Why Mitt Romney is such a cuck

He's been wholly owned from the start of his career in financial piracy:
In 1984, Mr Romney set up Bain Capital, the firm's investment arm, overseeing fundraising from his Boston office. Corporate files obtained by The Daily Telegraph show that Lyons, whom Bain hired to help set up its British office, was his first investor, putting in $2.5 million via a front company in Panama.

Colleagues from the time said in interviews with The Daily Telegraph that the "unlamented" Lyons, the Yorkshire-born retail magnate and close ally of then-prime minister Margaret Thatcher, also reported back to Boston that he had signed up Maxwell, a friend and fellow City giant. "Jack took an interest in Bain almost as if we were his sons," said one Bain executive based in London at the time. "He wanted us to succeed in the UK and he introduced us to a lot of people . . . I remember attending a luncheon in London with Robert Maxwell."

Maxwell, an avowed socialist, invested through his British print firm, which was ultimately controlled by his secretive foundation in the tax haven of Liechtenstein. Lyons's nephew, Graham, and a trust in his name, invested a further $225,000. Graham Lyons, now a barrister in London, declined to discuss Mr Romney's fund, adding: "I'm not in finance." He referred queries to Lyons's son Jonathon, who did not respond.

A string of Bain partners invested about $12 million of their own money; Mr Romney putting up at least $160,000. Millions more came from investors in other tax havens including the Bahamas and Switzerland, and powerful families from El Salvador, some of whom were later linked to Right-wing "death squads" responsible for murders in their country's civil war. The $37 million fund was a great success, funding among others the global expansion of Staples, the stationers. According to a prospectus, it yielded an average return of 173 per cent a year on stakes in 21 firms, making millions in profits for its investors. "Every couple of years I would get a cheque," one recalled. "It was always a lot more than I had put into it". One Bain executive said: "Bain Capital is now a multi-billion dollar fund, and it's made Mitt very wealthy".

Maxwell died in suspicious circumstances in 1991 at the age of 68. It emerged he had plundered hundreds of millions of pounds from employee pension funds to plug holes in company finances, prompting a partial bail-out by British taxpayers.
Republicans should be horrified that they ever ran this guy as their presidential candidate. He would have been worse than Obama. Remember, Maxwell and Epstein are precisely the same thing.

There are some people I've gotten a gut reaction to seeing a few minutes of video and not trusting. Crowder, Fuentes fall in this category, but Romney even more so. Crowder and Fuentes I withheld judgement because people I respected were giving them some leeway. I don't think I ever had someone I trusted tell me to cut Romney that type of slack. Maybe it is because I come from Michigan, where he grew up and his father was a left leaning Republican. In politics, the apple seldom falls far from the tree (I only say that because there is always a possible exception. Just never seen one).

Maxwell and Epstein are precisely the same thing.

Robert Maxwell, unless I'm mistaken, is Ghislaine Maxwell's father. "Same thing" may be meant figuratively in the sense of owning and handling their associates...or literally, as in tight family connections.

Having grown up deep in Mormon-ville as a non-Mormon, I only needed to know that Romney was from a high-ranking Mormon family to know that he was bought and paid for by a cloudy, sordid mix of financial and political powers. Confirming links to Epstein isn't exactly a surprise given the circles elite Mormons travel in.

Blogger Glen Sprigg December 27, 2019 9:33 AM

I find it difficult to believe that Romney would have been as bad as Obama; he still would have sucked, but Obama was on a whole other level of suck. Obama was so bad that he convinced a complacent population that the usual way of doing things in politics had to be stopped, leading directly to Trump's election (and landslide re-election next November). Even Romney couldn't have done that.

Crap. It WOULD have been worse had Romney won in 2012, because the Canklebeast would have beaten him in 2016.

Blogger xevious2030 December 27, 2019 9:40 AM

Yep, Romney would have been absolutely horrible. Didn’t vote for the dude. Obama was there for just a few ticket items, and that was it, mostly obligations to Iran. Iran being one of the people at the table of the big power broker elites. That was his promise to bring at the table for the interests he represented. It’s why Obama had control of the House and Senate, got a few items passed, but left tons of other ticket items undone, put on the breaks. Could have passed tons more.

Obamas big role, after meeting obligations with Iran, was supposed to be post presidency at the UN as an intermediary, being a former head of state, and thus a onetime voted on representative of the US as a whole, with past clearance and codes holding as the justification. Trump dried that one up. Anyway, Iran may not seem like a big deal, especially with all the CIA manipulation of this or that, but they are one of the ancient nations, having one of the ancient empires. They’re a people with a Prince, a Principality. Persia. People forget those things were set up a long time ago, and they do not go away simply because they are jockeyed at a much lower position or status at some point in time. Long term, they’re a big deal. Anyway, Romney would have been bad. But he was there to hold the place, keeping Obama safe for a second term election.

https://cis.org/Mormon-Church-and-Illegal-Immigration

The Mormons are gaining numbers from illegal converts. Could they also be making money off human trafficking? Could this also be a reason Romney and Flake are antiTrump? They want to stop his wall, because it will hurt the Mormon Church's trade in illegals. Just a thought. I never liked Romney, and I always have thought he threw the election to make sure Obama got a second term.

"I find it difficult to believe that Romney would have been as bad as Obama."

Romney would not have been as bad as Obama. He would have been markedly worse.

Under Romney, immigration reform (amnesty) would have happened.

