't start sending them back, then Europe will be the same shit hole that Africa is and the Africans will over breed there also. At some point the famine would be world wide.

I was thinking the other day that when the Titanic went under many people did not get on the lifeboats because they could only handle so many people. If all the lifeboats were overloaded then everyone would have died.

The Africans must be contained to Africa and we must stop helping them.

Every war has been about the Elites pitting one set of their slave's young men against the young men of the slaves of the other side.

Kind of like football, only without the payday.

Do you think the children of the elites would risk their far more valuable lives on something as chaotic as a battlefield? Hell no.

Although some of them will virtue signal by going to officer's training so they can sit around and hobnob with the other officers and critique their team's performance.

Something like that. The optimal percentage of survivors is an empirical question. We should probably randomize the number strafed after each sinking.

What Algeria wants is to stop having to bear the expense of deporting people. Making the deportation as cruel as legally possible, causing heavy loss of life, guarantees that once these deportees make it back home, the survivors' tales of death for most, and Suffering in the Sahara Desert without food or water is going to deter a great many people... maybe enough to stop the flood.

George S. Patton, Jr.
Conducted the very first armored vehicle action in 1914, under Gen. Pershing, in Mexico, against Poncho Villa's forces.
Commandant of the first U.S. Armored warfare school, in France. Started as a company, grew to battalion, then regiment, then brigade sized, and Patton was correspondingly promoted to captain, major, and lieutenant colonel.
Patton then lead the U.S. Army's first tank attack... ON FOOT. Got shot in the pelvis by a machine gun less than 2 hours into it.
Stayed in... as officer slots diminished, a lot of down-grading went on... reduced to captain... stayed in.

Oh, and I met his grandson in Saudi Arabia in 1991.

@40: Two examples come to mind quite easily: JFK and Teddy Roosevelt's boy

And Joe Kennedy Jr. He was killed when his plane blew up. He had volunteered for an attack on the German U-boat pens, which were very heavily reinforced, and difficult to damage with conventional bombs.

So they packed bombers with over 10 tons of explosives, and tried to use them as suicide drones. Their rudimentary radio control mechanism was entirely inadequate to manage takeoff, so the plan was to have the crew parachute out once the aircraft was in level flight near the coast.

Takeoff was uneventful, they armed the bomb as planned, and it exploded a minute or so later -- well before they were scheduled to bail out. No cause
for the early detonation was ever established.

FDR's son Elliott was the commander of the squadron that was observing Kennedy's plane when it exploded.

Plenty of people disagree with Jared Diamond, but his "Collapse" makes a good point: societies collapse when the elites insulate themselves from the problems of the commons. The French revolution was as much as by anything caused not by the nobility not caring that the peasants were starving, but by their not even knowing it.

Blogger Dirk Manly July 06, 2018 2:53 PM

Blogger Dirk Manly July 06, 2018 2:56 PM

And why WERE the French Peasants starving?

Literally, because the French government had embarked on a Ricardo-style "free trade" policy.

The British did the same thing in 1760. It was their Free Trade policies, not the debt from the Seven Years' War which sparked the Corn Riots, causing Parliament to start laying taxes on people who weren't even in their legal jurisdiction, and thus causing the American War for Independence.
