The killbox of democracy

This is for discussing events in Richmond today. One hopes it will be an uneventful day of successfully protesting the recent assault on Second Amendment rights by the Virginia state government, but we will see.

You may ask yourself “Why is Virginia sending plain clothes officers to the pro-civil rights rally in Richmond today? What possible use would they be at crowd control?” To ask this question is to answer it: None at all. Unless the real goal is provocation.

The powers-that-be have already announced that there will be only one way in or out of the center of Richmond. And that the police will make no effort to separate the peaceful marchers from the violent counter-protesters. Just exactly like they did in Charlottesville.

Their goal is not to keep the peace. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Antifa's a wild card in Richmond today. Local Antifa groups have vowed to JOIN the 2A protesters, not to oppose them. They view the Dems' gun grab as a fascist-type move, and it's hard to argue otherwise.

You know, the US Constitution isn't the only one in play here. Virginia's got a constitution of its own and in it the right to bear arms is more clearly and unambiguously defined than it is in the US Bill of Rights.

Not that this has stopped the Virginia Supreme Court, of course. As we have seen, these magical "penumbras and emanations" unleashed by our judicial elite are really something unreal and now epidemic among the black-robed class. Well it's long, long past time for people to say "Stop the madness."

"A state of emergency does not suspend Constitutional rights. However, a group of citizens took Northam's ban to court and a circuit court judge upheld it. The Virginia Supreme Court refused to hear the appeal"

So the Court(s) don't care what the law is. There may not be a Santa Claus but Yes, Virginia, there is a 2nd Amendment.

Blogger theartistformerlyknownasgeorge January 20, 2020 10:40 AM

Can't say that I don't expect some dude with two last names causing trouble.

Of course none of the protesters will recall him being with their group, but in spite of this he will be displayed as a typical 2A guy.

Blogger Akulkis January 20, 2020 10:53 AM

I hope this doesn't blow up, but if it does, everyone should recognize this: it's not been a matter of if, but of when and where, because the left has been INTENT on pushing, and pushing, and pushing things until it does.

Every step backwards in an always fruitless quest to "be reasonable" and be viewed as such just is another step closer to slavery.

Blogger Stg58/Animal Mother January 20, 2020 11:02 AM

Given the turnout of armed men outside the fence, I'll be impressed if the law enforcement command in scene fades back and does nothing, as if they never had any plans to do otherwise.

I'm always torn on such matters of "fighting for freedom".
On the one hand, freedom can be worth fighting for.
On the other, seeing what people do with their freedom, why should I bleed for their delusions, debauchery, and degeneracy? How long should I look upon little boys in drag and say "Well, at least we're not speaking German".
Maybe freedom is not a "thing" to fight for, or fighting for freedom is like not having a specific goal?
I don't know.

Blogger swiftfoxmark2 January 20, 2020 11:18 AM

While the powers that be, besides the Trump camp, want another Charlottesville incident, that's not going to happen. The Unite the Right rally was run by a former leftist, recently turned pro-Trump Alt-Right activist. It was basically organized by idiots and morons and was set up to be a failure.

This one features a broader range of people who all agree that what the Virginia Assembly and Governor are trying to do is a blatant violation of guaranteed rights.

Blogger Mr.MantraMan January 20, 2020 11:28 AM

FTR I thought it a stupid idea to go to Richmond armed or even unarmed. That said this looks peaceful and everyone in a good mood and all that, and in part because so many people worked on exposing the Left and their part in ginning up C-ville.

Blogger swiftfoxmark2 January 20, 2020 11:29 AM

By the way, the Virginia Assembly is looking into passing some other stupid laws:
1. Make VA's Electoral votes go to the popular vote winner. Which will be Trump this year.
2. Make the Governor's race be won based on Congressional districts, rather than the popular vote in the state. (Yeah, I see the irony there too)
3. Give felons the "right" to vote.
4. Give the Governor the ability to serve 8 consecutive years instead of just 4. Right now, the VA Governor can only serve one term then must wait until the next term is over before running again. Usually, most Governors don't bother seeking a second term.

Blogger tublecane January 20, 2020 12:27 PM

You ever have one of them "out of context experiences," and wonder why the state could possibly not protect regular citizens from masked thugs?

Like, how do street terrorists who show up in masks intent on either violence or merely having their way if no one opposes them, get to walk in broad daylight as though it's normal.

