It WAS treason

The President is not fooling around with the criminals in the FBI:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
My Campaign for President was conclusively spied on. Nothing like this has ever happened in American Politics. A really bad situation. TREASON means long jail sentences, and this was TREASON!
Then again, treason can be a capital crime....

Agnew was secretly investigated while Vice President by the Justice Department because there was credible evidence of corruption. So, it's not unprecedented. The claim of "Spying" on the Trump campaign is good rhetoric. It lays a sinister meaning over something that is commonly done.

What's clear though is that the President must continue his move to stifle all access to materials related to the Mueller investigation and give no ground. If he doesn't more and more information will come out that he and his defenders are going to have to commit time and effort to combatting. A judge's release of Flynn-related info and testimony given in the Mueller investigation is probably just the beginning. Can the president's men re-direct the narrative effectively?

While TGE is inclined to hyperbole at times this is the first time I've seen him use "treason"-a very specific crime- to describe the attempted Obama-Clinton-deep state coup. I expect he knows full wel he is correct and has evidence to back it up. This is consistent with his past practice where he says something that will make leftist heads explode, then he draws them in more as they demand he retract, etc. then he unloads the evidence proving his "outrageous" statement correct only after his enemies have sufficiently beclowned themselves. The globohomo libtards never learn.

Supposedly Horowitz's FBI IG report is now in the "hands of principals" which I imagine would include Trump. This may be his first real exposure to the facts of the investigation leading to his tweet above.

Will be fascinating to see how this plays out. Also the news this morning about Flynn doesn't worry me too much. The Congressman who tried to influence him is likely a deep-stater Dem or NeverTrumper.

Actually, I think that the crime was sedition. Either way, bring the ropes for a necktie party on the steps of the FBI building in Washington.

Blogger Jill in StL May 17, 2019 9:55 AM

I think it is past time for these deep state three-letter intelligence agencies (because let us face this - this is more than just the FBI) become a public lesson to the country and to the rest of these intelligence agencies that this CANNOT ever happen again in our country. I think, if convicted of treason, they should bring back the guillotine, off with their heads, and their heads put on spikes lining the fence of the White House with a large sign that reads perhaps something like "Let this be a lesson to you all - this will NOT happen again!" And, I do not care if those heads on spikes include Obama on down their sick tree of treason and coup attempt. This has been a national grace and a horrific example of massive abuse of power and threatened the sanctity of our election process (and yes, I realize that voter fraud is yet another issue that needs to be dealt with as well).

Blogger Great White May 17, 2019 9:56 AM

Finally. We've all known for a long time, and he's known for longer than us. @JG, his pattern is to always set everything up, get everyone prepped, and then strike. Remember that we're on the far right side of the curve for awareness of these issues. Your average citizen needs to be at the point of clamoring for justice.

Strong words, good to see. I'm guessing Trump is in the "float a balloon" phase and wants to see how much enthusiasm his base has for this action, and how effective the initial counter-attack is.
He might not be everything everyone dreamed, but he is a pleasure to watch at work.

It will be interesting to see if anything will actually come from this, I certainly hope it will for all you Americans sake. It is kind of strange looking back how my perspective on any statement from Trump have gone from sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation to a very zen 'we will see what happens' approach.

Interesting — but, as you point out, Treason is a capital crime; given the "long jail sentences" part of the tweet, I am guessing it's more bluster/intimidation than actual threat. Moreover, unless there's a way to prove the FBI's spying was aiding or giving comfort to the enemies of the States, or waging war on them, the allegation won't hold up in court.

OTOH, if there were a link between the FBI's spying and, say, foreign actors involved with an attack on the US that could be shown…

A failure to FIGHT is the same as LOSING the fight.

This is, I think, one of the points that a not-insignificant portion of his supporters feel betrayed on: to many of them it seems that Trump is content to surround himself with swamp-creatures instead of draining the swamp, much like instead of dropping the hammer on immigration he says he wants the highest number of [legal] immigrants.

But there's certainly a lot going on that we aren't privy to, one way or another — and even if Trump were aggressively deporting illegals, the media wouldn't report on it unless there were some way to spin it as bad/evil/wrong because, as we all know, "Orange man bad!".

