900 percent and rising

The Junior Classics campaign is on a roll.

The purpose of The Junior Classics is to provide, in ten volumes containing about five thousand pages, a classified collection of tales, stories, and poems, both ancient and modern, suitable for boys and girls of from six to sixteen years of age. The boy or girl who becomes familiar with the charming tales and poems in this collection will have gained a knowledge of literature and history that will be of high value in other school and home work. Here are the real elements of imaginative narration, poetry, and ethics, which should enter into the education of every child.

This collection, carefully used by parents and teachers with due reference to individual tastes and needs, will help many children enjoy good literature. It will inspire them with a love of good reading, which is the best possible result of any elementary education. The child himself should be encouraged to make his own selections from this large and varied collection, the child's enjoyment being the object in view. A real and lasting interest in literature or in scholarship is only to be developed through the individual's enjoyment of his mental occupations.

I finally popped open the Junior Classics page, they look amazing, and I had a lot of good memories reading those stories as a kid. It's not practical for me to own the hard copies right now, but I absolutely want a set at some point.

Any anticipation of a 2nd run in the years to come given their popularity or is it best to jump on it now?

Blogger VD October 28, 2019 2:31 PM

The regular hardcovers will be available post-campaign.

Can't wait to read these with my kids for years. If Core Civilisation happens that'll be an insta-back too so to speak.

As one of the 50, I did get an email from Service@Castaliahouse and I sent the updated info. I hope the emails weren't lost in a spam folder.

We got your email. The order for everyone who responded by Friday is in process now.

I am very happy for you and this opportunity. You are doing important work.

You have done many, in my opinion, heroic deeds for the Kingdom of YHWH. We are saved by grace, but faith without works is dead (see James). At the time of Henry VIII, Vox would likely have been called a "Defender of the Faith".

Vox:
Upon your explanations (on the importance of) and subsequent publishing launch of the the 'Junior Classics' I recalled that my grandparents may have had those exact volumes of the Junior Classics that you are reprinting. When I inquired, my suspicions were happily confirmed by two family members that indeed this is the case. I am trying to procure them from a unsound (sorry to say) "Never Trumper" cousin, who at 59 yrs old is putting snarky 'Never Trump' bumper stickers on her just purchased mini van, proudly exclaiming them in some cheap, sad, universal virtue signal to..?

Anyway, I digress, I maintain a decent relationship with her because I essentially hold my tongue, so my hopes are to get them from one of her storage's soon. I would love to donate these originals to you at some point, but I don't want to get ahead of myself or the unforeseen possibilities that may/could arise. Just interesting that you triggered the memories of those books, on my grandparents shelves, that I remember fondly now. I always was a BIG reader back then and am so grateful for a 'sound' minded individual such as yourself to listen to, and better understand the world around me by your logical, logos driven (dare I say) doctrine. Hopefully this mini quest will have a warm, cozy shire to 'retire to' at it's end...

Sounds great, RebelNinja. Having access to an existing set would be helpful. Good luck!

I remember a story I read about Charles Eliot.

He was strongly considering expelling a student for moral turpitude.

At a basketball game he observed the student act like he was going to throw a ball at one player...and then he threw it to another!

He was genuinely appalled by the young man's behavior.

A lot of Harvard's now underserved reputation came from his life and work.

Trying to back. Haven't made it through the hurdles yet.

As to Alt-Hero, I've been in another State receiving medical treatment, and have no idea what's been delivered.....

Blogger Crew October 28, 2019 6:30 PM

Well, it's at around 925% already with many days to go.

Beat my projection.

English is not my first language, but I've contributed and God knows I want to read it. I hope to limit stupid activities and find time for printed text different than online.

Initially, my expectations were low because of the "children's literature" to which most of us were exposed in the latter half of the 20th century. However after hearing more about it I am excited to read I mean give this to my kids.

Maybe someday Vox will make a nationalist right version of An Incomplete Education (See William Wilson)?

Blogger thechortling October 29, 2019 8:21 AM

I bought the electronic version and have rigged up an old exercise bike to charge my Kindle reader once our power company starts with the 3rd world power outages in my region of the US. We'll gather around the Kindle and read stories to the grandkiddies.

It'll be interesting to see what IndieGogo does with the blowout over-funding. It seems ripe for SJW tears, hate and fascism maneuvers. If for no other reason than pure jealousy and envy of success but also the 2x4-to-their-face reminder that there are many people globally who are not bowing to their Baals.

I bet they're still bleeding from the last whipping Vox gave them. Probably still tied to the whipping post.

Hi Vox,

I have sent some e-mails regarding the missing Omnibus but never received a response. Just sent another from a different e-mail address in case it's somehow not getting through. Thank you for all you do!

Deus Vult!
