An absolute grifter
The fact that the Left sees through Jordan Peterson doesn't mean they are wrong:
Over the summer I read 12 Rules, his wildly popular self-help book. On Saturday I went to see him speak at the Logan Campbell Centre. Outside the venue, I spoke to people who had bought tickets in a genuine attempt to understand his appeal.Notice how Jordan Peterson confirmed Milo's criticism of him even as he tried to defend himself from it:
Dr Peterson's fans have been stereotyped as angry young men lashing out at feminism, or older guys furious that their grip on societal power seems to be slipping.
That's not the impression I got. One man told me Dr Peterson saved him from addiction. A couple of 20-year-olds said they felt disconnected from their generation and had finally found someone to look up to. Everyone who spoke to me was eloquent and reasoned, aware of the common criticisms of Dr Peterson and armed with decent counterarguments.
I don't think they're wrong for connecting with a public intellectual who has made cerebral topics like philosophy and mythology mainstream. I'm not angry with them.
I am angry with Dr Peterson, who has pulled off the greatest scam of our time.
I watched him pace around the stage on Saturday, listened to him ramble through half-baked ideas, and reached the conclusion that he is an absolute grifter.
He's convinced millions of people that watching a middle-aged man pontificate for 90 minutes is akin to a religious experience. You can get that for free at any bar in the world.
I don't think the people who like this guy are stupid. I think they're lost and scared and desperate for someone to show them the way.
White men made up the majority of his audience on Saturday, a fact he mentioned during the Q&A segment in an incredibly defensive bad faith argument. He sneered at the idea that the demographics of a fanbase might be relevant information.
Dr Jordan Peterson defended himself on Australian TV this week after being hit by an unexpected question from far-right internet provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos. The 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos author was a panellist on ABC's Q&A on Monday night (local time), following his recent tour of New Zealand.Got that, young men? The grifter you thought was your champion just cast you off. He's got bigger cons to sell now.
Yiannopoulos featured in a pre-recorded video, in which he attacked Dr Peterson for "betraying his allies" - specifically citing the Canadian clinical psychologist's perceived silence on the controversies surrounding US judge Brett Kavanaugh and footage of Catholic school students facing off with a Native American protester.
"I don't believe that I'm obliged to comment on absolutely everything that happens everywhere in the world," replied Dr Peterson. "I don't think that I am betraying my fundamental base... I'm also, by the way, not trying to talk to young men. I'm trying to talk to people. There's been this idea generated in the news by news people who keep reading the news that other news people create that somehow I have a coterie of angry, young, white men surrounding me because they're angry about feminism and about all these other 'isms', let's say. I don't see it like that at all."
"You talk a good game about standing up for men and for boys and you've certainly amassed a big army of them, but a few of us have been wondering," Yiannopoulos told Dr Peterson on Q&A.
"Can you explain why, although you talk a good game about standing up against social justice warriors and the 'chaotic feminine', when it comes down to it, you always seem to either fold, stay silent or betray your allies?"
Dr Peterson suggested in his response that Yiannopoulos had the wrong idea about him - just as he and his fans believe much of the news media has.
"I'm trying to suggest to people that their best bet in life - and this is men and women alike - is to adopt as much responsibility as they can for their own lives," said Dr Peterson.
"Because that is where the meaning in life is to be found. The notion that that's somehow a message that's limited to young men is an absurd message."

It could be just my opinion, but advising young white males to work on self-improvement WHILE being hounded and targeted by extremely powerful and well-funded institutions seems like pissing in the wind.
What Peterson needs to do is provide us with the insulation from these parasites and tools to ensure we are able to maintain this protectionn. Which is why Vox Day is providing an actual service to our fallen/falling.

