Stealing the shield

The French globalists are desperately trying to hide behind the shield of anti-semitism:
More than 20,000 demonstrators filled the Place de la Republique in Paris on Tuesday night in response to a nationwide call for mass rallies against the continuing surge of antisemitism in France.

The show of solidarity with French Jews in the capital was replicated across the country, with rallies against antisemitism being held in more than 60 cities and towns, including Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse and Strasbourg — the city in eastern France near which only on Tuesday morning dozens of graves in a Jewish cemetery were found defaced with swastikas and antisemitic slogans.

The vandalism at the cemetery came following a week of high-profile antisemitic incidents, including the daubing of a Jewish-owned bakery with the slogan “Juden!” and the abuse hurled at the French-Jewish intellectual Alain Finkielkraut last weekend by protesters affiliated with the populist “yellow vest” movement.

Under the floodlit statue of Marianne, the symbol of the French Republic, the demonstrators who gathered at dusk in Paris held signs declaring “Ça suffit!” (“That’s enough!”), as well as the greeting “Shalom, Salaam, Salut.” Many of the signs at the rally highlighted the figure “74%” — the total increase in the number of antisemitic outrages recorded in France during 2018.

At the podium, children from schools in the local district read out speeches against antisemitism, some of them recalling the mass deportation of the Jews of Paris by the Nazis in July 1942.

French rap artist Abd al Malik closed the rally, leading the crowd in a chorus of “La Marseillaise,” the national anthem.

Initiated by the opposition Socialist Party, Tuesday’s rallies against antisemitism were backed by 14 political parties from the far left to the center-right. Political leaders attending the demonstration in Paris included Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and 14 other members of the French cabinet, including Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer and Higher Education Minister Frédérique Vidal.

Minutes before the rally against antisemitism commenced, French President Emmanuel Macron paid a separate visit to the Holocaust memorial in Paris.
Yeah, crying anti-semitism works about as well these days as crying drowning polar bears. This clumsy attempt at changing the nationalist narrative in France strikes me as a highly effective way to make anti-semitism very, very popular again. The French globalists are transparently trying to disqualify and discredit the Gilets Jaunes and shore up an emergency foundation of support for a tottering Macron regime, but they will fail because no one who is struggling to make ends meet in a country that is disappearing before their eyes gives a damn about foreign people being killed in foreign lands more than seventy years ago.

daubing of a Jewish-owned bakery with the slogan “Juden!” It feels like a scam, like someone really really thought hard about, how to make this sound "far right".

no one who is struggling to make ends meet in a country that is disappearing before their eyes gives a damn about foreign people being killed in foreign lands more than seventy years ago.. Vox is so beautiful unapologetic in his explanations.

I personally find it odd, that politicians from parties responsible for the invasion of Muslims decry antisemitism hate against Jews. Certainly every clear minded individual sees through the idotism.

74% increase in anti-semitic "outrages?" I direct the French people to the thread on Jussie Smollet.

Cemetery swastikas are still a thing, I see. What is it with those people and headstones?

Dollars to donuts that the cemetery incident is a hoax. These people need to generate outrage to keep fueling their Narrative.

This is that bullshit where someone pointed out that 'Juden' was a german word. Google translate says the french word for jew is 'Juif'. Very obvious false flag dressed up as German-Nazi larp.

Same problem with the neo nazis like Richard Spencer, they want to do wizardry with '''feared''' symbols but larpers on either side are just playing with sticks in the sand.

Blogger Johnny February 21, 2019 11:34 AM

Don't know about France, but here in the US these moral charges seem to work almost as good as usual.

What is clumsy about it is that the charges have to be aimed at a few or ideally one leader. Otherwise it is criticizing the public at large, and that is a lot weaker than the Ainsley "isolate the individual" tactic.

Blogger tz February 21, 2019 11:41 AM

The "anti-Semitism" is nearly all from "migrants", including the old guy harassed - by someone wearing a keffiyeh.

