Book Interview with BIC

I spoke briefly with John Trent of Bounding Into Comics about Milo's new book:
Not only is the book for sale on Amazon, but it’s also for sale on Arkhaven Comics’ website given the book was edited by Arkhaven Comics publisher Vox Day.

I got the opportunity to chat with Vox about the book and he lauded it’s usefulness and noted it “underlines the importance of self-responsibility.”

BIC: The book is described as a guide for people who have been deplatformed, do you expect it be common reading in the near future as social media platforms continue to ban people for writing things like “learn to code?”

Vox: “I think HOW TO BE POOR will be useful for anyone who finds themselves in difficult circumstances, even those that are not necessarily related to poverty. Milo’s book is surprisingly stoic and underlines the importance of self-responsibility even when those circumstances are beyond one’s control. But I think HOW TO BE POOR will be very popular, and indeed, the Kindle version is already an Amazon bestseller in all of its categories, because the subject matter is so relevant to an increasing number of people these days. And, of course, because it’s hilarious.”
Read the whole interview there to see what is coming next for Milo.

Milo gets a pass when the anti sodomy laws come back

Definitely looking forward to the forthcoming FiC.

I learned a new slang term from Milo's book.

"Cuerpomatic" means to use one's body, or cuerpo, as a source of currency.

It was also surprising to learn that women and girls from Central America are paying to get to the USA with their bodies.

I enjoyed the HOW TO BE POOR ebook and will purchase paperback. I applaud Milo's writing style - from simple topic like money to very serious issues like pedophilia in the Catholic church, he has a certain flare that makes me want to finish the book in one sitting.

No Milo in comics!

I always assumed that Rainbow IS Milo.

Vox is right, this book is hilarious. In fact, if Dave Barry was ever broke and gay, he might have written this book.

Also, speaking of de-platforming:

Hot tip: By this book now, while you can. Because when the time comes that you actually need it - you'll be too broke to afford it.

Milo is one of those people who I have a smig of envy toward. So many dimensions to his sharpness; well read, quick/flexible mind, but that ability to seize others subtle barbs, and turn them back or away like a great fencer, using wit...WOW! Shakespeare, methinks, would have approved.

I am so glad that Milo troops on. He is so talented.

Have ordered in the Kindle. Looking to it for good advice and laughs. Milo can provide both.
Oh, Alt Q was excellent though I had to use a large magnifier to read the cations off Kindle. Must be a better way. That way is to get the print edition, probably. Well Done!

Good on Milo. It's nice to see him bouncing back.

I first learned of Milo from GamerGate. Already seems like long ago, but it really isn't. Things move fast these days. Good to see Milo making a comeback.

I'd pay $15 USD for an audio book by Milo. Perhaps others might as well.

Very entertaining book. I finished it this morning - full of Milo's trademark wit and humor. Should be a must read for NFL rookies. I am sure they experience an expenditure rate similar to Milo's, along with the type of "friends" that they acquire suddenly, and then they get cut due to injury or something and the money flow stops. I await the triumphant return of Milo.

Vox, bought Milo's new book on amazon (kindle) yesterday and wasn't allowed to leave a review. Haven't experienced that before, ever. Shocker, huh?

In a related note to #17: is Mr Benjamin going to release books or transcripts of his videos?

Blogger Steve Samson April 13, 2019 6:26 PM

I'll be buying it as soon as I get paid.

He's working on two books for Castalia.