"I don't believe that I'm obliged to comment on absolutely everything that happens everywhere in the world,"
Well, if you want a classic definition of a "straw man" this is it.
No one, including Milo, is asking you to comment on "absolutely everthing." Just as a "public intellectual" you should comment on the things that are appropos.
I know the owner of this blog has/had an enormous amount of contempt for Christopher Hitchens, but one thing you could say about Hitch: ask him a question, and he'd tell you EXACTLY what he thought bout the issue. Dodging was not in his DNA. THAT'S a public intellectual.
Lying on television to people's faces - what a fucking snake. I was ambivalent on him but now I truly despise him. I'm gonna do my best to discourage all my family members and friends who admire him from ever actually listening to him. Hope he gets what's coming to him.
It's interesting. I read Maps of Meaning a few years ago and thought I was getting something out of it. Then my wife tried to read it and basically said it was gobbledygook. At the time I thought that it was strange, because it seemed so obvious that she missed the point. Now I realize that there was no point to miss, she was completely correct, and I drew all the connections in my own head because all he did was preemptively mirror me, his reader. He is clearly a grifter. Milo called it early.
Is he a grifter though?
The Guy is heavily involved in the Occult, Neo-Gnosticism and Demon-Summoning + Worship. He is *objectively evil*. He's probably (at this point) likely one of the 30 minor Dajjals that we have been warned about for millenia (i.e. as we get closer to the Day of Judgement).
How can such an *objectively evil* creature be merely a grifter? He's more like one of those Cordyceps Fungi that eats its host from the inside out *literally* and then uses said Nutrition to sprout off and reproduce from the carcass. A truly vile and despicable creature!
Is he a grifter though?
Yes. The fact that he may be more, or less, than that has nothing to do with the observable fact that he is a grifter.
@6: True.
The Leftie who wrote the article at least has a correct, low-resolution "picture" of things. I wonder what would the Lefties do if they found out (for example) that he has always dabbled with Occult filth?
I doubt much; considering how most of their Godless ilk have no problem with Wicca and other nonsense.
Wow. Again, I can't believe I let JBP fool me. I watched several youtube videos from 2017-2018 and he absolutely said that his demographic are straight white young men.
The alphas, sigmas, etc. Need to be on the lookout for these people and expose them to minimize the damage they wreak on our beta and delta brothers. Noblesse oblige for the 21st Century.

Charles Ponzi was a grifter. That isn't a dismissal.
Science just discovered a new species of chameleon: Chamaeleo Jordanus Petersonicus.
Who knew?!
Pathetic that he preys on the weak. Pathetic that he lies and postures as a role model.
I'm also, by the way, not trying to talk to young men. I'm trying to talk to people.
Well, he has finally adopted the feminist "radical notion that women are people too".
Chad, he has to prey on those types. No one else will listen.
Milo on Facebook
"Thank you, Dr Peterson. I accept your apology. I hope you can understand why I was pissed off. I do hope you answer my question some day about why you seem so useless in a crisis, and why you abandon and sabotage allies so often, but, for now, thank you for what you said."
@R Webfoot: What a fine rhetorical hammerblow.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jordan Peterson is just misunderstood, if you only knew him like I know him, yada, yada, yada. People are easily deceived, it is in our nature and it needs to be fought. John got it right in I John 4:1 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world."
People need to be tested out before we blindly follow them. Jordan Peterson is not the first snake oil salesman and he won't be the last, since the Fall man has always looked for the easy way out, man has always looked to be enticed.
Head over to the /r/JordanPeterson subreddit, type in jordanetics, and search that sub only. After a few months of no posts being allowed to remain, there are several with comments.
They follow the usual pattern:
Vox is jealous! It's personal!
HE calls himself Vox Dei? The Voice of God? What a jerk!
Vox Day doesn't know ANYTHING!

