May's soft exit sellout

To absolutely no one's surprise, Teresa May tried to sell out her nation to the EU despite the clear results of the Brexit referendum. Her cabinet is falling apart and so should her Prime Ministership in very short order.
David Davis QUITS in protest at Theresa May’s soft Brexit plans leaving government in chaos.

He walked out 48 hours after the PM’s crunch Chequers summit - which culminated in Mr Davis and six other Brexiteer Cabinet ministers losing their two-year battle for a clean break from Brussels.

Allies of Mr Davis said he decided to quit because he felt the PM’s proposals for a common rulebook with the EU and plans to keep Britain tied to 40 years of EU laws broke the Tory manifesto and Mrs May’s own red lines on leaving.

Brexit Office minister Steve Baker also quit last night. His ministerial colleague Suella Braverman was said to also be considering her position.

Sarah O’Grady, wife of Mr Davis's chief of staff Stewart Jackson, said Mr Davis wanted to “honour manifesto promises to Britons”.

She added: “DD decided he couldn’t sellout his own country.”
I'm no expert on British politics, but I expect Boris Johnson to follow suit soon, at which point May's Tory government should collapse. That's why May should never have been permitted to serve as Prime Minister in the first place.

May actually showed the plans to Angela Merkel before her own cabinet. She's done. Both May and Merkel must go, for the good of their respective nations.

Britain is cucked enough that there would be a very low chance of Brits doing anything about the many failings of their political class, but the more those politicians and bureaucrats try to fuck them over unnecessarily, the higher chance The British people actually do something about it .

Speaking of which is it the Anglosphere's belief in the individual and lack of national identity which causes us to be the most screwed of any European peoples ? You talk about the issues with America and I agree but the issues in Canada for example seem even worse.

Damn right May needs to go.

Pleased to see that some English cabinet members will resign in protest over the selling out their country.

It would be nice to see that in these United States.

No more childless decision-makers, and that goes double for women. Their instincts are entirely contrary to national survival, tending toward oikomisia (the dark side of xenophilia). If they have well-adjusted bio kids, it's a sign that they're physically and emotionally healthy enough to propagate their own kind. Even then it isn't a sure thing, so it's crazy to take a chance on a would-be leader without even that microscale evidence of inclination and ability to nurture national success.

The Queen

Queen Elizabeth II: The Queen is the official Head of State. Britain has a constitutional monarchy where the Queen only rules symbolically; in reality, power belongs to Parliament. So, although the Queen 'opens' Parliament each year and laws are passed in her name, the Queen herself plays no part in determining decisions made in Parliament.

The Queen has the final say on whether a bill becomes law.
The last Monarch to reject a law that was wanted by both Houses of Parliament was Queen Anne. She died in 1715.

My Queen has missed a recent appointment due to ill health.

The officials have rehearsed protocol for her death recently.

Some have said she is already expired.

The timing of all this is gafuffle extraordinary

the Royalty CHOOSING not to utilize their own unilateral veto power does not mean that they cannot or do not have any influence over Bills being considered by Parliament.

Because they feel it is about them. They can never see the big picture or analyse events without imagining their ego intrinsically involved.

The moment May announced she was calling a snap election it became clear she was determined to lose and looking for a way to do so.

And that's all we've seen since.

As someone who did not support Brexit before the referendum, May should never have become PM. It seemed like there were shenanigans going on at the time to keep Johnson from running for the PM spot after Brexit won, he was the initial favorite to win the job but declined to run.

Blogger pdwalker July 08, 2018 10:37 PM

Is there anyone who can take up the leadership and go with an immediate, hard brexit?

This also shows the difference between populists/nationalists on one side, and establishment conservatives on the other.

A populist/nationalist would have pushed for a hard Brexit. Also, a populist/nationalist government would have pardoned Tommy Robinson by now. Pardons have been issued in the UK before, you can look it up on InfoGalactic. Also a populist/nationalist government would press for robust freedom of speech, and cracked down on real crime.

She needed to go at the snap election. Chronically weak as a politician, she has failed to grasp that the UK has a strong hand but refuses to play it. As a result, the EU itself is frustrated (not that I care) as are all those who voted for leave (as in Leave, not a little bit kind of). The political class never wanted this and its offer was a failed gamble to torch UKIP in the first place. The problem is that if we were to have a General Election, this might open the door for the Labour Party, which would be a cluster fuck. As bad as the Tories are they do have that saving grace. Unfortunately when the leadership contest was run. Mystic Mogg didn't wade in, he should now and we can rescue this pitiful process. You have no idea how much this nonsense is affecting both business and relevant civil service operations. We only effectively have two parties in this country, Dumb and Dumber and its so depressing I tend to try to focus on the GEOTUS these days, because at least he acts occasionally and doesn't get bogged down in the foolishness of the chattering classes, unlike our PM who seems to know more about shoes and handbags than politics.

Blogger David July 09, 2018 1:58 AM

Ideally, May will step down and the Tories will install someone with a backbone as PM.

If there is another General Election, Labour will win. Corbyn will be PM. All bets will be off then.

Blogger The Surly Beaver July 09, 2018 2:29 AM

May's no worse than any of the alternatives. The fact is, we're governed by blithering imbeciles who completely fail to grasp the nature of the EU or our degree of integration with it and who keep insisting on having our cake and eating it too. Unfortunately it doesn't work like that as they're going to find out all too soon.

Blogger nswhorse July 09, 2018 2:32 AM

The Brits have the same problem as all Western countries. A choice between lefties who are moving ever more toward the far left and cuckservatives who are following the left leftward. Mass immigration has achieved its unstated goal. Thank fuck for Trump.

Blogger Wuzzums Fuzzums July 09, 2018 2:45 AM

This will be repeated. The brits didn't learn their lesson with Thatcher and they won't learn their lesson with May. No matter the politics, women are as apt to leading a state as men are at breastfeeding babies.

Blogger Resident Moron™ July 09, 2018 3:16 AM

I thought from the beginning that May was appointed to sabotage Brexit. Cameron, having openly campaigned against it, couldn’t credibly lead it. But there’s nobody in the Deep Swamp who isn’t a globalist traitor and May is the epitome of a spineless yes-man, a quisling collaborator for hire.

Nothing May has done since her ascendancy to an office far above her capabilities has given any reason to believe she’s ever been serious about taking Britain out of the EU.

Jacob Rees-Mogg. Andrea Ledsom. Ledsom actually challenged for the Tory leadership against May. She has children and pointed out that this made her a better choice than barren womb Teresa. Well, you can imagine the angst this caused and she was forced to drop out. Hmmm. Makes you think doesn't It!

Blogger David Power July 09, 2018 7:07 AM

Summoned to a meeting in the middle of nowhere and insisting they hand over their phones?

Then strong-arming them into signing an agreement they didn't believe in, under the threat that if they didn't, they would have to resign immediately and subject themselves to the humiliating optics of having to leave Checkers on foot?

Really? Did she really think this would work?

Does she not understand that they will never ever forgive or forget this attack on their integrity?

Does she not understand that by playing this underhanded trick, she has now made enemies of them all?

Expect a drip drip of cabinet resignations over the next few days as they turn the heat on her to go.

One way or another; SHE IS TOAST
