Bounding Into Comics covers our recent announcement of REBEL'S RUN:
“I was contacted by an experienced producer.” He added, “Then I got contacted by first one producer then I got contacted by other people. Which puzzled me because we’ve published over a hundred books and nobody from the movie industry or TV industry has ever contacted us.”

Vox adds, “I was very curious about this and finally the smartest of the producers that had contacted me said, ‘Well, you have to understand, nobody in Hollywood reads.'”

He went on to praise the level of talent that is part of the film, “The level of talent that is taking in part in this, whether its with Chuck Dixon being the lead scriptwriter…we’ve got a great script, you can see from the trailer, the director, Scooter, has a really great visual eye. We are going to bring so many very strong elements to the table that I think that people are going to be really surprised at the final result.” He continues, “We are actually aiming for one of the best movie soundtracks. I want a soundtrack that is going to stand up against the Matrix, Mortal Kombat Annihilation…”
The third soundtrack I couldn't recall during the stream, and which I consider to be a model along with the others, is Cool World. You might also be interested in last night's Darkstream on the subject, during which I addressed a number of questions that have been raised, such as if Rebel is just another Strong Independent Woman who Knows Kung-fu and Doesn't Need a Man to Save Her.

Very nice trailer -- titles have that combo 80s and comic book feel!

Here's hoping that everyone involved makes a great product (to be expected) and makes beaucoup coin.

Just got through issues 1-3! Very cool! Eager to see how the movie costumes will eventually look.

I am sure it will be vastly better than Captain Marvel and will skip the globalist propaganda.

Cool World soundtrack eh? It's about time we hear some good techno in modern movies.

But does she punch an old lady on a bus?

Has there already been criticism that Rebel's Run is racist and sexist and homophobic?

I will now buy the complete series in anticipation.

Welcome to the party! Better late than never. The first six issues of ALT★HERO are available digitally and in print for the low, low price of $2.99 each.

I recommend you snap up copies of Chuck Dixon's Avalon #1-3 and ALT★HERO: Q Issue #1 also written by Chuck.

How fortunate are we to have The Legend Chuck Dixon and Vox Day teaming up to take the characters from the comics they created to the movie script they'll be writing. No studio honchos or bean-counters telling them what they can and can't do, no sir.

Good on you using a 60's Ford Mustang.

Vox, gotta better integrate your cross-promotions and your online marketing, my man. I put a link to the Castalia Direct page for REBEL's CELL over in the comments at the BIC article.

When I first heard the idea, I did some looking at how movie investments go. Found the linked article from Stephen Follows, and while I'm unsure at the reliability of his data the graph seemed to match up with other things I found.

Roughly a coin flip for whether a movie is profitable or not, most movies make close to their costs. It's the tails where profit and loss are concentrated. Give what Vox and Co. brought to the table, there's no doubt in my mind they will get the positive side of the chart. It's just a question of whether they break even on the investment or hit the big profits.

Best kind of investment you can get your hands on really.

Are theaters under legal agreements to not show movies hollywood doesn't approve and if not will this show in US theaters?

Blogger Archimedes2017 July 05, 2019 1:40 PM

Many of my favorite movies have great soundtracks like the Fifth Element and Blade Runner (1992.) Anything with a John Williams or Henry Mancini score is great too.

My biggest gripe with the Dune movie is the music by Toto. It was monotonous and a drag.

I thought it was Queen.

Blogger weka July 05, 2019 2:53 PM

Queen did Flash Gordan and Highlander

On a related note, my physical copies of ALT HERO #1 to 6 just arrived. That was fast.

I'll be in my sanctum.

I'm so thrilled the team, congrats!

I adore her; talented, beautiful, stunning, long hair, phenomenal storyline. A movie I'd want to see.

This is great stuff.

(((Hollywood))) is not possessed of any kind of special knowledge or talent. they have just been benefiting off of their market/gatekeeper position for decades.

There is a ton of waste in the mainstream film industry. And as much as Tv superhero shows have SJW'd themselves out, they have shown that decent special effects can be done without a crazy big film budget.

That being said, getting into U.S. theaters will be the big roadblock for the film.

Blogger Eli July 05, 2019 5:22 PM

Hey Vox, would you be willing to do a live stream with the director at some point?

Blogger Nation-Deprived July 05, 2019 6:14 PM

Update: Finished reading all 6 issues so far! WOW! When the heck is 7 going to come out?

As I said earlier; welcome to the party! While we're all waiting for the next issues, don't forget Chuck Dixon's Avalon series is also part of the AHU. Issue #4 released digitally just today as Vox posted here:

ALT★HERO: Q #1 also recently released digitally and written by Chuck Dixon as well. Very well received.

Blogger VD July 05, 2019 8:45 PM

Hey Vox, would you be willing to do a live stream with the director at some point?

Sure, probably several.

Blogger Great White July 06, 2019 7:10 PM

If the soundtrack guy is who I think, then that alone should add a few million dollars of value to the enterprise right there. One of the few people that makes music that really makes me feel something when I listen to it.
