You don't say

One of Epstein's prison guards was not even an actual prison guard:
One of the two people guarding Jeffrey Epstein when he apparently hanged himself in a federal jail cell was not a full-fledged correctional officer, and neither guard had checked on Mr. Epstein for several hours before he was discovered, prison and law-enforcement officials said.

Those details emerged on Monday as Attorney General William P. Barr sharply criticized the management of the federal jail in Manhattan where Mr. Epstein, who was accused of sexually abusing dozens of teenage girls, was found dead on Saturday morning.

“We are now learning of serious irregularities at this facility that are deeply concerning and demand a thorough investigation,” said Mr. Barr, who, as the country’s top law enforcement official, is responsible for federal prisons.
Well, I don't know about you, but I'm just flabbergasted to be informed that there were irregularities and infiltrators involved in Esptein's supposed "suicide". We still don't know if Epstein was murdered, if he's being waterboarded in Guantanamo, or if he's being debriefed in Tel Aviv, but regardless, it is obvious to everyone that the Official Story is false.

Next thing they will tell us that Epstein was on day release the day before he died which is when he bought himself a rope that he then smuggled in in his underpants.

I have no doubt that we can trust the FBI and the DoJ to properly "investigate" this.

After all, they have consistently shown themselves to be paragons of honesty and candor.

We will soon learn that at least one employee at the facility on duty at that time was hired only a month ago and has since quit and cannot be found.

I see that the warden of the facility is an obese black female diversity hire. A record of incompetence could make her an easy patsy for a cover-up to hide an extraction.

How does Shapiru have any audience anymore? It would be embarrassing to be associated with little Benji in any way. How many times has he now either obfuscated topics about pedophiles or straight up defended them? His audience has to be completely made up of boomers and gammas that are convinced they are smarter than those MAGA bros that get all the girls.

Basically the whole of the justice system in NY is made of up diversity hires who are not only incompetent but completely on the take. Have we seen one interview with Warden Shirley Clippers-Scott? No. Why? Because it would be rayciss to ask her any kind of question that would display the depth of her stupidity. The (people) that put her and others in these positions know this and hence the system is never investigated, never questioned; bribery is rampant and it is the most corrupt system in the nation. And I have proof!

Blogger dc.sunsets August 13, 2019 8:54 AM

Once again, with feeling: We're moving from John Q Public trusting everything (e.g., those who work for the FedGov are both competent and trustworthy) to John Q Public knowing he can't trust anyone, perhaps not even himself.

Polish officers allowed themselves to be rounded up (without a fight) and marched to their doom because, in the end, they couldn't imagine that THIS was the crisis, THIS was the time to stand and fight to the last round then fix bayonets and rush the MG-42. They trusted...

What happens once "Authority" has so thoroughly taught John Q Public that the "I'm An Official, You Must Obey Me" crowd is dangerous/untrustworthy, even to be assumed-diabolical that when the "cops" show up, they're assumed to be working for the Cartel?

From the laughably incompetent Affirmative Action hire to the worry that the guy/gal in the uniform is just a thug in disguise, all roads lead to removing consent from the pyramid, top-down, layer by layer.

Once that snowball starts rolling, holding an ID that says "G-man" might be like having an Israeli passport on a hijacked airplane in Pakistan.

I was listening to sports radio yesterday and they went off on this for a couple minutes. The host didn't know anything except the bits floating out through the MSM, so he mentioned Epstein knowing Trump, but he also knew Clinton and Prince Andrew are closely involved. Mostly they talked about how sketchy it looks, which is what matters. They aren't buying the official story at all.

Drone footage of the island raid shows NYPD there along with the FBI, which is interesting. It looks like they're packaging up PCs and monitors.

Each person's mind is a committee of "voices" (at least somewhat discrete cognitive pathways) organized into two basic teams (System 1 and System 2 from Kahneman's book) with System 1 being the autonomic system running 24/7 and System 2 being the deliberative mind, which is only invoked occasionally (and often just rubber-stamps action-plans from the System 1 impulsive mind rather than actually being deliberative.)

Our inner child wants to believe that Everything Is Awesome because we exist in a world of candy-crapping unicorns. The last 50 years were a period of unprecedented prosperity, inducing people to become perpetual adolescents, and thus people cling (subconsciously) to a level of childish naivete so unhinged as to be its own mental illness.

This is the theory that can attribute the level of denial and deafening cognitive dissonance we see in every news story. Americans can talk about how corrupt, dysfunctional and even evil is the government/corporation nexus, but we cannot (yet) walk that talk because our pervasive herd-level behavior is being run by that inner child who still thinks a Unicorn is in the back yard. If (when) we resolve that cog-dis, action will be demanded, and that action will shatter the Unicorn-delusions practically everyone harbors.

This (to me) explains the tenacity of this deluded paradigm even as our lying eyes reveal just how irrational everything's become.

What does a society of people do when its members finally reach the paradigm shift, the scales fall from their eyes and they finally embrace the truth, that their society is riven top-to-bottom with irredeemable and intolerable criminality, parasitism and outright evil?

A cataclysm worse than France's revolution and resulting Terror seems most likely.

Blogger Lovekraft August 13, 2019 9:46 AM

@ 20 DCSunsets:

a similar theory is r/K-selection, pushed by blogger AnonymousConservative. R or rabbit-selection is the unicorn mindset. K-selection is the action phase.

Blogger dc.sunsets August 13, 2019 9:48 AM

@18 I once read that a lot of Russians recalled life in the USSR rather fondly, gulags and all. I personally think the era of "big" (as in large polities) is over, and that "breaking up is hard to do."

Rather than gulags, I think Trails of Tears as the "good" outcome. We all know what is the "bad" outcome.