Blogger Stg58/Animal Mother May 17, 2019 10:10 AM

The judge in Flynn's case is Emmet Sullivan, the same judge who ripped open the fraudulent Ted Stevens prosecution. If Sullivan is releasing information, it's to dig up the fraudulent nature of Flynn's prosecution as well.

Sundance at CTH postulates that Sullivan has ordered all recordings and transcripts of Flynn and Kisylak's conversations to be delivered to his office by the 31st so Sullivan can determine the agreement between Flynn's statements to Strozk and Page and the conversations with Kisylak. If the conversations agree with each other, Flynn did not commit perjury.

I hope you're right; but given the "heads: we win; tails: you lose" nature of the courts — especially WRT protecting their own (e.g. excusing Murtha's slander of Marines as "a federal employee as a function of his job") it would have to be pretty incontrovertible and obvious.

While it certainly was corrupt, rising the case to "Treason" will be difficult: it has to be shown that it was giving aid/comfort to the enemy and/or waging war on the States — difficult to do, generally speaking, but not impossible.

The Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) that authorizes the "War on Terror" IS a declaration of war according to Webster's 1828 dictionary definition of War: "1. A contest between nations or states, carried on by force, either for defense, or for revenging insults and redressing wrongs, for the extension of commerce or acquisition of territory, or for obtaining and establishing the superiority and dominion of one over the other. These objects are accomplished by the slaughter or capture of troops, and the capture and destruction of ships, towns and property. Among rude nations, war is often waged and carried on for plunder. As war is the contest of nations or states, it always implies that such contest is authorized by the monarch or the sovereign power of the nation. When war is commenced by attacking a nation in peace, it si called an offensive war and such attack is aggressive. When war is undertaken to repel invasion or the attacks of an enemy, it is called defensive, and a defensive war is considered as justifiable. Very few of the wars that have desolated nations and deluged the earth with blood, have been justifiable. Happy would it be for mankind, if the prevalence of Christian principles might ultimately extinguish the spirit of war and if the ambition to be great, might yield to the ambition of being good."

The preamble of the AUMF states exactly the wrongs being redressed.

Blogger Gregory the Tall May 17, 2019 10:39 AM

How about putting all of them together in one big cell, each of them armed with a machete, and tell them only one of them, i.e. the sole survivor, will have his death sentence transformed into prison for life.

Any minute now, guys. Trust the plan.

Blogger Jeroth May 17, 2019 10:45 AM

Latest headline, Trump is "considering" invoking the Insurrection Act to deport illegal immigrants. How about just shut up and do it?

As long as we are being flooded with immigrants and they are being systematically spread across the US by our own government, I can't take Trump seriously on anything. Only action will change my mind. I am happy that he's not getting us into any wars (so far), but that's kinda like being happy your spouse doesn't commit suicide.

That said, if this does all come together in a grand redemption arc, it will be one of the greatest shows the world has ever seen.

The FBI bit on the trash Steele dossier. Which it used to perpetrate multiple frauds on the FISA Court.

So it could spy on the Trump campaign.

Only to get caught with its hand in the proverbial drink.

Just like it did in the 1970s for perpetrating numerous unauthorized break-ins to obtain evidence.

At this point, the only issues are how hard AG Barr intends to press the case and which piggy squeals first.

IMHO and all that.

Blogger ChevalierdeJohnstone May 17, 2019 11:01 AM

This is the reelection narrative Kushner et al are telling the Boomer in Chief to run with for 2020. The plan is to wave the fig leaf of "They will not impeach us" in front of the low IQ MAGApedes and go radio silent on the bloody carnage of thousands of illegal immigrants zerg rushing over the border ever day about which this administration is doing absolutely nothing, following a new plan laid out by the cabal of Kushner and people like him which calls for a stand down at the border, increases in H1B's and other means of importing more skilled foreign labor (to drive down those wages as well), and of course tax cuts for transnational corporations.

Other distractions they are engineering include putting U.S. troops as close as possible to Iran so they can start a war by claiming that Iran is threatening the bravest and most important citizens of the U.S., which of course are Israelis.