On Fareed Zakaria Global Pajeet Socialism, he opened with trying to push that Christians always hated Jews and Muslims loved them until the bad Christans did something a century ago to make them hate Jews.

Regardless, the rape, terrorism, other general acts of violence like knives and acid seem to have a very specific demographic that is well correlated with the acts of anti-Semitism.

And surprise, in Crown Heights, blacks are attacking Jews. I wonder how many in MS-13 even know what the Holocaust is, but we need more of their kind.

I propose moving refugees and building mosques next to synagogues so they can learn to tolerate and coexist.

Blogger cecilhenry February 21, 2019 11:42 AM

Every time someone yells 'anti-semitism', the right response is:

'Well, WHAT are the Jews doing that is making people ANGRY'

And stick on that. WHAT are they doing. And what do they need to STOP doing.

Because plus ca change.

Blogger Barbarossa February 21, 2019 11:45 AM

Interesting choice of venue. For Paris, 20K is virtually a no show as far as rallies go, but the open space around the statue at Place de la Republique is small enough that photos wouldn't make it look sparse. Very telling that they didn't choose something more central and open and larger like Place de la Concorde or Bastille. Or something more symbolic like the Latin Quarter a la the '68 student demonstrations.

Almost like they're grasping for something, anything to counter the Yellow Jackets, but have no real enthusiasm or faith in their own cause.

What the French media conveniently forgets is that the Gilets Jaunes protests attract a significant number of Muslim 'youths' who like to riot.

And like most other European media, they conveniently forget that most anti-semitic incidents are caused by the same Muslims they've always wanted to import. Instead, they wave their hands and suggest the right is responsible for it, without actually saying it. Because admitting that Muslims are hunting Jews means that the media, who support mass immigration, are responsible. And they cannot handle that level of cognitive dissonance

Yeah, especially since the "French" antisemitism isn't actually perpetrated by actual French, but by the Muslim immigrants. Who now attack/ kill lower class Jewish residents of France. And who were effectively imported by the Jewish elite class. So it's much more an intra-jewish class struggle, rather than any "French" aversion against Jews.

The correct response to this would have been to flood these rallies with yellow-vests protesting migrant anti-semitism.

This is why it screams "fake protest", because any attempt to organize this with actual members of the public rather than Macron loyalist inner-circle mailing lists would have resulted in just that.

Populists are very good at flipping the narrative because they understand how the average person thinks far better than the people responsible for this window-dressing.

There's likely a selection effect going on. Most of the smart Jews left France many years ago as the place started to fill up with Muslim Arabs and Africans. If you want genuine anti-semitism, that's where you'll find it.

So most of the Jews still remaining in France are likely either parasites who can't leave or idiots with no self-awareness.

Then again, I don't think these globalists are putting on a show for the dozen or so Jews left in France. They're putting on a show for their fellow globalists in the international media. Which means they must be very worried about Macron losing legitimacy not just in France, but all throughout Europe.

Blogger Rickaby007 February 21, 2019 2:05 PM

As Andrew Joyce PhD lays out: if the term is to retain any use for us at all, can best be conceived as a framework of understandings or archetypal narratives concerning Jews (both individually and as a group) which enable reasonably accurate predictions or prejudgments of Jewish behavior, or which act to caution one against contact with Jews.

Nothing Jews fear more than other people pointing out or to their racial identity and behaviour.

Blogger Tars Tarkas February 21, 2019 2:18 PM

IDK, but 20k sounds like a fairly big protest and dwarfs what even center right people can accomplish in other countries.
To have all of the political parties from the center right to the far left come out and support shows there is no penalty for doing so. These same parties, even of the center right would ever do anything similar about the actual French people and what is happening to them.

While it may be obvious to some that this an act of desperation, it comes across to me as a show of force.

