If at first you don't succeed...

Try, try again. The Democrats double down after their first "whistleblower" turned out to have no actual knowledge of the events he was describing:
The attorney representing the whistleblower who flagged President Donald Trump's dealings with Ukraine says a second whistleblower has now come forward.

Mark Zaid told ABC News on Sunday that he is now representing a second whistleblower who has first hand knowledge of events.

Zaid, a Washington lawyer, is already representing the whistleblower at the center of the impeachment inquiry into Trump.

The first whistleblower, who said Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden, is a CIA officer and at one point was assigned to work at the White House, sources said.

The second person who has come forward is also reportedly an intelligence official.
Of course, they said the first guy had first-hand knowledge of events too. Until he was asked to provide it. Interestingly enough, this is the same lawyer who is handling the lawsuit for the Marvel artist accused of tortious interference between Antarctic Press and Comics Matter.

An interesting and unexpected nexus. I wonder why they're so desperate to stop the Trump administration from looking into Ukraine? I don't suppose the massive donations to the Clinton Foundation have anything to do with it, do they?

The more they realize that they have no candidate who can beat Trump in 2020 the more desperate they become in trying to disqualify him.

More smoke and mirrors from the deep state, sending in their operatives. The Dems are simply useful idiots in this whole debacle, there are much more sinister forces at work here.

Honestly, I have that hope too.

I heard about W's "secret plan" to veer far right in his second term from hard-core Republicanistas all the time, so convinced were they then, yet I chortled every time I heard it mentioned.

I don't think the same hope is misplaced this time. We will see. In any case, hope is innervating and appropriate right now.

Telling that this lawyer is involved, considering he has, through the Waid case, trod deeply through all sorts of mechanics to circumvent accountability and justice. Look forward to some revelation about him (my prediction is some type of shady corporate doings/association).

The case of Waid vs Meyer is simply about Waid calling up Meyer's pending publisher (who was 100% on board with the assignment), applying some Mob Persuasion, and the deal gets cancelled. The delays so far in coming to trial is due to Zaid (who BTW is working for Waid pro bono, afaik). The delay in this trial is deliberate. When the decision comes down, it will barely make a trickle, although at the time, it represented a solid blow to the SJW thought police

Both cases boil down to: two sets of rules versus equality before the law.

I have met Zaid on several occasions, starting long before he became famous as a national security specialist. He has helped defend soldiers and analysts who, so far as I could tell, were being unfairly targeted by the Bush or Obama administration.

He has also done pro bono work (successfully, I should add) to help comic collectors who were defrauded. A couple lawyers who tried to work with him on civil cases backed out and were not shy about expressing their lack of confidence in his skills.

Blogger Better Left Unsaid October 06, 2019 12:02 PM

I think Schiff & company had one chance to make their case for impeachment and they blew it with the first obviously staged whistleblower complaint. There were so many problems with it and Trump counter-attacked so quickly and effectively to point out how lame and partisan it was that I don't think they will gain any further traction with this second guy.

I think it also inoculates Trump against any future accusations.

Been reading about Julian the Apostate lately. Beyond the Apostate thing, what got him in trouble is he was trying to reform the Empire. All those whose rice bowl depended on being the head fluffer or what ever suddenly found themselves staring poverty in the face.
Trump's issue is that the government sector hates him and what he stands for. They view Pence as "better" because he is less likely to cut off the money stream to the .gov and "contractors".

If Trump is elected again, expect more active measures.

They must really, really have been caught flat-footed by Trump immediately releasing the transcript of the call in question. What can a whistleblower possibly produce about the call that is more authoritative than that? So flat-footed that the only plan they've had is to continue on with the original plan despite that plan immediately taking on a hole below the waterline.

My best guess is that the whistleblower is going to vaguely recall memories about being with Trump at a college party and how his friends forced the whistleblower's flaccid manhood into Trump's face or something. What else can they have? It'll be interesting watching them try to answer that question.

Blogger James Dixon October 06, 2019 3:10 PM

> Basically hand over the evidence that confirms the account provide by the whistleblower.

It did nothing of the kind. It confirmed that it was a perfectly normal call in which the President, as the highest ranking federal law enforcement official in the land, requested the aid of a foreign dignitary in an ongoing investigation. Something that is well within his authority and is done all the time. There's nothing illegal or unconstitutional about it.

Blogger Ingot9455 October 06, 2019 3:11 PM

@33 It only confirms the whistleblower account if you're a crazy liberal. If you're a normal person, it reads like a combination stump speech and anti-corruption efforts by the President.

The whistleblower accuses a quid pro quo, which is not present. And the more they dig the more they find there wasn't any quid pro quo.

