Up next: Black lesbian Thor

Marvel Films is determined to create space for the inevitable competition:
A new rumor indicates that Thor 4 could feature a female led.

The rumor from Cosmic Book News points to an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson noted she believes a pitch for a Thor 4 film has been made:

“I heard that a pitch has happened for [another “Thor” film]. I don’t know how real that intel is, but I hear that the pitch has happened. I think the idea is Taika [Waititi, who directed ‘Ragnarok’] would come back.”

She also discussed the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and how it will be more female-oriented when discussing a recent fan tweet showing Captain Marvel and Valkyrie together:

“It didn’t even occur to me, legitimately, that it was necessarily a romantic thing. I don’t even know what happens in the canon in terms of those characters or if they ever intersect, but I just love the idea of more women Marvel characters getting to intersect. I just think it’s so cool and it’s time and why not? There’s so many compelling female characters inside of the MCU.”

She added:

“And just selfishly, when I get to see those women in passing, they’re all such cool women. So the idea of getting to spend time with them and hang out is so fun. I’m just excited that this new phase promises to have women and queer folks.”
Some people are under the mistaken impression that these developments are upsetting to us. Quite the contrary. We are 100 percent in favor of Marvel and DC completely embracing and celebrating the ever-mutating SJW Narrative, on the grounds that one should never interrupt one's enemy when he is... doing exactly the right thing for Social Justice and the Post-American Way.

Chris Hemsworth is too problematic for Disney. He completely upstaged Bre Larson in an interview and made her look like a complete cunt (not that she needs the help).

Keep digging your own graves, Marvel. I'm not breaking a sweat over a single shovelfull.

If a company abandons a market segment, they have no complaint if someone else snaps up the business.

CGI is getting much cheaper...but the original Star Trek series proved that effects are not nearly as important as solid plots and good characters.

The SJW Pozz we’ve seen in the comics for these past few years will start bleeding into the films. This should be no surprise to anyone. This was planned from the beginning.

I saw Shazam! recently. It had “diversity” but I thought the film was good overall. The villains were demons that personified the Seven Deadly Sins from Catholic theology.

We'll see how many tickets they buy up for themselves on this one.

A hot blonde Valkyrie would have totally ruined the show. Plain brown frumpy girl is much hotter and more interesting!

/s

Suspect plain brown girl was much cheaper than Kate Upton, and why would they want people to actually spend money to see their films?

These people are stupid. If they’ve not learned from the Star Wars fiasco, then it’s deliberate.

"I don’t even know what happens in the canon"

And really, when you're involved in a billion-dollar ongoing project, why would you bother to learn about the foundations of it? No one's got time for that old story stuff. Just stand where the director says in front of the green screen and look pretty and fierce, it'll be fine.

Blogger David Ray Milton April 20, 2019 12:06 PM

This is ridiculous. Thor-ess is obviously a Muslim tranny, too. Marvel is stuck in 2013 (exasperated sigh).

Noticed that too. These people defy parody. "I don't know anything about these movies at all, but I do know they should have moar whamen! Because it's time!"

With the rise of AI and its incessant wrongthink that big tech seems unable to suppress, NPCs have officially become more predictable than actual machines.

I'm no longer amazed at how little they've made me care about the things I grew up with. I just want them replaced now with sanity. Arkhaven is well on the way. AHQ #1 was awesome!

I applaud this decision, especially if they want as director the same guy who made the odious Thor Ragnarok, which was a atrociously bad movie even by superhero movie standards. This is a recipe for disaster, and it can't happen faster. Nobody deserves it more than Disney and Marvel.

Blogger Brick Hardslab April 20, 2019 1:28 PM

If they wanted a tent pole for the next set of movies the guy who plays the next Captain America should have been it. This marvel Chick has burnt the franchise and maybe the brand. I'd reboot with a new set of people or use Hawkeye and black widow

That's original to the Shazam mythos. Good to hear that they went with that in the film.

