The UK election

A big Conservative win is projected by the exit polls.

368 Conservatives
191 Labour
55 Scottish National Party
13 Liberal Democrats

The projected majority of 86 would be the biggest Tory majority since 1983 and 191 seats would be the worst Labour performance since 1935. The Brexit Party is not projected to win any seats and the Greens are only projected to win one.

These results are very good news, as they indicate that the multigenerational trend towards nationalism about which I've been writing for the last few years not only continues apace, but is in the process of entering another expansionary phase.

Blogger Derrick Bonsell December 12, 2019 5:45 PM

The SNP surge is probably a result of the notoriously pro-EU Scots feeling that Corbyn's wishy-washy position on Brexit is fundamentally support for leaving the EU.

Blogger God Emperor Memes December 12, 2019 5:47 PM

Excellent. At least Corbyn can be consigned to oblivion.

God Bless Boris. I knew he had it in him. He has the charm that an English leader needs to have to be remembered. Wait 50 years for the history books to gush over how great he was.

Blogger WillBound December 12, 2019 6:02 PM

I'm just hoping, once he's achieved his aim of getting rid of Corbyn, that Boris doesn't find "reasons" to renege on leaving the EU.

Apparently the Conservatives are meant to get 46% of the vote. Wow, if that happens.

Blogger Korbin Ransley December 12, 2019 6:13 PM

Sounds good. I don't trust the voting system here in the states, but I suspect the British system might have less vote rigging. Maybe leftist and Globohomo might rely more on fake polls and media manipulation there.

Hoping for big wins for Brexit, and the British people. Looking forward to the Darkstream.

Blogger Dole December 12, 2019 6:14 PM

The end results are likely to be even better than the predictions. Conservatives do not answer polls, especially with the weaponized media around.

Farage apparently didn't have the Brexit Party run anywhere that the Tories might win, in an effort to avoid causing problems for Brexit. Good on him for remaining principled.

Supposedly 65 seats are "too close to call." Not sure how dated that is. Although, it really doesn't matter, Conservatives will still have the government.

Blogger John Best. December 12, 2019 6:40 PM

Labour is losing thousands of votes to the Brexit party in seats they held at the last election. While the Conservative vote is holding. The swing from Labour to the Brexit party will win the Conservatives this election and a big majority, if the swing holds.

@18 no. The English nation is voting as one for the first time in generations. The Conservatives and Boris will have to adjust to this reality, and the English nation uniting is a wonderful thing. Morale is rising.

Blogger Cataline Sergius December 12, 2019 6:41 PM

From what I'm reading, Labour being under two hundred seats is an earthquake.

I keep seeing, "the Red Wall is crumbling."

Blogger bramley December 12, 2019 6:44 PM

I predict a pyrrhic victory in a sense for the native peoples of Britain if these figures hold true, as this lot of Conservatives are no better than anybody else in terms of Homoglobbing it up, but we might finally receive some form of result on the mandate we gave the government nearly three and a half years ago, which would be a start in the right direction. Labour spanked it hard on the canvassing and propaganda, but they over-played their hand and most people know that Labour don't care about them unless they are lame BAMEs. It's a show of force from the people, yet again, indicating a desire to be freed from the continental yoke and the whip-hand of globalism. The screams of pain from the red wedge will be hilarious.

Blogger Dole December 12, 2019 6:52 PM

@18 No, this means the pendulum is working its magic. The constant defeatism is tiring, rather focus on getting tired of winning.

Let all mortal flesh keep silence,
And with fear and trembling stand;
Ponder nothing earthly minded,
For with blessing in His hand,
Christ our God to earth descending
Comes our homage to demand.

King of kings, yet born of Mary,
As of old on earth He stood,
Lord of lords, in human vesture,
In the body and the blood;
He will give to all the faithful
His own self for heavenly food.

Rank on rank the host of heaven
Spreads its vanguard on the way,
As the Light of light descendeth
From the realms of endless day,
Comes the powers of hell to vanquish
As the darkness clears away.

At His feet the six winged seraph,
Cherubim with sleepless eye,
Veil their faces to the presence,
As with ceaseless voice they cry:
Alleluia, Alleluia
Alleluia, Lord Most High!