Under Romney, the ACA would have been "fixed" and cemented into law.

Under Romney, the Republican opposition to Obama (spineless as it sometimes was behind the likes of Ryan and McCain) would have mostly dissolved, and Romney would have had free rein to pass all manner of "bipartisan" bills that advanced globalist and progressive agendas.

With Romney winning in 2012 (and presumably running for reelection in 2016), Trump never would have been president.

Not just as bad, but much, much worse. It is vastly better to let terrible cucks like Mittens lose badly one election so that we can actually win with a strong candidate at the next election. Losing to Obama means losing once. Winning with Romney means losing twice.

If Romney were elected in November of 2012, and Sandy Hook happening a month later, he would have pretty much put Massachusetts style gun laws in all over the USA, basically meaning, if you wanted more than a single shot rolling block break action, you would need to jump through 50 hoops and be on a list that gets looked at every time a 13 percenter commits one of the 52 percent of homicides.

Romney is trying to become the new McCain as well. McCain should serve as a perfect example of why Constitution 2.0, which will be ratified in the rubble, will have term limits.

I was too checked out of politics in 2012 to remember how they tried to sell Romney to conservatives. I guess they didn't very well, since he didn't win.

McCain at least had the dubious distinction of his military career to trigger conservative salutes. What did Romney have, other than a big family portrait that he was probably embarrassed about because it was too white?

Blogger Akulkis December 27, 2019 2:12 PM

"I find it difficult to believe that Romney would have been as bad as Obama; "

Consider the same level of hostility towards the interests of the typical American, but rather than being tagged in citizens' minds to the left, instead tagged to the (phony) right, thereby further poisoning the reputation of the right in the minds of the general public.

THAT is how Romney could have been worse.
And yes, it would have resulted in Hillary bringing covens into the White House.

@18

"The Mormons are gaining numbers from illegal converts. Could they also be making money off human trafficking? Could this also be a reason Romney and Flake are antiTrump?"

It's more than that. A bit over a year ago, someone noticed that nobody could account for over 100 kids in the Arizona foster care system. An investigation was done. Clear trails were found leading to John McStain, Jeff Flake, and Mitt Romney. The report came out several months after McStain's funeral.

That right there shows you why those 3 all oppose(d) and and all means of effective border enforcement.

#37. The gun laws here in Massachusetts aren't quite that bad. What actually counts here is your town's police chief. He has the authority to issue concealed carry licenses or not (I forget if a chief can stop you from getting a permit). In the largest cities in the state, Boston, Worcester, Springfield and a couple more, you essentially cannot get a concealed carry license. In all but a few of the other towns the process is pro forma.

Vote socialist. give them unbridled power, and watch them destroy themselves. Jorge Romney famously claimed to have been "brainwashed" by officials over the Vietnam issue. A guy who had a legitimate shot at the Republican nomination in '68 admitted to brainwashing during the campaign. That's the Romney Way.

Yes, the cuckery never ends. Obama SEALs are all "in anguish" over Trump interfering in the Gallagher witch hunt. This is the legacy of Obama's attack on the military, where standards across the board were lowered so much that whiny millenials end up on SEAL teams criticizing their far more hardened commanders. Guys like Gallagher are to be prosecuted while Lt. Col Vindman is somehow an Army Ranger and a Purple Heart recipient.

Word to the clueless: "war crimes" are what you charge your enemy with when they lose a war. It is not something you use against your own soldiers, in-country, with ongoing hostilities. If you don't like what the US military does in foreign countries, then the answer is simple: withdraw the US military from foreign countries. Let someone else secure the opium trade.

American Motors Corp. The non-Big Three, American corporation, taken over and ruined by foreign grabblers. I'm beginning to think that letting in foreigners is a really bad idea.

Facepalm.
I cant think of a bigger rolling hunk of shit than the Vega.
Tires strapped to the roof are a nice touch

Engagingly ugly, maybe. Not such a rolling turd as a Pinto, maybe. Sold better than the Edsal, I think.

Tires looked cool on the hood of a Land Rover.

Mitt always gave me the impression he was bona fide demon spawn. Sulfates probably precipitate out of his sweat.

Sulfates are typically odorless. Try mercaptans.

Ahh yes forgot about the Pinto.
Gremlin, Pinto and Vega. The holy trinity of crap models dumped on the American Consumer before the Japs rescued us.

Nothing wrong with a Pinto or a Gremlin.

If you'd had the Pinto I had, you wouldn't say that.

The Vega wasn't an AMC product.
It was made by Chevrolet.
Being that Chevy was the low-tier brand in GM's line-up, it's not surprising that it would be sub-par.

At least back then, there was room enough in the engine compartments to work without having to play "guess which precise combination of ratchet extensions are needed to turn this bolt."

Pintos were a real luck-of-the draw sort of affairs.

In college, I had a friend who bought up an old Pinto, and threw a 454 (cubic inch) into it... which fit WITHOUT having to cut a hole in the hood -- because engine compartments were roomy, and engines didn't have 3 layers of clutter on top of them like the ones made these days.

When he happened to be at the front of the line at a stop light even with some souped-up muscle car, he'd rev the engine a bit while waiting for the light to change. Having to pull 500~1000 lbs less weight than the muscle cars (which were all built on large sedan frames, even though built as 2-door models), the Pinto-with-a-454 always blew their socks off.

If you want to read a nasty polemic take down of Mitt read The Great Deformation by David Stockman.I loved it.