Nothing of importance will happen on the Trump legal front because:

(i) it's just a scam,
(ii) Pelosi and the other intelligent Democrats know it's a scam and are running interference
(iii) The Kushners and Trump are extremely dirty, having laundered money for Semion Mogilevich and the Russian-Jewish mafia, but any prosecutor intelligent enough to bring a credible case to light knows what will happen to him and his entire family if he does.

The net result of this insulting garbage is that the white working class swing voters who elected Trump will not vote for him in 2020. The cabal running the administration while Trump watches TV doesn't care because they fund both sides and will get that they want regardless of who wins. The plan is to reset with a low turnout election that is not a real choice. The rhetoric will be different but the policies enacted will be the same. The only question is how many MAGApedes will keep sucking down this fecal concoction and loudly exclaiming how tasty their God Emperor's diarrhea is.

Remember how Trump negotiates. Start high so you can come down to what you want. Start with treason and "settle" for seditious conspiracy, perhaps, though if they conspired with anyone we're at war with it's treason, and don't forget the war on terror. That's a long and malleable list of enemies. Obama used that logic to justify droning an American citizen, after all.

Penalty for treason:

"18 U.S. Code § 2381 - Treason. Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000;"

'levying war' does not require that there be a declared war. Note the trials during the Jefferson administration.

A lot of demoralizing shills in this comment section. So very intelligent, so wise, so prescient. Tell us again how Trump has a 1% chance of victory against Hilary, how no one will ever strike a blow to even try and rollback Roe v. Wade, how media will never lose their credibility in the eyes of the public and how a vigorous Ruth Ginsburg was seen hiding in a back closet in a darkened theater next to Bigfoot. What's your next prediction for us, and then let us know how much of your own money you put in on it on the gambling websites out there.

Do you realize how obvious it is that you are, at best, fairweather friends? What, did you jump on the Trump train when he started winning and now that you're taking a few lumps you want to stab us all in the back before you jump off? Why can't Benedict Arnolds like you just leave if you hate Trump so much, why try to drag everyone with you? The American Revolution would have failed if led by defeatists like yourselves.

"Worldwide fame came to Washington during the American Revolution, despite the lack of a long succession of great victories. Washington was admired as much for how he handled adversity—and made sure his army outlasted it—as he was for his successes. His forces seemed on the edge of destruction every year after 1775. His army was defeated in major battles at Brooklyn in 1776; it suffered heavy losses in New York and New Jersey in the months after General William Howe smashed it in at Brooklyn Heights; it almost collapsed at Valley Forge where it had endured a terrible winter following defeat at Brandywine and Germantown. In the next three years, the army hardly prospered, usually nearly starving in camp. Its soldiers often proved unreliable—enlisting for short periods, and disappearing homeward bound whenever they could find a way from engagement in the war."

Do any of you demoralizers even know what loyalty looks like? No wonder why Trump has to keep firing people for disloyalty and settling with Jewish tricksters if it's men like you filling the ranks. At least the tricksters pretend they want him to succeed!

On a related note I found this event with George Washington I didn't know about - a possibly true story about how he dealt with treasoners and kept it a secret to keep wartime morale up. Maybe history will repeat itself?
"At the start of the Revolutionary War, the governor [appointed by the royal government] and the mayor of New York, both British loyalists, successfully turned some of Washington’s personal guards against him. They were ready to strike, but Washington found out. The conspirators were arrested and interrogated in secret. Then Washington gathered 20,000 troops and citizens in an open field and had one ringleader hanged for all to see. That sent a clear message to the Loyalists without revealing the plot.
...
The assassination plot is hidden history. When the British were coming, the last thing Washington wanted to say was, “Hey, everyone, my own men just turned on me.” That is not the picture of leadership you want when you are in charge of the military. It’s clear to me that he didn’t want anyone to know this story.

Oh, that's a certainty. The real question is what.

I have contacts down in New Mexico, and one interesting thing is the Border Patrol checkpoint between Las Cruces and Alamogordo is empty, signage covered and road-cone blocked, and unmanned — there are two things this could mean:
(1) the BP agents are operating elsewhere, impeding the invasion, or
(2) the corridor has been opened, accelerating the invasion.

