Driving them to drink

The mere thought of facing the God-Emperor had the unelected sham "leader" of the European Commission needing Dutch courage:
The European Union leader was stumbling so much that world leaders including the presidents of Finland and Ukraine, and the Dutch Prime Minister, were forced to hold him up.

Footage from the summit shows the 63-year-old being held up as he makes his way down the stairs. But as Mr Juncker attempts to walk he stumbles backwards and loses his balance once again. The European Commission President then had to be held at the arm in an effort to steady himself.

Prime Minister Theresa May walked past Mr Juncker and grinned, seemingly unaware that the European Commission President was struggling to stand unaided.

Mr Juncker was attending a gala at the Nato summit in Brussels attended by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
Remember when Hillary couldn't even manage to walk straight during the U.S. presidential campaign? I'm noticing an interesting pattern here.

Or perhaps the wicked are overwhelmed by experiencing the glory of his majesty's presence.

I’m afraid the most insightful and deep comment I can make on this is:

Junker is well known to be heavy drinker. All of Luxembourg knows this to be true. The added stress of a visiting GE makes his drinking worse for sure.

Blogger Mandos July 13, 2018 6:09 AM

Yeah, the EU is led by a notorious drunkard with temper issues. What could go wrong.

"Is a Coming NATO Crisis Inevitable?" By Patrick J. Buchanan

"Brussels may dismiss this as typical Trumpian bluster, but my sense is that Trump is not bluffing. He is visibly losing patience."

As usual Pat is asking the right questions. After all, what in the hell is NATO for anyway. We should have the army on the USA southern border protecting the USA from the ongoing invasion.

Instead, we are helping NATO prevent an invasion by the USSR. (what are the odds of that?)

Juncker being drunk is just the norm. However it would not surprise if the GEOTUS made him consider that fourth bottle of wine at lunch. Even veterans at the trough have their limits.

Belgian media is spinning it as if poor old Junker had some backache.
I guess that's why you see him smiling in the video...

The evil will react to God's warriors. With a nation actively praying for him, the GE may have sincerely cleaned up his act and seriously gotten right with Jesus. It only makes sense the wicked would recoil.
Many men shrink on the world stage. Now men shrink before the GE on the world stage. Cowards who fret over the acceptable phrasing of their public utterances have to be fretting as they approach, "What kind of shitstorm is about to rain down upon me now?"

Anonymous Anonymous July 13, 2018 7:49 AM

I think Anonymous Conservative would have some interesting thoughts on this. Amygdala hijack, and all that.

This is just too much fun.

@12- Booze palliates back pain, doesn't it?

Who knows, maybe he mixed pharmaceuticals and drink.

Blogger tublecane July 13, 2018 8:05 AM

I keep asking people on Twitter and elsewhere what NATO is for. They can't tell me.

It's just sort of there. Except for the people who materially benefit from it. But they won't admit that's its reason for being.

Blogger CarpeOro July 13, 2018 8:25 AM

One reason among many I don't drink Jägermeister. Going around drunk and stupid is no way to misrule a bureaucratic empire bub. Or then again, maybe it is.

Blogger Amy July 13, 2018 8:42 AM

I though “fat, drunk, and stupid” was no way to go through life.

Blogger CarpeOro July 13, 2018 8:59 AM

I didn't have time to verify the fat part.

Blogger Dire Badger July 13, 2018 9:12 AM

NATO is a military alliance designed to Keep Joseph Stalin from Conquering the world for the Soviet Union.

But you know what they say about government Organizations. The moment they cease to be useful they turn all of their energies to preserving their own existence.

Blogger Stilicho July 13, 2018 10:33 AM

Interesting pattern indeed. If it continues to crop up, it may give us some clues as to cause: amygdala hijack, fear of cabal blackmail being triggered (or released by Trump if he's obtained a copy, fear of embarrassment, lack of ability to cope with actual competition/opposition, etc. Right now I suspect a bit of each combining into an amygdala hijack that they quell with booze and drugs.

Blogger Jack Amok July 13, 2018 10:51 AM

I didn't have time to verify the fat part.

Junker isn't fat, but the landwhale in the red vest ahead of him makes up for three or four Junkers.

Shouldn't there be someone on his staff who steers him out public view when he's like that?

Blogger SciVo July 13, 2018 12:45 PM

Jack Amok wrote:Shouldn't there be someone on his staff who steers him out public view when he's like that?

Probably. And at a certain point of inebriation, a drunkard would just snap at them and literally shrug them off. And eventually, unless he re-ordered them to while sober, they would stop trying to save him from himself.

I also read yesterday that the old fart fast-tracked his assistant into a key position.

This assistant is the grandson of a Nazi officer.

How many generations should we punish a family for the sin of serving their Nation?

Blogger Johnny Reb July 13, 2018 4:05 PM

Totally agree. My great, great great grandfather fought alongside Jackson. Family still has a handwritten letter from him to my grandad. He owned two slaves as well. Am I to be punished as well? There's enough of that in this world. Come on man, that's beneath an Ilk.

Drunk being relative and I would know. Sounds like dude needs help and I don't rejoice in that. However looks like the GE may have triggered him and that makes me chuckle. Die EU DIE! So much winning.

Blogger damaris.tighe July 13, 2018 9:21 PM

Zero. There is no USSR. Not anymore.