Blogger Gallant December 12, 2019 7:35 PM

Conservatives are kind of cucked but this is a better, more winning, outcome than Labor winning - Labor, who would have suppressed speech and done even more to bring in voters. This way, conservatives can at least do something if they can be shown that they're importing those who would vote against them.

What this shows too is what a Scotland independence could mean. . . . imagine taking those 50 SNP seats (which are defacto labor anyway) - England+Wales would shift FAR to the right. A smaller country that you could build on is better than a bigger country you lose.

Assuming reality meets these exit polls, and assuming a good Brexit. . . today is as good a today as we could hope for.

Blogger damaris.tighe December 12, 2019 7:50 PM

Now we're back to a species of the May position just with the affable, rumpled "churchillian" figure of Boris pasted on the front.

Matthew Goodwin, he of the New Formula fame, writes books on the Radical Right.
A number of academics and activists in this area are conveniently grouped in the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right (CARR). It is interesting to compare Goodwin's book with Yoram Hazony's "Nationalism".

If you want to know the status of the thinking on dissidents and populism this is a good place to go for a look.

Rockin good news.

Back in NZ for Christmas and New Year holidays. Street party at the in-laws last night and the election was a big topic of conversation. I was the only one predicting a big Tory win, and in the face of a stream of bullshit about how the British were foolish, ignorant and deceived by "radical demagogues" I told them, no, the British people are pissed off. Quite a lot of their anger is that their own "representatives" of all parties in parliament have been actively trying to subvert the results of the brexit vote while simultaneously waxing lyrical about democracy.

I freely admit I wasn't 100% sure the British would back me up on that, but it looks like they have.

Blogger The Pitchfork Rebel December 12, 2019 11:24 PM

Blogger StrongCoffee61 December 12, 2019 11:51 PM

100% about Nationalism.
0% about libertarianism.

At least, that's my take from across the pond.

Trump had better learn from this.

Secure the border and gigantically reduce legal immigration, reject free trade, and stay out foreign conflicts.
This will be far more powerful than the traditional CONservative and neocon crap.

Cons have 333 seats out of 650, with another 45 seats to be decided. They have a clear majority, won't have to form a coalition, right? If they can't deliver Brexit, they have no one to blame but themselves.

I hope the new "Conservatives" voted in from districts that are historically Labour remember that the only reason they have their new job is to get a sane Brexit finished. I don't care if they give Boris a hard time when he tries to wield his new majority to do other Conservative party issues, and to be honest they probably should, if they are listening to their constituents. But this election has made clear what single issue is the most important one.

Blogger cyrus83 December 13, 2019 1:57 AM

The exit poll was pretty spot on, just slightly rosier than the final results. Boris has a very solid majority with which to push through Brexit. And if the results inspire Scotland to bolt the UK, so much the better for England.

Best wishes to the prime minister and the English. Also good on Nigel Farage for having the wisdom to put Brexit ahead of his own political fortunes. The Brexit party may not have won many if any ridings tonight, but Farage should now see his goal achieved.

Blogger mrpinks December 13, 2019 3:17 AM

Although this is a long-overdue and unnecessary victory (May excelled in being a globalist stooge) we shouldn't think the left and its allies (globojihadinc) will lay back and let us proceed.

Both physical and psychological attacks are certain to come, with their primary goal of preventing any communication with the masses as to why Brexit is necessary (which, IMO, is Islamic terror/demographic colonization)

Blogger Jonathon Davies December 13, 2019 5:42 AM

The Tories are prefereable to Labour. However, it is highly questionable whether they are nationalists. Boris Johnson is a "one nation" conservative and favours immigration. There are a few good eggs like Jacob Rees-Mogg, but I don't think the boats will stop crossing the Channel anytime soon.

No. Yes, Bob Prechter wrote it back in 1999 or thereabouts.

The map of results by constituency for the UK is amazing. Nearly everything is blue (Conservative, for you yanks), except for most of inner-city London, the north-west (greater Manchester, Liverpool), Yorkshire, Birmingham and Leicester, parts of south Wales, and the north-east, (which is so ingrained to vote Labour they'd choose a brain-damaged donkey if it was running under the red rosette). It's a real rebellion of the shires versus the cities. The true Britain knows what's best for them.
