AH:Q - the final stretch

There are only 10 8 6 hours left to back Alt★Hero: Q. Trust the Plan! We're less than 8k away from six digits! Meanwhile, the plot thickens, as Roland Dane serves himself breakfast at the hotel buffet after a very busy night.

5 hours left and the campaign just passed $97k! Six digits is in sight....

UPDATE: Just did an hour-long Darkstream about Kavanagh and the AH:Q campaign.

UPDATE: And we're done. $102,067 and 1436 backers. Thanks very much, everyone!

That crawl in the last panel.

Blogger Dave September 26, 2018 4:21 PM

What did Q do? How could Q let Roland be set-up this way?

Blogger Lauri Stark September 26, 2018 4:28 PM

Really like the art style. The setting makes me feel this could be accompanied by a cool synthwave soundtrack.

Looking forward for the results.

Blogger Ingot9455 September 26, 2018 4:34 PM

Trust the plan, Dave.

Blogger Dave September 26, 2018 4:48 PM

It's not easy to trust the plan. Good thing Roland is keeping up his strength because he might have to go on the run very soon.

Blogger Wraithburn September 26, 2018 5:16 PM

Very glad I backed this, the ride already intrigues me.

Blogger Joe September 26, 2018 6:19 PM

He reminds me of John Kelly (Clark) from Without Remorse

Now less than 6k away from six digits!

Curiouser and curiouser.

The set-up of this page reminds me of something. You mentioned in the Brightstream that film types are coming to CH after 2 comics when they were quiet through 150 books: Comic books are essentially pre-made story-boards. They can lift angles and shots directly from the product to get an instant idea of what sorts of locations, props, weather, costumes, and all of that they'll need.

Look at this page, for example. Establishing shot. Close-up of action. Three quarter to establish character. Reaction shot to off-screen spoken words. Then cut to the TV with the ECN (Exposition Channel News) Teleprompter Babe announcing the death of Braddock. It's a tight sequence even without any text box "voice overs" or color added.

You already made their blueprint for the film. They can take the issue itself as a proof of concept and show it to investors and screenwriters and studios and directors and such. With novels they would have to do all that heavy lifting themselves.

You probably know that, but I figured the blog readers might find it interesting.

There's also the tide of comic book movies.

Blogger James Dixon September 26, 2018 8:01 PM

> There's also the tide of comic book movies.

It also helps that this one is live action ready and (thus far) has no supers in it.

Blogger Discard what is usless September 26, 2018 8:44 PM

Backed, and ordered some more hard copies of Alt Hero for the fam. The rest of you ass clowns reading all these years...time to put up.

I like M-14's, big bore revolvers Arkhaven and victory.

Praise the lord and pass the comics.

Blogger Dave September 26, 2018 9:11 PM

Anybody else notice the TV babe and Braddock have the same hair?

Blogger Silent Draco September 26, 2018 9:15 PM

And a MeToo shirt on granny in the background. Nice touch.

If someone has a Voat account with enough CCP (Comment Contribution Points)(upvotes) it might be nice to share the URL ( to the AHQ indiegogo campaign there on Voat

Perhaps post it in the new Q sub here

I didn't realize I'd need 10 CCP to share a URL in QRV and I don't have enough yet

Blogger Silly but True September 26, 2018 10:54 PM

If 2VS had any honor at all (“if” hahaha), he would review a current Alt-Hero issue given his review of the debut issue.

We know, however, that 2VS has no honor.

Blogger James Parliament September 26, 2018 11:01 PM

Should be cracking $99k right now...

Blogger Jack Amok September 26, 2018 11:54 PM

Aliright, I'm not a comic book guy, but this is too close. I pitched in. Just over $99,900 now.

At this point, my question is, what will be revealed first? The resolution of the Alt-Hero:Q story, or the real Q story? April 2019... hmmm.

Blogger GammaCatch September 26, 2018 11:54 PM

I finally received Alt-Hero #2, Quantum Mortis #2, and Avalon #1 via Amazon. 2 weeks and a few days after Amazon confirmed them as delivered. They delivered them in a large box, just bouncing around in there. Extremely bizarre. Could be Leftist conspiracy, we all know of the jimmying VD spoke of with GG etc on there.

I buy and resell many games. Lately, many listed as "very good" look like the disk had been gone over with a brillow pad. General quality control issue or "Targeted Rightist Guy"? Paranoia is not unwarranted in these times.

Maybe after VD takes over comics he can take over Amazon.

Anywho, great to see AH:Q smashing. 100k is no joke. After paying into dozens of Right causes and personalities over the years, it's the Misanthropic Gremlin Homicidal Meerkat Trainer Ex-Pat in Italy that is the one who actually moves the bar a little to The Right in a medium.