Blogger Justin Bailey October 06, 2019 3:14 PM

Blogger Krymneth October 06, 2019 3:25 PM

Peter, you are in the midst of a community that can read. Probably most of us have directly read the official transcript. I know I have. Claiming it supports the liberal narrative isn't going to fly here. There was nothing wrong in there. In fact, it was downright pedestrian. If that's an "impeachable offense" then every President we've ever had has done something impeachable every day they spent in office. That's dialectic, not just rhetoric.

Though the thought has definitely occurred to me that the Democrats are abusing most people's total ignorance of statecraft, or even just basic business communication. If you have no idea what it looks like and what normal is, you might fall for anybody's claims about what lacks propriety.

The weird thing as I think about that is, why was this the hill they're choosing to die on? Surely even a randomly selected call the President has made would seem more incriminating? This isn't a hill they're choosing to die on so much as a small hump. This is really the best they could do?

Blogger JAG October 06, 2019 3:31 PM

Couple of G.E. quotes on this subject.

From Twitter:

"The Democrats are lucky that they don’t have any Mitt Romney types. They may be lousy politicians, with really bad policies (Open Borders, Sanctuary Cities etc.), but they stick together!"

Calling out the cuck traitors in the GOPe.

Other quotes:

“The Biden family was PAID OFF, pure and simple!”

“The fake news must stop making excuses for something that is totally inexcusable.”

“Sleepy Joe won’t get to the starting gate, & based on all of the money he & his family probably ‘extorted,’ Joe should hang it up,”

“It is INCREDIBLE to watch and read the Fake News and how they pull out all stops to protect Sleepy Joe Biden and his thrown out of the Military son, Hunter,”

This man fights.

I suspect but can't prove that this was the Democrats last ditch hope of getting a Trump primary that the rest of the party can pretend they have to take seriously.

Mitt Romney to be exact.

Mind you Mitt is the only one who thinks he can actually do it.

The Dems don't care about Mittens actually winning the nomination, they know he doesn't have a hope in hell of doing that let alone winning the general.

That's not he point. The objective is force Trump to start campaigning earlier than he was going to and thus be more worn and battered by the time the general election comes around next November, than he would be if he didn't.

The current panic in the mainstream seems over the top for a simple financial crime.
Would involvement in the Ukraine revolution in 2014 and involvement in the looting that came after fit the bill? Weren't there stories in the mainstream that Ukraine's gold was stolen in the after math?
If I remember, Manafort was charged as an unregistered foreign agent for Ukraine while he was working for Tony Podesta.
Which reminds me, 'Q' has mentioned that the Ukraine was a hub for Human Trafficking.

I'm sure the Democrats would happily view that as a bonus.

Now I admit my hypothesis has a major flaw in that it assumes the Democrats are capable of planning ahead.

They can plot and lay traps but they have a remarkably bad record at predicting how Trump will react to them. Where as he has had no trouble at all in predicting their next moves.

If Romney has been able to attract any major donors (and Trump wouldn't be this pissed at him if he wasn't calling them), expect the leaks of a possible run by Mittens next week..

From the articles available so far, it appears the "2nd whistle blower" has as his/her source the exact same information as the 1st "whistle blower," namely, second hand conversations about the Ukaraine phone call. So why are we only now hearing about this 2nd whistle blower? Because it's all a media/deep-state coordinated clown show.

It's funny how much this all feels just like the Kavanuagh debacle from exactly a year ago. Then as now, the media role out of the story began with a 2-3 day "priming" of the "existence of a scandal" before any real information was made available. And I remember how predictable it was that a "second accuser" and then a "third accuser" were rolled out right on que to create more pressure one the cuckservatives to cave.

At this point I won't at all be surprised if we find out the 1st whistle blower is Christine Crazy-Ford and the 2nd "expert blower" is Deborah Ramirez. What's the over/under on the 3rd whistle blower story dropping in exactly one more week? Ever notice how they usually roll out the "bomb shells" on the weekend?

And, if he knew that Schiff et al were trying to cook up an excuse for impeachment, his people baited the Dems with a false story of what the phone call was, maybe even a false transcript? So he gets them to go forward and then releases the real transcript and they can't say anything about a fake one that they got wind of in the course of illegal machinations. They're just stuck hitching their impeachment wagon to a steaming pile of merde.

It's important (and on topic) because these are the same people who interfered with the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The law firm representing the whistle blowers has a third lawyer that no one talks about, but his bio is interesting, he was the previous inspector general for the intelligence community that reported directly to James Clapper. Hows that for connections? Also, the current inspector general, that said the whistle blower's complaint was credible, has connections to the Russian collusion investigation while he was at Justice, that makes him suspect in my book as well. We can't seem to get very far from the conspirators to the coup, can we?