Today's modern marvels that make our lives so indescribably cushy are a product of social cooperation on a scale never before imagined. IMO, we should enjoy them while they last. Globalism, like everything else, had features and bugs. Killing the bugs will also kill the features.

True enough, but you know what's next?

Democrat party talking points that is was Trump/Barr's justice department that let this happen -- it was on their watch that the guy "escaped" punishment.

Of course, such a theme will be a classic case of projection -- despite the fact that Trump and Barr are at the top, it's the DEMS deep state that is acting.

Blogger dc.sunsets August 13, 2019 10:10 AM

@21 Yeah, r/K is interesting enough. I'm currently obsessed with (figuratively) reading the Owners Manual for the human mind, however, and while I suspect I only grasp the snowflake on top of the iceberg, it explains much.

One of the Tips and Tricks I passed to my kids was "There are two kinds of control, self-control and others-control, and if you get to be an adult and lack the former, the latter (others) who will control you come with badges, guns and bad attitudes."

I now realize that self-control is downstream of exercising conscious control of ones thoughts, a process extraordinarily more difficult than simply controlling ones actions.

It turns out we really don't think how we think we think, and (quoting Kahneman) we are very poor judges of our own cognition. Given how saturated is our world with cesspool-level toxic inputs to our minds, there's never been a larger payoff for exercising a degree of conscious control over what we allow into our minds and what we allow our minds to "think about."

We are utterly drowning in people whose actions are navigated by their basest impulses, actions that are then "approved" via sophistry and rationalization (see Milo's new book, right?.) In biological terms, there's been no immediate feedback loop (called death) to tame this for 100 years, and people largely lack the ability to learn from anything less immediate. No wonder everyone now lives like there's no tomorrow. The impulsive mind has no time sense (ever wonder who was driving the last ten miles??) so no sense of what that tattoo will look like in 30 years, or what will be the consequences of adding all kinds of broken furniture (memories) to your attic via actions you'll later regret.

The more horrific the rot that was embedded these last decades (Pizzagate, Epstein, Clintons, British Royals, CEOs all, celebrity academics, etc.) the more our entire society looks like a vicious alcoholic unable to confront all the damage s/he's spread his/her whole life. As AA counsels, the addict has to confront all that history, accept ALL that blame, before moving forward is even possible.

We're all (even monsters like Stalin, Mao, Clinton, Bundy, Manson) heroes in our own Narrative. Confronting the fact that the Bad Guy was us is a barrier though which we must break.

We do not yet appear to be there.

I suspect this all will form a basis for a renewal of very literal Christianity (among otherwise nominally Christian people.)

Blogger Damelon Brinn August 13, 2019 11:23 AM

We'll know they've reached a new level of desperation when you see people in the MSM saying Trump knew about this years ago, so he should go down with them for doing nothing about it. They won't go there yet because that admits too much, but watch for it.

This is precisely why I don't miss having quit watching TV in 1983, and giving away my TV (given to my by my grandma when she replaced hers with a bigger one) in 1998. TV is filled with nothing but filth and lies interwoven into whatever is attractive. It's like cyanide-laced apple pie.

I've been taken by some posters here who will act as if the FBI - the very same rotten-to-the-core organization filled top to bottom with criminals operating under the color of law who attempted to overthrow Trump - is somehow there to collect evidence rather than destroy it.

Anyone who could organise all this could also have organised him not being arrested, or getting the charges dropped - he's got to be in either Gitmo or the WRP.

It's not exactly easy to have someone killed in prison... I think it's on par with finding a good trustworthy mechanic.

Otoh, it's impossible to stop a narcissist from talking WITHOUT killing him.

Blogger justaguy August 14, 2019 12:35 AM

What amazes me is how far the rot of incompetence and corruption has spread in our society. Pretty soon as the rot saps the ability to actually do complex tasks we will start to look like some places in Europe-- depending where you are the water might not be safe to drink and the lights do not stay on 24/7. I guess that working plumbing will go after that.

Of course the rot just makes it easy for the competent but immoral to work the system and run amuck.

Blogger Dirk Manly August 14, 2019 5:20 AM

But that same thing will make it easier for the competent but moral to run amuck, as the cops and other first-responders are tied up continuously without a break. The only local politicians who will survive will be ones who keep a dozen-man police body guard with them AT ALL TIMES. And that's assuming no infiltrators.

Blogger dc.sunsets August 14, 2019 8:49 AM

@35 "Pretty soon as the rot saps the ability to actually do complex tasks we will start to look like"

The cities will go first, esp. the oldest ones on the East Coast. Doesn't NYC still have some wooden sewers? Popcorn time.

Wouldn't it be fascinating if the "crisis" in the War-on-SW-Men and its effect on infrastructure arrived at the same time the Mass Mind no longer believes in continuous compound growth (of IOU's esp.)?

SA blacks don't seem to mind watching the country slide from First World to Cesspit, but I think Americans of European Ancestry will have a little "trouble" giving up plumbing...not to mention powering their iPhoneXIX.

Blogger Dirk Manly August 14, 2019 2:00 PM

Detroit still has wooden 2-inch water mains.

There are several "oasis" locations in various neighborhoods of Detroit, where a main started (and continues) leaking, causing thick, dense vegetation.

Some are in areas where all of the properties have been abandoned and cleared. Others are in still-functioning neighborhoods -- but blacks, for some reason, seem to be totally adverse to calling someone to fix or maintain anything -- even if there will be no charge to themselves (like leaking plumbing in a rental house. People who foolishly get involved with Section 8 for their residential rental properties are amazed at the amount repair that black renters WILL NOT CALL IN. Like plumbing leaking until the ceiling of the room below actually collapses into the room.)

Africa always wins. Even in Detroit.