In both cases the media would be motivated to keep the issue quiet: for #1, they can't reveal this without energizing Trump's base; for #2, revealing this would very likely energize "the right" and fuel Citizen-led solutions. — So, either way, the media can't make things like this general knowledge.

One Winged Shark, some of that tradition also included reduction in trials and sentencing after the Civil War, for the good of the nation. Since Adam's and Jefferson it was apparent that there are two political ways of viewing things, ans prosecuting one leads to retaliation and then an autocrat.

Until the late 20th century, where one faction lied, cheated, and stole with impunity. The "readjustment" will be drastic, severe, and also involve dismissals and executions for whining about the 8th Amendment. For some of these people, crucifixions beginning at milestone zero for the guilty is neither cruel nor unusual; it's a reminder.

I was with Trump from at least the first debate when he made fun of Rosie. No one else was with me in my family but I kept saying he was The Guy. Now? I'm embarrassed to admit I ever supported him. But I was a true believer.

The difference is the American Revolution was an actual revolution. What we have today is a fat f****t boomer sitting in office tweeting impotently at his enemies. And the average trump supporter is sitting around creaming his jeans about how Trump is going to drop the hammer on America's enemies because a shitposter on 4chan promised them that it only LOOKS like Trump is an ineffectual fat boomer who is just as corrupt and immoral as the swamp he pretended he was going to drain.

I mean the plan trusting is so obviously retarded. It's completely unfalsifiable. Every time Trump says hes going to do something we get our hopes up, then forget about it when nothing happens. Then when Trump does something counterproductive we call it evidence that he has to fake out his enemies or he is waiting until the right time. That sort of thinking is bordering on insane.

Trump has backed down and actually been counterproductive on the border. He has let his hardcore and regular base followers be silenced and in some cases even imprisoned.

Hes going to pretend to be hardcore again in the lead up to 2020 and you plan trusters are so desperate to fall for it just one more time that it will work and then itll be back to business as usual once the election is over. You have as much perseverance as the Commies do "this time itll be different".

The GOP has been riding this desperation for decades but please go on about how we are the fair weather idiots who aren't willing to see the master plan of this bloviating a hole who has made it clear over and over that he isnt going to make any meaningful change, that he doesnt even want to.

You can talk down Trump in negotiations if you have something to trade; leverage. Question is whether Obama can gain enough leverage over the minions to threaten Obama. If Trump even gets close, his leverage over the Democrats will be immense - though not without obvious risks.

That viper isn't telling Trump anything beyond how to get impeached or thrown out of office.

There's a reason why the Democrats are going after Don Jr, and not Ivanka/Kushner who have been far more politically active.

Eric and Don Jr are the biggest long-term threats to the Democrats, bigger than Pence or Cruz or anybody else, really.

And the best anti-Trumps are Ivanka/Kushner, who are famous for having disowned the Don in polite company before he was regarded a viable Presidential candidate.

An eternity in hell after the firing squad is a lengthy sentence indeed.

"Do any of you demoralizers even know what loyalty looks like? No wonder why Trump has to keep firing people for disloyalty and settling with Jewish tricksters if it's men like you filling the ranks. At least the tricksters pretend they want him to succeed!"

Those tricksters have been there from the first day of the trump admin. So even if the pickings are slim it doesnt explain why he instantly brought the swamp in without any fuss.

You can trust the plan until America becomes a permanent, minority-supported uniparty, or we could shift focus to actual realistic solutions.

William Barr would have to resign if he investigated these people and didn't come back with any indictments. The President couldn't leave him in office, and the left can't dial back from full crazy anymore. They'll never forgive him for refusing to drop the axe on obstruction.

So he has a choice: deliver or die.

Blogger Jeroth May 17, 2019 3:39 PM

I get the point of having faith and trust in a leader, but it's a two way street. What's more demoralizing: Random trolls on the internet, or dangling a birthright citizenship EO in front of everyone right before an election, only to never speak of it again?