One guy said he e-mailed or commented on here about the UN document Peterson is involved in. He sperged out and wrote an entire song or poem thing about being a gamma!
https://www.reddit.com/r/JordanPeterson/comments/audj08/trolling_a_troll_message_to_jordanetics/
An Australian gardener, and self proclaimed Alpha Male, going by the handle of 'jordanetics' has been trolling this website; posting comments all over it accusing Dr. Peterson of being 'a UN puppet', and attacking anyone who disagrees, while promoting Vox Day's anti-Peterson book Jordanetics.
I first noticed this when he posted the comment on a post of mine. I asked for evidence backing his claim and he responded by sighting a UN report on global sustainability Dr. Peterson contributed to in 2012 called 'Resilient People, Resilient Planet', which he claims proves that Dr. Peterson is in fact a Cultural Marxist; working in league with a powerful and malevolent network of globalists, who's ultimate goal is to undermine and destroy the Western world. Which to me, made absolutely no sense.
When I asked him to further elaborate on this theory, his only response was to repeat the accusation, over and over again, insisting that the existence of the report alone constitutes indisputable and conclusive 'testimonial evidence' of his claim, and that's that!
All my offerings challenging this were ether ignored, dodged, or met with antagonistic taunts and/ or insults; his preferred being to frame those that disagree with him as brainwashed 'Gamma Males' incapable of rational or independent though.
Realizing that any further attempts to engage him in a genuine debate were pointless, but still being fascinated by his obsession with, and theory regarding Dr. Peterson, I finally decided to send him this:
---------
(Note from The Greay Man, this is the letter the above poster wrote to Vox because this guy can't understand anything.)
---------
You inspire me. So in an attempt to out-troll you I mined your post history and cut and pasted a tribute poem together for you using your own words. It's pretty harsh, but I think you'll like it. It captures your spirit. Keep in mind they're ALL your own words:
The sad thing here is now you’re lying to yourself
You carry a spirit of falsehood
You are a coward and a liar
This comment says more about you than it will ever say about me
Go to your recycling bin and get out an old coke plastic bottle
I wish I could undo the damage weed did to me. Weed makes you dumb and docile
But most people prefer dumb and docile rather than truth
Hard gamma red alert
I spray ‘invasive’ plants all day
Maximum gamma
You are a loser
You are unintelligent and a coward
Very very unintelligent
you are mentally ill.
you are an absolute lunatic
AND you have zero humility when being corrected
you need to graduate gamma
Okay gamma remember you can graduate. It’s just being honest with yourself
you can always do better than gamma
Remember dude you can always do better than gamma
Incidentally, if you are on Facebook, Milo's recent post right now is a target rich environment. A lot of upset buckos.
The leftie might have seen through Peterson's bafflegarble, but...
"He's an old-school conservative"
Uh, what? No, he's not conservative at all. Unless you think preserving esoteric nonsense is conservative.
They misinterpret a critic of the radical left for someone who is opposed to the left.
The more you know about JP the more you realize his defenders online haven't even read his material.
@Latigo3
Gamma-Gamma catfights can be entertaining... sometimes.
the Peterson cult seems to have more and more "bored members".
Take personal responsibility for your life. Swell. But the part he studiously forgets to advertise is the radical individualism that goes along with it. No community, no religion, no culture, no national country. With complete atomization of individuals comes perfect powerlessness in the face of the Almighty Globalist State. As long as you submit to that, you can be as personally responsible for your life as you like.
Peterpan Peterson is today's version of the snake oil salesman. He offers the cure for everything, just don't inspect the ingredients too closely.
Well put.
My argument against that take of his was that he was telling a young boy to go upstairs and clean his room while someone was setting fire to the kitchen. Having a clean room doesn't do much for you if you burn alive.
Right, and JP doesn't simply not comment on everything, he specifically avoids commenting on things near and dear to the people looking to him for help.
He can't be honest about the Faith Goldy episode.
He can't be honest about the Kavanaugh episode.
He can't be honest about his audience demographics.
He can't be honest about the Jewish Question.
He can't be honest about the Islamification of Europe.
He can't be honest about the "civil rights movement".
He can't be honest about the pernicious effects of globalism.
He can't even be honest about his IQ.
Everything about this guy is fake. He has to lie about almost everything to keep the scam going. This is an extremely fragile situation to put yourself in, and sooner or later it's all going to come crashing down.
His only hope is to talk exclusively to retarded SJWs. Any opponent with a triple digit IQ is dangerous.
Nice try, Vox. Your audience of evolution, moon landing and spherical earth sceptics were never the target audience of JBP and they don't read this blog.
Individual 6,
Are you saying that evolution, moon landing, and spherical earth skeptics have more sense than JBP fanbois/cultists?
Interdasting...
@28: "...sooner or later it's all going to come crashing down.
It's one thing when JBP has a captive audience (college students), but it's entirely another when he does not.
JBP has no exit strategy from this mess.
I realize now that the main reason Peterson fooled me for as long as he did is that I assumed he was a Christian, and somehow that allowed me to ignore the inconsistencies. Hopefully I won't make that mistake again.
>Uh, what? No, he's not conservative at all. Unless you think preserving esoteric nonsense is conservative.
>They misinterpret a critic of the radical left for someone who is opposed to the left.
Only goes to show how far left the Overton window is. Communism is now considered normal and centre.
Feminism does not even have to make a counter offer with "enemies" like JP.
Nice try, Vox.
I am curious what this individual thinks that Vox was trying.
But only because I have 5 minutes to kill.
Individual 6 wrote:Nice try, Vox. Your audience of evolution, moon landing and spherical earth sceptics were never the target audience of JBP and they don't read this blog.
That's incorrect. I personally using Vox's material have turned all of my brothers, and three of my male friends from JP cultists into JP sceptics.
JP is flawed at the very core - individualism if futile when it's possibility can be ended by hostile collectives.
Vox is so superior to JP in every way it's quite unbelievable. When I found this blog and I can't even remember how it happened now it was just a series of Eurekas of congruence.
JP is an incoherent weirdo.
Can't deny that
What's your point?
Same here i managed to make my friend became a skeptic using VD's argument s
Found this interesting Nietzche quote: "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?"
Reminded me of Petersen and the
"festivals of atonement" and "sacred games" he trying to invent
If [those going to Petersen's gig] are scared now, they should just hang around a little longer.
The longer things travel an unsustainable path, the larger loom the consequences when the pavement ends.
The era of centralized complacency will end, most likely with a Bang.
He's a book seller wanting to disarm his own
'toxic' detractors.
ever seen Mick Jagger give an interview.
the point is he's getting people a few feet out of Babylon.\ not taking money to be the captain of the good ship Exodus, just a bee in the bonnet to get their arses moving.

and the smartest man in the room is the one who finishes the sentences of the "incoherent" for them. It's smarter by far.
that is dark to light. Q'ish. NSA. Nice try Milo, but it wasn't a gotcha finale.