The only explanation is the actual truth: they're shock troops for the state. Or rather the people who happen to be running thangs. They are welcome.

Sometimes they're unwelcome, and then cops do their jobs and beat them up. Same as with chimped-out blacks.

@24 Doktor Jeep

True freedom is only found in Christ, ergo any society that promotes license as freedom will quickly be enslaved to Satandom.

If I were to walk up to William Wallace and say that boys in drag is freedom he'd chop my head off. In the pre-enlightenment our concept of freedom was not what they called freedoms, plural. Those freedoms included self-determination in the old tribal sense, aka clannishness moreso than nationalism, emancipation from slavery. Exemption from arbitrary rule, which means being ruled by God's and the Church's law and one's cultural norms. In the English heritage it would be being subject to English Common law, not the whims of a despot. In my ancestral heritage the equivalent would be Visigothic law. Rule by the Church in religious affairs and not the Mullah's would be a freedom in my ancestor's case too, not this freedom of religion nonsense.

Other freedoms included Noble privileges, yeoman privileges, privileges of your class, which yes included peasants too. The concept of freedom was not singular nor about license to do whatever you want until the satanic Enlightenment.

I would be freer, paying less taxes in a medieval kingdom as a blacksmith or a carpenter being subject to either Catholic or Orthodox cannons and the Visigothic legal code in old Spain then I am now in America.

Though there would be no freedom of speech, I would be freer to speak the Truth. Though there would be no freedom of religion, I would be freer to praise my God in every part of my life. Though there would be no Second Amendment, I and my son would be expected to own and be trained with the spear, the sword or the bow.

When immigrants come, in such a society I would be expected to fight back, not welcome the invader. No no-fault divorce, child support, no honoring a guest tribe that actively tried to subvert my people.

Have an idea of what freedoms are worth fighting for now?

And they wonder why nobody believes them.

I noticed them things on the news while their video showed the exact opposite as far bac as the 1970s.

(Example: Narration that Group A is committing violence against Group B, while showing video of Group B committing all the violence against passive members of Group A).

Blogger tublecane January 20, 2020 12:52 PM

@24- Freedom is one thing. But that's not what the rally is supposedly about. It's about a cluster of very useful privileges. Ones without which defending anything--freedom-related or otherwise--becomes much more difficult.

Maybe you don't want to defend a society that's gone mad letting transvestites indoctrinate children. And that's fine. But perhaps instead think of it as guns granting you a choice down the road to drive transvestites out and restore whatever privileges you like.

Virginia Sheriffs and deputies marching with the VLDC, with Sheriff Richard Vaughan of Grayson County, VA stating, "If the bills go through as proposed, they will not be enforced. They are unconstitutional.”

Sheriffs and deputies are the footsoldiers who the GloboHomos expect to fight this war for them.

The Sheriff's interest in this is tangible. If there are outrageous laws on the books which they should not enforce, that breeds contempt for the law in general, making their job far more difficult.

Your daily reminder that these laws openly violate the plain language of the Virginia state constitution, and not merely the fusty old national one:

>Section 13. Militia; standing armies; military subordinate to civil power

>That a well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state, therefore, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; that standing armies, in time of peace, should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.

>Section 10. General warrants of search or seizure prohibited

>That general warrants, whereby an officer or messenger may be commanded to search suspected places without evidence of a fact committed, or to seize any person or persons not named, or whose offense is not particularly described and supported by evidence, are grievous and oppressive, and ought not to be granted.

Blogger The Pitchfork Rebel January 20, 2020 3:43 PM

"You may ask yourself “Why is Virginia sending plain clothes officers to the pro-civil rights rally in Richmond today?".

A quibble with the term "plain clothes". Use the adjective "secret"

It's really just the latest installment of the leftist penchant for secret police. An open and uniformed constabulary are instruments of law and order, secret police infiltrating lawful gatherings of citizens exercising their lawful rights is an instrument of fear and oppression.

Kessler's problem was allowing Spencer to basically take over. Kessler refused to be photographed doing Nazi solutes and this infuriated Spencer. Spencer went behind his back and ordered people to ignore Kessler, to keep Kessler out of the loop and instead put everything through himself.

Kessler isn't exactly a genius, but he was not really to blame for the massive screw ups. He was naive. That was his biggest flaw from what I know of the situation.