The Soviet system did seem to be all powerful right up until the day it collapsed. Of course, they also seemed rather weak right before a major crackdown.

"Muslims are the real anti-semites" is right up there with "Dems are the real racists."

Even if there is genuine animosity towards the jewish people amongst the Yellow Vests, why should I or any other nationalist care? Where are all the jews in France speaking out in support of anti-French sentiment?

The solution to jews and muslims in France is to return the control of France to the French people, not to side with either of the interlopers, who cooperate more often than they have a spat, and one of which helped open the gates of the kingdom to the other.

The solution when jews cry "Anti-Semitism" at the Right is not to go "But we're on your side, it's those Muslims you should be angry at!"

It's the same problem in the US, where, if we were sane, we wouldn't have either Omar in Congress or an AIPAC for her to criticise. But, of course, the Boomer Trotskyite Conservatives immediately rushed en masse to defend their beloved AIPAC instead of taking an actual right-wing, nationalist position.

Yes, they are using this to prop up the new law:

- Criminalization of anti-zionism and other hate crimes. Lots of fine print will no doubt be added to this one to make it as broad as possible...

- Ending internet anonymity. I wonder if this will include mandatory self-doxxing for everyone? Perhaps a struggle session too?...

- Making social networks responsible for any hate speech that is posted. On today's TV news, an "expert" explained that this would certainly not mean more censorship, as we all know the social networks strive to be fair and favor free speech...

In French it translates as "faux drapeau." Or, more accurately, "un événement organisé par des agents provocateurs."

Laughably inept and pathetic.

Quite suspiciously malodorous that anti-Semitism should "suddenly" erupt all across France at exactly the same time that Macron regime is being pwned. Apparently Manny and Company are too swollen with misplaced hubris to realize that no one is fooled, especially by the hilariously buffoonish attempt to conflate juliets jaunes with "anti-semites."

Blogger SciVo February 22, 2019 7:14 AM

If Macron actually wanted to end anti-Semitism in France, then he would close the border, banish the migrants, and forbid alien/hyphenated agitation/advocacy against Native French interests.

If he did that, then everyone could go back to their regularly-scheduled indifference toward Jews. That is not his proposed solution, because that is not his actual goal, because he doesn't even care about it; this nothing less than the Big Lie, the word wizardry of the inversion of truth.it

Macron wants to end anti-Semitism the same way he wants to promote tourism: it's nice in theory, but it would require doing things that would benefit Native French, so it is clearly unacceptable in practice.

Blogger SciVo February 22, 2019 7:34 AM

Do you see the power of the reframe? It doesn't matter what his motivations are, because nobody else is any more psychic than I am. As long as "Would it benefit the Native French?" is a reliable guide to what Macron would oppose, he will be correctly seen as a treacherous demon, regardless of what's going through his head -- and without appealing to the irrelevant interests of Fake French.

So let's take that home:

If Mitch McConnell really cared about ending anti-Semitism in America, then he would Build The Wall, Deport Them All, and spend less time on Israeli BDS B.S. -- and more on forbidding agitation/advocacy against unhyphenated American interests.

Mitch McConnell cares about ending anti-Semitism the way he cares about improving American schools: it sounds nice in theory, but it would require doing things that would benefit unhyphenated Americans, so it's clearly unacceptable in practice.

Blogger DonReynolds February 22, 2019 8:41 AM

The supreme irony of this article is the singular fact that the most anti-semitic populations in France are the new and old Muslim populations. The rise in attacks on Jews in France (and everywhere else) can be directly attributed to the flood of Arab and Muslim populations from Asia and Afrika.

The irony is that Islamophobia has become a mortal sin and may even be hazardous to your health. In the same country of France, even important politicians and public office holders have been charged with the crime of questioning or challenging the sudden increase in Arab and Muslim populations.

So for many people in France, expressing contempt or outrage for the rise in anti-semitic attacks and abuses is the only legal and acceptable way to complain about open borders!