1. They're banking on the MCU retaining its momentum enough to keep crap diversity-stuff in the black. But if the upcoming Avengers movie is an epoch-changer, expect the returns to suffer. People only see some of these movies because of the end credits/ties to the larger plots. I've been following them because I sensed a large-scale event to end it, and Thanos has been it. There's nothing after Thanos that's been signaled, so many of us are taking this next Avengers film as the "end of the novel", as you would say.

2. The black tough grrrl valerkie was the most unnecessary part of the wholly unnecessary Thor 3. She was ugly, mannish, and only put in there because Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth hate each other, so Portman has avoided doing anything further in the universe they can't contractually force her to do (hence why she disappeared since Thor 2, when even Gwentyh "I can't act" Paltrow has put in appearances in almost all the Avengers movies and every Iron man. )

But I digress. Thor didn't need a gf in Thor 3 if Portman wasn't going to be in, but if he did the white chick who played Syf (sp?) would have slid in nicely---and even could've had an arc where she's all bitter at Thor for being into Portman instead of her from the beginning (as shown in Thor 1), but then gets over it and falls for the big lunk. But again, no love interest needed in Thor 3 overall, it was annoying overkill.

3. I guess they haven't learned from Captain Marvel's bad press and Disney having to buy phantom tickets to keep it from being seen a s aflop---diversity train, full steam ahead!

I'm going with She-Hulk for the win.

At this point, I'm actively cheering on the SJWs in Hollywood, academia, and corporations. The faster these freaks put themselves out of business, the better off the rest of us will be.

It will work out as well as English footballers "boycotting" social media for 24 hours to "combat racist abuse".

Blogger Ingot9455 April 20, 2019 5:02 PM

Fourth wall breaking She Hulk could be a lot of fun with Deadpool. So guaranteed they'll never do it.

Blogger FUBARwest April 20, 2019 5:57 PM

Get woke Go broke. Marvel is done after Endgame.

Blogger TheMaleRei April 20, 2019 6:03 PM

@1

Yep, Brie Larson couldn't suppress vitriol even for Don Cheadle during that interview - not nearly as much as for Mr. Hemsworth.

And Jeremy Renner looked miserable when he was seated next to Larson during another interview.

I have no doubt that Larson thinks she's a role model for girls and young women throughout the world. I hope and pray that no one takes her seriously as a role model, her behavior is a recipe for eternal loneliness for straight women - and probably for lesbians as well...

Blogger Skyler the Weird April 20, 2019 8:00 PM

They need Angie Harmon for She-Hulk.

Blogger sammibandit April 20, 2019 9:11 PM

She doesn't like men. I've been reading too many enty blind items again.

A lot of words to say "I don't want to have to work to bang women.

VD would you ever do a Viking saga true to as it was recorded? I think the deeds of Bjorn and Hastein would be a cool serial in addition to the adventures of Thor, Loki, and whatever giant they're hanging out with that episode.

Blogger Damelon Brinn April 20, 2019 9:36 PM

Marvel is done after Endgame.

I've heard so many Marvel *fans* say that Endgame is the end that I thought that was officially the case. If it's not and they keep making them, they're in for a hard time.

That's the main reason so many people saw this movie: they all plan to see Endgame to wrap up the series of 20-some movies they've watched, and they expect Captain Marvel to be front and center in it, so they figured they needed to get to know her like the rest of the crew. It certainly wasn't out of enthusiasm for the character.

Blogger VD April 21, 2019 4:36 AM

VD would you ever do a Viking saga true to as it was recorded?

Certainly. That would be very cool.

Blogger MrNiceguy April 21, 2019 9:04 AM

Black lesbian Thor? Sounds insufficiently woke. I know a trans-black, genderqueer, Moslem atheist that would be perfect for the role.

Blogger Lovekraft April 21, 2019 11:45 AM

My simple demand for Disney is to take a pause after endgame and develop an entirely new aesthetic and style. We are numb from the existing palette and writing style (Mark Ruffolo acting as a 14-year old girl as Banner was unbearable).

If Disney chooses not to take a chance and continues to milk the same old cow, my money stays in my pocket.

Oh, and season 2 of the Punisher is an incredible letdown. Evil Christianstrope. For the thousandth freakin' time.