I find it coincidental that Mueller decided to wrap up his witch hunt about the same time the twitter cons were passing around scoop that Mueller had a hand in letting Epstein slide.

And really folks about Trump not keeping his promises, what BS, for decades the conservative clowns have not contested the moral level of our political and social conflicts and you expect one Baby Boomer to unravel all that mess of crap in two years?

Watching Owen's streams, he recounts how he learned to deal with hecklers. He could tell they were trying to tear him down and would call them out, but half the crowd wouldn't notice what the heckler had said or done, and so the crowd felt he was over reacting.

So the correct strategy was to let the heckler continue. To act passively in the face of malice, allowing the heckler to piss off the audience, all until that one moment the crowd is demanding Owen to do something about it.

And that moment is when he is freed to do and say anything to the heckler.

We are the crowd. Demand Trump to do something about this. Let that rage and frustration build.

"There's no traditional response for people who break tradition, and vociferously have no respect for it."

Exile, imprisonment, or execution. Maybe not "modern tradition", but it's definitely the other kind of tradition, for everyone everywhere since pretty much forever.

"there's a LOT of corruption, and the tradition of not prosecuting a former president holds a lot of… weight?"

No it doesn't. Not only had very nearly no one ever heard of it until a few years ago, but there's no chance that the other side would show the same magnanimity.

"And really folks about Trump not keeping his promises, what BS, for decades the conservative clowns have not contested the moral level of our political and social conflicts and you expect one Baby Boomer to unravel all that mess of crap in two years?"

This. I absolutely agree in holding the man's feet to the fire, but cucking and turncoating/running away, blackpilling other of his supporters, and generally pursuing dolorousness in a disingenuous manner isn't fooling anyone.

#57 (SH) SSH. Exactly. It's not about strategy and what he should do, what he hasn't done, what he has done, it's about what motivates an Alpha to kick some ass in the open for a closed loop. And if he is not a friendly, to tip his hand. Either way, we're in a better position, for him, or his replacement.

Trump is not a destroyer he is a dealmaker. If he has the high card and knows it, his business instinct will be to negotiate with it for something he really wants - like say a wall. I don't think that heaps of corpses of his enemies thrills Trump quite like ot does for SDL....

I think all talk of Trump and his possible course of action against these traitors should recall 1963. The CIA, FBI, and other agencies have the ability to assassinate a President. They have done it before.

I hope Mr. Trump has good protection and that he knows there are limits to what he can do. I think he does, as I think he is smarter than most of us.

I pray that the President can bring some of these swamp critters to justice.

Blogger Rough Carrigan May 17, 2019 8:01 PM

I get the impulse to call Trump a fraud. I feel tremendous impatience as well. But look at all the people at the top of the DOJ and FBI that he's had to remove in one way or another. If he'd tried to go ahead with all those traitors and criminals in place, without having secured a stronger position in the judicial branch, they would have made a failure of the prosecutions one way or another. How f***ing easy is it to screw up a prosecution? Don't turn over one piece of crappy, not really exculpatory evidence to a defendant and voila! Conviction overturned. Get the wrong judges and seriously not motivated prosecutors and somehow cases fall apart.

They've got Clapper, Brennan and Comey pointing fingers at each other right now to try to avoid blame for the criminal use of the fake dossier. I would have jumped for joy if on January 21, 2017 they had perp walked Brennan. But it seems increasingly clear that it would have been stupid. Trump had traitorous DOJ and FBI leadership and must have had much less proof of Brennan's crimes than he does now. He also didn't have the other rats pressured into squealing yet.

It's been exasperating to have our first glimpse of even an intention for justice to be meted out in many decades and not see its true manifestation yet after two years. But, damn, think it through and recognize that the only way to do this right was it least something like what we've seen.

These same 'black pill pushers' who praised, lauded, and inhaled every anti-American word, action, fiat of the Kenyan who for 8 fucking years destroyed the courts, intel agencies, universities and healthcare now want to lecture us on President Trump's pro-American agenda! (SJW rule #1 #2) It's obvious they're a second rate media operation still covering for the former fraud-in-chief or past members of his administration!
