AH:Q is go, go, go

Bounding Into Comics exclusively reports on Arkhaven's very successful circumnavigation of IndieGoGo's retroactive cancellation of the successful Alt-Hero:Q campaign:
After IndieGoGo Shuts Down Alt-Hero: Q – Arkhaven Comics Raises Huge Money in Just Two Days!

IndieGoGo recently shut down Vox Day and Arkhaven Comic’s ongoing Alt-Hero: Q crowdfunder without any explanation. The campaign trended #1 on the crowdfunding site when it launched. However, Vox Day ran a stealth campaign where he tells us he raised over $130,000 in two days from over 1100 backers. In fact, he told us he raised over $100,000 in just the first 24 hours.

Day referenced this stealth campaign in a blog post, writing, “As I mentioned previously, we expect to get version 2.0 of the AH:Q campaign up in about two weeks. As always, we’re focused on doing it right rather than doing it fast, so rest assured that work has been proceeding on the first issue regardless of when we relaunch the campaign and how we do it. As The Legend has already declared, those involved will do it for nothing if necessary.”

This stealth campaign was only the first part in Vox’s strategy to successfully launch Alt-Hero: Q. Due to IndieGoGo shutting down the crowdfunding campaign, Vox and his team has begun working on their own independent crowdfunding. In fact, Vox tells us the stealth campaign “was a test run of our independent crowdfunding ability, which we plan on opening to the public later this month.”
For those of you who have been emailing me and wanting to back the AH:Q campaign, we will open it up again as soon as we have the full site operative, complete with the crowdfunding element. We plan to run the AH:Q campaign for 28 more days in order to allow everyone to support AH:Q and to participate in our campaign against the SJWs trying to shut us down.

Thanks to all of the AH:Q backers whose decisiveness and discipline made this possible. Your performance was astounding, even to the AH:Q team. What we are building will not be stopped; this is only the beginning of the Dark Legion's long march through the comics industry. This is only the first of several announcements that will increasingly dismay and demoralize our self-appointed enemies.

Every time they knock us down, we will come back harder, and stronger, and faster. And we will show them no mercy whatsoever.

Where we go one, we go all.

Well, don't have to worry about blowing opsec anymore.

Except for the part about not having the wife find out how much I spent on a comic book.

That protocol is still very much in effect.

If the scuttlebutt is true, when General Motors set up their GMAC car finance branch, the finance became more profitable than the car making. From a profit standpoint they became a finance company that made cars on the side. Maybe Arkhaven should become a bank that does a little publishing on the side.

Oh, you know, just thinking about it. Congratulations for the early success.

BONES!

Blogger VD November 05, 2018 1:36 PM

From a profit standpoint they became a finance company that made cars on the side.

And that took away their focus from making quality cars and competing effectively in the automotive marketplace, so they went bankrupt. Not a good plan, in my opinion.

Blogger Silly but True November 05, 2018 3:14 PM

Congrats.

Not that AH:Q team needs any creative input, but here’s some decent regionally appropriate throw-away lines when Q’s adventures take him to Avalon’s gulf coast to team with fiery operative, QT:

“Drain the swamp, chere’.”
“I’m from the bayou — we know you eventually have to drain the swamp to survive around here.”
(Humming to oneself) “I went on down to the Audubon Zoo
And they all ask’d for Q.”

Blogger Avalanche November 05, 2018 3:17 PM

@26 "GMAC started in 1919"

Point o' trivia: GMAC is now Ally Bank, a deeply excellent online bank!

You can't increase it per se, but you can increase it in effect by a second backing. If you want to combine the two for a specific reward, we can arrange that manually.

Yes, she too deserves a complementery copy, if only as cover for including in the package a postage paid, pre-addressed envelope for her to return, (after she signs it) a print
of that photo of her in the MAGA hat.

In the linked article it mentioned you will probably go with arbitration, vs. a lawsuit. Please share, when it's safe, your logic. My only experience so far has been with a lawsuit, and it's been eye opening. My guess on why is cost and time. Negative is you don't make the rubble bounce as much.

GM was so screwed up by both the GM officials AND the UAW reps, ...yes, both sides of the negotiating table... "aaah who cares if this give-them-the-moon policy won't actually work -- YOU and I will both be happily retired by the time this shit hits the fan".... I can't remember who ... it was one of the Presidents of GM who came in around 2000 or shortly after. He said when he looked at the financials, the best description of GM was a company in which the primary business was purchasing health care, with a minor side-operation involving a very complex system for purchasing and assembling car parts.

"Is it just a coincidence that today is Guy Fawkes' Day? The figurative Houses of Parliament appear to be filling up with barrels of gunpowder.

The British public's biggest mistake was buying into the crown's narrative that Guy Fawkes was their enemy. Even a hundred years after the incident -- I can see the public still being mislead without it being their fault. With near universal literacy by the early 1900's and the entire story revealed by that time... Fawkes SHOULD have been transformed into a hero by the public.

And for all the Lincoln haters -- no, he NEVER considered John Brown to be a hero (although Brown was an instant hero in abolitionist circles). He saw Brown as someone who had executed a needless provocation, without having the slightest chance of even achieving his goals. (Most of the local blacks who were handed weapons dropped them on the ground, considering Brown and his accomplices to be insane. Brown had not prepared his intended rank and file in his slave-uprising fantasy, and had he even tried to do so, he would have been killed before he ever mounted his attack on the Harper's Ferry armory.)

Enemy of the state? Certainly.

Enemy of the people? Not even close.

Blogger Gus Gruel November 05, 2018 5:02 PM

Here's hoping for a Subscription backing level; individual issues sent out as completed.

In any case, it'll be good this project had a successful second campaign.

>>GM was so screwed up by both the GM officials AND the UAW reps, ...

Fifty plus years ago the entire American auto industry was a covert monopoly (or oligarchy). The unions got their big wages, keeping the Democrats happy, and the car companies got their profits, keeping them happy. For some reason the real innovation in cars in the post WWII period came from Europe, with US automakers adapting it more slowly then they should have.

What pushed GM into what should have been bankruptcy was the worker pension fund. With lagging sales it was an undue burden. Whether they were distracted by their finance sector I don't know. I suppose it did take some of the pressure off.