Never in my wildest dreams....

Blogger Bibliotheca Servare September 26, 2018 11:55 PM

Backed! I don't know enough about the "q" stuff to feel comfortable offering an opinion on it, but the original Alt Hero campaign was more than sufficient to demonstrate the effectiveness and skill of Vox and Co. I'm happy to contribute what I can to Arkhaven's efforts to transform the modern entertainment space; indeed, I wish I could do more.

Blogger Jack Amok September 26, 2018 11:56 PM

Aaaand there it is. Six figures. Congrats guys.

Blogger CostelloM September 27, 2018 12:43 AM

Well Vox you created an indigogo to ask if we wanted Arkhaven to do Q and we have responded, loudly and with a bullhorn. I trust the message was received? ;)

Blogger Revelation Means Hope September 27, 2018 2:09 AM

come on, less than an hour and we can get to 1500 backers!!!!

Blogger weka September 27, 2018 2:13 AM

So digits. 101k

Blogger Silent Draco September 27, 2018 2:17 AM

The pain meds are working, but kept me up. As the Darkstream proceeded, I began thinking it was a generic NPR fundraiser. Maybe a silver skull for pledging the works, and if the campaign reached $150K, a special appearance by Martha Radditz in the VFM arena. Maybe Terry Gross getting some Fresh Air from her guest, LTC Kratman

Maybe I better stick with acetaminophen and some aching, and not chance a major hallucination.

Blogger Daniele Grech Pereira September 27, 2018 3:00 AM

Can you fine dudes work a little faster? Either that or stop teasing. Damn, I never thought I'd be back into this kinda stuff but yet here is the legend Chuck Dixon to save the day.

204% of $50,000 fixed goal

Well done.

Although I'm happy there's a break before your next campaign, you seem to be sure that you know what it's going to be. Hopefully we don't have to wait 3 months to find out.

Blogger Jack Amok September 27, 2018 4:02 AM

Oh, I forgot to ask. Did poor Rip commit suicide by hanging himself from a doorknob? After killing himself with several shots from a nail gun?

Blogger Killua September 27, 2018 5:20 AM

Congratulations! Sure is great to reach those figures!

Blogger VD September 27, 2018 8:22 AM

you seem to be sure that you know what it's going to be

We know exactly what it is. We already have the writers, artists, and cover artists on board. It is going to be big, quite possibly much bigger than AH and AH:Q combined.

Blogger James Dixon September 27, 2018 9:49 AM

> It is going to be big, quite possibly much bigger than AH and AH:Q combined.

That will be impressive if so. Unless something happens I'll be onboard.

Blogger My Shield Is Disgust September 27, 2018 10:02 AM

I can't really put my finger on why, but this is the most intriguing frame from Alt Hero Q that you have posted so far.

Glad I backed the project!

Blogger My Shield Is Disgust September 27, 2018 10:57 AM

If I may offer a criticism, the one problem with Alt Hero Q is the hero's name.

"Roland Dane", with two identical consonant sounds together - "...d D..." - is awkward to pronounce.

I keep thinking it should be "Roland Bane".

Or if Bane interferes with existing IP, perhaps "Roland Kane" or "Roland Payne" or "Roland Shane" would be a lot better.

Blogger Avalanche September 27, 2018 10:59 AM

@38 "We know exactly what it is. We already have the writers, artists, and cover artists on board. It is going to be big, quite possibly much bigger than AH and AH:Q combined."

The Supreme Dark Lord is lauded worldwide for his exquisitely precise cruelty and his suspense-producing offer of severe pain before allowing a glimpse of the future granting of release.
(Owee.... SO long a wait!)

Blogger VD September 27, 2018 11:23 AM

I keep thinking it should be "Roland Bane".

I tend to prefer that too, for reason the Dread Ilk know.

Blogger Balkan Yankee September 27, 2018 12:36 PM

@37: "Thanks to all the backers! What a remarkable finish! Well done to all of you."

Vox, I cannot speak for the other backers, but I am grateful that there is at least one person I can trust to fight the culture war properly. And that person is you. (CH books and Arkhaven comics are pretty good too.)

Looking forward to the next opportunity to reinforce success!

Blogger R Webfoot September 27, 2018 2:21 PM

If it's a pseudonym, I prefer "Bane."

If it's his real name, I prefer "Dane," because I can't imagine an actual person actually having the surname "Bane" even though it happens. I wouldn't mind though; it's a personal aversion to on-the-nose names, and I can easily suppress it.