They were, and they did.

But there were over 20,000 more in support and carrying arms to keep them safe from any sort of molestation at the hands of the commies.

Cops outnumbered by over 10:1 by people who can shoot better than they can, with a higher percentage of combat vets (good fire and movement techniques can even defeat superior numbers) than what the cops have.

TL;DR The cops weren't feeling suicidal. If they had started something, the crowd would have finished it, with the Richmond/State/Capitol police all wiped out, and the surviving pro-2A people feeling not merely relieved, but victorious, and anything but oppressed. GloboHomo wisely decided to accept a tactical defeat than a catastrophe at the strategic and moral level.

Hi Vox,
At lunch today (east coast time) I tuned into a livestream from Brietbart for a “man on the ground” interview of the attendees outside of the “killbox” in Richmond. I couldn’t be prouder of my fellow Americans.
Yes, most of the broadcast caught endless Bubbas (of which I might be categorized as one) giving their local version of Molan Labe. But this reporter was also able to find on the streets a local man wearing a “Black Guns Matter” T shirt, who argues that any additional law gives an addition cause to oppress; a woman in flak with her muzzle down, arguing her cause about violence against woman; a purple haired woman with a series of hastily formed signs whose central message was “Gays live longer if they shoot back;” an articulate restaurant owner from Rifle Col. whose waitresses open carry, and now she’s running for Congress, and finally a group of local teenagers who meticulously doxed themselves as young black conservatives speaking to this issue and everything else their minds.

Blogger Kat January 20, 2020 6:31 PM

There's a story I heard about a pastor who once felt extremely burdened to pray from some church members who had gone on some outing or retreat. We're talking calling people in the middle of the night to pray kind of burdened.

The bus came home the next day, and people waited with baited breath to hear about the near death experience the returning congregants must have had. Only there wasn't any such story. Nothing went wrong.

Well, the folks this pastor has woken up to pray didn't appreciate this. They wanted some evidence that this pastor hadn't made everything up.

I think there's an analogy to be had here.

The feds can't even come up with a new name for their agent provocateurs. Why do I say this? Guess what Al-Quaeda translates to in English? That's right. It means "The Base" or "The Foundation." It's not the kind of name Musloids typically employ for groups of muhajidin, who are more likely to have the terms "Allah" or "Islam" as part of the moniker, e.g. Ansar al-Islam, Hezbollah, or the Muslim Brotherhood. As the Q has noted: These people are stupid (along with being thoroughly evil to the core). 1. Presence of County Sheriff's department personnel among the protesters.
2. I hate to say it but, in this case, Diversity was a strength. Several favored victim groups were also among the protesters.
3. The ambush was flanked by thousands of armed persons.
4. Absence of obvious Alt-Retardation.

Another thing I failed to consider was the effect of 'Field Marshal Winter'. Potential counter protesters are largely urban and would not have enjoyed the cold.

Those defending civilization will endure hardship that barbarians will not.

Okay. So Charlottesville, Virginia was a set-up and a disaster, but Richmond, Virginia was a successful rally. Why the difference? Why was one different from the other?

ZhukovG wrote some excellent reasons why the two cam out differently, but allow me to add a point to his list: Prayer. — I prayed for the patriots, and that things would go well, whether with or without bloodshed, and above all that God's will be done. I would be willing to bet that I was not the only one praying. (I seem to remember a lot of prayer about the Bundy Ranch standoff a few years back, as well.)

Conservatives can rally on IMPLICIT white right causes - gun rights, protest CNN fake news, preservation of historical monuments - activism that is very useful for the nationalist agenda.

Having interest groups confining themselves to destroying fake news are performing a great service to the nation.
Explicit WN-type retard rallies are a frontal assault on where the enemy is the strongest- the very dumbest choice in the barrel.

Prayer, Winter(Nature/rural conditions) and overwhelming numbers.

Two wins, Bundy Ranch and Richmond had these in common.

I speak for myself, but it may be a principle, winning feels odd. We are not used to it.

I like it.

I don't know, the "ROMANS GO HOME" & "What has Rome ever done for us?" sketches from Life of Brian were both pretty memorable.

The best part of The Life of Brian has to be the running out of steps at the top of the tower and falling into passing UFO in the midst of a dog-fight with another UFO scene.
And not one word of dialogue.
